Evan Rachel Wood looked like she was wearing gold leaf bird wings in this Altuzarra outfit, which had a pantsuit under it. For some reason this made me think of the designer Cinna from the Hunger Games, as there’s something so clever and unique about it but it’s not try hard or a mishmash of styles. It’s just a simple concept with obvious work put into it, executed well, to dramatic effect. She went subdued with the makeup and jewelry and the result was just perfect. This is a good example of the “Heavenly Bodies” part of the theme. (Sidenote: I haven’t caught up with Westworld after that snooze of a second episode. It was too dialogue heavy.)
Tiffany Haddish was in Brandon Maxwell, and I’m including her here as she rocked a pantsuit like Evan’s signature look. She was there with Karlie Kloss, also in Brandon Maxwell, and she was having so much fun. On E! she was asking if there was good food inside and Karlie was like “not so much,” but said that there would be some booze. She seemed happy with that. There was a lot of black and white last night, but I wanted to see more nun looks. I loved the draping, tailoring and slight puff sleeves on Tiffany’s top.
Hailey Baldwin was in Tommy Hilfiger, in a gray gown with no obvious connection to the theme, although she did have a floral headpiece. She was there with her newish boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, and some outlets pointed out that this was their first red carpet together. He’s 19 and really looks it and she’s 21 and looks older.

I have a coat going down to mid-leg like ERW’s but it’s black leather leaves sewn onto a net. It cost me around 150€ in Lisbon and literally everyone stops me at any event to ask me where I bought it and how expensive it must have been.
It’s funny to think that said coat would go unnoticed here at the Met Gala!

I like Sean Mendes’ music when I’m feeling like sappy pop, and he’s Canadian, so I have general goodwill towards him. Hailey is looking more and more like a Kardashian.

Westworld a snooze? No! I’ve been living for it. Ugh I love it so much. So philosophical and deep, I love how much that show makes me think.

Tiffany asking about food at a party…is SO…VERY…ME!!!!!! I’m sorry…Black folks throw a party, I don’t care HOW upscale it is…we’re ABOUT…THAT…FOOD!!!! And I think it’s cute she’s holding hands with Karlie…I’m sure she was nervous as heck! I just wished they had did more with her makeup…AND…her outfit! Evan…can…do…NO…WRONG!

I really like all of these looks (his and hers), but Evan is definitely the winner. Yes, total Mockingjay realness! Also, I’m not ashamed to admit that whenever I see Shawn, I think “man, I wish at least one of the boys I went go school with had looked like that”. Cute as a button, that one. Hailey always looks kinda distant to me, but she does look lovely here.

If you dont get her then no one can explain her to you. Also – please dont use the word loud to describe black women. Its a word used to describe black women often and its offensive.
I have a soft spot for loud women as I am loud also! Sorry Tiffany didn’t get a better outfit though. Karlie’s pants are terrible. ERW nailed the angel theme as well. And who invited Hailey Baldwin???? Cling on who doesn’t even try to dress like the theme.
Tiffany Haddish is everything that is good and pure in this world.
I really love the winged cape. It wouldn’t work anywhere else but an event like the Met, but it’s so perfectly on theme without resorting to just church imagery. She brought the drama, and it didn’t overwhelm her.
