The Idiot Abroad: Treason Summit Edition, a meeting with Putin in Helsinki

Donald Trump meets his KGB/FSB handler today in Helsinki. The “summit” between Trump and Vladimir Putin has been rolled out for weeks and it pains me to see all of the cable news and network news stations promote this like everything is normal, like Russia didn’t f–king INSTALL Trump into the presidency, like Trump isn’t completely compromised by a giant dossier of bullsh-t in Putin’s hands. We all joke about the pee tape, but really… it’s so much more, and it’s so much worse. Considering that Robert Mueller perfectly timed the indictments of a dozen Russian military agents in the middle of Trump’s British trip, some are wondering if Mueller is going to make another move today. Maybe that’s why Trump was rage-tweeting:

Fact check: Obama wanted to go public in a larger way about the Russian interference, but McConnell was the one who stopped him. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that Obama should have done more. But let me also make this clear: Donald Trump is a criminal who is taunting law enforcement for not catching him. He’s like a serial killer who sends notes to the lead detective.

What else? Hillary Clinton tried to troll Bigly:

And #TreasonSummit is trending on Twitter this morning. What a time to be alive.

Putin showed up late and made the Orange fool wait for him. Just watching them you see that Putin can’t stand Trump. and Trump is so unprepared for any meeting. I just can’t get my mind around any of this. It’s like living a nightmare worse than I could imagine.

    • Lolo86lf says:

Putin arrived about 40 minutes late according to CNN. He is letting the world know who is boss. Donald Trump right now must be shining Putin’s shoes with his tongue.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Yes, Putin’s arrogant dismissiveness toward drump is there for everyone to see. drump looks beaten down. His slumped shoulders and hands clasped to protect his genitals.

Everyone has told drump not to meet with Vlad. Dan Coates is threatening Putin with a tit for tat cyberwar.

Trump whisperer Maggie Haberman has stepped away from her Twitter account. I don’t trust her reporting. Interesting time to leave the platform.

        Trump is a traitor.

      • Nic919 says:

I missed that Haberman is “taking a break “ from twitter. Odd timing. But plenty are noting she has ties to Roger Stone.

      • Christin says:

Her mother allegedly works for son-in-law’s family, too??? Umm, umm, what should we, umm, make of that?

With this much complicity to be revealed, no wonder she “umms” every three words when on TV.

      • Snappyfish says:

Do we remember the time Bush meet w/Bin Laden after 9/11? Of course you don’t as we don’t cozy up to those who attack us!! While the computer hacking is bad & an attack on the American democratic process I don’t think we should gloss over the “shooting down a passenger airliner” and “murdering people in London” aspects of Putin-era Russian misbehavior.

The fact an American President can’t help but Fan Boy over a murderous dictator is beyond reprehensible. I truly hope people wake up!

      • Saras says:

TRAITOR TRUMP! Blames USA for Russia’s deadly shenanigans! Fly back to Russia with your boss Putin!!!

      • Bella DuPont says:

        (Tin foil hat firmly on….)

At this point, I am absolutely certain Putin sends Trump messages to the American people which he then has to tweet, verbatim. For instance, look at another tweet Trump wrote today (in addition to the ones listed above):

“Unfortunately, no matter how well I do at the Summit, if I was given the great city of Moscow as retribution for all the sins and evils committed by Russia over the years, I would return to criticism that it wasn’t good enough – that I should have gotten Saint Petersburg in addition!”

Look at the wording of it…….I would bet my two front teeth, that that tweet was composed by someone in Moscow/St Petersburg and then sent to him to re-tweet. Hell, maybe they even have the login in details of his twitter account to save time, who knows?

It’s clear that Putin doesn’t care who knows that Trump is his asset. They’re not longer trying to disguise it in any way.

        Meanwhile, #TreasonSummit is still trending.

      • magnoliarose says:

Bella, I think at this point Putin is just showing off. He wants us to know he owns Brexit and he owns the US. I agree with you. He’s just going to humiliate him even more as time goes on.

      • LahdidahBaby says:

I feel sick at the thought of this meeting. To me it feels as if our world is falling apart when our longtime allies have been designated FOES and the murderous Putin is being treated like family. How can this be happening? How can the GOP be so passive when their (not OUR) president is dismantling our democracy?

      • Oliviajoy1995 says:

Trump and Putin need to get a room already.

If Putin really wasn’t involved in the 2016 election meddling then he should have no problem sending the 12 Russians who were indicted back to America to face charges. But we all know thats not going to happen.

    • B n A fan says:

So Putin did to him what he did to the Queen, making him wait; I love ❤️ it. I think he is going to sell all our secrets to Putin for money to build a Tower in Russia 🇷🇺. Btw, is wife # 3 Be Besting. We are doomed with this idiot representing us. Oh, I for get, it’s Obamas fault.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Agree. drump is clearly ready to give everything to Putin. And ultimately Putin will give him nothing.

I read that our allies no longer share any high level Intel with the drump administration. That is very wise.

      • Esmom says:

Indiana Joanna, it is very wise of the allies to distance themselves. Just yesterday (I think) Trump called the EU a bigger foe than Russia. I am floored, just aghast, at what Trump has wrought. As someone on Twitter said, it wasn’t that long ago that everyone in the US agreed that Russia was the enemy. It’s crazy how they have managed to shift the narrative and the deplorables have no problem with it.

      • Nic919 says:

Intel from other allies has been kept away for a while now, especially after idiot burned an Israeli agent during his last discussion with Putin.

    • Anna nuttall says:

I suppose it payback from when Trump kept the queen waiting! Ha – now he knows how she felt while waiting for him.

    • GreenTurtle says:

Putin is habitually late to meet with other leaders, sometimes by hours. It’s a power move, of course, but it’s basically his calling card at this point.

  2. Tootsie McJingle says:

What a weapons-grade plum. (Thanks Scots!)

  3. IlsaLund says:

Even with all the indictments and evidence about Russian interference there are so many people (on both the right and far left) who don’t believe or even care. For many, “nothing’s been proven, it’s just political witch hunt, the US has done far worse interfering in other countries, etc. it’s just incredible how people dismiss facts and reality.

    • B n A fan says:

They are dismissing everything because they are ashamed they were dooped by a “Con Man”. If they admit they were dooped it would make them gullible. Btw, he’s blaming everything on US.

    • Christin says:

The cyber security breaches should be of great concern to every citizen (and elected official). Bigly concern.

    • jammypants says:

Nothings been proven? These morons are blind AF. Multiple people and companies plead GUILTY. That’s enough proof! Gah the cognitive dissonance drives me nuts!

    • adastraperaspera says:

Professional, weapons-grade propaganda is being deployed, using marketing funnel methods. People having doubts confirm the strength of the attack. It is nearly impossible for regular people to know which Trump trolls are real and which are Russian intelligence agents. The best thing to do is keep educating as many friends and family as you can, so they aren’t susceptible to this brainwashing. Trump must be removed from office, and social media and mainstream media companies must be tightly regulated.

  4. Jamie42 says:

    Love your title.
    Hate the situation we’re in.

  5. Lightpurple says:

I can’t deal with this. I’m still too traumatized by the sight of Malaria’s lady bits in those leather leggings she wore to get off the plane.

    • Betsy says:

How about her Beauty and the Beast curtains cosplay?

      • Lightpurple says:

Oh, I’m over that. The camel toe is now seared into my brain.

      • Christin says:

The rear view of her skirt (and cartoonish outline of butt cheeks) when meeting the Queen is seared in my memory.

    • Pandy says:

I’ve been deliberately avoiding CNN coverage of drumpf for the last few weeks … but now have to see what Malaria wore! And LOVING the fact that his overlord left him waiting ha ha ha.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

Yes, the unbelievable sight of the First Genitals deplaning was a bit of a shock. I’m still trying to unsee it.

Wtf is wrong with her, and who is her stylist? First the *I really don’t care* jacket on her way to see little children taken from their parents, and now her private parts have gone public.

      Henceforth, Melania will be Vaginia.

  6. RBC says:

This whole debacle is less like a summit between two leaders of powerful nations, but more like an employer having a “performance review” with a new employee.
Whatever Russia has on 45 must be huge, because his behaviour and this summit makes no sense

    • B n A fan says:

He has the “pee pee” tape. He is blackmailing the dotard with it. #45 is compromised 😅.

      • Tiny Martian says:

The thing is, I don’t think the pee tape was even necessary, although I have no doubt that it exists. Trump is driven by pure greed, and Russian money was enough to turn him traitor, pure and simple. The blackmail was just a waste of tape, because I’m sure that as far as Trump is concerned, the pee tape is just a momento of a night well spent. It’s not like he feels any shame or would suffer any consequences if it were released.

Plus, Trump’s slavish admiration for Putin is obvious. He seems to want to be just like him, so he probably feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a brilliant mentor.

      • RBC says:

If the “pee tape “ is real and was released, 45 would probably turn it around then try to profit from it. I keep thinking it is something worse that has him terrified of it being made public.

      • Lightpurple says:

Pretty sure there are multiple pee pee tapes, not just multiple copies of one incident but tapes of multiple incidents. Of him and all three of his oldest kids.

      • Darla says:

Yeah, there’s a pee tape, but there are other tapes. And how old are the girls on these tapes? I think there’s lots of evidence out there that trumpy likes teen girls. Like 13 yo’s. Maybe 12. It’s bad. Much worse than people realize.

      • Esmom says:

Tiny Martian and RBC, I agree that a pee tape would have zero consequences for Trump.
Lightpurple, if that’s true I’m still not convinced Trump would care or pay any sort of price.

      • Kitten says:

I listened to a podcast with Rick Wilson this weekend and he said that he has absolutely no doubt that tape(s) exists. He has been told as much by sources in the intelligence community and he believes them. Trump’s been to Russia many times and if you go to Russia you will be videotaped, PERIOD.

Remember when he said he had tapes of Comey? He projects. The tape is probably always on his mind and he hates that they have this leverage over him. Yet he so desperately wished he had that kind of leverage over HIS enemies.

      • Nic919 says:

It has been alleged more than once that the tape has underaged girls in it. That’s the only thing that would do real damage at this point. The MAGA crowd has given him a pass on porn stars and it’s not a secret he cheats so it needs to be more than a Kim K tape for him to be really concerned.

      • Purplehazeforever says:

Considering his base hasn’t turned away from him, what is on those tapes that Putin can blackmail him with? Underage girls? Putin can’t be trusted so if they exist, they’re either being released or Trump or members of his family will be killed after he does Putin’s bidding. No one escapes Putin.

      • Jerusha says:

@Nic919. A pee tape with underaged girls wouldn’t matter at all to the kool-aid guzzlers. Here in Alabama Doug Jones only beat Pedophile RacistMisogynistXenophobeHomophobe Roy Moore by 20,000 votes. The girls, now middle aged women, were blamed. So, for the Bible thumping true believers, nothing is out of bounds.

      • magnoliarose says:

Maybe there are underaged boys? There have been some darker things said involving the others in the family and I believe those two things would make him cower. Putin has been building a dossier for decades and there has to be so much there that it would stun. He hung with mobsters so who knows where that angle could take anyone. Murder? He also hung out with John Casablancas who was the Harvey Weinstein of modeling but focused on very young. 12. 13.

      • The Original G says:

Trump wouldn’t embarrassed by peepee tapes. There’s widespread reporting that Trumpsmoney losing golf courses and condo sales are financed by Russians laundering cash.

    • Christin says:

Also consider money being laundered. The sons each claimed they were flush with funding from that country.

      • Darla says:

        And this too.

      • whatWHAT? says:

This is the biggest thing they have on him, I think. he’s based his whole persona on being a “billionaire” and if it came out that A) he wasn’t really a billionaire and B) was financially compromised by Russia for loans and/or money laundering, his ego would be crushed AND he’d have the Justice Dept coming after him. those crimes are not something that can be ignored.

      • Harryg says:

I also think he laundered a massive amount of money “through” Russia.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something more sinister, on tape.

      • jwoolman says:

He could always claim a tape was doctored, and the Russians are known for doing that.

But if Mueller has managed to trace transactions to prove the Russians were illegally funneling massive amounts of money into his campaign, that would be a big problem because it’s a big crime.

I wondered where he was getting the money that he claimed he was using to “self-finance” his campaign. He actually turned out to be loaning the money (with interest, big win on many millions of dollars), but he
seems so cash-poor, I think he still would need somebody with real cash to back him. He suckered his supporters into donating in a matching scheme, but since he was loaning the money rather than donating it – it seemed that would just funnel more money into his pocket. The NRA gave his campaign $30 million, an astonishingly high number for a time when membership is down. They have a rich Russian member, was that a conduit for Russian financing of Trump’s campaign? Or was it his usual money laundering, rich Russians buying his real estate for two or three times market value?

This is why we shouldn’t elect real life-long crooks to high office, children.

  7. IlsaLund says:

This meeting will go in Putin’s favor. I read Putin over prepares for meeting his opponents and of course Trump is too arrogant and stupid to prepare for anything. This about sums it up:

All of this, as former CIA officer John Sipher wrote in the Atlantic, suggests that Putin will have no trouble playing to Trump’s weaknesses….. “This is not a meeting of equals but a summit between a con-man and a man who is easily conned. One orders his opponents killed; the other tweets at his.”

    • Bella DuPont says:

      @IlsaLund

There’s nothing to prepare for is there? How does a slave prepare to meet the master? All you can do is prepare to OBEY.

  8. Sash says:

Maybe I should stop hoping someone, anyone, would stop this. How depressing.

    • Snowflake says:

I know, I would have never thought he would be able to just do anything and not be stopped. Very depressing. No more faith in our leaders to save us.

      • Kitten says:

It’s all so disheartening and discouraging. Democrats calling on him to cancel the meeting and all of us knowing that he will go through with it anyway and we are all powerless to stop him. Just the sheer brazenness and utter arrogance of this man. It is infuriating to an almost toxic degree–the utter HATRED I feel for this man.

    • Prairiegirl says:

Personally, I’m praying he spontaneously combusts. All that salt and fat in his diet’s gotta be good for something.

  9. Eric says:

    TASS/Sputnik News Report:

“Trump gave us everything we asked for–dropping of sanctions, denials of Novachok poisoning in Great Britian, reinstalling East Coast embassy employees–and Trump got a 40-minute wait.”

    • jammypants says:

Is there a link to this?

    • Bella DuPont says:

      @Eric

No Pee-pee tape is worth this amount and level of international humiliation. They have to have evidence of outright criminality. So maybe clearly underage girls in the pee-pee tape. Maybe even a snuff tape.

But it’s definitely bigger that just showing off his micro-penis.

  10. Beth says:

I took a break from Trump news this weekend, and I thought there was no way that after Trumps behavior with NATO, the Sun interview, and the 12 Russians being indicted, that this summit would still take place. When will enough be enough to stop this dangerous man from being the POTUS?

    • Kitten says:

And meanwhile, MSM is covering this as if it’s just a normal meeting between two world leaders and not a Russian asset checking in with his boss. Gah. Every day I want to tear my hair out.

      • themummy says:

I don’t see MSM covering it as if it’s just a normal meeting AT ALL. They have been talking about nothing else all day and they have been very loudly condemning it across the board (ok, well, not FOX, but that’s to be expected). I’ve been switching between CNN, MSNBC, and local news stations all day and people are absolutely freaking out about this…. What I am hearing and seeing is an all out offensive against Trump and this meeting. I never watch FOX, but I was curious how they were covering this and believe it or not, it is not actually being portrayed as normal or fine. That said, the news stations can trail against this all day long, but it doesn’t matter unless the Republicans grow some tits and balls and DO something about this finally.

  11. Pam says:

Oh dear, why does Trump fear Putin?

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Putin has the receipts on Trump plus his mobsters are bankrolling Trump Inc. Trump is asset rich but cash poor and they owe millions to banks and other investors.

  12. Digital Unicorn says:

Does he wear makeup? He gets more orange every day.

    • Giddy says:

There was a report a few months ago from a reporter at Mar-a-Lago. It said that at an evening event the Tangerine Traitor wore heavy pancake make-up. It’s not helping.

  13. Johanna says:

Hi there! As a Finn I just want you to know that we are proud and happy to host this meeting. We can’t decide who leads USA or Russia – but talk is always good. Russia is our eastern neighbour and we have been fighting with them over our independency.
So for us, it’s good that they talk, because we fear that Russia attacks us and Baltic countries (perhaps Sweden as well) in the future.

    • Eva says:

As a fellow Finn I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about.

NOBODY here is happy or honored to host this meeting. The only way we’re ”neutral” is because Finland hates Trump as much as we hate Putin.

The center of Helsinki was filled with protests against both.

(And yes it’s a crazy world but I don’t think anyone is currently concerned about Russia attacking Finland, and I don’t even understand what that has to do with this meeting. You think Trump would defend us? LOL.)

      • Kitten says:

        Ignore the botty-bot.

      • VirgiliaCoriolanus says:

        LOL, I was like what?

And due to the fact that my state had a shit ton of Finnish immigrants come over, I’ve studied a lot of Finnish history in college…..Finns are badass and don’t need any protection….you guys repelled the Russian army and their tanks on damn skis and homemade Molotov cocktails!

      • Melly says:

Johanna was an American during the election.

    • Juls says:

Is it really a good thing that they are talking, though? I’m more inclined to believe that if Putin attacks Russia’s neighbors, Trump will already have promised his puppet master that the US will NOT intervene on your behalf.

    • IlsaLund says:

      Russian bot

    • Eric says:

      Johanna:
Thank you for hosting the Treason Summit. While I’m sure it has nothing to do with Finland (as it’s a neutral site), be wary of the clown in the Orange makeup kissing Putin’s feet. Emperor Zero just might make Finland a concession for his “talk” with Putin. You know….Crimea?

      Stay strong pretty Finns!

      • Johanna says:

Thak you Eric! We are just hosting this and proud that we were chosen to do it. It has nothing to do with their personalities. President of USA and Russia are meeting in Helsinki and TALKING – that’s good!!

Crimea is a problem of it’s own and can’t be handled here. This was known already before the meeting. It’s funny that feminists call me “russian bot” (what is that by the way?) just because I say something they don’ t like.

My family is from Karelian isthmus and we have ancestry over 700 hundred years. Have been living in East-Savo (=state of Finland) since 1571. So yeah….no russian here 😁

      • whatWHAT? says:

it has nothing to do with those people being feminists and everything to do with their ability to detect BS.

        but, prattle on…

      • Lightpurple says:

Johanna, calling someone a bot has nothing to do with feminism and it is extremely odd that you thought it did.

      • Jaded says:

Johanna, there’s nothing to be proud of hosting those two monsters. You should be quaking in your boots right now because Trump will give Putin whatever he wants because Putin owns him lock, stock and barrel.

    • Zip says:

      What a load of BS.

    • jammypants says:

I have a Finnish friend and the impression I get is Finland does NOT like Russia.

    • Swackd says:

Thought there were demonstrations against Trump and Putin going on – or at least yesterday there were. Not sure they are today or not but GOOD for the Finns protesting.

    • magnoliarose says:

      Hahahaha. Sure. ok

  14. TeamAwesome says:

I know why he didn’t, but I sometimes imagine Obama had been like, ok Mitch, then I guess I’ll just burn this mother down, and laid all the cards down for all to see. Much how I imagine the Trump/ May presser turning into the scene from Love Actually where Hugh Grant lets Billy Bob have it. Then I go look at Duchess fashion pictures because it’s my coping mechanism of choice.

  15. Louisa says:

I feel as though I am losing my mind. He is not even hiding the fact that he’s compromised any more. And no one is doing a damn thing about it. The GOP are committing treason along with him for whatever reasons (can it just be to get another supreme court judge?) but the dems are nowhere to be found. Seriously, where are they? They should be screaming bloody murder about this. Where are the reporters, the media? Why are they reporting on this like it’s normal?

It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world stops saying “we know it’s just trump and not America” and starts saying “America isn’t doing anything to get rid of him, so guess what, it IS America”. At that point it’s game over. And honestly after this shit show today I really fear that time has come.

    • Darla says:

You’re not losing your mind. We are all being gaslit. Hold on to yourself. You are seeing things clearly. You are not crazy.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Appalling that so many in the press are reporting this as though there is some strategic diplomacy going on here. The only person I heard mentioning this criticism was Joshua Johson on 1A (NPR). A listener basically said “Cut the crap. Trump is in this for personal gain only.” Otherwise the reporters default to the typical spoon-fed sound bites and press releases. They are all giddy and breathless.

I can’t fathom how Huckabee Sanders spews drump’s traitorous lies day in and day out. The self interest of his administration and Republicans is revolting. For all her viciousness she isn’t a complete idiot so she must know how drump is selling out us and our allies.

        Gaw, I’m so depressed.

      • Dara says:

I’m going to drop this quote from Kaiser’s favorite article on how to survive an autocracy:

“Rule #4: Be outraged. If you follow Rule #1 and believe what the autocrat-elect is saying, you will not be surprised. But in the face of the impulse to normalize, it is essential to maintain one’s capacity for shock. This will lead people to call you unreasonable and hysterical, and to accuse you of overreacting. It is no fun to be the only hysterical person in the room. Prepare yourself.”

I go back and re-read that article on a regular basis. It is shocking, and more than a little sickening, just how accurate it has proven to be.
        http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2016/11/10/trump-election-autocracy-rules-for-survival/

    • Kitten says:

@Louisa- You articulated exactly what’s been on my mind all weekend. At this stage we are relying on international protection that is entirely contingent upon the last remaining scraps of affection and respect for the American people. The global community hates Trump-they don’t trust him and they don’t respect him. How long until they give up on us as well? And who could blame them? He is hellbent on isolating us. He thinks he can go it alone. I suspect that in another year (or less) of Trump’s bullying behavior, the international community will simply view 45’s presidency–and by extension, our country’s citizens–as a threat to their safety.

It is just horrific to think about.

      • Giddy says:

I’m depending on the report I read this weekend that our intelligence agencies and the Pentagon have been constantly talking with our allies. Behind the scenes and behind DT’s back they are keeping communication wide open. I still have trust left that if the Colluder in Chief actually threatens the security of our country, they will leak some devastating documents and/or videos.

      • Kitten says:

If true then that is very reassuring, Giddy. Thanks for sharing that–I’m just desperate for any bit of non-terrible news these days.

      • another Nina says:

I thought this thorough reliance on foreign intelligence agencies has already brought the US in war with Iraq, got killed hundredchundreds of thousands of innocent people and brought to life an existence of criminal state on the territory of Syria… So, I fail to understand how it is good news.

      • Kitten says:

@another Nina- Except they are our last line of checks and balances at this stage. Sorry but we don’t really have the luxury of relying on the executive branch or even the courts to stop this. We are increasingly isolated from the rest of the world and the intelligence community seem to be the only people that still care about our country’s survival.

At this stage, the enemy of our enemy is our friend.

    • GreenTurtle says:

No one is reporting on this like it’s normal. Not the Post, the Times, even Fox News. Most of the MSM is loudly appalled, and senior official after senior official, including Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, issued statements condemning his actions.

Yes, no one has started impeachment proceedings, but no one is treating this like a normal bilateral meeting. Google it.

  16. why? says:

This just goes to show that Putin has some huge dirt on the Dotard and it is not financial like some reporters have speculated.

We can’t count on the republicans because Putin has dirt on them and many of their businesses are tied to Russia(Devin Nunes who has done everything in his power to interfere in the Russian investigation). We can’t count on the Democrats because according to the civility democrats any opposition to the Dotard will mobilize the Dotard’s base(a majority of the Dotard’s base are bots and trolls). We can’t count on the WH reporters because they are too worried about keeping their spots in Sarah’s briefings to do the right thing. We can’t count on the press themselves because just like the WH reporters who let’s Sarah lie and berate them, they are too worried about having access to the Dotard and his staff to do the right thing. We can’t count on social media because they allow the bots and trolls full reign out of greed. How can we save this country when the people who hold all the power aren’t doing anything?

    • jammypants says:

There’s also the problem of Trump using twitter to call upon his followers to attack and antagonize his opponents. They all step in line.

      • magnoliarose says:

Twitter is full of fake accounts and people who sit in rooms and are paid to sit and troll the internet.

    • magnoliarose says:

Agreed. I am beginning to think there are some Dems with some Russian attachments too.

  17. B n A fan says:

#45 winks at Putin when they sat down in Helsinki this morning. Did not see Putin winking back at him. To me, the unspoken word, wink is saying you scratch my back, $$$ and I’ll give you secrets that we have.

    • Indiana Joanna says:

It looked to me like he was going for a wink but both eyes-blinked. He’s demented.

The entire “summit” is a lie and just horrible for our country. drump looks like he thinks he’s closing a deal by legitimizing Putin even though he is a murderer, most recently in Great Britain, has threatened and beaten up our ambassadors to Russia, kills his own people and is in cahoots with Bashar Al Assad.

Putin is smirking and laughing at this hideous oaf.

  18. me46 says:

I think Putin is gearing up to invade Estonia(Russian aircraft violated Estonian airspace twice last week and Estonian officials had to summon the Russian Ambassador and send a diplomatic note) and trump is going to promise to ignore NATO article 5.

We are on the cusp of WW3

    • Darla says:

Yes, we are. You know, this would be horrifying no matter what, but, this time we’re the Axis powers. What a punch in the gut.

    • Juls says:

I hope it never comes to WWIII. But if it does, there are 63 million people in this country that should be stoked to enlist.

      • GeekLuva says:

If we do enter into WWIII I know some hell-bent Dump supporters that I’ll be bringing some enlistment papers to! For them and their able-bodied adult children!

    • another Nina says:

@me46 I understand why Russia could have benefited from Crimea and a strategic position of a military port Sevastopol… I realize that Russia might have benefited from a free route (via Lithuania) between Russian territory and Kaliningrad…I sincerely doubt though that that’s the reason to start the war though but I understand that Lithuania could be worried about it. But what’s the purpose of invading Estonia? What would they gain from it? With all due respect, Estonia lacks natural resources or strategic position. NATO aircrafts violate Russian borders on a fairly regular basis as well, it’s not just as widely reported.

      • me46 says:

Another Ninja-Russia wants their ports plus Putin wants to reunite the former USSR but under autocracy not communism.

      • another Nina says:

@me46 I am not sure about Tallinn, I have always thought that Soviet Union invested in Klaipeda, Kaliningrad and Ventspils rather than port of Tallinn due to its depth, other technical issues. Iam not sure about autocracy, I tend to think that it’s too romantic for a current Russian government 🙂 anyway, every time I encounter news about Estonia these days, I see that you are very nervous there but still cannot understand the reason, and what has changed recently that brought this shift in psychological climate

      • me46 says:

I’m not in Estonia (I’m in the US). I’m just very concerned.

      • another Nina says:

oh, I see, @me46. I was hoping to talk to locals.
I assume you get your info from the US media, and, unfortunately, I don’t fully trust them anymore.

      • magnoliarose says:

He wants to reunite the Soviet Union and establish full dominion over Eastern Europe. It is part of his larger plan.

You are right about the US media. They are soft peddling but Canadian news has been very good and other international outlets have done a better job. If you like balanced news I think it is best to read from several sources.

  19. Rapunzel says:

I’m just going to say it: I think Trump has been caught on tape with Ivanka. Biblically. I suspect this is the one and only thing that could turn trumpsters against him. Even under age girls they can talk themselves Into supporting. We saw this with Roy Moore.

I think he’s broke, he’s been living off his name, and got caught in Russia With this blackmailable material. Because he’s an idiot. Who thinks he’s smarter and sharper than everyone. In the meantime, he’s money-laundering for the Russians because otherwise they will release this tape. And because he needs money.

If this turns out true, you heard it here first.

    • Kitten says:

They would say the tape is doctored, that it isn’t really Ivanka but another woman, or simply “but her emails.”

There is simply nothing that will turn his supporters away.

      • Esmom says:

Agreed. There is literally nothing that will get the deplorables to turn on him. It’s mind boggling.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Its more than the money laundering and sex tapes with underage girls, none of that would turn his beloved base against him – tapes with underage boys, now THAT would. Putin has dirt on the whole family, wonder what they have on Nagini, Ken Doll, Quasy and Uday?

Remember, the Trumps have been in bed with the Russians for years – what they have they will have it in bulk.

    • censored says:

      double post

    • censored says:

      @ Rapunzel
I have been thinking it was Ivanka or pubescent children (whereby there was no mistaking that they are were children ), anything other than that His base would overlook/forgive/say its doctored fake news etc

    • why? says:

I have also suspected that Putin has tapes of the Dotard and Ivanka. Wasn’t Ivanka really good friends with Putin’s girlfriend?

  20. Incredulous says:

This joint conference is, words fail me, they really do. Trump blames America for getting hacked, BUTTERY MALES! I won the election. Blames everyone not Russian, totally nothing going on collusion-wise (Yes, he left out Flynn, Manafort, et cetera) it was so bad even Putin was rolling his eyes.

Your president can be out-thought by the jangling of keys.

  21. Jenns says:

I’m following along on Twitter and it seems like the press conference is going great!

    lol.

  22. Beth says:

I’m cringing thinking of the BS things that diehard Trumpsters will say about the Trump /Putin press conference that just took place. They will have to do a lot of twisting and ignoring of the ignorant, insulting things Trump just said about our country. That was a depressing disaster to watch

    • Jenns says:

“The USA meddles in other countries elections.” – Trump supporter/Fox News watcher
“Trump is just trying to create an open dialogue.” – Trump supporter/Fox News watcher
“Hillary Clinton. E-mails. Server. Comey…” – Trump supporter/Fox News watcher
“Actually I haven’t seen the press conference yet.” – Paul Ryan
*Extreme slow turtle voice* “Well, I wouldn’t have said what the president said. But we need to focus on the Supreme Court nomination.” – Mitch McConnell

  23. Nic919 says:

That press conference was horrifying for anyone in the west. Even Putin couldn’t believe how much ass kissing Dump was doing here. He’s a traitor. Something needs to happen and soon.

    • Jenns says:

      ***SPOILER ALERT***

      Nothing is going to happen.

I’m honestly surprised that people are shocked at what happened at that press conference. Can anyone honestly say that they expected something different?

      • Kitten says:

You know…for those of us who were old enough to remember 9/11 and watching it occur in real time on TV, I think this is a very similar feeling.

We always knew that terrorist attacks could and would happen–we had been warned and we thought we were prepared for it. Yet still, I remember seeing those planes fly into the Twin Towers and later, the Pentagon, and it was just so SURREAL to witness. It was hard to believe that it was actually happening; that it wasn’t a Bruce Willis movie or whatever. Yes 9/11 was heart-wrenching and sobering, but it was also astonishing and so very jarring. While we always knew an attack on a grand scale would occur, I don’t think most Americans could have anticipated that it would occur in the form of planes full of passengers being hijacked and used to take out the Twin Towers.

Aspects of Trump’s reign of terror, like his meeting with Putin today, are reminiscent of that feeling for me. Yes, we always knew it could happen and that when it did, it would be awful. But seeing it occur in real time is just so astonishing, so preposterous, so utterly unimaginable that I’m still reeling. Similar to the shocking way that the 9/11 attacks played out, I doubt many of us could have anticipated our country being completely ravaged by a treasonous POTUS who cares more about Putin and Russia than he does about the country he has promised to serve and protect.

And much like 9/11, this is a pivotal turning point for our country. I think this is the beginning of the end. As long as the GOP continues to do nothing, we are watching the destruction of our country occur in real time.

      • B n A fan says:

@ Kitten, I agree with you one million %. I used to work at WTC 2 for over 10 years. We all knew something was going to happened to those two buildings, so many bomb threats, so many evacuate the “building now”, another bomb threat. I left about 5 years before the attack, was too 😱, but when I never in my imagination thought they would bring those buildings down, also five WTC ect. This morning I refused to watch the news conference with the traitor and his boss. I’m telling you the truth I cried to see what’s happening to our country and to see all the republicans so silent, Mitch McConnelland Ryan should be brought up on charges for selling the country out. I must say I’m afraid 😱 to live in this country the first time in my life. I’m so afraid ….

      • Kitten says:

*hugs* BNA Fan. It really is such a terrifying time to be an American.

      • Veronica S. says:

I think Kitten has it nailed. It’s not that you didn’t think it would happen – by this point, it’s clear he’s a traitor – it’s that you didn’t expect evil to be so banal. That’s what really shocks you about it. It happens SO quickly because so many people are invested in looking the other way. Looking back, you can see all of it now, the trajectory that we’ve been on. The divisions in class, race, and gender that were used to undermine the system as a whole. I’m sure there will be a thousand thinkpieces reflecting on the fall of the American Empire someday. It’s just that everybody right now is too much in shock to realize they’re going through it in real time.

    • Jenns says:

I guess I’m so jaded and cynical at this point, that none of this surprises me. And what he said today is pretty much what he’s been saying/tweeting over the past 2 years.

Also, what happened today reminded me of what happened when Trump praised nazis. There was a huge outcry…and then it was forgotten. The same thing is going to happen this time. It’s Monday. And by Thursday, it’ll just be new bullsh*t to be outraged about.

      • magnoliarose says:

I am sitting beside you on this. I am not surprised or shocked or even horrified. I just think this is what he has been doing all along. Same asshole different day.
He is going to keep going lower and getting more brazen. It is like having a relationship with an abusive drug addict. Sooner or later their actions are no longer shocking.

      • Kitten says:

That level of cynicism is toxic, and I say that as a self-described “realist prone to pessimism”.

There have been so many think-pieces written about the fall of democracy under Trump and the overwhelming fear that people will eventually become immune to the craziness. Remember that it’s a thin line between jaded and complacent. First you are unsurprised and eventually after time, you are unconcerned.

Additionally, people acting unaffected is merely aiding the normalization of a completely abnormal presidency. NONE of this is normal. NOTHING he does should be seen as *expected* or *typical*.

        It is NOT.

And the thing is, Trump wants this. He wants all of us to be so desensitized with his incessant antics that we stop fighting, that we stop caring. He WANTS us to be so jaded that we simply give in and give up. Resist the urge to play into that kind of thinking.

      • virginfangirl says:

I was just reading an article about exactly your point of view and how that tactic works with Fascists regimes to take hold. We stop being shocked and outraged. These deplorable behaviors & actions become normal. Now knowing that, I will continue to be outwardly outraged each and every time.

      • magnoliarose says:

I don’t know if the comments are directed at me or the OP or both but this is my answer:
Being outraged is a constant but being shocked or horrified is not. It isn’t the same as apathy or acceptance. I don’t normalize anything about him but I do expect him to be as heinous and vile as possible. I ALWAYS expect the worst from him.
I am familiar with Fascism and how it works but I also know now is the time to think about ways to actively fight against him without allowing him to take up so much energy there is none left to fuel the resistance.

    • Potemkin says:

What a gift is an idiot who thinks he’s the smartest guy on earth like Trump to an old KGB fox like Putin. If the idiot also happens to be “blackmailable”, this is pure gold. And I really start thinking Trump is. In the meantime, the damages he is doing to the West (where Europe is already falling apart on its own) and the world’s balance are enormous. I so wish he could be impeached.

  24. me46 says:

Another Nina-I get my info from the BBC, The guardian etc. I don’t deal with US media much. The info I got about Estonia was from the Baltic Times.

    • another Nina says:

oh, the Baltic Times is not a source, it’s a paper to wrap herring in 🙂

Seriously though, I believe that Tramp probably refuses to pay for NATO presence in Baltic states, and its citizens got really nervous about it. But again, Estonia has nothing to worry about, imho. I doubt Russia considers its targets based on the solepure wish to get it under its authority.

  25. virginfangirl says:

I am scared for the future of our children. Trump is going to make America a Fascist regime. He’s following all the steps. I could cry. And I hate those who support him.

    • me46 says:

I know what you mean Virginfangirl-my husband’s extended family has been ignoring me on FB because I don’t support trump.

  26. Cate says:

I just came here to thank you for covering this orange menace. I feel like we are all morally obligated to pay attention, even on a fun site like Celebitchy.

  27. Q T Hush says:

The Traitor-In-Chief of our country has finally admitted his allegiance to Russia to the world. Isn’t it time for the great people of the USA to stand up and scream”YOU’RE FIRED” to all our elected officials who would rather be RED than dead. There is no justification for their behavior in dealing with our RED president. Having lived through the Cuban missile crisis I’m in shock over current events. The Mercers and Kochs have blood on their hands.

  28. Bliss 51 says:

Guess I’ll to rename my cats, Boris and Natasha. Lousy joke.

  29. raincoaster says:

Trump also said, ‘I speak for Russia.”

The President Of The United States.

  30. Lightpurple says:

DOJ just hauled gun rights advocate Maria Butina into court, charging her with being a Russian agent. This pulls in the NRA.

Mueller and DOJ’s pattern has been: indict & arrest a group of Americans, then Russians, then Americans. The next round up should be Americans like Roger Stone and Carter Page.

    • Eric says:

With the arrest of Maria Butina, the Mueller spotlight is now shining dangerously close to Don Jr.

    • Christin says:

Her arrest makes me feel that this mess is slowly coming together, like a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle of connected people. Let’s get to the dirty money, because that seems the common web for these people (including elected officials, I think).

    • magnoliarose says:

Wow. Here we go. Now we are getting somewhere.

    • Christin says:

Did anyone see Rand Paul’s wacko interview with Blitzer this evening? He repeatedly would not answer the question of whether he believed the intelligence community or Vladdy. I also read that he (RP) plans to go to Vlad’s country in the next few weeks. Hmmm…

  31. why? says:

Today would be a very good day for Mueller to indict Don Jr or Jared or announce that he is charging Devin Nunes, Chuck G, Jim Jordan, Lindsay G, Trey Gowdy, Meadows, and Matt G with obstruction of justice for all the things they have been doing to interfere with the investigation.

Just as they did with DACA, Puerto Rico, Flint, and many other important issues, the press has reduced their coverage of the kids separated from their parents and Jim Jordan’s victims.

The WH(probably John Kelly)has already sent out their favorite reporters(Ashley Parker) to do damage control. She is claiming that the Dotard was given instructions on what to do during the meeting with Putin, but that he didn’t follow it.
