This isn’t the point of this story, but I still can’t get over this Instagram from Khloe Kardashian. She looks like a plastic alien, my God. Anyway, as we already heard this week, Tristan Thompson already has one foot out the door. That Us Weekly story – which I believe 100% – runs contrary to the messaging Khloe has been trying out for the past two months. Khloe would have us believe that Tristan was so apologetic after he cheated on her (repeatedly, with multiple women) and that she is so brave and strong for daring to act like a doormat and pretend like nothing happened. Tristan has tried multiple times to sabotage this relationship and Khloe just refuses to acknowledge that. So now People Magazine has yet another sympathetic article about how Khloe is doing and what she thinks of Tristan these days. Some highlights:
Khloe doesn’t think Tristan “gets” how his affairs changed their relationship: “As a guy, he’s naturally not as understanding as he can be in this particular situation. It’s so much easier for him to, not completely, but brush things under the rug. She can’t do that,” the source says. “Khloé carried his child and is much more in the limelight than he is, and she doesn’t think he understands the consequences of his decisions. She thinks the cheating scandal is a way bigger deal than he does and he doesn’t fully understand the repercussions of his actions affecting not only him and Khloé but the entire family as a whole.”
The Kardashian-Jenner family hates Tristan now: “It’s been a tough learning lesson for him. The whole family had to deal with the public’s perception of him and his relationship with Khloé changing dramatically,” the source says. “He also doesn’t fully ‘get’ that she’s been through this before [with ex-husband Lamar Odom], except that this time there’s a child involved…. When he got with Khloé, he tried to adapt to the best of his ability, but he struggled with being part of such a high-profile family and crossed lines he shouldn’t have. He wasn’t expecting such major backlash from the public and it’s been a lot for him to handle.”
I mean… what is the purpose of this, really? My theory is that Khloe is slowly coming to the realization that, oh right, Tristan checked out of this relationship MONTHS ago and that he’s doing everything he can to get Khloe to dump him. Of course, that’s probably just wishful thinking on my part. The real reason for this is probably just Khloe making excuses for Tristan’s checked-out behavior. She’s making excuses for her own doormat behavior too, acting like “oh, he just doesn’t understand!” He understands perfectly. He just doesn’t give a sh-t.
Also: what’s up with all of the references to how famous the family is? Like, Tristan just had to cheat on Khloe with multiple women because… the family has a reality show?

Tristan heard about the Kardashian curse but he didn’t believe it. This “backlash” is mostly people clowning him for hooking up with a plastic, alien, clown everyone warned him about. It’s his karma for what he did to Jordan. I just hope the Kardashian family has some class, and keep her name off the show.
Tristan probably isn’t the brightest bulb, but getting sucked into the Kardashian vortex seems like a harsh punishment even for him. Doesn’t benefit his ex and other child(ren?) to end up emotionally destroyed.
When Jordan was pregnant, Khloe and her makeup artist (now fired) used to poke a lot of fun at her, and send stories to the press about her. Imagine that, poking fun at a pregnant woman, whose child’s father you are banging while she is pregnant. Tristan said nothing and allowed it. Tristan is a serial cheater, and even if Jordan dumped him for his bad behavior, it doesn’t mean he is free to go flaunt his new relationship! Relationships aren’t black and white. Be a man and be there for her. Send her flowers, and food that she’s craving. IMHO I think he is getting what he deserves, even though he may feel as if he doesn’t deserve it. I think Jordan and her child will be fine, she has a strong support of family and friends, a lot of whom are new moms ( almost all her friends and family have had babies in like a 3 year time span, including Eniko Hart, her cousin). She stays off social media for the most part and most of her postings are business or her enjoying life.

Fair enough. I have no sympathy for Tristan – though I still think he’s probably kinda dumb and easily manipulated – but this gawdawful family destroys men like monsters from Greek mythology, including their own brother. In any other scenario I would consider it sexist to accuse women of deliberately destroying adult men who can walk away on their own, but if we saw a family of brothers who routinely drove women into hospitalization, we’d be enraged. The outlook isn’t good for Tristan, but I’m glad to hear Jordan has a strong support system.
Max: I’m from the area and would love to know the deets. I never heard of a smear campaign on Jordan. She has a good rep as a person and in her business. Khloe’s the one that looks dirty, except……..I keep reading on this site that she had a surrogate. So what if she did. She’s extremely sensitive and weak. If she still had fertility issues and wore a baby bump, she wouldn’t be the first one in in Hollywood to do so. She is the kid’s mother, no matter what the case. God, I’m defending a crazy person. I’m sitting here pregnant myself, with my 22 month old girl falling off my lap, lol, so I guess it’s a mom thing. Anyway, please tell away!!! I want to know. None of these stories came from Jordan. Khloe could have had some class and kept it on the low, but instead she had Tristan and her relationship splashed across the press and social media. There are many other examples. Radar Online runs these stories constantly. Kris writes great fan fiction.

I think he was cheating because he could. Let’s face it, he’s a young, wealthy, successful NBA star who has gorgeous women who would gladly hop in bed with him anytime, anywhere in every city. I think she’s trying to lay the groundwork for their breakup by pinning it on problems *now* so she doesn’t look like as much of a fool for not showing him the door as soon as she found out. This relationship has an expiration date that has long since passed. Everyone – Tristan included – has known that except Khloe. I think she is getting that now. PLUS – and I think this is a factor – he plays for the Cavs and LeBron is now with the Lakers, meaning Khloe very likely won’t be sitting court side during the finals because the Cavs won’t have LeBron. Tristan has lost some of his status.

Scott and Kourtney actually had a relationship. Scott is an alcoholic, and he fit in on the show. A couple of season were devoted to him. Unless this is all fluff for the stupid show, Khloe doesn’t seem to understand that Tristan just doesn’t connect having children with being in a long-term relationship. He has proven that before. He has some connection with his son, but really didn’t feel a long-term connection with his son’s mother. They broke up officially while she was pregnant. That seems to be his pattern – he loses interest in the relationship once his girlfriend gets pregnant, although he is not totally uninterested in the offspring.
I doubt that he considers what he did as cheating. My guess is that he was done with the relationship with Khloe once she was definitely pregnant. It’s quite possible that he never had a truly long-term relationship with Khloe – he may have considered it as just dating and not even “going steady”. Jordon got tired of that approach and dumped him (it was her decision) and moved on, Khloe didn’t.
Khloe got what she wanted: a baby with a father’s name. That is just going to have to be sufficient for her, and maybe it really is. Hard to tell with Kardashians what might be real and what is a plotline. He will be an occasional presence in her daughter’s life, as he will be in his son’s life.
That’s really not so uncommon. You seen that with other social mammals, such as primates observed by Jane Goodall. Some sperm donors are very nurturing and become real parents (giving the lucky offspring two parents), but others simply don’t. They are only interested in having sex with the mother and the offspring are better off with limited or no contact. Among mammals, an important role for the mother is to protect her children against the males, including the sperm donor….
Humans have tended to rely on special commitment ceremonies (marriage) to nail down intentions for long-term relationships with mother and children, so at least legal obligations are set out. Some men don’t need that in order to commit, others will never really see any legal commitment as a serious promise to be faithful. Figuring out which is which would be a very useful skill. But Khloe should at least look at the guy’s previous relationships and not believe anything he tells her about how misunderstood he was. Both Lamar and Tristan clearly showed they were not attached long-term to the mother of their children. Lamar’s partner wasn’t even aware he was done until she heard about the wedding with Khloe, and he hadn’t even introduced her to his children. Alarm bells should have been ringing loud in both cases.
He hasn’t done right by either of his babymamas. He’s a shit person, a philanderer who is starting on a path of leaving a string of children in his sketchy wake. There is no bloody way I will feel sorry for him being ensnared in the Kardahian web. He put himself there.
