As an unrepentant Venom fangirl (ah, my misspent teenage years in comic book stores), I am ready for this film. Super ready. And ready for the inevitable crossovers with Deadpool down the line. Because THAT is some funny stuff.

I just cannot get a read on this movie. It might be a breakout hit, it might be a humongous bomb. I just don’t know.

I do even care. I know nothing about Venom and I’m going to see it anyway. I’m sick of The Avengers. I want a good antihero or villian. Plus, Tom Hardy is interesting at the very least, spectacular at the very best.
On a related note, am I the only one disappointed with movie choices these last few years? The last time I remember be excited to see a movie and happy leaving the theatre was Wonder Woman. Oh wait, I liked the Shape of Water, and was awed by Moonlight. Otherwise, meh.

Nah, Venom is a symbiote with his own series in Marvel. He was originally introduced in the Spiderman comics as a villain that was introduced to Earth from a space mission, but he spun off into his own series years ago. Hardy’s character is completely unrelated to Peter Parker.

Colton’s is nothing. My sister had literal burn scars for a few years from a really bad sunburn years ago. That’s what happens to me any time I’m in summer sun for more than an hour without sunscreen. The pale life is rough.

College promised me a lot of things, including a Venom movie with Topher Grace. I was never NOT going to be disappointed.
