Demi Moore helped deliver all four of Soleil Moon Frye’s kids

Did you guys know that Demi Moore and Soleil Moon Frye were best friends? I didn’t. My guess is they met through their husbands as Soleil’s husband, Jason Goldberg, produced Punk’d with Demi’s ex, Ashton Kutcher. So how do we know they are truly best friends? For starters, Demi got Soleil in the divorce. More conclusively, Demi’s been present at the birth of all Soleil’s children. Soleil and Jason have four kids – Poet, 12, Jagger, 10, Lyric, four and Story, two (sounds like Rumer, Scout and Tallulah’s mom gave name advice as well). But Demi wasn’t just present, she near about delivered the last one.

Demi Moore — actress and birth doula? The Ghost star, 55, has helped her BFF Soleil Moon Frye deliver four children. “She’s been in all my birth rooms,” Moon Frye, 42, gushed to Us Weekly on Wednesday, August 8. “She’s like a doctor. She’s like, ‘Alright. I’m here. Step back everybody.’”

Moore was especially helpful when the Punky Brewster alum was in labor with her son Story, now 2. Moon Frye knew her baby was about to come out and her obstetrician wasn’t in the room. “Demi gets the phone with the doctor, she’s like, ‘If you’re not gonna do it, I’m gonna do it,’” recalled the Nutrisystem ambassador. “She was ready. But then [the doctor] walked in and within five minutes, the baby popped out. He literally, like, shot out.”

“Demi is an incredible advocate and supporter of mine and really an incredible friend,” gushed Moon Frye. “I feel like she’s a really good detector of bulls—t!”

[From Us]

I got a pretty good giggle over the image of Demi prepping to catch the baby. Imagine her throaty voice barking at you to push, I’d dig it. Although, I also wonder why there was no medical presence in the birthing room of a woman in active labor? I guess the nurse saw GI Jane was there, assumed all was under control and popped down to the vending machine for a granola bar.

I’m stumbling a bit over that last part, though. I do believe Demi is probably a good friend. She seems like the type that once you become part of her world, you’re family. But is Demi “a really good detector of bulls—t”? She was friendly with Terry Richardson at one point. Not to mention the fact that she was married to Ashton Kutcher. But I’ve known people like that, who could spot bs everywhere except in their own orbit. Whatever the story is, it sounds like Demi and Soleil have each other backs. And there aren’t many people who have that in Hollywood.

Well that’s a surprise from left field. But I don’t hate it.

      Agreed, very sweet.

With both my kids’ deliveries, I definitely had long stretches with no medical person in the room. The nurses are super busy, responsible for numerous patients, each at a different stage of childbirth. And the docs sleep or have coffee, I found, until the baby is literally about to come out, like Soleil’s. But everyone was always a button push away. I felt like it was very controlled chaos in the maternity ward.

As for the kids’ names, Soleil Moon was certainly no stranger to unique ones her self, lol.

    What a nice story.

But I’m sure for the baby delivery the doctor only stepped away for a moment. Aren’t babies unpredictable?

It happens all the time. I’m a birth doula and have been at lots of births.
90% of the time you see the Dr once or twice, and they literally step into the room 1-5 minutes before the baby pops out.
Because of this I have delivered a baby by myself, then twice with a father’s help and numerous times I have assisted a nurse in delivering.

What is this about the Ashton? I have never heard him being douche to anyone.

On a superficial note, both ladies might want to consider a new hair style

Some hospitals are like airlines now. The night I gave birth recently was a popular one for birthing and they were extremely short staffed. I was in active labor upon arrival (second child) and they told me sorry, no beds available. The nurses refused to call my doctor in until the very last minute and he essentially just caught the baby. It sucked.

Soleil Moon Frye? Next we are going to hear a Punky Brewster reboot. Nice to see Demi looking healthy in the photos.

Demi looks great! It’s weird they look the same age, but Demi is 13 yrs younger than Solei.
Unless it’s genes, EVERYONE in Hollywood who is getting plastic surgery, injectables, etc needs to get a referral from Demi.

Because labor can be long or short. Pushing can be long or short (although not so long usually for a woman who is having her fourth child). The doctors were all in there because they wanted to put a fetal scalp monitor on and the resident who was in charge didn’t think I was really ready to deliver. She didn’t even gown.

It’s a cute story about these two. Some cute news is welcome news.

sometimes babies make that last bit of the journey quickly. When I had my second, the doctor was putting her arms in her gown when I delivered. My daughter completely fell onto the birth table. The doctor’s face was priceless – I must have had my eyes on her to see if she’d be ready. I had 2 nurses beside me too, so I am not sure if there is a protocol around liability if they were to step in.

Soleil is judging from her own perspective so of course for her Demi is a good bs detector. Just means they’re good friends.

When people make judgments public, it’s just their opinion as far as I’m concerned. It’s fine and simply speaks to them valuing each other a lot. If I were to meet Demi, I’d not be asking her advice or consider her judgment as law or gospel because I don’t know her. Ymmv.

I want to know her secret to youthful hair!! Can someone fill me in on Demi’s hair?! Like, is it seriously all hers?
