Omarosa reveals: Ivanka Trump wouldn’t shut up about SNL’s ‘Complicit’ sketch

President Trump and daughter Ivanka attend Small Business Event

I’m mostly exhausted by Saturday Night Live’s political sketches, however well-done or appropriate. Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression has worn thin, and I actually think they’re doing the wrong thing for Jeff Sessions entirely. But one thing they got dead-on was their completely well-received “Complicit” sketch, with Scarlett Johansson playing Ivanka Trump. It aired last year, and it felt like SNL had really captured the zeitgeist. Here is is again:

After that, Ivanka just became Complicit Barbie, Madame Complicity, and the Feckless Complicit C–t. Ivanka even tried to “spin” the complicit label by saying:

“If being complicit is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit. I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this very unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I am doing. So I hope to make a positive impact. I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but you know, I hope time will prove that I have done a good job and much more importantly that my father’s administration is the success that I know it will be.”

[From previous story]

It was all sort of dumb and funny. As it turns out, Ivanka was super-bothered by it though. Omarosa reveals in her book that Ivanka is just as thin-skinned as her father, and Ivanka wouldn’t shut up about the SNL skit.

Donald Trump is notorious for being unable to take a joke, often airing his grievances publicly via Twitter. Omarosa reports that Ivanka apparently kept her complaints a little more private.

“At the senior staff meeting, Ivanka couldn’t stop bemoaning it, how offensive it was, how ridiculous it was,” Omarosa writes. “We’d all been subject to S.N.L. attacks . . . We’d all been hit, many of us in that same week’s show. But Ivanka would not stop talking about being ribbed. Like her father, Ivanka was thin-skinned and could not seem to take a joke.”

[From Vanity Fair]

“Ivanka couldn’t stop bemoaning it, how offensive it was, how ridiculous it was…” I would actually love to see that. I imagine the complicit apple didn’t fall far from the treason tree, and much like Bigly Dearest, she thinks she’s “above” being criticized or mocked. She thinks she’s being clever by dismissing it or acting like a preening little victim (of big bad SNL), but really, daddy’s precious little princess just can’t stand it when people are not groveling at her feet.

I actually forgot about that skit. I’m glad it got under her skin. I’d love to know if she moaned about the airplane incident as well. I bet she gave an earful if she did.

  2. Hoopjumper says:

I loved that skit. It captured her so perfectly. I read once she and Jared want to be seen as American royalty, like Will/Kate. I lol’d because I 100% believe it, and they’ll never get there. But, she is entitled and tone deaf enough to be incapable of understanding why working for this administration with no experience and no backbone won’t give her that.

    • Snappyfish says:

I adored the fact she didn’t know the definition of complicit. So much for “the best” people. She is complicit Barbie, shoes made by recently unemployed sweatshop factory workers sold separately

  3. Jan says:

It makes me feel happy that it bothered her. I think A LOT of things should bother the complicit, greedy pig!

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. And it’s yet another example of how unfit she is to serve, like her dad, focusing on s^%t like that instead of, you know, actual policy.

    • Mac says:

If Scar Jo did a parody of me, I would dine out on that for the rest of my life. Complicit Barbie should leave DC if she is too thin skinned to take a joke.

  4. Indiana Joanna says:

I rewatched it and it is perfect for conveying her vapid self entitlement.

She is furiously tweeting her many shallow, nonsensical attempts to be relevant. I think she must feel the Feds yapping at her heels.

  5. Indiana Joanna says:

    Duplicate

  6. Cat says:

Anyone, who watched Omarosa, on The Apprentice, would be cautious, about trusting anything she said. Omarosa lied and lied about strange little things, that didn’t matter.

    • Lynne says:

I agree…..I’m not pro trump, either of them, but I don’t believe Omarosa about anything. Especial from a book she is shilling.
Says she hated the guy but she campaigned pretty hard for him.

    • pottymouth pup says:

it seems as though her publisher has listened to all the tapes and seen all the corroboration of Omarosa’s claims – they’re taunting Mango Mussolini about his threats to sue. while she is a liar, a manipulator and a sh*tstain on society, she does seem to have the receipts

  7. Christin says:

Long gone are the days (pre-election) when her job was to brand herself as a stylish, 16-hour workday superwoman. What quaint times those were.

I’m surprised she hasn’t had another baby as a distraction, given that the youngest has aged out of prime baby/toddler photo opportunities.

  8. lucy2 says:

It bothered her? Good. Does she want to hear the long, long list of things bothering me? Most of them involve her and her family.

So…what good has she done? She’s been there over a year and a half, what has she accomplished?

  9. minx says:

    She is so strange looking.

  10. Rapunzel says:

Insert Jack Nicholson ” you can’t handle the truth” gif here.

    Whomp Whomp, Nagini.

  11. Mindy_Dopple says:

Has anyone watched season 1 of Succession? I see the parallels from that fictitious awful family to our real life horror show. They’re all tied to their father and don’t know who they are beyond him because their father never let them experience life or identity outside of the family firm. They have no idea how to function without Daddy dearest. I see her and Jared in the characters Chiv and Tom. Son in law desperate to be part of the family and daughter who is completely complicit in the family business and even if it’s abusive and awful, she will never betray it.

    • AnneC says:

I think it’s loosely based on Murdoch family but there are a lot of trump parallels. The patriarch, Logan Roy, is a lot smarter than trump but family dynamics are very tortured. Yeah Shiv is like Ivanka and maybe Roman is Eric Trump!

    • Jan90067 says:

OMG that is SPOT ON!! I can SO SEE THIS!!!!!

  12. Lightpurple says:

“Very unique and unprecedented situation…” Except, Nagini, while it may be a club with limited membership, your situation is NOT unique or unprecedented. Forty-four men held the presidency before your father and most of them had adult children. Let’s look at the last half century alone, shall we? Johnson had two adult daughters in his second term. Nixon had two adult daughters. All 4 of them complied with ethics laws, stayed out of the West Wing, and didn’t take expensive trips on the taxpayers. Ford and Carter both had 3 adult sons, all of whom stayed out of the administration. Reagan had 4 adult kids and George H. W. Bush had 5, several of whom were far more qualified than you. All 9 of those adult kids stayed clear. Caroline & John Kennedy, Susan Ford, Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton, the Bush twins, and the Obama girls were all kids. What is unique and unprecedented here, Nagini, is your willingness to violate federal ethics laws.

    • Nic919 says:

It still amazes me that people don’t bring up how W and Jeb Bush, who were well into adulthood when their father was Vice President and then president, never worked anywhere near the WH. I was a kid during the Reagan and Bush years, but I had no idea who W was until he actually ran against Gore. This mobbed up family current holding the US hostage needs to be removed and jailed. It’s banana republic time.

  13. Beth says:

Like father, like daughter. Both egotistical asswipes

  14. jules says:

Her fragile, entitled ego is bothered by an accurate SNL skit? Maybe she should instead be bothered by the extensive damage her insane father is doing on a daily basis to our country and its residents.

  15. jwoolman says:

I think Ivanka knows very well that her father is incompetent and that he has difficulty understanding both the spoken and written word or remembering anything that hasn’t already been embedded in his brain by long repetition. They pushed him out of any business dealmaking role a while ago. If he ever had any talent for something other than bribing and threatening people to do what he wanted and following mob orders, he lost it in the past few years. His children are rather talentless in this regard also, but they can at least have some understanding of what is going on. None of them would make it in legitimate business. I suspect most if not all of the Trump enterprises have been primarily just fronts for illegal activity, especially massive money laundering.

All of Trump’s adult children know that he is not only an awful person, he is also in serious cognitive decline. Ivanka’s main job at least in the beginning has been to cover for him, with the bonus of being a walking billboard shilling her own products. Eventually they also woke up to other opportunities for grifting. They hadn’t expected him to win, so it took a while. But by the trip to the glowing orb in Saudi Arabia, they knew there was great potential for taking in many hundreds of millions of dollars for very little work.

That’s why they all hang around their father like circling vultures. They want to utilize those opportunities to make a lot of money while they can and may still hope for some money when the old coot dies. But they aren’t smart enough to realize that grifting at this level has put them all in serious legal jeopardy themselves. Their father will use whatever is left of his brain cells to toss them all under the bus in order to save himself. And any real assets, if they even exist, will be eaten up in his own legal defense and bribes and hiring goons to threaten people once he runs out of campaign funds.

The real lawyers keep deserting the sinking ship. His tv attack lawyer Giuliani is undoubtedly in deep with indictable offenses himself, and is not protecting Trump so much as hoping he himself can avoid spending the rest of his life in prison. Giuliani has his own reasons for wanting to derail the Mueller investigation. He can and will toss Trump and Trump’s progeny under the bus in an instant. He already has damaged Trump by his admissions on tv, and I doubt those are accidental. He wants to distract from himself more than anything else. Squirrel!

I think the Trump progeny are overestimating the power of the Presidency to protect them and the desire of their father to protect them also. They have been engaging in shady activity along with dear old dad for many years, but have never been exposed to opposition and investigation this serious before. There are constraints on Trump Sr as POTUS that none of them anticipated, even though it all happens slowly enough that they maintain hope that they will all wiggle out of the quicksand without losing their grip on their booty. As Trump Sr flails around, desperately trying to get away from threats to himself that even the old coot must realize exist by now, they will all simply sink deeper in the quicksand.
