Something struck me as I watched the first half of the AMAs last night: Cardi B is a really big deal these days. I knew she was an increasingly major player in music, of course, but last night, Cardi B was as big a deal as Taylor Swift. To be able to stop, have a baby, and then come back so seamlessly has taken Cardi to the next level. She’s a hit machine, she’s fun, she’s full of drama and people love her and love to watch her. Cardi came to the AMAs with her husband/fiance Offset, and she wore this Dolce & Gabbana gown for the red carpet and during the show (she changed during her performance of “I Like It”) and to pick up her three AMAs (Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Song, and best Soul/R&B). I don’t like this D&G, but even then, I can’t hate it. The power of Cardi.

Vanessa Hudgens in Cushnie – a pretty basic gown, done poorly. Wrinkled, the wrong color for Vanessa, and rather cheap-looking.
Ciara in Dsquared2. So many women were wearing full-on gowns and sh-t, so Ciara stood out simply by wearing a cute little dress. Is this my favorite thing in the world? No. But she looks amazing.
Busy Philipps in Michael Kors. A solid rock-n-roll look for a presenter. I kind of think this is what Halsey should have worn.
Of course Rita Ora wore a big Giambattista Valli gown to the AMAs. She thinks this is, like, the Oscars or something.

On Cardi—I’m incredibly financially conservative so the crazy money spending makes me uncomfortable. I believe she’s purchased 3 cars, each in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, in the last couple of months. She doesn’t drive. Not a good plan or example. Great outfit though.
Cardi B’s choices make my teeth itch. You know she’ll be hot for a minute and broke the next.
And she does a lot of it to show off to her “haters” well girl they’re going to be the last ones laughing with show off habits like those.
She has said she is looking at long-term savings and investments so I believe she is more aware than you may think. She’s married to another successful person so they probably do have a lot of money to buy those items.
I LOVE Cardi’s outfit. Modern traditional but also fashion!
All I could think about with Cardi was Carmen Miranda and Chiquita Banana want their style back. It looks cute though. I’ve lost a lot of interest in Cardi. She’s still immature , materialistic, worries too much about what people think of her and is still out her following and chasing her man around trying to make sure he doesn’t cheat per her most recent interview. Meh.

Ciara snapped back and then some! Her performance outfit was horrible though. I don’t get her career but she has more talent than most performers so I hope she has a true comeback one day.
Cardi B’s dress is amazing. Her style is amazing. I don’t like her as a celeb though. Too crass, insecure, sensitive to criticism, violent and man-pleasing but bashing women for doing the same thing she’s doing now (back in her reality TV days). Somebody like JLo is born to be famous. Cardi B is a person who should get a taste but for her own good, evaporate quickly.

She’s charismatic, seems very authentic in interviews, her songs are pretty catchy and relatable, she’s sexy pretty pleasant looking but not unattainable or plastic look, has been dressing amazing lately
Everyone in this post looks cute and pretty but cardi looks extra fabulous and it’s a dress and style that really suits her
Busy looked the best out of these looks. All the other girls tried sooooooooooo hard, and looked like it.
