It was a strange and tragic moment for Hollywood to celebrate itself yet again on Sunday, but the 2018 People’s Choice Awards still happened, even though there was yet another mass shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, and even though wildfires are ripping through Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Calabasas, Paradise and many more LA communities and beyond. Many of the People’s Choice winner used their speeches to thank firefighters and first responders, and to encourage people to donate to the victims of the fires.
This year’s People’s Choice Awards aired on E!, and of course the Kardashian clan won an award for Favorite Reality Show. Kim Kardashian wore vintage Jean Paul Gaultier and spoke on behalf of her family, thanking all of the firefighters and such:
I’ve got no shade for Kim or this family at this very moment. Kim had to evacuate her home last Friday, I believe, and Khloe did too – Khloe and True are staying with Rob Kardashian and Dream right now. I think Kendall’s home is probably the only one which hasn’t been in the line of fire, but who knows.

Read the other day that she had just visited her favorite botox/Lipo clinic the other day. So guess she had herself refreshed.

We’re going to be faced with a lot more of these kinds of disasters with climate change and global warming – and as we’ve seen, Mother Nature doesn’t care how wealthy or privileged you are. Will Trump only take action when it directly affects him or his property?
I am not a fan, but she was articulate and thoughtful in her speech. More of this type of intelligent communication and A LOT MORE philanthropy and less make-up and hair would be the next move for this family to actually ingratiate themselves to the public who currently made them rich by hating them, not by being fans
She read that speech off a teleprompter. I doubt she wrote it. There were no “likes” in the entire thing !
@Louise Anne – people like the Kardashians have the biggest carbon footprint. They need to change their lifestyle as do all of us.
It actually already does & he has. He requested a wall for his golf course in Scotland, citing rising sea levels & etc., but the local Scottish environmental groups were against it. Not sure if he managed to muscle that decision his way or not.

Kendall’s eyes seem as dead as Kim and Khloe’s faces….they look like caricatures….and those lips….wow!!
What blows my mind is many of the K sisters have daughters, can you imagine the body image they will be projecting their daughters….sad.
Exactly! What will their daughters think when they literally grow up looking nothing like their mothers? That will be difficult and confusing for them if those are the standards they grow up around. But I guess if they’re treated like Kylie they won’t have to go too long with their natural looks …

Hm, sorry but Kim was shown visiting an office for fillers and botox immediately after her evacuation. Apparently that was more important than being with her children during what must have been a frightful time.
They all look like clowns with the exception of Kourtney who with her original face is indeed the most interesting to look at.

I too doubt Kim’s sincerity. She really doesn’t care. I do feel badly for all of the people who are displaced or are losing their homes in California and for those who have lost their lives (human, animal, and flora) due to the wildfires. It is distressing to acknowledge that this will likely be an ongoing occurrence.
She doesn’t care. Her place didn’t burn down so all those purses and shoes she hoards are still intact. That’s what would hurt her the most.
Khloe has become more and more inappropriate. Like, your sister is addressing some major tragedy right now, can you just stand there like an adult for a minute? She’s so obnoxious and has no idea how to behave.
Kendall is an utter charisma vacuum. They really do owe it all to Kim. I know I know sextape blahblahblah. But at least she’s charismatic and usually knows how to act, and at the end of the day she puts her efforts towards improving the lives of others with gun safety and prison reform etc. She may be the one with the sex tape but none of them would have made it this far with their inappropriate, immature, dead eyed behavior.

I really don’t see the appeal of looking so plastic, so inhuman. Who really thinks that that is attractive? There is no softness, no emotion, nothing that makes you want to approach, speak to, or spend any amount of time with those people. Maybe I’m too old, but I truly do not understand the appeal of looking more like a plastic mannequin than a person who enjoys life. I see them and can only think of what a waste it all is.
The Paradise/Camp fire is in northeast CA, nowhere near LA, FWIW.

The lack of real emotion in Kim’s voice is telling. I didn’t feel any sincerity from her, just the mandatory reading of an appropriate speech prepared for her by someone else.
