Cardi B needs to fire her publicist Patientce, who organized the Offset debacle

Cardi B attends Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden

Over the weekend, Cardi B headlined the Rolling Loud concert. That would have been a great story, just one more feather in her cap for her excellent and newsworthy 2018. Unfortunately, Cardi’s estranged husband stalked her at her job and decided to come out on stage and try to emotionally manipulate her into taking him back. We talked about all of this yesterday, and honestly, it still upsets me that Offset did that to Cardi and that people are still like “oooh, she should take him back, that’s so romantic!” Bullsh-t. What’s also really bad about this situation is that Offset coordinated this mess with Cardi’s people WITHOUT HER KNOWLEDGE. Cardi’s publicist was in on it:

Offset poured his heart out over the weekend, begging Cardi B in the middle of her Rolling Loud concert to take him back, but there’s something that surfaced in a video that makes it look like the whole thing was staged, but Cardi is calling BS. As TMZ reported, Offset appeared onstage — seemingly out of nowhere — with a cart of roses that spelled out the words, “Take Me Back Cardi.” Seems sincere enough … that is, until you watch this video of Offset making his way to the stage. Look closely at the woman with the red hair. Her name is Patientce, and she’s Cardi’s P.R. rep. The question … if this were a love ambush, why is Patientce leading the way for Offset?

As improbable as it seems, Cardi insists this was not a WWE-type moment. Sources connected to Cardi say Patientce is way more than a public relations manager — she’s family, to both her and Offset. Sources close to both Patientce and Cardi tell TMZ, Patientce strongly believes Cardi is still in love with Offset and does not want to pull the plug on their marriage. She is close to Cardi and Offset, she was sort of a Henry Kissinger (Google it) and brought him onstage to open the door to a reconciliation. We’re told Cardi really didn’t know Offset was coming onstage and she was clearly very upset, but it was Patientce’s way of trying to make things right.

Fans on Twitter had already pointed out that Cardi’s publicist Patientce was the one to lead Offset on stage, and those fans cited that as “proof” that the whole thing is some kind of set-up and that Offset and Cardi are just doing this for attention. I still don’t believe Cardi was in on this at all – I think she had many reasons for ending it with Offset, including his serial infidelity, and now she’s stuck in a really f–ked up position where the people around her are trying to convince her to get back together with the toxic douchebag she already tossed aside.

Personally, I think Cardi needs to FIRE EVERYBODY and start again with some people who know what they’re doing. But for now, Cardi is trying to keep the peace among her staff, and she made an Instagram Live video defending Patientce, saying “That’s my bitch. That’s my homie. That’s like my big sister, she’s not like any other publicist. She’s my friend. She has taken my husband and my sister as a client and she has helped us a lot. Yeah, sometimes she does a little bit more, you wanna know why? Because we are a family and she cares about my family. I’m not gonna let y’all drag her. I don’t give a f—…I will never let y’all disrespect people this close to me.” Oh, Cardi. THIS IS BUSINESS. And your publicist works for you, you don’t work for your publicist. She f–ked up and you should fire her.

My prediction is that she will get back together with him. Yes, she wasn’t happy when he came on stage, but you can see the hesitation and uncertainty in her bodylanguage.

    • Chocolate Princess says:

Are the pigs ready for lift off in the sky? I hope so, because I call this BS. Cardi B is not going to divorce Offset.

  2. RBC says:

Patientce ? Is that for real?

    • Barfly says:

      Exactly 🤔😂😆

    • Erinn says:

      I know. I know.

I’m pretty accepting of people’s names because it’s dickish to not be, and my own name isn’t the traditional spelling. But I just keep aggressively pronouncing the T in this one.

      • Gurl says:

If Faith, Hope, Grace are acceptable names, why the shade on Patience?

      • Jay (the Canadian one) says:

@Gurl: Faith, Hope, and Grace are acceptable, but Faiythe, Hhope, and Grayse might not be. There’s an extra “t” in there you missed.

    • BaeBae says:

Y’all are so annoying with the name shaming when it’s not your standard Jessica, Ashley, etc. Of course, it’s usually a person of color who’s name gets trashed 🙃

      • Kitten says:

Oh don’t worry, I take issue with Jessika and Ashlee too. Patience is a beautiful name IMO but Patientce with the extra “t” is what people are pointing out. It must suck for her because you know NO ONE ever spells her name right.

      • Marianne says:

Trust me, there are white people out there who do dumb spellings too. I know someone who named her son “Koltyn”. Like what’s so wrong with the Colton spellling?

      • TheRickestRick says:

I always thought white girls were by far the guiltiest for ridiculous names and spellings!! Maysyn, Kayleene, Tynnifer, etc

  3. Scal says:

Even if she is like family 1) this is why you don’t work with family esp if they are on your payroll 2) this would still be messed up even if your mom/cousin/aunt/sister did this to you. It’s not romantic and putting someone on the spot so publicly is NOT okay. It’s manipulative.

Time to clean house and hire people that work for Cardi not Offset.

  4. Loopy says:

They need to split their people now if she is truly getting divorced, her and Offset have a team that works for both of them. Take a page from Posh and Becks, and Jay z and Beyonce have separate business teams.

    • Original Jenns says:

Exactly. They share the same people behind the scenes, and I’m sure one of them is worth more together than apart (Offset). This is about keeping the money coming in not about romance.

  5. Oc says:

She needs professionals around her to take care of her career and business, not friends.

  6. Zapp Brannigan says:

Do the show business types never learn? How many times have we read about someone who lost all their money because a friend or family member ripped them off? She needs a new team now, the one she has are not working for her best interests.

On a personal level, how good a friend can this woman really be if she is trying to encourage Cardi to reunite with a serial cheat, he is risking her physical health and emotional well being by cheating with randoms.

  7. BlueSky says:

I think Cardi is pissed off but she is taking it out on the wrong people. What made me sick is the whole “she believes Cardi is still in love with him and really doesn’t want to pull the plug” excuse like that makes it okay. I’ve read several blind items about him chronically cheating on her and being jealous of her success and not really looking out for her best interest.
This is just abusive controlling behavior being presented as something romantic.

  8. anniefannie says:

I would be furious if I was put in this position by a paid employee but I can’t help but admire Cardi’s loyalty. In friendship and colleagues I think loyalty is as important as acumen. Patientce(🤨) seems like she meant well, it was the execution that sucked

  9. Babs says:

I can’t believe people really believe this obvious stunt.

    • Kittycat says:

      Pretty sad eh.

      • Lala11_7 says:

Him being a disrespectful garden tool ain’t a stunt…him getting down with somebody that Cardi paid to be in her video…ain’t a stunt…him getting down with somebody that’s younger than Cardi and aspiring to snatch Cardi’s bag ain’t a stunt…

        So…which part is the stunt?

      • Babs says:

The breakup is the stunt. There’s no breakup. The publicist is in it because they all are.

    • Wasabi says:

Their breakup seems like a stunt to me, as well. Dude has some music to drop so he rides Cardi’s coattales and hard drama like a pony.

    • Haapa says:

I find this attitude to be gross, even if it does turn out to be true. It feels like people are patronizing and infantalizing her.

  10. Piper says:

This reminds me Cardis just 25

  11. Steff says:

    She’ll take him back. *eyeroll*

  12. erika says:

I’m losing my * Patientce* with this one.

  13. Goldengirlslover34 says:

I remember hearing early on in Cardi’s career how she attached herself to all of Offset’s people. That is part of problem. Her team should have always been completely separate. Her publicist shouldn’t be involved in trying to get her back with her estranged husband. There are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. She should clean house (I doubt she will) and start over with people who are completely loyal to her.

  14. Chisey says:

Honestly, I think she messed up on a personal level because Cardi was upset and this was a pretty crappy ambush. But on a professional level, I’m not sure she did because Cardi is getting headlines, which raises her profile and keeps her relevant, which is the base of her career. I don’t follow rap at all, but I know who Cardi B is. So the analogies like “what if your ex showed up to win you back in the middle of a meeting presentation!?” don’t quite track for me. In most people’s work that would be a huge mess that makes you look unprofessional and wastes the time of everyone else with your personal drama. But Cardi B is an entertainer, and the ambush was, if nothing else, entertaining. It’s pretty clear to me that Cardi wasn’t ok with it, and Patientce messed up by making this part of Cardi’s public image when she didn’t want it to be. Cardi has the right to choose which parts of her life are for the public and which aren’t, and her team should respect that. But Patientce’s PR instincts seem on point to me 🤷‍♀️

  15. Ellie says:

Cardi was in on all of it, please.

  16. Marianne says:

Just because shes your “family” doesnt mean that shes safe from criticism. You need to tell her how uncomfortable that made you and how inappropriate it was while she was working.

  17. Yes Doubtful says:

I think Cardi is making many of the classic mistakes that people who come from nothing make. She’s been spending a lot of money on jewelry, cars, homes, etc. She’s going to be bankrupt in 2 years. Plus using family or friends as employees is never a good idea. There needs to be that line between business and personal.
