Wow, Julia Roberts certainly looks… um, fresh? Freshened, perhaps. Her skin is tighter now than it was when she was in Steel Magnolias. I honestly didn’t even recognize her at first, although looking at her more closely now, you can tell that it’s a combination of things – a dark tan and a brassy hair color to camouflage the subtle new work on her face. Julia’s pantsuited ensemble is Stella McCartney. You guys know how I feel about Stella’s work, but I tend to think this is… okay? It’s certainly flattering, giving Julia an illusion of a very weird hourglass figure. But if you look at the pieces separately, you can see that the trousers are actually terrible.
Honestly, Dakota Fanning was one of my picks for best dressed. I know we’ve seen this style of Armani gown on other women in other years, but it’s a classic cut done well, and it looks amazing on her.
I truly didn’t notice it last night, but Glenn Close wore one of the most amazing sack dresses OF ALL TIME. Angelina Jolie is so jealous that didn’t think of literally wearing a black sack with arm and neck holes to an awards show. Glenn’s sack dress is Armani. She got to sweep her sack dress up to the stage when she won Best Actress in a Drama. I wish we had a good cutaway to Gaga at that very moment.

Only because she’s working them, and I’m embarrassed for her lol. As we age, we settle into life, not much shocks us, we’re not amazed to be anywhere or seeing something we haven’t seen a gazillion times before. Granted, if a little green Martian were just now standing at my door proclaiming to come in peace holding a ray gun, my eyes would pop in that old virginal way of seeing and being a part something exciting and new. Julia here is is not seeing anything exciting and new, but she’s damn well gonna try with eyes wide open lol.

Glenn’s speech was so amazing. And I couldn’t help but think that if Gaga had won, her speech would not be as empowering and inspiring, lol. She’s truly a legend and I’m glad she won. Her dress reminds me of a velvet wine bag.
I didn’t mind Julia’s look, it was different and it worked for her. At first when I only saw her head and shoulders I thought she’d be too monotone but the pants balance the effect. I feel like unflattering pants are par for the course for her, so meh. They could be worse.
I think her face looks the same but I was marveling at how tight her neck is. She was so thin in Homecoming, almost gaunt, and she seems to have filled out a little bit and it looks good on her.

I’m with you on both counts. Julia’s pants need to be more cropped to show some shin or longer to cover the foot. This length does a disservice to her legs. But the mullett/bodice gives a nice silhouette otherwise.
I agree. JR has never been able to pull off an upstanding look since she was with Benjamin Bratt. I guess my problem is that I think she is over idolized and I don’t think that she is that great of of an actor anymore. I also think that JR was purely classless for her stunt that she pulled on her current husbands wife while he was cheating with HER and trying to leave his wife. I have also found that she plays the same role on repeat with the same type of acting in every film.

It looks bunched weird at the top almost like she didn’t tuck it in correctly, I wish it was smoother.
I shouldn’t love Julia’s look (McCartney ugh, pants with a weird skirt thing attached, nah), but somehow, it just really really works on her. She looks comfortable and confident and it’s a nice nod to her suiting looks of years past at the Globes.
Julia looks amazing. Who ever is her dermatologist and/or surgeon has such a light touch. She looks peak beautiful.

She got work done because the Internet hurt her feelings. Her niece posted an ugly photo of her and Julia was shocked and hurt at the comments. It was a rude awakening I’m sure because in her little hollyweird bubble the world loves her and consider her Americas sweetheart.
Julia looks great! If she had work done on her face, her plastic surgeon did a great job. I loved that she did her thing among all the gowns and I liked it. I just loved Glenn Close and she looked spot on.
I once gave away a pair of slacks because they made me look like that.
I don’t know about Julia’s outfit. It’s looks like it could have been a beautiful dress but the pants ruin it.
I like Julia’s outfit but think the beige on top should have been a better color for her. I love that retro 50’s look though and glad designers are using it again.
I wasn’t sure about Glen Close’s dress until she started walking up on stage and you could see how it moved. It was perfect!

I loved Julia’s look for her. I think it suits her well and she looks great. Plastic surgery or whatever, she at least still looks very much like herself. I’m not against really good work unless it becomes cat-face’ish or i dont know Madonna-esque levels of crazy.

That dress makes her legs look smaller than her torso. It’s throwing me off. It’s like those old mix and match dress books I used to have as a kid, where the pages were divided at head, torso, and waist, and you could pick different combinations to wear together.
I loved Julia’s ensemble. I love the color difference of the two together and her hair looked great. Ok….Julia and Regina for the win.

While I love the style of Julia’s ensemble, I would have loved to see the pants somewhat reworked. Next to the shimmery champagne lightness of the dress part of the outfit, the pants look severe. Maybe make the pants more flowy or do them in a different color, such as cream.

Julia has horrible fashion sense. Her hair looks too blonde. Her face looks better than the last few times I’ve seen her.
I think the top is too pale; it would be better with a dark color, imo. I like her earrings and bracelet, though. That hair color is a nice shade, but she looks so much better with darker hair.
I love Julia and think she is gorgeous … but it’s a no to the outfit from me. I just … meh … there must have been something better.
