Russian asset Donald Trump really, really wants to pull the USA out of NATO

President Donald J. Trump and first lady Melania Trump participate in the NORAD Santa Tracker phone calls

Over the weekend, we discussed the new reporting that claimed that the FBI had launched an investigation into Donald Trump in May 2017. They were investigating whether Trump was or is a Russian asset, whether he acts – knowingly or unknowingly – at the behest of a foreign government. The report was interesting because it revealed that the FBI had their concerns before Bob Mueller was ever appointed. The report was also a “no, derp” moment because we all know that Trump is a motherf–king Russian asset. We’ve known for years.

After that NYT report, the Washington Post followed up with this article about the lengths Trump has gone through to conceal his “conversations” with Vladimir Putin while in office. Putin and Trump have had several private conversations over the past two years, and no one working for the American government really knows what Trump or Putin are saying in those meetings. We can only assume that Trump is receiving his orders. Speaking of…

There are few things that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia desires more than the weakening of NATO, the military alliance among the United States, Europe and Canada that has deterred Soviet and Russian aggression for 70 years. Last year, President Trump suggested a move tantamount to destroying NATO: the withdrawal of the United States.

Senior administration officials told The New York Times that several times over the course of 2018, Mr. Trump privately said he wanted to withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Current and former officials who support the alliance said they feared Mr. Trump could return to his threat as allied military spending continued to lag behind the goals the president had set.

In the days around a tumultuous NATO summit meeting last summer, they said, Mr. Trump told his top national security officials that he did not see the point of the military alliance, which he presented as a drain on the United States.

At the time, Mr. Trump’s national security team, including Jim Mattis, then the defense secretary, and John R. Bolton, the national security adviser, scrambled to keep American strategy on track without mention of a withdrawal that would drastically reduce Washington’s influence in Europe and could embolden Russia for decades. Now, the president’s repeatedly stated desire to withdraw from NATO is raising new worries among national security officials amid growing concern about Mr. Trump’s efforts to keep his meetings with Mr. Putin secret from even his own aides, and an F.B.I. investigation into the administration’s Russia ties.

[From The NY Times]

Yep. What kills me – and what will kill us all, honestly – is that people keep acting like this is brand new information. Trump has been recording diss tracks against NATO for two years. He hates NATO because he is too stupid to understand it. He just believes whatever his Russian handlers tell him, because that’s easier for him. Easier than picking up a briefing paper or reading a f–king book.

Our stable genius President is retweeting Charlie Kirk this morning. Charlie Kirk who makes stuff up and calls it “FACTS.”

    • Megan says:

That stable genius is so smart he acts like a Russian agent in plain sight for all to see. Just because he does it in public doesn’t make it legal.

    • Bella Bella says:

I think the FBI needs to bug the President on those “visits” and phonecalls with Putin. Put a wiretap in his tie or something. Bug his bed, his chair, his desk. C’mon FBI, you know you can do this. How hard can it be to make sure officials know what they are talking about?

      • Megan says:

It’s very likely the FBI and/or CIA have intercepted Russian conversations about the meetings and know the content.

As for all this talk about subpoenaing the interpreter, why not just subpoena Tillerson about the meeting he was in?

  2. RBC says:

Whatever Putin has on 45 must be very explosive. Must be worse than rumours of money laundering or romps with prostitutes
He is scared of it coming out

    • OriginalLala says:

it must be everything we assume X 10000. I hope one day it all comes out

    • FC says:

Yep. He’s not easily shamed, so it’s probably something legit horrific. Like underage/trafficking involvement.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Indeed – this is a man who really has no shame and it has to be worse than anyone can imagine. I personally think its 2 things: 1) the amount of money he owes to the Russian mafia is in the Billions and that he is actually broke. 2) given how he behaves to women, esp the stories around how he behaved to the teenage contestants of Miss Universe – he likes them young and I think how young is what is going to shock the socks off everyone. Plus the whole way he paws Princess Nagini in public does make people think that there is something very ‘off’ with that relationship *wink*. Also, he has a violent side to him – there are rumours that Harry Levin (TMZ) helped bury CCTV footage of him beating the sh!t out of Melania in an elevator.

  3. Incredulous says:

I look forward to Republicans explaining why the USA withdrawing from NATO is a good move. Pusillanimity, thy name be GOP.

    • Lightpurple says:

Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul have been told exactly what to say

    • Tw says:

The GOP leadership is compromised, too. And Nuñes. Good god. We knew that from his bizarre actions in early ‘17, but the recent reports on him and Flynn are getting to the crux of it. And Flynn has been singing like a bird. This is getting good.

  4. Eyfalia says:

Well, the USofA have air bases all over the place. They have a huge one called Bondsteel in Kosovo. Last year the US Army chopped a whole forest down to build a big military hospital in Germany. If they leave the NATO they will have to remove everything from Europe!

  5. Louise says:

It would be great if the other countries would start to pay their fair share. It is not really fair that the USA supports most of NATO. Germany is rich put more money in. I am unsure what the general concern is. Are people really worried that Russia will take over the “world”

    • Lightpurple says:

Based on the calculations written into the agreements, they do pay their “fair share.” You know who very often is in arrears on UN dues? The USA.

    • Lindy says:

Sigh. Please check your facts. The amounts of money all NATO countries pay into the alliance is public information. Trump says they owe more and haven’t paid the US but these claims are untrue and have repeatedly been refuted by reliable sources. Stop spreading lies.

    • Megan says:

I think the people living in Crimea are very much concerned about Russia taking over the world.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Each country pays a percentage of their GDP – so they are paying their ‘fair’ share. In fact, only last year they all agreed an increase, even the USA IIRC.

    • CairinaCat says:

Louise is a obvious plant by someone, Russians?
Every single post she spouts Russian/maga rhetoric.
But not in the way a regular person who is maga does.
      So it really stands out

    • hogtowngooner says:

People who don’t know a thing about how NATO works should really STFU about it.

It’s a joint organization, but the Dotard and his merry band of Deplorables will arrogantly assume that if the US is in it, the US is in charge of it and gets to push every other member around. BTW, the only time Article 5 was invoked (“an attack on one is an attack on all”) was on 9/11, when other NATO countries responded to a member in need.

Every member nation contributes a portion of their GDP, which varies between all of them, so of course the monetary amount will be different.

    • FuefinaWG says:

Maybe Louise gets all of her news from 45’s tweets?

  6. Goofpuff says:

Considering how much USA benefits from NATO we should pay more. Paying less dilutes any US power in the region. So if other countries step in they don’t need to listen to us because we aren’t providing the security so should shut up.

This pulling out of all these treaties is a brilliant Putin move. We’ve strengthened his grip on Europe and weakened ours. America First movement weakens. It does not makes us stronger.

    • jj says:

I wish Trump could understand your point because you are so very right. I am not sure there are people in place who can make him understand, maybe fox news if they get onboard?

  7. Andrea says:

One would think given all of the attention he has gotten recently about his Russian ties, and how close they are to revealing the depth of the corruption and treasonous activity between this moron and Putin… that now might not be the best time to start talking about pulling out of NATO? Isn’t that just raising another massive alarm bell? Is it because he is that desperate to keep Putin happy and they are rushing to get these things done before the gig is up? Its all very surreal.

  8. aang says:

I’m not super attached to the human race so I’ll accept a nuclear holocaust if we can only see every single thing Russia has on trump first.

    • pinetree13 says:

Well, I for one would like the human race to continue, but if you don’t like humans, think instead of the billions of puppies and kittens that would also suffer. LOL

    • FuefinaWG says:

Yes, Prairiegirl: It’s all Obama’s fault. You too, apparently, get all your news from 45’s tweets.
Russia won’t be happy until they rule the world. Dictator’s, either in the USA or Russia, are not good for anyone.
