Here’s something of an update about Jenny Slate. I tapped out of paying attention to Jenny Slate’s love life last year, when she and Chris Evans were doing their on-and-off thing and it felt like they wanted us to pay attention or care. I think they did break up for good last March, even after they almost seemed to be apartment-hunting together in New York (it was a weird time). Something like that, but honestly, they might have had a few more reunions and breakups since then. I do know that Slate is refreshingly honest about what dating is like as a twee 30-something divorcee.
So, good news? Jenny Slate has a boyfriend and he’s not an Avenger. Her new boyfriend is Ben Shattuck and they made their coupled-up public debut at the Sundance Film Festival. They were seen canoodling all over Sundance, and getting “very cozy at The Vulture Spot.” Ben is described as an “artist” in most of the gossip items, and I did some creeping on his Instagram. He seems to be a painter with a kind of woodsy vibe. I like it.

Sure! He’s cute. And there seems to be a lot more chemistry between them than there ever was between Chris and her.

What I noticed is that from the front he looks exactly like the male version of Jenny Slate.
That’s what I see, too. They look exactly alike head-on.
It’s because his eyes are really close together from the front. And you, obviously, can’t see that from the side. He also needs to shave his neck and get rid of the unibrow.

I agree his profile is much improved. I think the darker mustache/beard around his mouth does him no favors. He would look better with the lighter stubble everywhere that he has in profile.

I like this dude. I mean, I don’t know him from a hole in the ground, but I like his vibe. Reminds me of my husband in a lot of ways… which is probably what it is. I think he’s cute, but he has an almost slightly goofy expression or something – something about him doesn’t seem like he’d be a douchebag, so that’s nice.

Yep profile shot much better. Since he’s not a profesh, he hasn’t mastered the smile on demand for cameras so in the first photo from the front his smile and face looks strained and weird.
Good to see that she has a bf that allows her to touch him in public. Evans always seems distant in public from the women he is dating. They seem to be a better match for each other. Anb by the timeline, Evans and Jenny broke up around january of 2018 and he mentioned it later, while promoting his play. She disappeared from SM during that time.
He’s always been private about his relationships- not distant. Jenny talked about him constantly which I think was ultimately a turn off for him. She seemed thirsty for everyone to know she was basically dating her high school dream boyfriend.

I saw her live on Halloween 2018. She was doing two comedy shows in Boston and she was super candid about her marriage, divorce, and dating as a single lady. She had some funny dating stories, but I just assumed they were exaggerated for the sake of the comedy show. She did say she was single and hated being single so this must be a relatively new relationship.
I don’t pay much attention to her love life but I like her as a performer. So I guess good for her!
He’s a pretty classic 30 something artist from New England with some Brooklyn thrown in. He reminds me of the crowd I know. Its a nice life he presents on IG, very salty, woodsy, Academic, with a smell of turpentine and blueberries. I live in Coastal Maine and this is a very real lifestyle and I hope she embraces it. She seems down to earth first, Hollywood second to me.

Totally agree. It all feels so fake and forced to me, sort of as if the guy had no idea she’d have a pro photog called in for the ‘official announcement’ pics and in the first pic he looks like he’s on a verge of panic lol. She’s not the level of celebrity to announce a 2-month long relationship, she just needed an excuse to have gossip outlets bring up Evans in the same sentence as her name again and not be obvious about it.
Exactly – she really has no level of celebrity (good or bad) aside from her connection to Chris Evans (which is not something I would brag about LOL). All she’s known for is for leaving her husband for Chris, being with Chris, Chris leaving her, Chris deciding if to be on or off with her, and showing off her new boyfriend who isn’t Chris so TAKE THAT CHRIS. It’s all about him.
I promised myself I wouldn’t look at this post, but it’s a slow morning & I needed something to laugh at.
If I eye rolled any harder at Jenny TryHard, I’d have given myself a seizure.
Every time I see her I roll so hard my eyes say hello to my brain. She would be so much more likable if she stayed genuine and not try to force things about herself in to the media. She was actually on that HBO show with Stephen Merchant (Hello Ladies) and her character was really good. If she just stayed genuine and let her career play out she’d get so much more positive feedback and coverage.

Jenny Slate would have given a left kidney to have a picture like that with Chris. He was so over her as soon as SLOP happened. He just had to play along to keep her from spilling anymore secrets. Maybe this new guy will actually show her some attention. She desperately needs it. I hope she doesn’t use him for clicks. Maybe at 40 she’ll finally grow up.
