Lupita Nyong’o has been making the rounds to promote Us, which is Jordan Peele’s follow-up to the wildly successful Get Out. Us is straight-up horror, and Lupita has been having fun promoting it thus far. When she was in Austin for SXSW last week, she did a strange look that involved foil in her hair and colored contacts. She’s been wearing red and yellow contacts to a few different events, and then last night, she used the yellow contacts for her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

My general feeling is that Lupita is having fun with it and she likes blending some “horror” styles into her promotional tour. But I also feel like… can we not?? Those yellow contacts are freaky. And as freaky as the contacts are in photos, they’re even crazier in motion. Here’s the interview with Colbert – he was totally freaked out too! Lupita also spills some details about Us, details which I haven’t heard but I don’t think they’re really spoilers. I mean, we’ve seen the trailer – we know the doppelgangers exist. Lupita is otherwise charming here!
