Yesterday, there were some exclusive photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex out and about in London. You can see the photos at PopSugar (link below) – Meg and Harry are enjoying the last weeks of her pregnancy, and they seemingly made a day trip to a Kensington shop called Ilapothecary.

What I find charming here is that Harry is at the stage of Meghan’s pregnancy where he doesn’t want to leave her alone – this trip was probably something she wanted to do and he was like “I will take you, you’re too pregnant to go on your own.” As for the shop, well… of course the Daily Mail makes it seem like the height of touchy-feely California New Age BS.
The Duchess of Sussex visited a wellbeing boutique that offers a range of homeopathic treatments for new mothers and products that are ‘blessed with healing chants’, it can be revealed. Accompanied by her husband Prince Harry, Meghan – who is just weeks away from giving birth to her first child – spent two-and-a-half hours at the flagship Ilapothecary store in Kensington, west London, on Friday.
Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Donna Karan are customers at the store, according to the shop’s website, where products on offer include a £46 Feminine Happy Oil. It is not known which treatments Meghan opted for at the New Age shop, but its website says it uses ‘cutting-edge synergy of naturopathy, homeopathy, herbology and phyto-actives… Our products are infused with powerful remedial ingredients to counteract the stresses of modern living, environmental and digital pollution, mental stress and body fatigue. Ilapothecary products nurture mind, body, skin and soul; to strengthen, balance, hydrate and heal.’
The shop in Notting Hill bases its product names on numerology, a mystical belief that says there is a relationship between numbers and world events. The venue also plays vibrations that staff claim attune the body ‘with the natural frequency of the universe’.
Numerology you say? Lord, I hope Meghan doesn’t give birth on Hitler’s birthday (April 20). Sorry, that was my first thought when I heard “numerology” and thought about giving birth in April. Anyway, I doubt that Harry and Meghan visited this shop because they just had to look at some numerology charts or whatever. She probably just wanted some nice lotions or oils, that would be my guess.
Also: they’re obviously in London right now, which means they’re still in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. Reportedly, the renovation on Frogmore Cottage still isn’t done and likely won’t be done by the birth of Polo Baby. Which means that in all likelihood, Meghan will opt to give birth in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s. There is so much back and forth on this, I can’t keep up with all of the speculation. But that’s my speculation: she’ll go to the Lindo Wing. It’s safe and secure and close-by.

I love nice, organic oils and lotions any day, they can be so relaxing and pampering and I think all pregnant women need all of that! I am fully convinced by now that Meghan takes really good care of her body in general, too because srsly HOW has she avoided swelling anywhere at 9mos! She isn’t really short or tall so it could have gone either way – some ladies remain beanpoles with a bump, some (like me) get Jessica Simpson-style. But Meghan had a big noticeable bump since day one so I thought she’d be more big all over by the end, but she’s so in shape! She looks great.
Also, serious question: how tall is she irl? The internet lists her as 5’7. And lists Harry as 6’1. But in pics where she’s even wearing 4″heels she looks about 6″+ shorter than him. I modeled in HS for a minute and I’m 5’5 but you have to list as 5’7+ to book certain types of gigs, so I’m guessing that’s what Meg did and the internet just lists her comp-card height. Irl I’m betting she’s more like 5’4-5’5? I really have no clue tho. JW

You’re spot on – one of the Go Fug Yourself girls said they interviewed her back in the day and that they put her at 5’4″ based on them standing next to each other. Some of the sites saying she’s 5’7″-ish are definitely fudging the numbers a bit.
Kate stands much taller than Meghan, so there’s no way Meghan is 5’7″. I’d guess Kate at 5’8″ and Meghan at 5’4″.

One of my sisters got married on April 20th because of the date, and it had nothing to do with Hitler. 😉 My mom couldn’t understand why we all laughed when she (my sister) told us the date they picked and that my brother- in- law would never forget their anniversary, lol.

Daily Fail comments are always crazy. They believe Meghan has Harry under some black magic spell, and it’s their job to save him. I don’t know why some people treat Harry as if he’s still a child.

Odd pap pictures; Harry’s being defensive blocking shots like he didn’t expect to see them there. Meanwhile, Meghan is busy smiling away like she knew to expect them.

Nothing odd about it. Harry was blocking the flash from his face – which can literally blind you and if you’re trying to walk and help your pregnant wife is an issue. Meghan is smiling because she is always smiling. The woman doesnt have resting bitch face. She always looks pleasant. And the flash wasnt directedly in her eyes – unlike Harry.
Looks like Meghan was still talking to the person in the shop as they exited and was smiling from that interaction. Harry got the flashes in the face, and of course Meghan would smile because her protective husband is getting her out of there safely.
But I’m sure the tumblr and RD crowds are already spinning lies about this.
I wouldn’t read too much into the expressions. For example, people laugh in uncomfortable situations and it doesn’t mean anything. Or, she doesn’t want to be accused of having RBF. Who knows.
When I walk down the hall in my office and someone is walking toward me I usually flash a quick grin. It’s an unconscious thing, I don’t like scowling at strangers. I reserve that for my teenager.
The British media refused to print them because Harry and Meghan were upset they were taken. So, I don’t think she was as happy as she looks.

Most of the times you see people blocking their faces in paparazzi pictures it’s not because they’re some unreasonable bitchy divas who don’t want attention, it’s because of the camera flashes. It’s why you see celebs wearing sunglasses so often even indoors or at night.
Maybe he wasn’t blocking them at all. Maybe he had just finished a quick ‘wave’ to them, and was turning away. You can read anything into it that you wish.
Also, while it’s nice to see the candid shots of them out and about, I don’t see why Harry needs to be touted as some sort of charming hero because he went out shopping with his wife. Like, don’t a lot of men do that?
You want Meghan to be angry and give the two-finger salute (or whatever you Brits call it, lol) like Princess Anne did? She looks like she’s responding to something Harry said and that why she’s smiling. Plus she is not looking directly at the camera like she’s posing.

I know he didn’t actually say that and I sort of doubt he feels that way…but is this where we are? We think that’s charming? First of all, she never goes anywhere alone. Second of all, women the world over go out on their own (because they *have* to) until they give birth. I really doubt we’d find this a charming narrative if certain other individuals were thought to be thinking or saying that.
I don’t find it charming, I was on public transportation by myself up until my due date. Twice. Because I had to go to work like every other pregnant woman.

It’s not that serious. He just seems like he’s an anxious/excited first time dad who feels like his wife could go into labor at any moment & doesn’t want to miss a second of it.
I know an April 20th bday! His parents both enjoyed smoking – not while pregnant of course – during grad school. It was kind of funny. 4/20 baby.
I just hope it’s not the 23rd, Louis’s first birthday, because somehow the press would turn it into her “stealing” the day from Kate or some sh!t even though obviously she can’t control when she goes into labor!

I don’t know if it’s “you’re too pregnant to go out on your own.” I’m pretty sure it’s more like he worries about her, because there are legitimate hateful, “I want to kill you” threats against her. He loves Meghan, he knows how vicious both the press and crazy people can be, and if his presence can mitigate that to an extent of course he’s going to do it. Besides making press releases, and their security team, there is really little that Harry can do to protect her from this awful onslaught of negativity — that’s got to be frustrating as hell for him. This is one pro-active thing he can do to keep his family safe and maybe also gives them both a bit of solace in this crazy time.
