A couple of days ago, when we covered the story about Jennifer Garner’s April Fool’s Day prank, some of you speculated in the comments that she have be broken up with her boyfriend, restaurant technology innovator John Miller, at some point. We haven’t seen them out together in ages and she gets photographed basically every day. Well US Magazine had a story leading up to the weekend which I missed because it was just a little update they buried. A source tells them that Jennifer and John are doing great, thanks for asking, and that she loves that he’s “a simple guy” who is “not in the entertainment industry.” US also repeated a source quote from back in January that they wouldn’t be surprised if these two got engaged by the summer.
Jennifer Garner is more than happy to keep her romance with beau John Miller out of the spotlight — and she doesn’t mind that his career draws less attention than hers.
“They’re doing great,” a source exclusively reveals of the private pair in the new issue of Us Weekly. “[Jennifer] loves that he’s not in the entertainment industry and is just a simple guy.”
“No one would be surprised if they got engaged by summer. John has discussed marrying Jen,” a second insider exclusively told Us in January, noting that the Peppermint star “admires John because he is just normal.”
Garner’s three kids with Affleck — Violet, 13, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 7 — also approve of their mom’s boyfriend, who she is “very much in love” with, added the second source.
So just in case you were wondering, since Ben Affleck has been seen out so often with Lindsay Shookus, Jennifer is doing fine with her boyfriend. I get the impression she would rather show this with a photo op but that he’s not keen on doing that. Meanwhile there was a rumor that Ben Affleck’s girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, is pregnant. I wouldn’t have heard about it except for Gossip Cop debunking it. Apparently an outlet saw Lindsay’s Bed Bath and Beyond bag, where she was shopping for pillows over the weekend with John, and because it said “Buy Buy Baby” they thought it was from a baby store. There’s a Buy Buy Baby store inside the Bed Bath and Beyond but it’s just a combo bag for both stores. Lindsay isn’t pregnant according to the source who spoke to Gossip Cop. For all you can say about Ben, and there’s plenty because his last girlfriend we know about was a 22 year-old Playboy model, he’s dating a woman around his age and I doubt either of them are clamoring for more kids. Same with Jennifer Garner.

I remember reading comments to one of these JGarn updates, probably on this site, a couple months ago from someone with either personal inside PR knowledge or they read on a blind gossip site that they are already engaged for a while now but her PR has to send out little updates every month or whatever saying things are great! things are getting serious! they might get engaged! they’re engaged! so everyone thinks she’s taking an appropriate amount of time after the divorce to get serious with someone else.
i’m probably not the demographic this whole PR plan is targeted to but who really gives AF how quickly she moves on. their divorce took 47 years to finalize i’m sure she’s been over IT for years now
According to a twitter sighting she and Ben and the kids are in the Bahamas, or they were as of 2 days ago. The boyfriend hasn’t been seen in a long time. Just saying.
They seem to really be able to vacation together – it’s impressive. Makes sense they are in Bahamas – it’s spring break. I don’t think it says anything about her “relationship ” – he had told the world he is back with the shook. I doubt she is in the Bahamas with them either.

He could be simple in the sense of not being addicted to booze, gambling or random side pieces. That would probably be a refreshing change.
I like Jen a lot better now that she’s away from Ben. It seems like he sucks the life and fun out of every partner.
@kate I read that blind too. I guess by the summer we’ll find if it’s true gossip or not. And I think “simple” was a poor choice of words but what they (friend? pUblicist? Jen?) meant to do was compare him to Ben, who everyone and his brother has called a “complicated” guy.
Affleck isn’t complicated, he’s just not the person Garner wanted him to be. She wasted years trying to figure him out and change him, all while saying “he’s just sooooo complicated!” but really, she just couldn’t accept that she didn’t like who he really was, the choices that he made, etc.
Being in a relationship with an addict is complicated. Because they lie and disappoint themselves and everyone who counts on them and life with them is never straightforward. Simple is a compliment.
When a guy says a woman is complicated , complicated is code for B$tch. When a woman says a guy is complicated, it is also a nice way to say he is a real a$$hole. It speaks volumes that Paltrow, Lopez, & now Garner have all described Ben as ” complicated.”
To call her boyfriend ” simple “is a huge compliment!
