In 2016, when Wikileaks leaked the hacked emails of Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, we saw some sent by Tom DeLonge, former Blink-182 member and a vocal believer in extraterrestrials. As Hecate wrote, Podesta was of a similar mind, and DeLonge wanted to arrange a meeting between Podesta and some government bigwigs who could back him up. While Podesta never responded to those emails, a calendar confirmation from January 2016 indicates that a Susan McCasland Wilkerson accepted an invitation to a “DeLonge/Podesta Meeting.” Understandably, given the chaos surrounding emails, Hillary Clinton, and October 2016, you might have forgotten this.
If, like DeLonge, you are interested in space and what else could be out there, his media company, To the Stars, has a series you’ll want to check out. Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation, began airing this past Friday on the History Channel. People has an interview with DeLonge describing the series, which has the involvement of many former military and government officials.
First off, what would you say to a nonbeliever, somebody who really has trouble wrapping their mind around all this, to get them to sit down and watch this show?
I think I would tell them there finally exists a body of evidence, that is very tangible and very real, for them to consider. For a long period of time, material was largely classified, and it was classified for good reasons — for issues dealing with national security. But thanks to the partners at To The Stars Academy, we now have a vehicle to transition a lot of those learnings over to the public for the first time. So for the people that don’t want to believe that this could be real, or this really counteracts their own personal belief systems, this is now an era where we have the evidence for people to look at, to digest, and hopefully — over time — get them to a place where they can live with this reality…
The men and women at the Department of Defense, and the CIA, and other intelligence organizations — after I learned more about this subject than I already knew, I walked away saying, “These guys are national heroes.” I mean, the stuff they’re dealing with is so far out, and frankly unnerving, that I don’t think the people are ready for all of it. And I don’t think they actually need to know all of it, just like my kids don’t need to know exactly what terrorists are doing, but they kind of need to know that terrorists exist. It’s a little bit of that, if that makes sense…

I’m doing this because we need it, and I’m sick of people like my brother going off to war, to fight with our neighbors, with our brothers. We should not be killing each other over anything on this planet.
People reminds us of the December 2017 New York Times piece “that confirmed the existence of the Pentagon’s hidden Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).” The program was “defunded in 2012, [but] it remained operational under the direction of military intelligence official Luis Elizondo until October 2017.” Elizondo left the post because of his belief that the Department of Defense wasn’t taking the program’s work seriously. He is featured in DeLonge’s program, pursuing the truth about unexplained occurrences that might indicate that UFOs have visited Earth. Given the involvement of former military and intelligence community members in the series, I’m admittedly curious about what they’ll end up discovering/discussing.

Back in the day I used to think he was so hot. Just smokin’ hot, I couldn’t put my finger on why exactly.
Anyway, I remember reading about this a couple years ago and immediately dismissing him as a kook. But now I’m not sure what to make of it all, seems like anything is possible. In fact, the idea of alien overlords doesn’t sound so bad now compared to what we have these days, lol.
NYT has covered several stories in the last year on some of the evidence Tom has helped release. Aso programs an evidence the government has high ranked eyewitnesses, etc….They are actually well written articles regarding how the government has a secret investigative program and video evidence from our air craft.
I’m pretty sure he IS a kook. He’s had a pill problem before. He’s incredibly unreliable. Whenever he’s asked about anything – even if he’s asked to give ANY kind of tidbit he just says “big things are coming” or “oh I can’t talk about that now”.

It’s cool he’s pursuing this, with so many of these celebrities I wonder why they don’t do more with their fame/money/social capital… I want to believe 🙂
I wanted to marry this man so badly back in like 1999-2000. I also pierced my own nipple with a safety pin around the same time, so suffice it to say, I am much wiser now.
Yeah…we’re not the only ones in the universe …that seems like common sense. I just hope I don’t have to live through a War of the Worlds or Signs type of moment. But this isn’t something I worry about.
The complex cocktail of chemicals and interactions between them required to create life makes it a very rare thing, very prohibitive. I always cast doubt on people who think aliens are just parading around our galaxy, making pit stops at Earth when they feel. The planets in our solar system posses very hostile environments. The travel time alone is also incredibly extensive, almost inconceivable.
But it would be completely myopic to assume, rather arrogantly, that no other life exists anywhere in the universe.
I always wondered (as someone with not a scientific bone in my body so perhaps this has already been answered and I just didn’t understand it) how we know our definition of “life” is the same across the universe? Perhaps there is life that is not carbon based, but an entirely different unknown element all together, that water is not necessary but something completely bizarre to us is what sustains that life? or microscopic compared to our size? or would it look like something we can’t even comprehend? or (cue the dun dun duuunnn music) are aliens distant humans thousands of years in the future, evolved to look slightly humanoid but none the less “alien”…. I loved how “aliens” were portrayed in Annihilation as it seems like that would be more realistic: a nondescript “force”, an energy, something that can’t be articulated.
@Sunnydaze that is what I wonder too! I think it’s really close-minded of us to assume that other life forms will require water, carbon, and oxygen just because that’s how WE evolved. Even planets that are considered hostile to life are just hostile to life as we know it.
I think we have to be prepared for things beyond what we can understand. I’m so glad to hear I’m not alone in thinking this.
The problem is we have nothing to compare life with so we don’t have any way to look at it except through the lens we know and understand.
The NY Times just came out with an article a few days ago with pilots talking about seeing flying objects and lights in the sky when they were flying. There is a lot of information out there, it’s just not in the regular news. And the legit information is mixed in with hoaxers, so you gotta be careful what you believe.
I met this guy at my job and he told me a really creepy story about his father. I didn’t believe in alien abductions until he told me that story. Even in his father’s last days, he was hallucinating about what happened to him. And it’s when it clicked to this guy the random things his father would say to him sometimes.
The “Navy Pilots Were Seeing UFOs on an Almost Daily Basis in 2014 and 2015” one, right? I read too, it was really fascinating, and I came away thinking “OMG, aliens are here and have been for years, for real, and now the American government is slowly making it official and WHY are they doing this??”. It feels as if they are… preparing us for a reveal, letting this seep more and more into the general public’s consciousness? I’m expecting the next few years to bring big news now! It’s exciting, but also… scary. I think it was Hawking who said we shouldn’t seek out other civilizations, as the odds they were friendly/peaceful were very low… I wonder if we’ll find out in our lifetime!
They released a very in very article about a year ago as we. It was bit of a series with pilots giving their account to the Times.
I believe we would be fools to think we are the only intelligent life in the universe and beyond. I’ve never seen any proof myself but I think that it boils down to logic and common sense.
I love the History Channel. Yes of course there’s “life” everywhere! I don’t think humans can sense or understand everything that’s happening. I think plants are smarter than us, and animals of course are too.
A former minister of national defense in Canada made a speech about this.
He said we are in contact with different alien races, who have visited earth.
We have advanced technology from reverse engineering. He said at one point that they would have shared technology that could help solve many of our problems, but we are inclined to use it for destructive purposes.
And now military personnel are speaking up about it, and I expect as private companies pursue space exploration there will be more reports.
I don’t know about that, honestly.
My grandfathers name comes up in relation to a specific Alien story that happened in my province. He was the CO on the base at the time of the supposed crash. He was a man of his word, and NEVER would talk about the confidential aspects of his job. He’d openly laugh whenever this incident is brought up.
I mean – do I think we’re the only possible life out there? Probably not. But I also don’t know if I believe we’ve been in contact with anything either. There are a lot of wacky people out there in all lines of work – so I do take sightings with a huge grain of salt.
I recently saw Prof. Brian Cox’s Universe lecture/show and it was mind blowing. He touched on what would need to occur for sentient life and how some planets might have been habitable billions of years ago and aren’t any longer. It’s in constant flux. The graphics and science were cutting edge and even my scientist father left the room amazed at how he held the room with “physics and space talk”. It was scary and reassuring all at the same time. I will take a thoroughly researched professor’s opinion on UFO flying aliens (or lack thereof) over a member of Blink 182 any day…

I don’t know… When this guy came out with his beliefs a few years ago, he was thouroughly ridiculed, but now, in light of the recent revelations… Did you know about the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program? I had completely missed that news… With the recent articles, it’s looking more and more like aliens have showed up and been observed by many people with solid reputations, like it’s almost an open secret in certain circles, and like the curtain is gonna keep lifting for the rest of us… His show seems to be a part of that. Time will tell, I guess!
My husband has an Ivy League science background. He and I witnessed an orb up close on our property in a previous home on the west coast. I assure you this was not Earthly and not spectral. It was very real and very advanced. I was afraid to go for walks in our neighborhood after the incident.
I remember clearly seeing a funky flying object one night in the Phoenix area – I lived in Chandler then. It was bright, flew in super fast in a straight line from north to south, stopped south of Phoenix, did a sharp right angle turn and flew straight up out if view. I went inside!
I think he’s a nut but let me just say that I do believe in ETs, so to speak, but I think they are higher powers or something than we are and they think of us like we think of ants; kind of interesting but not worth their time. I don’t think they care about us and I don’t think they are a threat.
You know I spent 22 years in the US Air Force and I’ve met pilots and astronauts who saw things.
They didn’t tell anyone until they retired because a thing like that will get you benched.

I’ve been to 51. I was stationed in New Mexico- if you know what I mean- and I never saw anything but late one night on my way home from work here in CO, I saw something and it was over DIA.
I know what a plane in distress looks like and at first I thought that was what it was. It wasn’t that. It just… blew up and then vanished like something out of Star Trek and, no, I wasn’t high! 😉
I actually pulled off the road said, “Oh, sh*t!” out loud to no one and waited for debris to fall and a plane to crash into the city but nothing happened.
It could not be explained and others reported seeing it too and the USAF was like, “It wasn’t us!” and I believe them. Something similar was recorded on a State Troopers dash cam shortly before that. No one could explain it but the Trooper had to change his pants.
Some say, “Oh it was a test plane or weather balloon.” No. This is different.
I think we would have to be pretty fat-headed to believe we are the only (semi) intelligent creatures in the entire universe.
I just don’t think they exist like Hollywood portrays them.
