Eww Jerry O’Connell…I seriously doubt your tween daughters want to see your bulge in Christmas or any other time! Put some pants on!

Tiffany Haddish has two menorahs lit in the picture, I’ve been noticing that a lot on social media. Is that a thing, to light multiple menorahs?

I’ve only ever lit one at a time and now I’m wondering if I’m missing something.

It’s not unusual to light every menorah you own, but it’s not required. We have a couple we bought years ago and then later had a menorah-making night with the kids as part of Chanukah fun, so now we have a lot of chanukiyot we light. There is a custom amongst various communities for every member of a family to have their own menorah, though. And it certainly makes the room brighter. ☺️

    • BellaBella says:

Nah. It’s not a thing. Keep it simple on Hannukah, just like every other Jewish holiday and ritual.

      • MrsBanjo says:

They’re rarely simple, and there are many different minhagim depending on community; some simple, some more involved and ornate. They should do it in a way that makes them comfortable.

It IS the “Festival of Lights”, so I say knock yourself out lol 😄 I have one (electric) menorah on the mantle, surrounded by double strings of blue and white fairy lights. They illuminate the crystal in a way that makes it look like snow 😊. I also strung the lights around the media cabinet, and outside on the balcony rail. It looks SO pretty! I love decorating for the holidays, and I say: do *whatever* makes you happy/brings you joy 😊

Wishing all my fellow CBers Happy Holidays, whatever and however you choose to celebrate!

Apparently it is a mitzvah (blessing) to have your menorah showing to the outside world. Many people thus have two, one for the table, one for the window (usually electric to not burn the house down). Thus, taking pictures of the two together. However, being social media and extra, the both are actual candles. Leading to grumpy complaining about encouraging foolish people to have unattended candles in the windows (and you know from their social media that they have a cat!)

This is assuming the holiday season is slow enough that you want the hot gossip from my knitting group.

    • MrsBanjo says:

I’ve seen a lot more people complaining about the flames this year than before. As if we haven’t been doing this for eons, lol.

      • Mo says:

This was a handknit sweaters and Birkenstocks older Jewish lefty lady who doesn’t trust the youngin’s not to burn the house down. Admittedly she’s on the board of her condo association, which is made up of several older houses turned condos, so she has more reason to worry than most.

    • MrsBanjo says:

      Ah, yeah, that makes sense.

I feel for her! I’m an adult convert to a different religious faith which also has a lot of traditions. Food, feasts, days of fasting, days of observation, etc.

Things that most people in the faith take for granted isn’t taught during conversion classes, and we’re left not knowing, feeling dumb.

    Glad she got some help!

  5. BendyWindy says:

Lol. Tiff, that’s still not right. 😂

Donald Trump is also in a rage about a 2014 edit of Home Alone where he was edited out. So proud to be Canadian right now 😜🇨🇦

I *so* wish there were “likes” here for comments lol.

I LOVE that CBC edited out Trump. He truly added nothing to the movie. He was probably only in the movie as a strategic move by the movie producers (because the movie was shot in his hotel). He probably also begged them. He is in “Eloise in the Plaza” movie also. It was jarring to see him in both movies because it takes you out of the movie bubble. I didn’t like seeing him in those movies and that was ages b4 he was president. Of course he whined on Twitter. Can he not feel anything without expressing it on Twitter? Is it not real to him unless he posts it to Twitter?

Hmm. I stopped listening to Lainey’s podcast (it was good but I found it repetitive and too lengthy) but I may go back for that episode.
Jerry…ew. But their house is lovely.

  8. msd says:

That diocese payout sounds good but when you work out the number of victims it’s not very much at all.

    • ChillyWilly says:

Totally agree, msd. The Catholic Church doesn’t give two $hits about their victims. Have you seen The Keepers on Netflix? Very well done and heart breaking documentary.

  9. Brittney B says:

He’s actually in those films (and many others) because that’s the only way he’d let them film in his properties. So typical.

  10. Joanna says:

I’m glad Tiffany is doing good. She had a rough childhood.

  11. JanetFerber says:

Suddenly she’s in everything and I love it. Can’t wait for her new movie with Salma Hayek and Rose Byrne when it comes out January 10. My husband and I will go. Nothing like a fun comedy these days.
