Donny Smallhands & his clowns are getting the war with Iran they all wanted

US-NEWS-TRUMP-IMPEACHMENT-ZUM

Donald Trump and his clown show administration are trying to screech America into war with Iran. On one side, this is what the Republican party has seriously wanted for two decades (by my count). The GOP tried to get George W. Bush to make “war with Iran” into a bigger thing, but he was already dealing with the self-made crisis (or Cheney-made crisis) of Iraq, plus the necessary crisis in Afghanistan. Throughout the Obama presidency, the Republicans incessantly claimed that Obama was soft on Iran, when all he did was keep us out of a costly escalation of warfare and clusterf–kery. And so here we are. Trump assassinated (yes, he did) an Iranian general using faulty intelligence and now Iran has sent ballistic missiles targeting American bases in Iraq.

Iran fired multiple missiles into Iraq on Tuesday evening, targeting U.S. military sites in what appeared to be retaliation for the recent American drone strike that killed one of its top generals.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps swiftly took credit, and one Iranian politician tweeted his nation’s flag — an apparent swipe at President Donald Trump who tweeted the American flag after the U.S. killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

“We warn the Great Satan, the arrogant American regime that any new invasions and aggression will result in more painful and pounding responses,” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated.

Later, Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeted, “Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched.”

“We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression,” he added.

[From ABC News]

“Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense…” It’s weird that in the year 2020, we Americans are praying for Iranian military to use restraint when dealing with the nutjob in the White House. I feel sorry for the American troops and for the Iraqis who were killed in the Iranian strikes. I wish there was some way to send the MAGA Army to “fight” in this war.

Everyone keeps saying “well, Hillary was right.” OF COURSE HILLARY WAS RIGHT. We knew she was f–king right in 2016 when motherf–kers were whining about Bernie and But Her Emails. Donny Smallhands is literally starting a world war with a nuclear-armed hostile nation because they made fun of him on Twitter. I can’t.

We can fund endless wars in this country, bUT HoW aRe We GoiNg tO pAy FoR hEAltHcARe?1!?

    • Emily says:

      THIS.

How is it that America, with the biggest army in the world, cannot afford healthcare like so many smaller countries can. Because for some reason there is a culture of death and violence. Prisons and guns and nuclear weapons are a higher priority than education, healthcare and the environment.

      • Esmom says:

It’s beyond effed up. I’m starting to really hate it here, seeing how many on the right are just fine with all this.

      • Agirlandherdog says:

And on top of that, the people who have been fighting those wars receive substandard healthcare because quality healthcare providers won’t accept government insurance.

    • Bella DuPont says:

Also, his hands do took especially truncated in that last picture. Brilliant match to the Donny SmallHands narrative. 😁👍

    • Diane says:

      It’s all about making money.

  2. Lurker says:

Ive reached a new level of despair that I didn’t know I could. I honestly hate that man and I wish he gone. And by gone I mean GONE. Come @ me Secret Service. He’s such a fucking Buffoon… and we are all paying for his buffoonery 😩

    • Christina says:

      +1.

    • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Yup. My middle son is in the Air Force…I just texted him my love and concern. I absolutely hate that he’s serving under this megalomaniac.

      • Esmom says:

Oh yikes. Wishing him safety and strength to get through this.

      • sealit says:

My husband is finally retiring after 24 years in the Navy. Except for that pesky 4 year recall contract he had to sign. I guess we’re going to find out if that’s actually a thing.

    • Usd2bfun says:

      💯💯💯💯

    • whatWHAT? says:

I want him gone, too, but even if he goes, his cult of followers is left behind.

there’s no going back to what we had before he took office. there are too many “knowns” about our fellow Americans.

we need to take out entities like Fox “News”, too. they’re not news, they’re straight up lies and propaganda and they’ve been feeding this monster for too long.

      • Esmom says:

Yes. Fox is hugely responsible for all this. Until they’re gone, the MAGA culture will endure.

      • Bella DuPont says:

Mitch McConnell. Take out Monster Mitch. He is the original cancer cell that keeps the tumour that is Trump’s base alive and vibrant.

    • Ashipper says:

Me too. I’ve been having a hard time watching the news because I can’t handle the rage it brings up in me. The fact that Donald Trump has been given such immense power and support really makes me weep for the future of our country.

    • petee says:

      Me too.

    • Mac says:

I have been to Iran. The people of Iran are no more represented by their government than we are by Donny Smallhands and Moscow Mitch. Corrupt people with unchecked power are the scariest thing on earth.

  3. boredblond says:

So many predicted he would create some chaotic distraction from impeachment…wag the doggie. Since little from this WH is true, it’s a safe bet there was no ‘imminent danger’, but that will be covered up too.

    • Agirlandherdog says:

This. He may be an idiot, but he knows how to distract and misdirect. He’ll manufacture a war, rally the people around “patriotism,” and start screaming about how dangerous a change in leadership would be during “this hostile time.” And it will work.

In college, I wrote my thesis on the psychological tools used in the development of the modern propaganda machine in WWI. Here we are a century after WWI. And 20 years since my thesis. And I could apply every single one of those points to Trump’s propaganda machine.

    • Mac says:

This is a man who told us the IC has it wrong and Russia didn’t meddle in our elections. Are we supposed to believe he suddenly started accepting intel at face value?

      • Yes. We shall see but as of now, I do not believe that we were in imminent danger. Many don’t. Mr. Trump has broken military protocol on several occasions. That is truly frightening. The Trump Kushners and the Republicans blindly supporting them now is what the true imminent danger is at this time.

  4. Jerusha says:

I wish there were a way to make all the keyboard warriors-male and female-enlist right now and get shipped to the front line. 17 to 67, I don’t care. Suit ‘em up! Ship ‘em out! Bring them home in body bags. Think that’ll wake up the MAGAts? Nah, probably not.

    • Chica1971 says:

Iran is 80 million with more than 50% of the population eligible for military enlistment. Not sure US can compete. Let’s see if Trump resumes allowing immigrants to join military.

    • Kelly says:

I have one of those as an in-law via marriage and his mindless jingoism facebook postings have gotten tiring enough that I’ve muted him. The really sad part is that he’s aged out of the Selective Service age range, so he won’t be shipping out to the Middle East unless he enlists. I highly doubt he’ll back up his keyboard warrior rhetoric and enlist because it’s all talk and he’s a convicted felon who has served jail time for multiple DUIs.

If there is a conventional war, I’m not sure that there will be enough people enlisted and willing to enlist based on the reactions I’ve seen. There’s a lot of justified skepticism and cynicism about the rationale for the actions taken so far. It’s really telling that the anti-war protests in major cities last weekend that were well attended.

If there is a draft, the age range will have to be expanded up to the maximum allowed by the Selective Service, which is 35, and possibly include women. My sister worked as a civilian contractor for the Army’s Public Health Command and she said that even with loosening physical standards for enlistment and criteria for mandatory discharge, she was very skeptical that many men in the age group 18-26 would pass the current ones. She thought that women would be more likely to pass the physical fitness requirements than men. Both of thought that those who have the privilege of good insurance and access to doctors would be trying to get any medical exemption they could.

      • Jerusha says:

I feel for anyone currently in the military. And I don’t know why anyone would join at this time with a narcissistic sociopath at the helm.

  5. Eyfalia says:

I read a comment yesterday and I agree that this comment describes him and his behaviour very well. I translated it into English and I fear, did not very well.

“Trump is a classic construction-pimp. Gets building plots with a bit of corruption, pulls up buildings cheaply, rents them out expensively. The craftsmen are fobbed off for their bills at the slightest problem.

You can get rich this way, but there is nothing more, especially since father and grandfather were already in this business. World politics is another matter altogether.”

  6. Chica1971 says:

I saw folks calling out Susuan Sarandon and Maureen Dowd over their beliefs that Hillary was a warmonger! Kinda prophetic how HRC really had Trump’s number. Love how Warren shut up Dumband Entitled Meghan yesterday.

It really sucks for the military folks because they do not have a Commander in Chief, just ego strokers and enablers like Esper and Pompeo. I’ve gave up on Mattis and Bolton doing the right thing and exposing the incompetence of this administration. My guess is Iran will back off given that they have warned that US proxies like Kuwait and Dubai will be attacked if the US retaliates. There attack was also strategic in that they damaged the base but did not kill any soldiers. Unfortunately Netanyahu needs a war to stay in power and MBS wants one too. Yep, it’s on Iran and happy to see the Europeans sit this out..let Donnie clean up his meds for a change..

  7. AnnaKist says:

Blind Freddie saw this coming. He and his “advisors” should be drawn and quartered. And now, our Prime Minister, Mr Babyhamds’ little Aussie mate, Scott Morrison, is looking at how he might be likely to help this unhinged twat in this war. Another one who was warned, after the election last May, about the catastrophic bushfire season we’d face come Summer. They were wrong, because the fires started at the end of Winter and have only increased in intensity, with almost apocalyptic results. But he thought it was still okay to just swan off to Hawaii in the middle of it all. Bloody pig-headed (sorry, piggies!), arrogant conservatives. Grrrrr!

  8. PlayItAgain says:

On election night, I said we’d be lucky if we could get through his four years without people dying or being plunged into a stupid war. That was the best we could hope for. Sometimes I hate being right.

    We are so screwed.

  9. Swack says:

Last night was horrible for me. My grandson is in the Navy and thankfully in Norfolk right now. But that doesn’t mean he can’t deploy at any time. He was on the USS John Stennis in Dec in the Gulf when the Iranians fired missiles near it. I pray for those in imminent danger because of Trump.

    • Esmom says:

Oh, Swack. Keeping him and you in my thoughts and prayers for all those potentially in harm’s way.

    • Giddy says:

Swack, I always think of that wonderful quote “ They also serve who only stand and wait.” I send my prayers to all our military and to you and all family members who “also serve.”

    • Swack says:

      Thanks Giddy and Esmom!

  10. Lola says:

    Please not Trump 2020.
It think it’s going to happen

    • naomipaige99 says:

It might, because all of the mopes who voted for him are still willing to vote for him again. It’s pretty scary. He’s mentally unstable, and that is who these mopes want to run the country!!!

    • Jerusha says:

Of course, if we all take this defeatist attitude. We need to stiffen our spines now and agree Vote Blue No Matter Who. And that includes the Third Partiers. They need to recognize there is no viable Third Party on the national level yet.

  11. Elizabeth says:

Don’t get me wrong, this is an evil nightmare. However Iran doesn’t currently have nuclear capabilities. Our leadership just gave them an excuse to discard Obama’s nuclear deal with them, and they’ve returned to the path to nuclear weapons.

I saw another article that suggested extremist conservative Christians view war between Iran and Israel as a harbinger of the End Times and it’s not just the usual hawkishness but religious inanity also?

    • Lightpurple says:

Pompeo and Pence are both seeking to bring on Armageddon, expect no sanity from them. And Bolton has wanted this his whole life.

What the MAGATs don’t get is that we are in this alone. Not a single member of NATO has come out in support of Trump. Canada made it known that it, unlike Putin, received no notice of the attack on Soleimani and had to scramble to get its people to safety. If Trump goes after civilian targets and cultural sites, we will face embargoes and sanctions. We aren’t energy independent, as Trump claims, and we get large amounts of our food supply from elsewhere. Embargoes will hurt.

Several experts on Iran tactics said last night that this is far from over. Iran takes its time and strikes where least expected. None of our military or state department outposts are safe and they are all grossly understaffed, thanks to Trump.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Celebitchies with family members serving.

And I’m waiting for TPUSA founder & MAGAT extraordinaire Charlie Kirk to tweet himself into a medical emergency.

    • Algernon says:

We should be talking way more about the holy war aspect of this. Fundamental evangelicals believe stoking mideast unrest will bring about Armageddon (an ex-fundie acquaintance explained that community started getting restless when nothing happened at Y2K and now they feel the need to *make* the apocalypse happen). We’re so sensitive about religion in this country, especially white religion, so it makes it hard to talk about because people get defensive, but I don’t think most people truly understand how nuts these people are, and they’re the ones in control and deciding if we go to war. Over the last few days I have explained to a few people that fundie evangelicals think war in the middle east will set off the end times and every single time the person looks like a lightbulb went off and they get a real “oh crap” face going. We absolutely need to make this a talking point.

      • Grant says:

This is so, so, so true. I grew up Southern Baptist in Texas… Not necessarily fundamentalist per say but close, and very evangelical. We were absolutely taught this. I remember when those garbage “Left Behind” books about the Rapture were all the rage among the evangelical crowd. As you mentioned, Middle East unrest sets everything in motion in that narrative.

      • Tourmaline says:

Great comment @Algeron. It is totally true. And Pompeo, Barr, Pence, there are a slew of high level US officials that salivate at the chance of a holy war. It’s real.

      • Christin says:

My response to any processing Christian who thinks this can be altered would be, what Bible are they reading? It is clear that no one – including Jesus – knows the day or hour.

I realize there are people and groups who cherry pick what they want to believe, but that part seems crystal clear in the New Testament.

My guess is that the war hawks are also greedy. War and conflict = Money. During one of the past conflicts, an investment representative I know was elated because he said it always helps stocks.

  12. grabbyhands says:

And of course 45 supporters continue to view foreign policy like it is some kind of fucking Chuck Norris movie.

Hilary was too much of a war hawk and Obama made us look weak because he wasn’t dragging us into wars every year, but by god – the guy whose family bought him draft deferments FIVE times and has regularly insulted service members and their families is the guy who is going to show everyone how great our military is and that the US isn’t going to be pushed around anymore.

Pathetic. The asteroid can’t hit this planet fast enough.

  13. Veronica S. says:

I think a lot of us knew something like this would happen. We were just hoping it wouldn’t get to that point.

Understand, though, McConnell and his slimy WH conspirators are the ones really to blame for this. Trump could have been removed months ago, but they’ve fought to keep him in to push their own agenda. They’re monsters and always have been, and now innocent people will pay for it.

And by innocent, I mean Iranians. Americans deserve what’s coming.

  14. MellyMel says:

Yep we knew Hillary was right & that’s why every person that kept saying her and Trump were basically the same got blocked from my life. I literally had to stop watching the news and get off of Twitter last night cause it was giving me major anxiety. I’m soooo ready to vote his ass out of office!!

    • Esmom says:

I had to get off Twitter too. But then switching to FB and seeing people’s inane posts about their dinner or their first class airplane seat had me just as unsettled. I tried to read a book but couldn’t focus on that, either. This era of Trump is seriously a nightmare.

    • Tiffany says:

My ‘Hillary was right’ t-shirt is so worn out right now that I am looking to replace it.

    • L says:

Hillary said said repeatedly that she wanted to attack Iran so how is she any better? Trump, Hillary, Obama are all war mongerers in the end.

      • Veronica S. says:

Clinton said we’d bomb Iran in retaliation *if they launched nuclear weapons at Israel in an aggressive strike,* not that she wanted to strike them for the merry hell of it. Don’t selectively quote people to create a hypothetical false equivalence.

      • L says:

Yeah Clinton said she would bomb if iran dared to bomb israel, israel who kills palestinians daily. She is no different.

      • Veronica S. says:

Yeah, not really arguing American presidents aren’t war criminals here, but there’s a world of difference between stating a stance against a country that’s threatened total nuclear eradication and dissolution of the Jewish-Israel state through a decades-long proxy war and actually making a massive, unwarranted military strike against a country because you want to distract from your massive impeachment corruption scandal. I didn’t trust Clinton to be a pacifist, but I’d trust her to be a little more discerning about the use of force.

  15. Isabelle says:

This is Donnie boys revenge for getting impeached, start a war. He is petty and won’t bat an lash for American blood being shed for his ego. This is all about his impeachment and getting revenge on Congress. He has Narcissistic Personality disorder no doubt and this was of course going to be his reaction.

  16. Giddy says:

Donnie Smallhands (aka Tiny Tallywacker) needs a war to change the subject from being impeached. Mitch probably counseled him to bomb Iran so that he could pull his Senatorial tricks and clear Donnie of all his crimes. We need Statesmen and leaders to tell the truth and then lead us out of this nightmare!

  17. naomipaige99 says:

I read somewhere that if a war is started, those who voted and support DUMP, should be the first one’s recruited. I’m in favor of that!

  18. Marjorie says:

I’ve been following salon.com coverage of the psychiatric profession’s warnings about this malignant narcissist for years. They have an article up today wherein all the shrinks are saying “we told this would happen.”

    • Giddy says:

Yes! And my psychiatrist friend says that requests for Xanax keep hitting new highs. She says that we all should have bought stock the minute Trump was elected.

  19. L says:

No one died. Seems like iran did that deliberately. Their leaders aren’t stupid enough to want a war. They want the US out of the region.

    • ME says:

There is reports of a plane crash in Iran killing all on board…majority were Canadians. Cause of crash unknown at time.

      • ME says:

Oops I need to edit this, the majority killed were Iranians…none the less they were innocent souls. Very sad. I hope this was not due to foul play.

  20. Digital Unicorn says:

Iran is playing to lil Donnie Baby’s ego – they are playing this down for the moment but you can be sure that they are planning to strike back big time when the US isn’t going to expect. AND they will find a way to target him and/or his business interests direct. They are playing him into starting a war and he is stupid enough to do it.

Dump seems to think this is some sort of show or movie – its not and he is going to get a serious dose or reality when Iran or one of their ‘allies’ targets Mar A Lago, you know they are planning it.

  21. ME says:

If you are of Iranian descent it’s total harassment at any Canada/America border crossing right now. The American Immigration Officers must have been told to target Iranians crossing over. It’s ridiculous.

  22. CharlotteLouise says:

“Come on Wall Street, don’t be slow
Why man, this is war au-go-go
There’s plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of its trade
But just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb
They drop it on the Viet Cong”

    – Country Joe and the Fish, 1967

    That’s all I’ve got.

  23. Charfromdarock says:

I couldn’t sleep last night, I was so worried I was going to wake up to nuclear war. There is completely stupid and irrational head of state in the States ( I refuse to write his name) with his hand on the button.

I can’t imagine what those in the Iran and Iraq are going through. Comments were completely disgusting last night online saying it was “only” Iraqis killed in the bombings— as if they weren’t real people with real families and loved ones.

    • Joanna says:

Yeah, it’s so scary! I take an anti anxiety medication and I’m wondering if I need to go to the doctor to get the dose increased. Scary times for sure
