Sharon Choi, Bong Joon-ho’s translator, is really badass. [LaineyGossip]
Olivia Jade Giannulli’s resume is full of lies. [The Blemish]
Kourtney Kardashian ruined Khloe Kardashian’s night out. [JustJared]
Cher’s latest face work, oh my god. [Tom & Lorenzo]

Mike Bloomberg won the Dixville Notch primary. [Towleroad]
Scott Wolf is 51 years old and truly aging like a Rob Lowe. [Seriously OMG]
Bloomberg won both the Republican and Democratic primaries in Dixville Notch and he was a write-in for both. Dixville Notch tends to be conservative so I don’t think the Democrats should care but the fact that none of them voted for Trump and he lost to Bloomberg has to irk.
Ugh…what does it all mean?!?!?! I’m trying so hard not to get my head knotted up in the electable vs the desirable….and now Bloomberg and his millions are adding to the variables.
I’ll stump here in PA for WHOEVER gets the nomination (Warren/Booker for the ticket, please God)…but I’ll probably lose 5 years of my life to this primary wilderness first
Woohoo!!! A shout out to translators and interpreters everywhere! She really was great, and it’s awesome to see our profession getting some recognition 😎🤗
Hey! Fellow interpreter here!!!
Not only does Sharon impress, I’m delighted she’s being acknowledged for her awesomeness. Nothing means more, to me, than showering accolades where they’re deserved, and when the deserved is all business, all the time, there to do a job, do it perfectly with no visible selfish tones WHATSOEVER, and they receive this kind of attention, I’m momentarily proud of us lol.
Sharon Choi rocked it that night! Woo-hoo! She was great.
When Bong Joon Ho was a guest on The Tonight Show, that was when I got a true glimpse of Sharon and the awesomeness that is her. Translation is not the easiest job for anyone but damn, she is a boss at it.
As someone who’s currently studying to be a translator, it was really nice to see her doing the rounds and killing it at what she does. Maybe one day we’ll see her again on the Oscars stage, but receiving an award herself!!
I wonder what Cher looks like minus the photoshop, but damn she looks amazing in that photo.
It’s very much like the photo in Cheap Chic from the 70s.
Translation like interpretation is so difficult. Dubbing too. It’s so hard to find equivalencies while making it fluid and not loosing or mistaking anything. She did an Amazing Job!!! Can’t wait to see what she brings next in her film work!
Beauty Pageant translators for the (Q & A) can make or break a candidate. I know many strong contestants get low scores for that portion despite giving an awesome answer because the translator butchered the translation. Conversely, they can make a weak answer sound impressive.
In big pageants like Miss Universe the translator is often provided by the organization and often they have only one translator for all the Spanish speaking countries. A lot of nuances for each country are lost because the interpreter gave a different or standard meaning.
