Hollywood has always loved British royalty, and British royalty has always exploited Hollywood for ideas, legitimacy and money. I remember when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were first married, and they did their whirlwind North American tour, they also stopped by LA for a BAFTA gala fundraiser. I remember how surprised I was that BAFTA pulled together such a good turnout and so many A-listers, but again, Hollywood loves royals. But will Hollywood love two semi-royals in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? I think they will. I think Hollywood – and most of America – feels protective of Meghan in particular. Or in Margot Robbie’s case, she feels protective of both of them:
Margot Robbie wants to extend a warm welcome to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they make their transition to North America. On Saturday, the Oscar-nominated actress opened up about her friendship with Harry, and revealed that the couple “have their reasons” for stepping down from their senior roles in the royal family.
“I have known Prince Harry for a while and he is a really great guy,” she told The Sun. “I know as much as anybody what a big decision it is to move halfway across the world. I still miss London a lot but I had my reasons for moving and they have their reasons for the decision.” Robbie added, “It isn’t something taken lightly.“
The actress also said she wants to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for dinner in Los Angeles with her husband Tom Ackerley.
“If they are going to spend more time in L.A., we would love to have dinner with them,“ Robbie said.
The Bombshell star first became friends with Harry back in December 2015 when they met at a housewarming party at model Suki Waterhouse’s home. Robbie previously revealed that pal Cara Delevingne was the one who introduced them.
We still don’t know Meghan and Harry’s plans, even in the immediate future. We’ve heard something about how they want to spend the summer in LA with Doria Ragland. If that happens… well, it will be exciting. It will be hilarious to see if Harry and Meghan are welcomed like celebrity-royal hybrids into the Hollywood ecosystem, and Margot has them over for dinner and Oprah invites them to Montecito and they spend weekends in Malibu with Jennifer Aniston and Meg gets pap’d shopping on Melrose. If even part of that happens, the British tabs will have an absolute bloody meltdown.

I hope they are welcomed with open arms by HW as it will not only trigger the UK tabloids but also another Ducal couple – one of whom has complained previously about how hard they found it to get celebrities to work with them on his causes.
I now understand why the celebrities and those like the Royals value the friends who keep their mouths closed. While I adore Margot, the less she says about the the better. Let them (the press) find out on their own. It’s difficult enough for the M&H, let alone when fuel to the fire is added. Plus, surprises are always great and M&H know how to drop some very nice ones 🙂
Yeah exactly you don’t know what’s better – telling the Sun how you met Harry, support him and want to meet up with H&M or stay quiet. I love Margot but she is using his status a bit.
Yes, the Sussexes (and Meghan in particular) are always surprising us. That’s why all the feverish speculation about what they will do next, is a useless waste of time. 🙂
Margot is not actually friends with Harry. She met him a few times, and said that he would call/text her and she would ignore him. This was obviously before he met Meghan, but I always rolled my eyes when Margot would talk about Harry, and I still do so. She’s just using him for a few talk points like most do.
@Allz. Actually she texted him to say either her friend or herself (not sure) had a dream about him and he texted back. She said she would text him (as friends, she is married) and he was quick to text back. That’s all. And I think he WAS with Meghan at the time. There are articles about it because she talks about it often. They met at a party that Euegenie was having.
@Marie There was an interview where she specifically says she takes days to reply when he texts her and she went up to him when first met him because she thought she was Ed Sheeran. So yeah, I roll my eyes a bit. But you might be right about the timeline, I just looked up the interview again and it was spring of 2016, I can’t really remember when him and Meghan really started to see each other. I’m not saying I think they were flirty or more than friends but Margot clearly is trying to sound closer to Harry than she is.
@Allz Yes, you are right. I forgot about her saying he is Ed Sheehan. A lot of people and charities say Harry is very quick with texts and emails. And I agree about her talking about Harry, she needs to quit. It must mean more to her than Harry, she wasn’t invited to the wedding haha.
In the copy of the story above, Robbie doesn’t actually say anything about Meghan. It’s all about Harry. Did she actually even mention Meghan in the rest of the story? The only reference to Meghan is in having them to dinner. Just weird to me. Perhaps she has never met Meghan.
The BM wants the Sussexes to crash and burn and erased from history because they refused to do quid pro quo/drug deals with the Cartel like other members of the BRF . (I prefer to call the BM the Coven because its practices go right up to the line of evil.) It’s a shame a reality show star had to die before the outrage grew but the Fail is running stories of the tick tock running up to her death.
ITA @aquarius64. Added to that desire by the BM though is certain members’ jealousy and insecurity over the Sussexes’ popularity.

I feel like the moving to LA is far more boring that people’s imaginations. They can only spend 6 months of the year in Canada so they have to go somewhere. And Harry already has a job based in LA. I would bet part of this move is so he can be hands on with producing the documentary series with Oprah.
I wonder if the Sussexes applied for visas to stay longer in Canada
The GLOBAL coverage of the Sussexs even whilst away/unseen (especially when Meghan was on maternity leave) is an indication of how the media will continue to follow & report them even when cambridge kids grow up it’ll shift to Archie and his sibling(s) and I’ll bet that he’ll overtake them😏
Margot is so sweet. Shes been a friend of prince Harry and Eugenie for years now. She famously mistook him for Ed Sheeran😂. I’d rather read her story than the usual hate articles
