Carrie Underwood’s son thinks she’s 70 and that her job is to do the laundry

One popular school project is to ask young children questions about their parents. It’s a fascinating window into what children think about and how they perceive their families. The answers are often sweet, and sometimes funny. Carrie Underwood shared on Instagram the answers that her older son, Isaiah, who is four, gave his teacher about her. (Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are also parents to Jacob, who just turned one in January.) Apparently, Carrie, who is 70, has a job that involves “wash[ing] the laundry.” She must sing and act when she’s able to squeeze it in:

Isaiah also reports that his mom is good at folding laundry, that she says, “I love you,” to him a lot, and that they enjoy watching TV together. Carrie also likes eating salad, and if she had free time, she would ride horses.

I love that Isaiah is consistent when talking about Carrie doing the laundry. It’s her job, so it makes sense that she’d be good at folding it. I suck at that, so if she’s looking for extra work, she’s welcome to come fold mine!

Carrie and her family and some friends were in Vail this past week on vacation, and Carrie posted a bunch of pictures:

A couple of days earlier, she posted a cute photo of Mike and Isaiah:

I’d forgotten that Carrie has a book coming out! In September, I wrote about her fitness and healthy lifestyle book, Find Your Path. It will be released March 3, and then Carrie will perform at several festivals and fairs between April and September.

Oh the questioners! Teachers way of getting the juice! Lol. One year my favorite drink was WINE. And I reminded him of squidward.

    • Heather says:

My friend was on a diet where she drank ALOE juice every morning.
For the question: What does your mom do every morning? her daughter said “My mom drinks her ALCOHOL juice every morning before she drives us to school”!!!

I’m friends with teachers, they do get a kick out of this. They need a laugh with their jobs! As long as social services aren’t called.. ha

I imagine the teacher got a real kick out of Isaiah’s answers, knowing his mom is Carrie Underwood and she does a lot more than “wash the laundry.”

My son is 19 and thinks the same about me.

I know right? My 16 yr old was gushing about the 80ies recently, like how cool that time was and what great music and I said: Yes, I know, I was around.
So now I am certifiably OLD.

    Hilarious and also sweet.

Who’s handwriting is that? It’s great!

  5. Cee says:

I love that he registers that what she tells him the most is “I love you”. That right there is very important and cute.

    • Jessica says:

I thought that was great too! It’s the top line and bottom line message, so nice to see it resonate!

  6. Mike says:

Is that his real handwriting? No way a 4 year old can write that well. If he can them I am going to be very ashamed of myself for my chicken scratch

  7. Bella Mama says:

Oh that can absolutely be a 4 year old’s handwriting. My now high school aged child has hand writing like that and always did. It looks like her writing is typed.

Her twin writes…. Not like that LOL, by the other one? Pffft.. . Perfect. She wants to be an engineer so it fits with her personality, that exacting precision

Am I allowed to say….with trepidation…that I thought the lead photograph was the Duchess of Sussex gone blonde

Oh my gosh, I’m howling. Kids are so funny. This was a nice read. For a while now, I’ve felt a weird pang of sympathy for Carrie, she just doesn’t seem happy. I know that’s so presumptuous of me to say, maybe it’s because of how much she talked about her fall/cosmetic procedures/etc.

Dare I say that I kind of love the dress she’s wearing at the American Music Awards? Her fashion sense is usually awful budget Sherri Hill gowns and this is so different from what she usually wears. That’s a beautiful shade of purple that looks great with her coloring. Maybe just a different shoe and tighter cinching at the waist… Great gams though, you can tell girlfriend doesn’t skip leg day!

Saw her picture from American Idol. I know it was years ago but she looked so different. She had a natural look back then. I think that was so much better than the over madeup look she has now. My opinion.
