Seriously. Do not cut your own hair. It’s a three month (?) break from heat styling and chemicals for a lot of us. Let your hair rest.
It depends. If your hair is long-ish and you are just going to keep your current style and just give it a trim, go for it. I’ve been doing it for years and I love the way it looks. Just do what you’ve watched your stylist do for years. It just takes practice. But doing something drastic, or reshaping a pixie or bob is probably no bueno.

I know a few folks who watch purely because it makes them feel better about themselves to see such stupidity and dysfunction, and a fair few others who watch because “the daytime soaps have just gone so downhill these days” and “KUWK really knows how to script a good storyline”.
I had my husband take an inch off my shoulder length bob. Not a dramatic change, just making up for a missed salon appointment. Was it the best cut ever? Not hardly. Was it totally good enough? Yes.

My husband showed me and the kids this Jack Black video yesterday and it was the best dinner we have had since self isolating.
Forget my hair. A more pressing issue for me is my dog’s hair! She was already going to be shaggy enough at Easter, and now she has to go a few more weeks. I just looked at clippers online but decided I am not brave enough to trim a poodle! We will just have to make due. She may be getting a Pebbles ponytail in the near future lol.
@M – you can do it. I was nervous the first time I gave my poodle a haircut but it wasnât bad. It certainly wasnât his best cut, but it wasnât bad.
Some tips from my experience and more importantly from an actual dog groomer I consulted: Just start with the longer guardâ you can always go shorter. Donât use scissors on their face/head (the pros do, but if youâre not a pro itâs not a good idea). Remember to talk to them and reassure them throughout. Itâs okay to take breaks or only do part of the cut at once (Iâm reminding myself of this one. Itâs been awhile since I last did an at home cut and my guy is now a senior so weâre only doing a little at a time and taking full day breaks. I want him to be comfortable)
