Tori Spelling tried to charge fans $95 a piece to talk to her on Zoom

So many celebrities are working to entertain and connect with us at this scary time. I’m enjoying the Instagram live interviews, the at-home concerts, the dance parties and DIY interviews. Some of my favorite websites and experts are even holding free Zoom meetups where you can talk to them and other fans. I’m doing that too! We meet on Zoom every Wednesday at 4pm EST so email me at info-at-celebitchy.com if you’d like an invite. We had the first one yesterday and it was so much fun! It’s more about you guys talking to each other than me specifically. I’ve never met so many women at once who know as much about celebrity gossip as I do! Of course I would never charge for this because most of you are more interesting than I am. One celebrity who does not think that way is Tori Spelling. She tried charging people $95 a PIECE for a Zoom chat with her capped at 20 people. Why not make it an even $100? What an a-hole:

“Can’t wait to do my first ever virtual meet and greet Thursday, April 9 at 5pm PDT,” Spelling, 46, wrote via Instagram on Monday, April 6, promoting her upcoming live video chat. “Only 20 spots available so reserve your spot now. Link in my bio xoxo.”

When fans went to click on the link, however, many were upset to learn that the chat with the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star costs $95.

“Of course it’s $95 because during a Pandemic we all have that to spare what a bummer 🙄….” one follower commented on Spelling’s Instagram post.

Another called out the actress for her selfish ways amid the current coronavirus crisis, writing, “Damn people are dying, and you still thinking how to gain money from us… what you were and what you became.”

While one fan pointed out that other celebs were taking time to raise funds for charity, another wrote that she would’ve participated if it wasn’t so expensive. “Its a bad time for me, since myself and my husband both lost our jobs. but maybe next time,” the fan wrote. “Im a HUGE 90210 fan. Love u tori aka donna martin.”

Tori seems to have either canceled the meetup or taken it private because the post is now deleted. Her husband, Dean McDermott, did an Instagram video defending Tori. You can see it on the video below. He’s wearing a hat with the words “Violent Gentleman Hockey Club” and a shirt that says “Papa Bear” in all caps camo print. In case you don’t want to subject yourself to it, he says:

I find myself having to come to my wife’s defense yet again. I’m really disappointed because she’s catching flack and getting dragged yet again for doing a live meet and greet. People are upset that given the current situation we’re in… that she’s [airquotes] charging people money to do a meet and greet.

-E: Dean claims his wife was approached by a company to do the meet and greet –

What is wrong with providing for your family at this time? All the studios, everything is shut down. She has no way to work. So why can she not work from home and do a live meet and greet with fans and give them some light and love and have some fun? There are numerous celebrities and influencers that post stuff and are out there making money.

That’s a BS that Tori was “approached by a company” to do the meetup. You know it was her idea. This is the woman who moved to a $13,000 a month house afer being sued for nonpayment of debts by multiple creditors. She’s had her assets seized by the IRS. Her mom has tens of millions of dollars, her kids aren’t going to go hungry and she’s not going to go homeless. This is not the time to charge people to talk to you. The fact that she tried to do it and that her dirtbag husband defended her tells you everything you need to know about these people.

Lolol. All those people were independent contractors and freelancers to begin with! Their entire livelihood has dried up. A YouTuber I love is a workout instructor. Her gym is closed. And so she does paid online classes via a fitness app. That’s how she is paying her bills. She is offering a SERVICE. WTF is Tori offering exactly??

PS I would love to join the chat! Will email you guys!

  2. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Omg thank you Celebitchy! I’ve been wondering what to do with our savings while we’re in isolation. This is a dream come true for me.

  3. Miumiiiu says:

Tori has no shame sometimes eh.
Also, zoom is connected to the chinese alibaba. I’d avoid it unless you want the Chinese Govt to own your or your kids facial recognition data

  4. Jerusha says:

Message to Dean: Walmart is hiring. Get off your lazy ass and YOU provide for the family for once.

  5. J ferber says:

    Bitch.

  6. ChillyWilly says:

Lol…who would ever pay that much to talk to her even in normal times? The nerve of these people.

    • heylee says:

I agree that the price tag to talk to her is way too high. I am trying to figure out how she even came up with that number? I honestly don’t know who that person would be where I would pay $95 to sit on a Zoom and be drowned out by other people, or to just hear the celeb drone on about no specific topic?!

  7. Jules says:

these two will do anything for attention. even during a pandemic!

  8. Tiffany says:

Mary Jo and Charlie dodged a ton of bullets when these two idiots decided to get together, didn’t they ?

  9. Tate says:

    These two are so gross.

  10. paranormalgirl says:

None of my favorite musicians are charging for online concerts.

    • lucy2 says:

Same! My favorite did a TWO HOUR living room concert last week. Every other one I’ve seen is encouraging donations.

  11. Other Renee says:

The amount of therapy these kids will need after being raised by these two grifters is staggering. None of them will have any material for a tell-all book because their parents already tell everyone everything about them.

  12. Kerbear says:

Tori is the definition of a self-saboteur. With her books, her reality shows and her inheritance, she could be living a really great life. But her bottomless hole of consumption has left her constantly grifting. It’s got to be exhausting to live that way and stressful for the kids.

    • Veronica S. says:

And a hefty portion of her bills are paid by her mother, too. I can’t think about it too much or it actively infuriates me thinking of how many people I know are struggling right now who’ll never get close to touching half of what these two blew on consumption.

More and more, I think Aaron Spelling knew what he was doing when he put the money in Candy’s control. She may be indulgent, but she clearly knows how to work with what she has.

  13. Charfromdarock says:

    Lol.

I don’t know what’s funnier, that Tori thinks it’s worth $95 to talk to her or that Dean that Dean claims she lost her job because studies are closed.

Has she ever worked aside from her Daddy’s show?

  14. Lululu says:

Her husband is like one of her pets or something. Gross.

  15. Izzy says:

I would pay $95 to never hear about these two idiots ever again.

  16. lucy2 says:

“I find myself having to come to my wife’s defense yet again. ” Maybe that’s because your wife is a disgusting scam artist.

This really makes me mad. She could have done this and raised money for food banks, or hospitals, or the homeless. All her living needs are paid for by her mother. Their debts are their own doing.

    • Esmom says:

The fact that it didn’t even seem to occur to them to try to use their platform for fundraising is really pathetic.

  17. girl_ninja says:

How does this person even have fans? Yeah sure she was on 90210 and nostalgia can go a long way with us humans. But come on now she played Donna Martin and we know so much about her messy real life. She’s just so awful. I don’t get it.

  18. Emmitt says:

Maybe McQuisha can loan her some money. Tori’s obviously scratching and surviving.

  19. No Doubt says:

Why would anyone want to meet and greet with her for FREE much more for a hundred bucks? She’s a D list celeb and a bad actress to boot.

  20. Texas says:

    Trash people. Plain and simple.

  21. naomipaige99 says:

Who the f**k would pay $95 to speak with her? Who would pay anything to speak with her? She really has no shame in her game!!!!

  22. Rose says:

I’m so tired of them trying to use their kids to justify their disgusting behavior. She wasn’t trying to make money to support her family. Candy is already doing that. She’s trying to make money so she can buy more tacky, useless stuff that’s going to end up in one of her storage units.

  23. KBeth says:

    Grifters, both of them.

  24. Holly hobby says:

Dealer looks like a stalker in the Instagram pic. I like how the little one’s face literally screams “help me” in the family photo. Tori tacky as ever

  25. Lolo says:

I guess I’m in the minority here, but I like Tori Spelling. I think I would be out of my mind if my parents had hundreds of millions of dollars and my mom wasn’t sharing. After all, they DID raise her to be a ‘princess’. As for the $95 fee for a meeting and greeting would have only been paid by the people who were willing. I think the McDermott’s income must be below the mud or why else would she meet 20 people for just $1900!! Anyway, I don’t wish an ill will against her or her family.
