Prince Andrew ‘refused three interview requests’ from lawyer for Epstein’s victims

Prince Andrew interview

It was my hope that during the pandemic, several industries would use the global “timeout” to reassess and change some things which are clearly not working. Turns out, not so much when it comes to royalty and how the royals are covered. Even in a pandemic, the British tabloid press has continued to be downright unhinged about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It would be horrifying on its own, but the same tabloid press falls all over itself to excuse Prince Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the same pedophile who trafficked teenage girls to Andrew as “gifts.” Some of Epstein’s victims have hired David Boies to represent them in their ongoing pursuit of justice from the Epstein estate, Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew. Boies spoke out this weekend about Andrew’s continuing lack of cooperation:

Prince Andrew has refused three requests to be interviewed in Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation, a lawyer for the dead paedo’s alleged victims has claimed. David Boies is representing a number of the disgraced financier’s alleged victims, including Virginia Roberts. Ms Roberts, 36, alleges Epstein used her as a sex slave and forced her to sleep with the Duke of York three times in 2001 when she was 17. Prince Andrew, 60, has always strongly denied the allegations against him.

Mr Boies said he has tried to contact Prince Andrew over the past few months. He told The Mirror: “We’ve made at least three formal written attempts to his address in London and also to his lawyers in the past few months.”

Mr Boies has also urged the royal to ask himself: “If I avoid extradition, do I really want this hanging over my head and my family’s head for the rest of my life? Do I want my epitaph to be ‘I succeeded in escaping justice’?” Mr Boies added: “Often, people in his position are surrounded by advisers who think they will be more valued if they come across as very aggressive on their principal’s behalf and that can lead to somebody not getting very good advice.”

However, pals of the Prince have accused the attorney of acting out of “self-promotion”. One told The Mirror that “no competent legal team” would advise on cooperating with “for-profit civil lawyers”. They added: “That begs the question as to why these firms continue to pursue the Duke and not Epstein’s estate. The answer is surely self-promotion.”

Geoffrey Berman – the US attorney who indicted paedo Epstein last year – has previously said both his office and the FBI had reached out to the under-fire British royal via his lawyers. In January, he said: “The Southern District of New York and the FBI have contacted Prince Andrew’s attorneys and requested to interview Prince Andrew, and to date, Prince Andrew has provided zero cooperation. He publicly offered, indeed in a press release, to cooperate with law enforcement investigating the crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators.”

Ah, yes, all of those get-rich/get-famous schemes which involve law school, taking the bar, spending decades in civil and criminal law, all to take on human-trafficking victims pro bono and attempt to get justice for them from the various powerful men who abused them when they were children. It’s worth repeating endlessly: Andrew said he would cooperate with authorities. He lied. He has not cooperated with the US Attorney or any of the civil lawyers for the victims. HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, is a liar, a coward and a guilty pervert.

  1. Dinah says:

As long a QEII lives, Andrew will be protected and will not cooperate with law enforcement in this case. Betty have taken care of that already. He has no worry about that.

    • Tessa says:

And HM throws Harry and Meghan to the wolves.

    • Adrianna says:

Why bother hounding him for an interview…..Do they think he’s going to tell the truth? Of course not. They’re wasting their time.

      • Bucky says:

They will not ask questions that they don’t know the answer to. Meaning, if he lies, it is as useful to the case as if he told the truth. The only difference is his liability if he perjured himself. That suggests that someone has something on him that is scarier to him than any legal ramifications. Otherwise, he would, of course, cooperate by showing up, lie, go on with his life. The case at hand might be the tip of the iceberg.

  2. Jules says:

That photo though! He truly looks vampiric.

    • Ashley says:

      That photos is horrendous.

While I am all for Andrew getting his, what about the others in his black book? Nothing will come from this Epstein thing. It had its chance, now something else bumped it and I doubt many will come back to it because something new will take its place. People thought the Untouchables would get theirs when the Panama Papers came out remember? Now more powerful men have been found to do other shady things and eh on to something else. There is no justice in this world.

  3. Becks1 says:

Of course he’s not cooperating or responding to inquiries. He’s completely guilty and he’s hoping if he ignores it, it will go away.

    • Ashley says:

I don’t know what’s worse the fact that he thinks that he can ignore it or the fact that he actually can. Let’s say he lives as long as his parents, he can evade justice for 40 years? The Brits really need to get over their Royalty obsession because this man needs to be held accountable.

  4. Rapunzel says:

Wait, the lawyer is taking this on pro bono? PedoAndy’s statement says for profit. I’m guessing it’s pro bono work from a for profit firm and RandyAndy’s people are being deliberately obtuse.

    • Truthiness says:

I don’t see anyone on the women’s side that could afford David Boies. David Boies has some losses but he is a heavy hitter among heavy hitters. The government used him to WIN their monopoly case against Microsoft and …you know how deep the pockets are with Microsoft. He represented Al Gore v Bush, where the SCOTUS …*twitch* …I guess I still have PTSD from that one.

    • EditorM says:

Most for-profit firms have a pro bono wing – standard op pro. If Boies is on it, there’s blood in the water.

  5. kellebelle says:

No kidding, Who knew he’d turn out to be a lying scumbag. Yet they harped on Meghan’s nail polish and her “vulgar” dress. Oh my.

  6. DarlingDiana says:

Andrew is a pedophile and involved human trafficking, at the very least, as a customer. Answering any questions will cause him to self incriminate. He certainly isn’t going to volunteer to be questioned by an attorney in a civil suit by victims, some of whom are likely his victims.
Law enforcement and governments would have to compel his cooperation with the threat of imprisonment. I think that with Epstein’s “suicide” that is very unlikely because, as far as I know, there is no government entity pursuing Epstein’s cohorts like Andrew, Ghislaine, Dershowitz, Clinton, and no doubt many other powerful people. It is truly a stain on law enforcement both in America and England.

  7. Ali says:

HRH Prince Andrew will never speak to lawyers.

  8. Sean says:

Prince Andrew would have been delighted to sit down for an interview and truthfully answer every single question asked of him. Unfortunately, he was unavailable at the time of the request. He was at a Pizza Express in Woking, you see. Also, his sweat glands were acting up again. And he was wearing his travel clothes.

  9. Lisa says:

Interesting the timing of the Tom Quinn article about Meghan yelling at Kate’s staff. I wonder why that got released the same day as this news??

  10. Tilewa says:

He’s disgusting. Can’t believe the UK tabloids have written so little about this and so much about Harry/Meghan…I hope the truth comes out re Andrew.

  11. NextToMe says:

I thought it was funny that the day this story broke, page six had 2 or 3 not particularly flattering stories about H&M and 2 or 3 sparklers on Kate. Then the Andrew story broke, and ALL royal news was pulled from page six’s homepage. Also, NY Post hasn’t touched the Andrew story at all. I wonder if any royals $upport that rag (that I read at least weekly).

  12. June says:

Makes me sick that Andrew will never be held accountable for rape. Also the many other men who have raped trafficked young girls who also get away with rape. Justice. What a glorious thing it is and how sad that it is often never used. I am thinking of the Criminal in the WH and his equally guilty GOP. Will we see them held accountable? Will any of them be indicted. I pray they will. I know there are Federal Prosecutors planning to indict them. I only hope it happens. Some think Trump will flee the US before Jan 20. I apologize for being way off topic here. It is just something I think about a lot. Justice.
