Donald Trump on human trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell: ‘I just wish her well, frankly’

President Donald Trump Speaks in the Brady Press Briefing Room

Donald Trump, William Barr, Jeffrey Epstein, Alexander Acosta, Ghislaine Maxwell, Prince Andrew, fired US Attorneys, the murdered son of a federal judge, a “suicidal” assassin, Deutsche Bank, Vladimir Putin. Try piecing together all of those threads. Try putting that story into a coherent narrative. It’s impossible. And it’s our reality. Ghislaine Maxwell used to live in Palm Beach with or around Jeffrey Epstein back in the 1990s and early 2000s. She was Epstein’s recruiter, his procurer, his grooming co-conspirator and human trafficking and blackmail partner. Ghislaine was the one finding 14 year olds and 15 year olds to suit Epstein’s needs. There were persistent rumors about Ghislaine “recruiting” young girls at Mar-a-Lago. There are also persistent rumors of Donald Trump’s closeness to Epstein and Maxwell, and rumors of Trump perhaps participating in some of Epstein’s crimes.

So with Ghislaine Maxwell in federal custody and a full year before her trial date, Donald Trump was asked about Maxwell’s situation during yesterday’s press briefing. This is what Trump said:

“I just wish her well, frankly” when asked about the possibility that Ghislaine could name names. Is that a threat? Is it supposed to be sinister? I’m also shocked that Trump even admitted to knowing Ghislaine – even if there’s photo evidence of something, Trump usually denies it. The fact that he can’t even deny knowing Ghislaine says a lot (to me). But yeah, he’s totally going to have her killed. I wonder if the person who kills Maxwell will end up killing themselves like the man who shot Judge Salas’ family.

Also: Yes, Trump showed more “sympathy” for a human trafficker and child abuser then he ever has for the victims of violent white supremacy.

    A threat, a gaffe, or a message? I just don’t know.

An accurate indication of what Trump really thinks and believes. This is the guy who bragged about grabbing women by the genitals, never forget.

    • Ann says:

I’m guessing that’s code for “I’ll say nice things about you, but please don’t spill the tea”.

      • Janice Gerow says:

Uh huh, that’s exactly what I’m thinking. He doesn’t want to say anything bad about her lest she spill the beans…

  2. alwaysannarun says:

I was beyond appalled when I watched him say that. He is at the point of no return and yet his followers still lick his boots.

    • Hermes says:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

    • Betsy says:

I think of the magats I know and how their world views were warped by their upbringings. I never watched that show about the breeding evangelicals, but thanks to this site, I know what blanket training is, and that is precisely what was done to their brains. It doesn’t work the same on all brains, obviously, but for some of these people, their minds are still seeing everything in the same way their parents told them to look at it, and they’ve never gotten off the blanket to investigate for themselves.

I do not say this as a defense or an excuse. I just find it helpful to remember that some of these cult members have willfully continued to shut their eyes so there’s almost no use in telling them what they aren’t seeing.

      • Esmom says:

Agreed, Betsy. The more frustrating ones are the people who DO know better, who have had the chance to have their worldview expanded and to reassess their morality but instead decided to cling to whatever Trumpism is offering at this moment. They are the scarier people to me, because they rationalize their support for Trump because they think he’ll keep their stock portfolio intact and keep the black and brown people out of their neighborhoods. They DO see what’s happening but make themselves feel better by demonizing Nancy Pelosi orAOC or whoever else they can scapegoat for the chaos they are complicit in unleashing.

  3. janey jane says:

A good chunk of white people do.not.care. He could be totally implicated and Trump will shake with a drug or a whataboutism. Weaponized white supremacy is a hell of a drug. People will burn down society to protect white privilege at all costs.

I am sort of numb about everything right now. I just heard a neighbor (loudly from her driveway while I was taking my trash out), to not be so dramatic about wearing a mask (I was wearing one). She went on to say it’s poor people and minorities (well she said SP-words and N-words) and fat white trash that are dying of COVID. It doesn’t hurt “people like us.” And she hopped in her car and zipped off to socially distance yoga.

I just don’t know what to do. I’m sorry. I see. And I am hopeless beyond voting (which will probably not make a difference). Sorry.

Watch the Portland BLM Protests, Wall of Moms and PDX Dad Pod along with thousands of others. Cheered me right up.

      • Also Ali says:

The wall of moms videos on twitter made me sob last night. There is so much awful and then a bright light shines saying don’t give up hope just yet.

Of course he wishes GM well. Of course he does.

      • Lightpurple says:

The Dads with the leaf blowers to fend off tear gas!

      • JanetDR says:

@LightPurple I haven’t seen the dads with leaf blowers yet but off to search for photos! Yay for Moms and Dads!

      • Jensies says:

I was there last night at that protest and the whole vibe of the protest changed when they showed up. Amazing energy, I teared up.

    • lobstah says:

Yeah, I’m starting to get that hopeless feeling, too. Like even if all the polls are screaming Biden, Trump’s still going to somehow win another term. He’s a reflection of a large portion of our society and that’s what makes me feel like we’re never going to recover from this. I’ll still vote and will still hold out a little bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, he’ll get a bit of karma. But I doubt he’ll ever have to pay for any of his crimes.

      • Esmom says:

I’m with you, lobstah. Even if we manage to vote him out we will still have all these sh^tty people who walk among us, who will be immediately looking for the next Trump.

    • VS says:

Voting does make a difference………….it will not stop people like your neighbor from being racist and ignorant but we won’t need to validate their despicable feelings!
A good chunk of people do not care what he says or does but we only need to flip a few swing states, retake the Senate and preserve the house……..then we will have some sanity back!
Some GOP senators or congressmen/congresswomen are perfectly rational people but those have been drowned under the voice of the insane ones….. I am not talking about Mitt Romney or Susan Collins (she is the worst type; I will take a visible snake over a hidden one)

    • Betsy says:

Do not despair. Get more involved.

And if Donald Trump was actually proven to be involved? And the corporate media talked about it? Many, many trumpers would care.

      • janey jane says:

        Strong, strong disagree.

I really think weaponized white supremacy has been massively underestimated. We don’t call white supremacists terrorists. Know why?

      • Trashaddict says:

I won’t despair but his followers have had plenty of evidence of his true character before and they completely ignored it. The ones who weren’t racist were motivated by “but he’ll be good for the economy”, i.e. flat-out I-got-mine-Jack greed.

      • Betsy says:

@Janey Jane – I think it’s important that we have begun to call white supremacist violence terrorism, which it is and always has been, but we sure didn’t call it that in white culture (Black people have always known).

We are taking a serious and severe step back, but the number of white people who have begun to understand what the reality is is huge. Twitter has been instrumental in hearing black peoples’ stories, too. For example: in terms of the differing ways that black peoples are treated vs how white people are treated by the police, apart from the violence. I’ve always been scared as a white lady who doesn’t want to pay extra fees and insurance, but I’ve never had to fear for my life. I’ve never been pulled over for being white.

So it’s not better, but there is progress. And white people are beginning to realize with Portland that the white supremacist machine is now being weaponized further against anyone not toeing the GOP line.

  4. Jerusha says:

I don’t wish either of them well. Quite the opposite.

  5. Lightpurple says:

Translation: “keep quiet, Ghislaine, and a pardon awaits!”

Except she doesn’t want a pardon, she wants acquittal. A pardon means guilt and opens her to civil lawsuits from her victims

    • Esmom says:

I’m in the middle of watching the Netflix documentary so I’m kind of late to catching up on all this. Do you think she’d ever flip? Doesn’t seem likely to me but as I said I’m not well versed in this nightmare.

    • Darla says:

I’m so confused, I thought these were state charges, not federal. The idea of his pardoning her, my god. He would only do it after the election. Was that his message to her yesterday?

    • Digital Unicorn says:

What she wants is for him to make this go away like he’s done for himself.

I wonder if we will ever find out who the mysterious husband is – if its that tech billionaire she likely blackmailed him into leaving his wife and young children for her (IIRC there was a story about him, saying that his divorce was sudden and very quick – there were quotes from sources who said the wife and his family never saw it coming as they all thought the marriage was happy). He’s her financial security and he will have the money and resources to pay her legal fees and to get her out of the country if she is ever released. I think she expected to get bail!

    • adastraperaspera says:

Yes. He is letting her know that help is on the way.

  6. Andrew’s Nemesis says:

This – •THIS• is the point at which words cease. What can we possibly say in response. What can we say.

    • Betsy says:

We can start to say that the entire GOP is evil. That’s a good start.

      • Andrew’s Nemesis says:

@Betsy But that’s just more words. We’ve said them so often that they have become devoid of all meaning. Every day we cry and weep and rage and protest the dying of the light and every day that shitbiscuit Nazi does and says something worse. The dividing lines between good and evil are becoming more and more blurred. •That• is what scares me, because you know what this feels like? Victor Klemperer’s diaries.
We’re heading into the banal grey zone at frightening speed.

  7. Jess says:

It’s either a threat or an attempt to kiss her ass so she keeps his name out of her mouth. She better come out with it with receipts, and soon. Ghislaine you in danger girl.

  8. aquarius64 says:

Gigi’s trial is not until July 2021. Trump can’t pardon her unless she’s convicted and if he’s re-elected. However, Trump can talk to Barr now to get Gigi a deal if she gives up somebody not him…like Andrew. The BRF has to be reeling now, right after Beatrice’s wedding.

  9. KellyRyan says:

He was bored reading the prepared script on masks yesterday and could not wait for a question so he could control the dialogue. I continue to believe we remain on the winning side. Poll numbers, SDNY, Congress passing legislation in hopes for a Senate win and we finally move forward. As to Ghislane, the FBI doesn’t need her except as an example. They were well prepared at the point of arrest. Any Twitter followers on Cele? Follow Preet Bharara and Renato Mariotti, former SDNY prosecutors.

He is signalling to interfere with the investigation.

  13. Nic919 says:

Michael Cohen said in his testimony that dump speaks in code for things to get done, which is what the mob does. So when he said what he did about Ghislaine and didn’t pretend to not know her, he’s obviously sending some kind of message to her. If she agrees to meet with Barr, which she refused earlier, then we will know that she’s listened to what he said.

  14. KellyRyan says:

Keep in mind the Drumpf Mafia code of communication is known by the FBI, SDNY. The Sopranos is a good example of the parry between LE and the Mob. At one time it was reported DT had an unsecured phone, refusing to have one which was secured. He’s not only being watched, he’s listened to.

  15. Dragonlady sakura says:

Let’s be honest, we’re all on “suicide” watch with Ghislaine. I don’t believe she will ever have a chance to name names.

  16. Sharonk says:

Don’t forget that trump was accused of raping. A 13 year old!!
    What happened with that?

    • Juls says:

IIRC, she dropped her case and went into hiding because she was receiving death threats.

  17. nicegirl says:

Ok. Portland city limit resident since Jan 2005 here. I’m immuno compromised and am nursing a heavy injury and have recently had a surgery and am awaiting another in about 10 days.Due to my body and risk of COVID19, I have not attended any of the protests.

However, two nights ago a good friend, one of my son’s teachers was peacefully protesting with the moms and was blasted directly in the face with tear gas, and she’s still suffering. Greatly. Ophthalmologist says there may be permanent damage to her eye/vision. I’m aghast at these arbitrary rules by federally deployed troops on our city streets and highly concerned about our Constitutional rights being violated. I’m testifying today (telephonically) in support of Oregon HB 4208, regarding police reform, specifically the use of tear gas. My testimony outlays my two main concerns, 1. Use is outlawed as a human rights violation, thus we (America) is in violation of our agreement signed at the Geneva Convention on February 8, 1928; deploying tear gas on city streets as exhibited in Portland, Oregon is an act against the Protocols of Geneva. We are at risk of jeopardizing our country’s membership in the United Nations.

My second concern is actually wildlife. These actions are abuses of our civil rights. I believe exposure to tear gas is an exploitation of the rights of innocent animals. I thought of the people who live in apartments above these areas where gas is deployed, they’re closing their houses down in an effort to avoid the gas. My thoughts went to the many birds I’ve seen in the area. So I went researching and found tons- including evidence that many animals were adversely affected by tear gas when exposed in August 2019 in Hong Kong. An 18 month old cat was found with its eyes scratched out bc it was attempting to relieve the pain brought on by exposure to tear gas. Animals exposed should be washed in clean water and a .09% alcohol solution. How are the birds gonna do that, huh?? We have a duty to protect. We’re supposed to be stewards of our environment.

So, needless to say, your girl here has had a fuck ‘nough. I went to the main protest last night, (but only stayed moments as I’m in and out of hospital care and I am wary to expose anyone to anything I may be carrying)- BUT – I brought our leaf blower. A bunch of folks I’m town yesterday got the idea- and several people who could not attend in person shared their blowers, it was an act of unity and support and gratitude for those who stand for all of us rn in these PDX protests. I was waiting for the call from the friend who has our blower and they just now texted and asked to use it another night. Yep, it’s all yours, friend. They said it helped them to protect themselves and they used it to help clear a park of gas where our homeless neighbors gather regularly.

Bitches, I’m so sad and scared, terrified for my neighbors whose rights are being usurped- it’s terrible, what is happening in Portland, Oregon. I’m confident that any person can be attacked by these troops on our streets, whether or not they have broken laws. I’m voting in November, blue no matter who. Our rights as Americans are under attack, we have got to rise up and listen to John Lewis and wake up. Sorry for the novel.

    • Andrew’s Nemesis says:

@NiceGirl You’re an amazing person, the kind of woman I emulate and strive to be like. You’re doing good in so many ways (and as a fellow friend of the environment your concern re: teargas and animal suffering is not only noted, but I’ll be writing to my MP to make my (shitty) government aware of the risks). I pray for your health and applaud your valiance and determination.

      • nicegirl says:

Omg Andrews Nemesis, thank you so much for this response. It’s all an act. I’m actually a real asshole. Xoxox!!

    • Eugh says:

Wishing you the best!!! Using tear gas during a respiratory pandemic to me is terrorism

  18. nicegirl says:

I do not wish Ghislaine well. I wish her to have to get past St Peter at the gates and he’s laughing so hard he cannot speak.

  19. Case says:

“And I guess they lived in Palm Beach as well.” LOL, as if he doesn’t know. Absolutely wild.

  20. AmyB says:

Ladies and Gentlemen this is what true blind Trump supporters look & sound like:

I had a good friend of mine that I previously worked with, post this pro-Trump bs on her FB timeline, and she said something like, sure he has “misspoke a few times” (LMAO!!) but he’s done so much other good things for our country! Trump 2020. So I simply responded in earnest and pointed out the endless horrible, rancid things he has done, and said that they are disgusting to me. Mind you, I am not some far left liberal, but more independent in my political views. But make no mistake I despise Donald Trump, and always have, well before his aspirations for political office, ya know when he was a member of the Democratic party LOL!!!

Anyway, one of her friends then went on a tirade against me and said the following lovely comments: (My name is Amy btw, just to clarify)

Maybe you can get to meet Biden and let him sniff your hair and touch you inappropriately. But he won’t remember anyway. But you might.

Ladies, she’s a full-blown liberal, blinded by all the media lies and she will never realize what Donald Trump and the Republicans actually stand for; they stand for our constitutional rights. The liberals, including Amy, all They want to do is remove our rights and that I can’t deal with! I always found myself in the middle between Republicans and Democrats I didn’t pick a party, I picked a person. When a person stands up for our rights for our Constitution and stands for the people instead of their own pockets or for their own agenda, that’s the person that I vote for! Well, unfortunately liberals don’t stand for the majority, they stand for themselves! They are load, violent, and untrustworthy! So, she falls into that category! So be it, I’m glade I don’t know her, and don’t wish too! I don’t have anything further to say to her. And yes Amy, I’m not gonna respond to your comments because your comments are so far fetched that you’re so blinded that you can’t even realize the good this man has done for this country!!Your hatred goes so far that you don’t even want to see it! So, continue on with your life as you feel fit and hopefully one day you don’t get your wish. Because this country will fall apart right beneath your feet. Then you’ll actually see what you wished for, Communism/socialism, nothing is free in this world work hard and work harder to keep what you have. God Bless, hope you don’t ride the rest of your life off the backs of taxpayers!!

Yes, this is what Trump supporters look like – ignorant to the core. I copied and pasted that, so clearly he can’t spell or form complete sentences either.
    :(

  21. Nightsky says:

I see it as nothing more than a rather transparent preemptive move so when GM turns up dead Trump can shrug and say “but I wished her well” to sidestep the inevitable implications. In the meantime, I would bet he’s plotting her demise…once they (his conspirators) find the mountain of Maxwell’s documented evidence against Trump and all the other rich, powerful pigs who participated in Epstein’s pedo sex ring.

  22. Alex says:

We all need to unite against sex crimes and pedolphilia and stop making it political. I can tell you both Weinstein and Epstein gave millions to the Democratic Party. Can we stop deciding if it was Clinton or trump closer to Epstein and agree that what he and maxwell did was wrong?

    • Emily says:

I’m with you on that. We should hold anyone involved to the same standard regardless of their political leanings. I’ve tried to explain this to Trumpsters who use photos of Bill and Epstein as evidence of rape and shrug off photos of Trump with Epstein and Maxwell. If either were involved, they BOTH need to be held accountable.

      • Alex says:

You may have come across trumpsters as you say, but as an independent, I have honestly seen it on both sides. Everyone knew about Weinstein in Hollywood, but no one spoke up, however they were outraged at trumps language with billy bush in an interview about women. I’m saying we are ALL guilty of it, getting political and when it comes to women and children rights, we don’t have the time. Clinton and trump have both had sleazy moments with women, let’s focus on the justice of the victims of Maxwell and not which political party was closest to them (they both were unfortunately)

  23. SJR says:

    Trump is a complete tool.

The bs he talks is unreal.

    Drink bleach to cure coronavirus.
Mocks JohnMcCain, an actual surviving POW. Trump never served, he got a doctor to excuse him like a 4 y/o gets a note from their Mommy.
    Insults a Gold Star family.
Holds children in cages, separates families, etc. for years.
Just those 4 bs items alone should have had him tossed from office of POTUS!

Every damn day it gets worse. Can’t somebody give that Orange Turd a sleeping pill, please? Sedate him just to shut him up, the rest of us are exhausted.

  24. ChillyWilly says:

    Trump would call it SUV.
