Emma Roberts’ pregnancy cravings are cupcakes and ice cream

Emma Roberts is promoting her holiday movie, Holdiate, with Luke Bracey. Unfortunately, it’s getting mediocre reviews. However, Emma has other things to focus on, like the baby boy she’s expecting with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund. She’s due, I think, early spring. Emma spoke with Glamour as part of her promo rounds. It was kind of a fluff piece, mostly product endorsements and basic preggo questions. With it being Friday and everything coming up next week, I’m pretty good with a good old-fashioned fluff piece. Needless to say, much of the interview focused on food and self-care. Emma said her focus cravings-wise has been on cupcakes and ice-cream.

Her favorite apps: I’m spending too much time on Instagram, that’s for sure, and just ordering too much food on Caviar these days. But I’m also a secret Tumblr lover. I love Tumblr, which is something people don’t know about me—I have six followers on a Tumblr account no one knows is me. It’s my happy space.

Her favorite pregnancy product: There’s this line called Erbaviva that I love. They do really gorgeous, sustainable products for during pregnancy—body oils and stuff that I really love.

Her pregnancy cravings: Sprinkles cupcakes have been my obsession. I love cupcakes in general, but for some reason Sprinkles during my pregnancy, during the pandemic. I can’t enough of them. Salt & Straw ice cream too. They have a Halloween flavor called The Great Candycopia, which—it’s been a problem how much I’ve been eating it.

It’s funny, I’m reading all Emma’s answers thinking, oh yeah, me too and then I had to remind myself that I’m not pregnant, just stressed out. I hadn’t heard of the Caviar app, I assume by the name it’s fancy, why else name it Caviar? But I sure did become dependent on people bringing me food during quarantine – DoorDash, GrubHub, Slice, Instacart. I was *stunned* by my credit card bill. I mean, it was shocking (I have since reigned it in, I assure you). The Erbaviva oil Emma mentioned sounds nice and is pretty well priced. She slips in a couple of well-priced skin/self-care items, actually. She also talked about a Drunk Elephant serum. I’ve just discovered Drunk Elephant as a line and I really like it. I haven’t tried the serum she mentioned, but I use this one and I love it. Emma also references a lot of comfy clothes, but they were all pretty expensive.

The important part, of course, is the food. I have a confession to make, for which I hope you will forgive me: I do not get the excitement over Sprinkles cupcakes. I had them years ago when they first became all the rage and they didn’t do it for me at all. I haven’t had them since so maybe I would change my mind but I kind of doubt it. I do love cupcakes though. I prefer moist cupcakes, maybe that’s it, just a personal preference thing? I looked up the Salt & Straw ice cream Emma referenced and Holy Hannibal – you have to buy it in five pint increments for $65! Do you realize how quickly we cycle through ice cream in our house? I’d go broke. Still, their flavors look so good.

I still want to know how she bagged Garrett Hedlund. I liked him with Kirsten Dunst better

Yeah, I just paid my Amex bill this morning. I signed in to look at it, and was like wtf how did it get to that number? It was all peapod, shipt, and local restaurants I got curbside pickup at. And Chicos. Damn.

During my first pregnancy I had hardcore cravings for Egg McMuffins, and during my second it was Everything bagels. Like, the bagels thing was so bad (every. single. morning) one of my tests actually came back positive for opiates because of the poppy seeds (yes, just like Elaine in Seinfeld!). I was tested again and all was good but when my daughter was born they had to drug test her because of that stupid test result, it was so humiliating.

Now I’m craving cupcakes and ice cream. Not too much frosting on the cupcakes.

When I was pregnant, I wanted filling comfort food. Lots and lots of mashed potatoes and roast potatoes with gravy. I also started drinking Coca Cola and haven’t been able to stop since (she’s 18 months old now).

I watched Holidate! I enjoyed it. It’s trash but fun trash.

I will say that she’s almost fragile looking at times so I can’t imagine she’s eating all this stuff, pregnancy or not

Omg. I love the background in the second pic. It’s 100% me lol. As for cupcake cravings, that’s never NOT been a craving lol. And our grocery and restaurant delivery certainly needs curtailing. Instacart added Sam’s, and I’m giddy with anticipation. We’ve been Instacarting, Doordashing, Grubhubbing, Ubering, Favoring, Amazon Freshing, and ordering from online butcheries, seafood and various farms. We’ve recently decided that by ordering scrumptious food from the latter is far superior than what restaurants are putting out. 😁 So there’s that.

I just watched Holidate yesterday and I liked it. It wasn’t great but it was definitely cute. And not as predictable as one might expect-
Anyway I wasn’t sure about the guy at the beginning but was sold on him by the end.
And she’s actually great in it. She’s matured a little and it looks good on her. But, I love the genre.
Did you see Little Italy? With her and Hayden P. I loved that too.

Be aware all those who use services, I know grub hub and door dash charge the person who orders and the restaurant to deliver. The restaurants I frequent tell me they lose money on those orders. The deliverers get all the tips too when it’s the restaurant or shop that puts the order together.

I’m curious what do celebs get for the name drop/ advertising of a company? Especially if it is a national publication like Glamour? Money? Free stuff? Is it formal like a contract or?
She seems to work regularly and do pretty well career/ financially.

Loved Holidate. Was it good? No. Was it necessary in these dark and painful times? Hell yes. Bad Christmas movies are exactly what I need right now and I am going to be chasing the Netflix dragon straight through to Christmas morn.

I loved Holidate! Would watch again.
I can easily go years without having any cupcakes, but to each pregnant lady her own!

I dont remember her being so open in the past, the pessimist in me wonders if her team is telling her to use this pregnancy to make her look more sweet to deflect from her bad reputation previously. Hope im wrong but i dont know, look at her family
