Jenny McCarthy reveals her weight for a good cause

Jenny McCarthy didn’t hold back from telling a drunk-looking Kathy Lee Gifford her number. No, not the number of guys Jenny has slept with, Jenny revealed her weight on the Today show yesterday morning. For some reason, this is getting a lot of play. I guess because female celebrities don’t often say their weight out loud, much less on live television? Jenny has nothing to be ashamed of – she weighs 125 pounds, and she gives her height as five foot six inches. She looks healthy to me – I could even see her with an extra ten to twenty pounds and she would still look healthy and fit.

Jenny McCarthy weighed more than 200 pounds when she delivered her son, Evan. But that was seven years ago, and now she is a Weight Watchers “lifer.”

Though she may not be posing for Playboy again, McCarthy is happy with her weight. Wine in hand, she shared that number with Hoda and Kathie Lee on the Today show.

“I’m normal for LA,” she said. “5’6,” 125 pounds.”

“I’m 5’9,” 145 pounds,” Hoda chimed in.

“You should be proud!” McCarthy told her. “That’s a good weight!” Kathie Lee declined to share her weight with America.

Of course Kathy Lee declined to tell her number. She doesn’t know how much a box of “morning wine” weighs. Anyhoodle, Jenny revealed her “number” all to promote her role in Weight Watchers “Lose For Good” campaign, which targets obesity and hunger. For the next month and a half, Jenny will be helping Weight Watchers raise up to $1 million for Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger, projects that target those issues domestically and abroad. So far, Jenny has participated in donating “Good Food Garden” in Altadena, CA and given a lot of press to the joint causes. Good stuff.

I like this girl. She uses her fame for good causes and you have to give her credit for that.

That’s awesome, and she looks fabulous. I just wish she weren’t so delusional about vaccines and autism.

  3. jess says:

horrible. what does “good weight” mean anyway? and as for that what does ” normal for LA” mean? numbers are important to a degree but it’s about being healthy overall.

  5. lilred says:

At least she has causes that she supports, and it’s not just about her.
    I like her too.

  6. Ana says:

For some reason, I thought she would weigh less. Not that 125 is heavy or anything, she just looks really really super tiny.

  7. Vibius says:

She looks great. Shes might be crazy, but she still looks good.

What’s with the towel behind Jenny in the chair?

  9. MizzExpert says:

That old crone Kathy Lee probably weighs less than her IQ.

  10. original kate says:

    kathy lee is hideous. ugh.

125 pounds makes sense actually. She’s tiny but not without some guns. 😉 Muscle weighs more than fat*, after all.

*A fact that apparently my Wii Fit can’t grasp. I’m training for triathlons, and although it’s evident I’m toning up, it never fails to yell at me for gaining weight.

Not in Los Angeles, it’s not!

  13. Mel says:

Those fake books probably weigh a lot as well!

  14. Maria86 says:

Yes, especially if they are hardcover books! 😉 😉

I hate when women use their top pregnancy weight as a comparison to their post-pregnancy weight and really for years after the baby is born. I weighed 201 the day my son was born. I didn’t join WW or Jenny Craig or Alli or any of those diet things and I lost weight. She’s an airhead who likes to hear the sound of her own voice.

  16. Ana says:

Maria86–The Wii calculates your BMI which only takes consideration of your height and weight. I remember in high school we got weighed and measured and then a note got sent to our parents telling us if we were underweight, “healthy” or overweight.
A girl I knew was considered overweight. Which was such bullcrap. She was a member of the basketball team and very tall. She was solid, not overweight.

What’s wrong with her using her top weight? I don’t get it. She weighed that much and had a difficult time getting it off. I can’t believe she has the will power to do it. I read her book “Belly Laughs” and she talked about making brownies everyday and eating them all! No wonder she gained so much weight!

If I had gotten that big, I wouldn’t have been able to move. I’m shorter and could barely handle the 36 lbs I gained!

  17. Maria86 says:

    Good point, Ana.
Using only BMI can be quite a flawed way to determine how healthy one is. I think what frustrates me the most about Wii Fit is that if you gain weight, it HAS to be because you ate too much junk food or binged…
Hopefully, when/if they come out with a newer version of a fit game, they’ll modify options and guidance through the Body Test.
