I really thought Rapinoe and Bird were already married. I have no idea why I believed that, other than the fact that they act like an old, married couple. I’m thrilled for them, though.

Yup, I canā€™t wait for your election to be over (but only if the Orange stain is voted out). Itā€™s nerve wracking. If I were American I would have a full on breakdown.

For real. I actually am using up my pto for a two week vacation because of stress from the coronavirus mess and election. I work in healthcare and simply cannot handle it right now.

      • Wilma says:

        I hope youā€™ll get a good rest!

@ Kynesgrove89, my heart goes out to you. My husband is a physician, though is a retina physician, and the utter stupidity that we see on a daily basis it utterly disgusting. On a side note, living in Texas, during the 2016 election with my yard littered with Sanders, then Clinton signs, my husband AND daughter were both verbally abused during that election period by his OWN patients!!!šŸ¤¬. This year, after purchasing 15+ signs for Biden/Harris, climate change and BLM to name a few, once I found out about the verbal abuse that they uttered towards my husband, a man that is the only retina specialist for this and the 5 surrounding counties, I had to place our safety OVER my political stance. I was not going to give them any evidence of abuse. I was so angry that I couldnā€™t speak, and as a Spaniard/Dane mix, that is not easy to do.

It sucks. I am bracing myself for riots. I am hoping that Biden beats the crap out of Trump so badly that the smug asshats (the type who like driving campaign buses off of roadways) have to eat some crow, but since they’re unhinged gun toting, 4000 lb vehicle driving maniacs, I hope they have the sense to just stay home. Fat chance.

I’m prepping for Trump to refuse to accept the results and file a bunch of appeals. He has already told us he is going to, and I see no reason not to believe him. And these morons eat up everything he says, so if he says the results are wrong, they will fall for it. If Biden loses, those of us who can’t stand the idea of another four years of insanity are going to have mental breakdowns. It’s going to be hideously bad. Every American should gas up, get groceries, fill their meds, and make sure they have a self care plan in place. I’m going off Facebook for the week, personally.

I will never forget how I felt the day after his election in 2016. I am getting anxiety even thinking about feeling that way again on Wednesday morning.

I went off facebook for the rest of the week (not that I’m really even on facebook all that much anyway – I think I have like 5 friends…) Enough of the hate, vitriol, and utter stupidity.

      +1.
It’s bad enough watching it from the other side of the world. I couldn’t sleep last night from worrying about it.

God, f*ck Ernst. Iā€™m from Iowa and definitely voted against her (but sheā€™s currently ahead in the polls, unfortunately). Frustrates me to no end how many of my fellow Iowans continue to vote in Republican politicians who donā€™t give a damn about their constituents.

    • lucy2 says:

There were some crazy polls that just came out of Iowa. Fivethirtyeight’s still got them pretty much tied, with Greenfield around +1. Hopefully Ernst loses, she is terrible. How is voter turn out in Iowa?

  4. JanetDR says:

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed the Justified article. It is probably the most violent thing I have ever enjoyed watching, and I always kept something else on hand to look at when I needed to turn away.
It was so well done and so much like Leonard’s stories, a true homage. It’s odd to watch Olyphant in something light and comedic after Justified (and to an extent, Deadwood) and see him not play a character full of suppressed rage. I really admire him as an actor. but honestly, every character was amazingly well done. There was one season that I hated, can’t remember which one at the moment, but every decision Raylan made about a female character was poor and it tortured me!

    • Lady2Lazy says:

@ JanetDRm I enjoyed the article as well. As for the series, I never read the books, but I did watch that series twice!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am not one to watch any type of Marshallā€™s or country folk movie or show. The cast and writing were both outstanding and the entire series was extremely enjoyable, even if I am more into suspense/thrillers or any other type of genre.

    • lucy2 says:

One of my all time favorites. Superb writing and acting all around, and my favorite Leonard adaptation.

  5. Zaya says:

I generally like John Mulaney, but his monologue about how things wonā€™t be different whether trump or Biden wins, the weekend before the most important election of our lifetime is an appallingly bad take. Maybe, it wonā€™t be different for him, a rich, white cis-gendered man, but itā€™ll be different for a lot of people.

    • Jess says:

Zaya, that was my take. He’s in a privileged position so doesn’t have to think about how Supreme Court appointments alone have a huge impact on women, the LGTBQI+ community, and so many other marginalized communities. Ugh. But the news about Sue and Megan is awesome and the type of good news I need to help me get through this terrifying week!

      • Lady2Lazy says:

@ Jess, bravo! Agree 125%!! All of these white fat cats wonā€™t care because they are the exception, not the rule. The others that are not in the 1% will feel the affects, not him and his white rich buddies and the corporate fat a$$e$ that cheat every which way to Sunday to cheat on their taxes, including Agent Orange.
As for Sue and Meghan, such wonderful news and I wish them all of the best in their marriageā¤ļø

I was so disappointed in him! What a completely tone deaf and plain wrong monologue. His selfish privilege was on full display. It has changed my opinion of him.

    • Alarmjaguar says:

Exactly-when I watched it last night, I thought, sure easy for him to say. It was really disappointing b./c I like him and his horse on the hospital but was brilliant. But that was just lazy
