RHOBH has multiple castmembers test positive, including Kyle, Kathy and Dorit

Earlier this week, Real Housewives of Beverly Hill’s Garcelle Beauvais told Entertainment Tonight that filming had shut down last Tuesday after a crew member tested positive for Covid-19. Garcelle said that they get tested three times a week, that their household members are tested and that the entire cast and crew was quarantining for fourteen days after that positive test. At that point Garcelle had no symptoms and said she had tested negative. Not all the cast members were as lucky. TMZ is reporting that Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton and Dorit Kemsley all have it, but that they have relatively mild cases and supposedly got it after hanging out with each other, not on set.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton and Dorit Kemsley have also tested positive for COVID-19. We’re told they are all recovering at home and none of the women had serious symptoms.

The series started filming its new season toward the end of October, and our sources say there were safety protocols in place including testing and temperature checks … but that couldn’t stop a COVID outbreak from impacting production.

Our sources say Kyle, Kathy and Dorit did not contract COVID on set, but Kathy and Kyle were hanging out together — after all, they’re sisters — and Dorit was along for the ride.

We’re told all 3 ladies are in the end stages of the virus, and should be ok.

I don’t like how some outlets are reporting “mild” covid like it’s not a big deal. Even mild cases can have lasting effects like heart damage, blood clotting, fatigue and migraines. People who don’t need to be hospitalized can still get chronic illness from it. I hope all these women are ok.

So many of these shows are using testing as a substitute for social distancing and wearing masks. What’s more is that several of the RHOBH cast have young adult children at home. Their kids are surely hanging out with other people and then the RHOBH women are hanging out with different friends and each other. Of course they got covid! It’s just so predictable. Closed film sets that take place in remote locations (except for say, Australia and other places where it’s under control) are having to shut down due to positive cases. I just don’t think reality TV should be filming at this time. You know they’ll make it into a storyline too.

Kathy Hilton looks… different

I hope they’re okay. This used to be my guilty secret TV.
I cannot bear Losa Rinna and their group behaviour last season toward Denise Richards showed a really abusive, petty and, I felt, homophobic side to them
    As an aside
Have they all been face tuned? Heavily?
Also can Dorit please stop posing like a catalogue dolly.

    • OnceUponA says:

Serious question. In that photo posted by Kyle Richards, is she the paralyzed figure on the far left?

If so, she has tweaked every iota of humanity from her face & looks like an entitled cyborg?

      • BeanieBean says:

I’m guessing that’s a daughter–the group of four are her offspring; in the last photo, with five of them, Kyle is on the right. And I thought the same as you until I clicked through the photos.

I love Lisa but she was vile last season. That being said, I can’t believe Denise didn’t just own up to what happened. How are you dumb enough to hook up with Brandi Glanville and expect that BG’s going to keep that under wraps??

  2. Chica1971 says:

This use of. “ mild” perpetuates the cold/flu myth so folks think they emerged unscathed.
On Tik Tom yesterday was a video of two of the casts using plastic sheilds and no masks dancing! There we were quite a few no maskers

  3. minx says:

This nonsense about constant testing sounds Trumpian.

  4. Nina Simone says:

I also find it ridiculous that they are filming at this time. But I guess money talks. Rumor has it that the RHOA has had to be shut down several times too due to cast and crew members testing positive. It’s irresponsible

    • BeanieBean says:

Agreed. I watched the OC last night, which showed some scenes from next week. Social distancing and mask wearing meant nothing to these people; they still went to the tennis club, the resort, the many restaurants, stores, etc. Talked about how it would be over in two months, Big Pharma just wants to sell you vaccines, flipped out over lack of paper towels, and on and on. I’d been away from TV for awhile, and now I’m thinking why even turn it on? I’d rather read or stream something that I really like & that makes me feel good.

I totally agree with you re: the false sense of security about most cases being “mild”. I have, for instance, no doubt that if I were to get the virus, I would physically survive, which in the short-term seems fine. But not enough attention is being paid to the long-term symptoms, especially by people under 40. I have several friends who are athletes, run multiple marathons a year, and before COVID were in the best physical condition of their lives. But they were unlucky and got COVID in March when NYC got slammed. And now almost eight months after recovering are still having difficulty walking before getting winded. These long-term effects are the scariest because we don’t yet know how permanent they are. It’s not a joke and I wish people weren’t so cavalier about mild cases, especially now when it’s clear we’ll have an effective vaccine and we just need to keep the course for several more months.

    • Emm says:

Same here. I have a cousin who has run in the Chicago marathon for years. She thinks she got it in March although she couldn’t get a test because at that point everything was brand new and nobody in the Midwest seemed to know anything. Anyway, to this day she can hardly run a couple of miles without pain in her chest.

    • Nic says:

Have they been tested for POTS/dysautonomia? A friend of mine got that after having Covid back in March and she is still pretty much bed bound. I already have it, though a milder case and am terrified of getting Covid because of it.

    • Courtney B says:

This is so true. My cousin, in her early thirties, caught it at her workplace. She regularly runs in 5ks, etc. Still has trouble now plus hasn’t regained her sense of smell.

  6. GoogleIt says:

I think I read yesterday that Beverly Hills is suing LA so they don’t have to abide by restaurant COVID restrictions. Why should the rich give up (not) eating at their favorite 5-star restaurant? I would say, “Eat the rich,” but I am afraid the meat is probably infected.

  7. Zaya says:

Yeah a friend’s bro had a mild case too, but ended up with heart arrhythmia. He’s 42.

  8. Beech says:

You can be asymptomatic but a lung scan will tell a different story.

  9. Lanie says:

Kathy Hilton has a whole new head. She doesn’t even look like her daughters or sisters anymore.

    • Emm says:

Holy crap! I saw that pic and assumed it was that dorit person since I’ve never seen her but then saw it was Kathy Hilton’s IG. I clicked on it to see if she had posted a pic of someone else, like a friend or something. WTF, that is supposed to be Paris Hilton’s mom? That is a different person. The nose is completely different. I honestly don’t believe this is her???

  10. Maxime duCamp says:

This was one of my mindless TV on almost 24/7 to take my mind off COVID at the very start of the pandemic (watched on HULU so not the most recent season). I hope everyone is safe but for me, the real RHOBH scandal is what’s going on with Erica Jayne and her husband’s divorce and both are being accused of siphoning money from a charity. When the divorce news first broke there was speculation that it was to protect his money from something; now it seems that we have the answer.
