Prince Andrew lied during his BBC interview about staying with Jeffrey Epstein in NYC

Prince Andrew interview

Over the weekend, the Daily Mail ran a number of stories about Prince Andrew and his many Jeffrey Epstein connections. None of what they reported is new information, it’s mostly just old stuff, repackaged with one or two new minor details. Either you believe that Andrew’s “Pizza Express” alibi was total crap or you don’t, what matter is it if Princess Beatrice can’t remember if her father took her to Pizza Express on that very day? Anyway, here’s a story about how Andrew lied to the BBC’s Emily Maitlis about staying at Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan home:

Prince Andrew’s relationship with dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was back under the microscope Sunday evening after British newspaper the Daily Mail revealed that Andrew was misleading when he told the BBC he did not stay at Epstein’s house when he was in New York in April 2001. He was questioned on camera by Emily Maitlis of the BBC about his movements during the three-day trip because one Epstein victim, Johanna Sjoberg, had previously accused Andrew of a bizarre groping incident at Epstein’s home involving a Spitting Image puppet on the trip. Another Epstein victim, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, claims that it was after the groping incident that she was ordered to have sex with “Andy.”

When Andrew was interrogated by Maitlis on camera about Sjoberg’s allegation, he conceded that he might have visited the property during the trip but denied staying there. Andrew said, in a stumbling reply: “I probably did… because of what I was doing I was staying with the consul general which is further down the street on Fifth so I wasn’t… I wasn’t staying there. I may have visited but definitely didn’t, definitely, definitely no, no, no activity.”

However, the Daily Mail, quoting an official itinerary, reports that Andrew’s official schedule specifies that on the last night of his American trip he was staying at a “private address.” The Mail says, “That address was Epstein’s home near Central Park,” citing confidential sources. It adds that a British police bodyguard also spent the night at Epstein’s townhouse, the largest private residence in the city.

The Mail adds that “well-placed sources” and “sources close to Andrew” are now conceding that he did stay there and are now making the argument that he stayed there “to save taxpayers’ money.” On the record, Andrew’s team told the Mail: “It would not be appropriate to comment on any of these matters.”

The revelation is due to be published in Monday’s paper as the latest installment of the Mail’s renewed investigation of Andrew’s links to Epstein. The investigation has already called into question Andrew’s famous “pizza alibi.” The Mail also reports on a gap of a few hours set aside in New York for what was called “Private Time” in the duke’s confidential tour itinerary. It alleges that this “private time” time slot coincides with the time he allegedly had sex with Roberts Giuffre at Epstein’s. This was allegedly on April 9, after the puppet groping incident.

[From The Daily Beast]

“It alleges that this “private time” time slot coincides with the time he allegedly had sex with Roberts Giuffre at Epstein’s.” Raped. Not “had sex with.” Raped. Raped a minor who was trafficked to him by a pedophile. This is why I’m not actually using the Daily Mail’s coverage to write this – they’re still in the 1980s era of exploitative language, calling Virginia a “sex slave” and Epstein a “pimp.” This is so gross. Anyway, yeah, of course Andrew stayed with Epstein at his home. Of course Epstein provided Andrew with minors to abuse and rape. Of course Andrew lied about all of it. The question is, will Donald Trump hand down any pardons around this situation? What happens if Trump pardons Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell? I’m really asking.

Yeah, I am sure he did lie, because he is guilty. I was just thinking the other day, what is happening with Ghislaine Maxwell, any new stories? I have not seen any.
And, so IF Trump pardons Ghislaine – can he? Does the court case have to provide a verdict first? Because if he pardons her without a verdict and she accepts the pardon, she is admitting wrong doing. Second, let’s say Trump pardons her – can she be used to testify against Trump later if she has dirt on him as well?

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

When you accept a pardon you’re removing your protection from self incrimination. You can be used against others, yes. But do people suddenly say all that stuff they’ve tried to hide? No.

    • Mac says:

Maxwell will never spill the beans nor will she accept a pardon. She is confident she will prevail.

      • Seraphina says:

has there been any news on her????? I have been waiting to hear what tea she may spill, but have been distracted with the craziness of Trump and his minions.

  2. Cryptkeeper says:

“Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive.”

  3. Rapunzel says:

Wait… so he didn’t go to the Woking Pizza Express?

Where’s my shocked face? I need my shocked face? Has anyone seen my shocked face?

I feel like I’ve just discovered Santa is not real.

Next thing you know, we’ll hear it was a lie that he blew out his sweat glands in the Faulklands. I won’t believe it.

Has anyone seen my shocked face, dangit!?

    • ThatsNotOkay says:

Andrew was one of the original Sweathogs and palled around with Vinny Babarino and “Epstein.”

    • BnLurkN4eva says:

@Rapunzel, you had me laughing so hard someone came and checked on me to see if I was ok and now it’s official people know my work secret. “My shocked face” is going to give me the giggles all day. Damn it I have a meeting to attend in that I just know I am going to crack up in.

      • Rapunzel says:

BNLURKN4EVA- sorry for the inconvenient laugh attack. In my defense, this post was extra silly cause I hadn’t had my coffee.

Im pretty sure Andrew doesn’t want a pardon from trump–a pardon means he’s admitting to wrongdoing, and then for the rest of his life, he has “pardoned by trump” associated with him. With Trump going down the Mussolini path and encouraging treason and sedition, it certainly wouldn’t do to have a member of the RF “pardoned by Trump.” This will not help him in whatever “rehabilitation” plans Mommy wants for him. Trump is radioactive, and soon, no one with any kind of future ambitions will want to be connected with him. Trump’s domain will be solely white supremacists and fascists. Even Nazi Barbie and her Fascist Ken have been silent during this meltdown. The stink of Andrew will follow the York Princesses, the quuen, and the RF as a whole until the Queen dies and Andy can be safely exiled. If Trump offers him a parson, my guess is that Andy will refuse it, as he will claim “he has done nothing wrong for which he needs to be pardoned”

    • Coco says:

It’s not like the FBI is going to try to extradite him. I doubt they’ll ever even charge him with anything in absentia. All Andrew has to do is avoid visiting the US, and, considering his bestie is dead, I don’t think that will difficult for him.

  5. Becks1 says:

Of course he lied. Is anyone surprised? The only surprise is that the Mail is actually doing this series of stories.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

Andrew is toxic and the DM isn’t even going that hard at him. He’s protected as long as Queen petty lives. After that… all hell will break loose on him.

  6. Caitlin Bruce says:

Did anyone actually believe him? That would be the more of a shock. I still can’t believe he is/was The Queens favourite child.

    • indywom says:

I think that she knows she failed as a parent and she is only acting out of guilt.

      • Kalana says:

I think the Queen is being true to her class and closing ranks against people who think they have a right to judge her family. She also likes being around awful people. I recently saw the photograph of the Queen Mother being photographed unveiling a statue depicting a white man subjugating a black man. This was a royal engagement. The Queen has lived her life surrounded by people with terrible hateful takes on the worth of other people who are not exactly like them. Andrew fits in with that crowd.

Also, I have always wondered if the “Instagram models” William was photographed being friendly and a bit handsy with in Switzerland a few years ago were actually escorts and that’s why he was so unguarded with them. Otherwise that behavior seems out of character for William since getting married. Upsettingly enough, the Queen may think Ms. Giuffre is an escort making trouble rather than a child who was a victim of being trafficked.

  7. ThatsNotOkay says:

In order to accept a pardon, one must admit guilt. So Ghislaine and Andrew would have to acknowledge that they committed these heinous acts in order to be pardoned for them. Not sure which they’d find worse–going to prison and never admitting guilt or admitting guilt and remaining free (but never a senior royal again, for Andrew).

  8. kelleybelle says:

He told nothing but lies throughout the interview. I watched hours of body language commentary on it, REAL body language analysis. It was so good that I watched it twice.

  9. Sofia says:

    Andrew lied? Nooooooooooo

    (sarcasm)

  10. Ann says:

Legit this makes me nauseous. I think a huge pardoning spree is on the horizon and Maxwell is getting one. Andrew too if he is ever charged and forced to come back to America (correct me if I’m wrong but he is a huge flight risk, no?) Thank God for the state investigations. So many monsters to take down.

  11. Amy Bee says:

Is it really a revelation that Andrew was lying in his BBC interview? If he was innocent he would have spoken to the FBI already.

  12. Digital Unicorn says:

The gloves are off, the Fail has likely more evidence and this is just the beginning. They have nothing on the Sussex’s and the Cambridges leak to the Sun so this is the Fail making it know that if they don’t get leaks they will drop their payload on them all. You just know they have the good on Willileaks and Top CEO.

  13. Linda says:

He (I can’t even print his name) was obviously lying throughout the interview. His body language screamed “LYING ASSHOLE”. More will come out. People that hate him because he treated them like dirt are going to talk. Especially the servants.

  14. Jay says:

Would the bodyguard who allegedly had to stay in the Epstein house be considered a private employee? A member of law enforcement? If do, couldn’t they be charged with a crime if they stood by while criminal activity was taking place? Hard to prove, but would be interesting if they could be deposed after all this time. I’ll bet they have alllllll the dirt on Andrew, he’s not exactly discreet, I’ll bet growing up surrounded by servants means he speaks freely in front of “the help” i.e. his security detail.

  15. ABritGuest says:

And water is wet. The Fail can’t even say straight he lied. So they are still protecting him. Everyone knows he is lying & the Fail knows there’s no appetite in the Establishment to do something about Andrew eg force him to cooperate with US authorities. So this story is to make them look like they do actually do journalism on the royals & also distract from ongoing Brexit mess. They won’t make any demands at end of this.

  16. Esme says:

So has Andrew annoyed the RF to the point they’re thinking of dropping him? He was the only child of the Queen to be excluded from the New Firm pics (I think those were more about Andrew than H&M, whatever the press said) – and Eugenie was made to leave Frogmore Cottage. Does she need to hide and weather the storm of Andrew’s inevitable FBI interview? Might the RF know what’s coming for him?

  17. S808 says:

the situation isn’t funny but the fact that he thought this interview went well and he sufficiently cleared everything up will never not make me laugh 😭

  18. Cecilia says:

Everybody with half a brain knows that this man lied. What im surprised about is that uk publications are talking about this since they’ve mostly kept quiet about andrew. Did the windsors forget to pay someone at the daily heil or is something coming out in the lawsuit and can’t andrew be protected anymore?

    • Dollycoa says:

Yes Im surprised theyve gone for him. They have been going all out to protect the Royals in recent times. I cant believe they even did an i nvestigation!
