At no point did Trump actually give a f–k about Americans during the pandemic. He hasn’t cared enough to actually throw his support behind a comprehensive pandemic relief/economic stimulus bill. He never cared enough to wear a mask consistently, or to encourage social-distancing, or to ensure that American hospitals had what they needed with equipment, medicine or PPE. There has never been a national mask mandate. Trump refused to give guidance or political cover to states when it came to lockdowns or reopenings. To this very day, there are moron MAGA people “protesting” lockdowns and local mask mandates. Americans and American businesses have been left to die (literally) by this incompetent and evil “president” and his administration. Blanket lockdowns ARE grounded in science, Ivanka. But even more than that, blanket lockdowns are the last resort for cities and states trying to contain a deadly virus and protect the collapsing hospital system, all while receiving zero support from your father’s incompetent administration. If states and localities had guidance back in March, if the government was actually paying people to stay home and paying businesses to stay closed, then maybe we wouldn’t need these f–king lockdowns IN DECEMBER.

What’s really bad and not known by very many is Trump knew of virus in Nov 2019 and warned Israel and NATO but didn’t do one thing to warn Americans or prevent it from coming to the US. The Israel Times had an article about it.

Chica it absolutely worked in Victoria in Aus. They were recording 700 odd cases daily and got up to 20,000 cases approx before lockdown. Now since lockdown has finished they haven’t had a community transmission in 47 days and counting.

Australia and New Zealand did the hard work of locking down and now…businesses aren’t collapsing, people have relatively normal lives, and they don’t have bodies piled up waiting for lonely burials. Yes, blanket shutdowns are bad for small businesses. So is having small businesses and their customers get COVID-19 and die. If only the Trump administration had prioritized working with Congress on continued financial support for small businesses hurt by the loss of business due to COVID-19 — along with that others have previously commented on re: better testing, mask wearing rules etc — these businesses might not have failed. Instead, Trump has spent the last half of the year focusing on the election (and his subsequent loss) instead of prioritizing getting this virus under control and helping small businesses and millions of struggling Americans, many of whom are losing unemployment benefits and getting evicted from their homes.
