Hilaria Baldwin was confused about her legal name on her old federal tax forms

Over the weekend, Page Six had a hilarious story about “Hilaria,” who is actually Hillary Hayward-Thomas. As we know, Hillary has been lying about everything for years now – she pretended to be Spanish, she used a phony accent, she lied about her family and on and on. It’s still remarkable to me that no one really thought to put together all of her lies, although – as I keep saying – there were rumors for a decade, and honestly, no one *wanted* to pay close attention to Hillary. No one cared. She was and is a compulsive oversharer and famewhore. People didn’t want to give her the time. But here we are. Page Six went through the paperwork on a lawsuit against Hillary, and the lawsuit included the business records for her yoga studio in Manhattan.

Pseudo-Spaniard Hilaria Baldwin was so confused about her alternating identities that she appeared to struggle when signing a federal tax form. When it came time to put her Juan Hancock at the bottom of a 2009 W-4 document, Hilaria — who has spent 10 years pretending to be a Spanish-speaking native of Mallorca — scribbled down two names, then crossed them out and ultimately wrote, “Hillary L. Hayward-Thomas.”

The document is an exhibit in an old lawsuit against her Yoga Vida studio in Union Square. The court records also contain the code of conduct for the studio’s instructors, including an ironic and ardent directive about honesty.

“Truth is defined to be when thoughts and words correspond directly to facts,” it reads. “Gossiping and misleading others for personal interest conflict with truthfulness.”

The court papers were filed in a 2013 lawsuit brought by man who was injured at the sixth-floor studio when he smashed his leg through a window while doing a handstand. Spencer Wolff, 39, a documentary filmmaker and novelist, ripped open his left leg and foot after he lost his balance in a crowded class on Jan. 15, 2013. The dramatic fall sent shards of glass flying into the street and smeared blood across the floor.

By that time, the beautiful yoga guru and Alec Baldwin had been married two years and Hillary L. Hayward-Thomas was publicly proclaiming to be Hilaria. A former student told the Post she almost always taught her classes in a “European” accent.

The lawsuit was settled a year later and Wolff is bound by a non-disclosure agreement to not talk about it.

[From Page Six]

I honestly laughed at the “Juan Hancock” joke, but I think “Juanita Hancock” probably would have worked better! Anyway, yeah – just further evidence that “Hilaria” was always a fiction and she never even bothered to change her legal name for her business. And teaching her classes in a “European” accent… dios mio.

The rest of Page Six’s story is a summary of the lawsuit with the broken glass and Spencer Wolff, who was the one who sued Hillary and Yoga Vida. The Yoga Vida studio is in an old building and the glass windows were old too, and not up to NYC yoga-studio code. There should have been break-away glass and there wasn’t, which is why Wolff’s injuries were so bad. While they settled out of court, Wolff’s friend Zev Starr-Tambor spoke to Page Six about Hillary’s lack of empathy for Wolff. Apparently, Alec Baldwin bullied Wolff online and Hillary came up to Wolff in the Hamptons:

Starr-Tambor lives with his wife in the Amagansett area, where the Baldwins reside, and Wolff frequently visits when he’s in town. They desperately try to duck the power couple.

“It’s a small place and Alec is out and about a lot,” Starr-Tambor said. “We always hide. Who knows what he could do.” But one day, when they were both at Hampton Chutney for lunch, Starr-Tambor said Hilaria spotted Wolff and made a beeline for him.

“Hilaria recognized him and proceeded to rant about how he traumatized her,” Starr-Tambor recalled. “Spencer said, ‘But I was the one who was hurt. I’m the one with the leg that still hurts.’ She went on, ‘But yes you traumatized me, the experience was so terrible.’ It was a similar doubling down to what she’s doing now.”

[From Page Six]

That’s one of the things that’s been pretty striking in all of these “Hilaria” stories too – her utter self-absorption, her need to center herself in all stories and narratives, and all of her lies to make herself the most important, the most “exotic,” the most misunderstood, etc. Turns out she’s not only a complete liar and fraud, she’s also just a complete narcissist.

    Liars will always out themselves.

    Umm isn’t this fraud?

  3. Midge says:

The narcissism is also why Hilary turned Amy Schumer’s self-deprecating post into an attack on Hilary’s body.

    • Va Va Kaboom says:

Ehh, people did attack her body (through online bullying) though. Just because Amy Schumer meant it to be self-deprecating doesn’t change the fact people actually went after Hilaria for her body, eating habits, etc because of that post. However, I don’t doubt she was all too happy to use the situation to her advantage.

  4. SarahCS says:

How is there room in this marriage for both their egos?

  5. Redder says:

It’s so funny how fast my mind runs during COVID, because I’m so bored of this story. I actually forgot about her until I saw this headline. I couldn’t get enough last week, but I’m bored of it. SHE is boring. I hope she feels shame and embarrassment, and hides (she won’t). The internet has already moved on too, with Bean Dad.

    • Bettyrose says:

Same! This was my obsession last week and now I’m cursing COVID again for keeping all the good stories on hiatus (and for many other reasons, obviously).

  6. GrnieWnie says:

This is so wild! I know so many people who use different names in different languages. But we are all crystal clear on which name to use in which language. I mean, say you get divorced/married and you change your name in practice but never get around to doing it legally. You know this fact, right? You never forget it. Your legal name is on your SSN card, for instance, and your tax return. How can she be so unclear on what her legal name is? Especially since presumably, she has no real claims to Spain. At best, she might have residency there (probably not even that). She wouldn’t have any ID documents from there. So how can you be confused about your name?? I use three different names in three different countries and I am crystal clear on which is which! It’s really just a matter of formatting and transliteration.

    • StormsMama says:

I think she wasn’t confused. I think she considered lying but then thought better of it bc it might void the settlement. She thought about the legality. And how it would reflect on her. It’s always ALWAYS about her.
Alec may be a blowhard but I am certain that she manipulated him and played him like a fiddle and got him in lock step –
And he is still free to be himself-
She isn’t needy in his eyes bc she’s so sufficient. So he can be his big ego blowhard self. And she can continue to control the narrative and further entrench herself in his life.
He needs Katie Holmes level family and lawyers to get out from this Hilario marriage and he’s too “us against the world” stubborn to realize he’s been duped.

      • Sayrah says:

I wonder why she never officially changed her name.

      • TriendnTried says:

The hair on my neck stands up w this lady. Seriously. Is she gonna crack under the weight of this all coming out? Scares. BTW, she’s not even a certified yoga teacher- in 2006 or so, she was somehow “attached” to a married yoga studio owner- then he asked her to “apprentice” w him. 2wks later- boom- she’s the star teacher at his NYC studio w zero certs. He’s a known predator – all 4 of his locations closed amidst allegation of rape/cult atmosphere/labor violations. HE claimed “oh de covid” but class action lawsuits are coming his way! Fast forward to Alec stating he “fell in love w his Spanish yoga teacher”. She’s a fraud. She didn’t feel accomplished enough to be the partner of a famous actor. She’s not accomplished- she’s a salesperson.

    • Tiffany :) says:

There are definitely people that have more than 1 name for work reasons. As in, they might have 1 professional name registered with a guild or union or product line and use it in public, and then a personal name that is their legal name and on their tax documents, etc.

  7. Sequinedheart says:

I really am curious to see how this all shakes out.
The more than comes to light, oy… the worse and worse it gets for both of them.

    • Josie Bean says:

Yes, same. The fake accent, misleading so many people that she and her family were “from” Spain (really pathetic). Her parents must be brokenhearted although I don’t understand how they could not know she was living a lie (unless they never saw her on a TV talk show). Her husband perpetuated the “Spanish” myth because he liked being married to a young “Spanish” beauty. She and her husband can blame each other for their lack of credibility when the work dries up.

She is such a beautiful woman – this was all so unnecessary and so very stupid.

    • TriendnTried says:

Even hillary’s stepdaughter, Ireland, assumed she was “Latina”. The dupe is deep.

  8. BeanieBean says:

NYC has a yoga studio code?

    • AMA1977 says:

Most cities have pages and pages of code specifications for all kinds of businesses. I’m sure there are regulations regarding just about any money-making venture you can imagine in most mid-size-to-large cities across the country.

  9. Sayrah says:

Alec’s anger is legit scary. And Hilaria is the perpetual victim in all stories isn’t she?

  10. Angie says:

It’s great that she’s had so many kids. I’m sure that will turn out well.

    • cdnKitty says:

To me the kids make SO much sense – a woman receives so much attention when gestating and in the new baby/little kid stage. Keep pumping them out for attention, but even that will dry up (a la Tori Spelling).

  11. Mina_Esq says:

She is the female Alec Baldwin, as it were.

  12. samipup says:

Check out DC Urban Moms and Dads they have a huge juicy thread, easy to get lost down the worm hole!

  13. Seraphina says:

This entire story is LOCO. I just want to say, I LOVE that last pic of them. It’s the icing on the cake when reading the train wreck that keeps on wrecking.

  14. Sarah says:

“Juan Hancock” took me out! Goes well with her Spanish-themed children.

  15. Jaded says:

He’ll keep defending her and blasting everyone who says he’s being taken for a ride until las vacas vuelvan a la casa. She has him wrapped around her pretty little dedito and she’ll pump out another couple of babies so he can continue feeling muy macho.

  16. Amelie says:

LOL at the Juan Hancock, stroke of creative brilliance there.

I don’t really have any sympathy for anyone in this story though. I don’t care about Hilaria so I could care less she got sued but this entire lawsuit just seems so unnecessary. I am not familiar with the layout of the Yoga Vida studio but I know my sister is as she did her yoga teacher training there (years after Hilaria was no longer associated with the studio so she never met her). I have experience doing yoga in many NYC studios though and often times you are on top of each other as there isn’t a whole lot of space. What kind of handstand was this guy doing that he went through a window?? Was he using the window as support instead of an actual wall? I just really don’t understand how this could even happen, regardless of the windows being up to code. Unless the guy was pushed, it was his own fault for losing his balance and falling through the window. In yoga, you know your limits and you decide how hard to push your body and this guy had a bad accident because of his own actions. The window didn’t attack him.

    • Mindy_Dopple says:

Right, it would have been his own fault and the injuries could have been far less severe IF THE WINDOW WAS UP TO CODE. Accidents happen, a business owner has guidelines to follow in order to protect their liability. In this case, an accident happened, due to the window being not up to code, the injuries were severe. THAT is on the business owner. Had the window had break away glass this lawsuit could have been dismissed because the business owner did EVERYTHING in their power and right to ensure a safe space.

      • lucy2 says:

        Exactly.
I would assume the place was renovated into the yoga studio, and therefore any glass should have been to code. That’s ultimately their responsibility, though I’d imagine the designer and contractor were brought into the lawsuit too.
In houses, we have to put tempered glass at windows in stairwells, in case someone falls into them, for this very reason.
If the guy was goofing around in the lobby or something, maybe it’d be on him, but if he were following the class in the approved space, nope.

  17. Turtle says:

There is no way that Alec didn’t know that he was marrying a Boston girl.
There is no way that Alec didn’t know that she wasn’t from Spain.

I think that this is a woman who probably has a personality disorder but is ambitious and kind and goes for what she wants and everyone around her overlooks her little eccentricities.

  18. Cor says:

The thing that gets me is that Mallorca is such a tourist destination, the island is filled with German and English tourists. It would be like claiming I went to Oahu and was so immersed in Hawaiian culture that I decided to become Hawaiian.

  19. Ferdinand says:

Can we please stop paying attention to her?
Yes what he did is probably wrong. But I don’t see much harm done. Tbh, the ones making a fuzz out of it are Republicans only cause she is married to the actor mocking Trump and I don’t want to give them anymore attention than it is necessary.

Farewell Republicans, may the door hit you hard on your way out.

    • Sarah says:

You can go back to the threads from last week abbot why this is harmful and why is actually a big deal. It’s not because of “Republicans”

      • w says:

Agree completely. It’s sad that some are completely glossing over the enslavement, deaths & other horrible atrocities that happened under colonialism, including (though not limited to) in Latin America & Asia, including China. And how after some died sadly & unpleasantly under colonialism, then their families underwent enormous suffering then sought a better life for their kids. They sacrificed to an extreme & underwent discrimination as immigrants. Many are still ignorant about these atrocities under colonialism in these areas of the world since many high school courses do not teach about these area, & are ignorant about the rest.

Then white people like these two (no offense intended regarding white people) enlist ethnic minorities to appear in & in connection with completely untrue, harmful, stereotypical portrayals of such people.

So one doesn’t even try to answer the why behind a name change or why they never knew family members everyone else has close relationships with. If one tries, they are just met with more stereotypes that are cemented in others minds about you.

Many don’t know the British deliberately sold opium to China to force it to trade with it in order to benefit itself, Britain. China had been self-sufficient, The Chinese did not know opium was bad for them though Britain did & deliberately did this so that the Chinese would become addicted & died. Britain used this resulting chaos to take advantage of China, leading to poverty, chaos & less stability there. If you try to tell that even to a nice person, they just hear “drug” & think of all the stereotypes about Asian gangs, prostitutes & drug dealers & say that your family are drug deals though it is the opposite. The British government & royal family were acting like the drug dealers. Everyone seems to forget that the British government & royal family attacked & beat Gandhi & his fellow protesters. It was only the media attention of peaceful resistance & seeing them beaten mercilessly over & over that caused the U.S. government to pressure the British government to stop.

Also, some minorities died suddenly due to unnatural causes & sometimes racism was some of the cause with regard to the acts that unnaturally prematurely ended their lives.

All of this then a lifetime of exoticized stereotypes as well as harmful stereotypes & arguments about affirmative action (not all minorities benefit & I’m not saying I’m against that) as well as perceptions about affirmative action.

Then these two just go taking jobs & opportunities from other ethnic minority females & spreading these ignorant, untrue, harmful stereotypes. They use all the elite access they have to do this while no one can actually get out the truth about ourselves.

    • Maria says:

“Can we please stop paying attention to her?” Absolutely not, aside from how harmful all this actually is, watching it crumble is the most entertainment I’ve had in months.

I would like to point out that there’s an actress named Bitsie Tulloch who actually has Spanish & Mexican ancestry in her mix, is fluent in Spanish (which was written into her character on Grimm) and actually spend significant time during her childhood living in Spain, Argentina & Uruguay and yet she doesn’t speak English w/a Spanish accent & doesn’t try to pass herself off the way Baldwin has . . .

    • Tiffany says:

Bitsie comes from a super wealthy family and that level of income she didn’t have to play that game.

  23. Tiffany says:

You mean the woman who was caught tweeting doing James Gandolfini’s funeral is a narcissist.

    Nooooooooooo……..
