Back in June 2020, Kim Kardashian made a big business deal. She sold 20% of her KKW Beauty line to Coty for $200 million. Meaning, Kim’s KKW Beauty is worth – on paper – a billion dollars. And KKW Beauty isn’t even Kim’s best product – her best product is SKIMS, her shapewear line. KKW Beauty is just Kim trying to copy Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics business. Anyway, this week the Coty deal was finalized and Kim now has $200 million in the bank to grow her businesses and to continue living a separate life from her husband, the “W” in KKW. The Daily Mirror reported this week that Kim and Kanye have barely seen each other in the past three months and their separate lives are quite starkly different – Kanye barely sees the kids, he spends all of his time with his team in Wyoming, and Kim raises the kids in LA. Then this story hit:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are over. Multiple sources tell Page Six that “divorce is imminent” for the Hollywood couple, with Kardashian hiring divorce attorney to the stars, Laura Wasser.
“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” says a source. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.”
Kim, 40, hasn’t been seen wearing her wedding ring, and Kanye, 43, remained at his $14 million Wyoming ranch over the holidays instead of spending it with the Kardashian klan, who drew criticism for their extravagant celebrations.
“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” the source continued. The source added that while Kim has done much in the past to protect and help Kanye deal with his mental health struggles, “Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot. She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Meanwhile, a separate source says Kanye, who became increasingly uncomfortable and irritated by the Kardashians’ over-the-top reality star lives, “Is completely over the entire family … He wants nothing to do with them,” adding he eventually found their reality show “unbearable.”
Kanye reluctantly showed up for Kim’s ridiculously extravagant $1 million-plus 40th birthday in Tahiti last October for just one day. “He showed up late and left early, he wouldn’t appear in any of their Instagram shots. All he did was bring over the hologram of her father Robert Kardashian, then got out of there as fast as he could,” the source added.
The source said the biggest sticking point in the Kimye divorce settlement talks could be over their Calabasas, California, family home, which underwent a total redesign masterminded by Kanye and was heralded by Architectural Digest as “an oasis of purity and light.” The source said, “Kim is trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her, because that’s where the kids are based and growing up. That is their home. She owns all the land and adjoining lots around the house but Kanye owns the actual house. They’ve both put a lot of money into renovating it.”
The source added of the advanced settlement talks, “This isn’t the first time they’ve been talking about a split, but this time it is way, way more serious.” Another source confirmed to us that divorce settlement talks were underway, but they were not yet at the point of deciding how their properties would be divided.
I’ve been saying that a divorce would happen for the better part of the past year. They were living separate lives back in March/April of 2020, and then Kanye had that profoundly bad manic episode which went on for months, and Kim just tapped out of the marriage. To be fair, it sounded like Kanye was totally over it too. So, yes, I believe that their lawyers are already putting something together. And obviously, Kim should just buy the Calabasas home from Kanye.

Honestly? I think the kids will be better off without him around. I have an emotionally and physically absent father and my parents divorced when I was 6. It was the best decision for us because my very stable and loving mother raised us on her own. That was a lot healthier for us!

I’m surprised at how many people I’ve seen who seem surprised by this news considering she’s been testing these waters for months.
Let’s face it – she’s gotten every ounce of useful publicity out of this alliance that she can and he’s simply no longer paying dividends. Not to mention, her connection to the White House is pretty much severed now that his buddy is on the way out, so he isn’t even useful that way to her either. Not to mention, she needs to distract everyone from the memories of the all the tone deaf covidiot bullshit she pulled on her birthday and during the holidays.
This was timed to coincide with their new deal at Hulu – she gets to dump her husband and they have a ready made story line about her being a plucky single mother struggling to raise four kids by herself. And I’ll believe she’s still serious about going for the state bar when I see more evidence than professionally taken photographs of her looking at a law book with a highlighter in her hand.
Honestly, the only really interesting aspect of this is to see if Kanye spills any tea on this grifter family.

As problematic as KKW is, I do have a lot of empathy for her in this situation. Dealing with a loved one with mental illness (especially one who is enabled by his insane wealth and hangers on) is incredibly challenging.
Wasn’t she and her family among those enablers though?? Remember how his friends waited for her to get on a flight to have him 5150’d? She wasn’t clued in until she landed and he had already been institutionalized. Sounded like his friends knew they needed to go around his enabler. And temember when she publicly compared him on meds to the trance in the movie Get Out? He wasn’t adhering to medical advice and she was out here saying he was better for it. She’s either evil or an idiot, either way an enabler.

He’s the one drawing the line in the sand due to his religious beliefs though. I do agree Kim is very machiavellian. Were he still an asset, Kim would cover up and vaguely support the social conservatism. But he’s work is done, he gave her clout in circles she was interested in back then and now she’ll be looking for someone to legitimise her in political circles. I guarantee you KK is going to run for some type of office some day. Please, nobody introduce her to Corey Booker.

My first thought also was that Kanye must not be useful to Kim anymore. She has a pattern of tossing husbands aside once she has obtained whatever benefit they provide. She raced to dump #2 in a couple of months once she realized Kanye was single again, and Kanye could open doors for her. #2 was just a placeholder until something better came along, so she wouldn’t turn 30 as an unmarried woman.

I bet that the house is a sticking point for Kanye. In that AD article it was clear that he spent years renovating, designing, and picking out artwork for it very specific to his minamilist monastery vision. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a hard time giving it to Kim for any amount of money. One would hope that he would do it so that the kids are not forced to move, but he doesn’t strike me as the type of father to put the kids’ needs first (I hope that I am wrong though).

I have no sympathy for Lamar, Kanye, Tristan, Tyga or Travis. They knowingly attached to white women whose entire existence is devoted to reaping the benefit of black features and culture without any of the struggle that comes with actually being black. Kanye is especially egregious, he had lyrics contrasting this woman against Gabby Sidibe as if Gabby isn’t a queen who overcame every racist and fattist obstacle without having to alter her body one bit. My sympathy for Lamar comes from the fact that this family decided to kick him when he was in one of the worst places he could be – deep in drug addiction. I don’t have to like him as a person to see what they did to him was not cool, all because they felt like he embarrassed them by cheating. It’s not about Lamar’s likability, it’s about the family’s ethics. And I don’t have to like Kanye to hope that he’s able to drag them with him.
Unfortunately if he drags them all down, his kids will suffer for it. They are a part of the Kardashian family and are a lot closer to that side anyway because Kanye is hardly around. But we all know Kanye is Kanye and probably will talk trash about the mother of his children because he’s straight up a POS.

Then years later they all decended into las vegas with cameras in tow,again at his most vulnarable moment. Forgive my ignorance, but what did they do to Lamar? I don’t follow the Kardashians religiously but I remember Khloe being supportive and there for him when he OD’d and was comatose.Genuinely asking, not trying to be argumentative.
My memory is dim, but the trigger for his drug binge weekend seemed to be despair over something they were doing in their show without his consent that involved him or how they were spinning the storyline.
Khloe stayed tightly bound 24/7 to Lamar’s bedside when he was critically ill from the drugs, but although I’m sure she cared about him in a somewhat muddled way, my suspicion was that she was actually afraid to leave him alone with anyone else for fear that he would spill Kardashian secrets. She refused to allow his kids or his kids’ mom or his good friends to stay with him to give her some respite and was making it difficult for even brief visits. She was obsessed with being there all the time.
When she had to leave briefly, she dragged her blood relatives into babysitting him in the hospital even when they weren’t happy about it. Her behavior was way too strange. I doubt that she was just so overcome with loyalty or fear that he would die – she was afraid of something non-medical that involved her and possibly her family.
Khloe seemed to relax only when it became apparent that his memory was fuzzy and he couldn’t talk much in the hospital but he appreciated her presence.
My suspicion is that one important secret involved Khloe’s drug use and her affairs while they were married (in other words, I think both were cheaters and drug users, contrary to the Kardashian storyline). He did regain his memory later, and when he was really frustrated by the way the Kardashians were setting him up for the show as the bad guy (using Khloe to lure him into the scene on phone calls and in-person meetings), he did say something about telling secrets if they didn’t leave him alone.
Regardless of Kim being a privileged ahole I have to applaud her for how she has dealt with Kanye’s episodes through the years. I hope they can keep a good relationship for their children’s sake and that Kanye makes an effort to see all his children.

I can’t believe I am saying that but I understand and feel for her after what happened the past months. There is no way that I am staying with someone who refuses to take his meds. He is stubborn and irresponsible and I don’t blame her if she decides to file for divorce.

This is probably the best decision for them, as Kim can finally cut the cord on the 5th child-husband. Kanye has been wreaking havoc in their family for years – he is a terrible husband and seems like a sub-par father who hides out in Wyoming thinking of unhinged ways he can unleash his “genius” into the world for most of the year. Kim and the kids have been emotionally abused by this man enough.

For bipolar people, thinking of oneself as a god-like genius figure can happen in manic episodes. So he’s acting that way not because he’s an a**hole but because of his mental illness.
I don’t think his mental illness is entirely to blame for the way he acts. Yes, he has had manic episodes but even when he’s not in the throes of one, he still acts like a raging narcissist who’s only care in the world is himself.
This feels like good news for her and her kids. She’s really tried over the years and I’m sorry for anyone trying to manage a loved one’s mental illness. She has to do what’s right for her and the children, and being attached to him isn’t that.

There is a genetic component for bi-polar disorders. With 4 kids, chances are that at least one will have mental health issues.
There are four kids in my family and great news! We each inherited something different: depression, anxiety, OCD for two of us, ADHD for two of us, and asbergers. Theres also the behavioral side of it where being raised by parents with mental health issues *created* mental health issues even if they weren’t genetically pre-disposed (my eating disorder). This is a big reason why me and my husband aren’t having kids.

No one should be surprised about this divorce btw. He has seemed mentally unstable and off his medications. I had a friend who went off of her bi polar medicine and she became verbally abusive and downright cruel. I had to end our friendship because she kept emotionally hurting me. She had a string of friends come and go which should have been a red flag as well. If he was anything like my friend, I am surprised Kim didn’t leave sooner for the children’s sake. But since they live separate lives, I doubt he saw the kids much or Kim for that matter anyways.

As a person who has dealt with family members and a husband with bipolar disorder it is beyond hard at times. It’s very draining. Your emotions are all over the place while trying to remain helpful and calm. I feel deeply deeply sorry for them. With the right help they could survive these moments. I hope they find the peace they are looking for.
