Blake Shelton wants to lose at least 10 pounds before his wedding to Gwen Stefani

I am gaining weight. I hate it. I haven’t been to the gym in two months because I’m scared of being indoors with maskless people as the coronavirus infection rates spike all around the country. So I walk and hike and just leave it at that. But yeah, I’ve gained weight. I can feel it on my body and I hate it. I’m trying to take the long view and I think about how grateful I am that I didn’t have the virus (or at least, I was never symptomatic if I did have it) and how grateful I am that I survived the Trump years. The past four years have been full of so much trauma and if the worst thing that happened to me is that I’ve gained 15-20 pounds, so be it. I also take solace in the fact that I’m not alone, that many people have been gaining weight as their diets go to hell and their workout schedules are destroyed. So it is for Blake Shelton, who wants to lose 10 pounds before he marries Gwen Stefani.

Blake Shelton is ready to get serious about his wedding look! The 44-year-old singer popped the question in October to his longtime love, Gwen Stefani. The “Minimum Wage” singer recently appeared on the Apple Music radio show Party Barn Radio With Luke Bryan where he opened up to his pal about his desire to shed weight ahead of his wedding day to Stefani, 51.

“Scale of 1 to 10, Blake Shelton, [will you] you lose 20 pounds for your wedding?” Bryan asked his pal.

“I feel like if I say 10 I have to do it, so 10,” Shelton replied. “It’s out there now so I can’t let people down.”

About his quarantine weight gain, Shelton admitted that his new look isn’t making him feel great. “I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house so they look like when you’re taking a selfie from up above because I can’t even stand to look at myself in the mirror,” he quipped. “So I’ve rearranged them where they’re kind of angled down looking down at me and it’s not so bad.”

And while he’s not so confident about his look, Shelton does seem self-assured that Stefani will make it down the aisle to be his bride. “I’m going with a 10, buddy. I’ve got confidence,” he insisted when asked whether Stefani would go through with the wedding.

Shelton also said that he’d been dodging Bryan’s texts because of Stefani’s adherence to COVID-19 safety procedures. “She’s very strong about this quarantine thing, which is great… She’s the only person I get to see so, that’s it. No buddy hanging out time,” Shelton said. “When you’re a prideful, stubborn guy like myself for me to text you back and say, ‘Man, Gwen won’t let me go.’ That’s tough. It’s embarrassing.”

“I can’t even stand to look at myself in the mirror.” I feel that. I’ve gained weight in my face! That’s where it goes – my face, my ass, my thighs and my stomach. And I hate it all. I bet Blake gains it all in his midsection and face too. Still, it will be easier for him to lose weight because he’s a dude and it’s always easier for dudes to lose weight. As for the other stuff… Blake is kind of douche, blaming Gwen for… adhering to social distancing protocols and sh-t. It’s 2021, why are men still doing the “my old ball and chain said I can’t hang out with my bros, what a witch” thing?

I”m not understanding why people are still in denial about the virus.

  2. Chaine says:

IMO he IS a “loser,” so maybe it’ll be easier for him to drop the weight.

I gained 12 pounds early in the lockdown – I was baking bread, exercising less, eating comfort food. Then I joined Weight Watchers (going to meetings via Zoom) and lost it. Easier to stick to the plan because I’m not having drinks with friends and eating out. Still a struggle to maintain, though. And Blake, meh. But what really disappoints me is how Gwen has transformed into a Stepford barbie. I used to like her back in the day.

Meh, I think he was joking about the whole “my gf is strict on protocols” – I.e. he doesn’t seem to mind. My husband is like that – he’s glad I’m around to keep him in check because if it was up to him, he’d probably risk more. Not that he doubts the virus, he’s just less risk averse. But he does not complain at all when we wipe down groceries, or mask up the kids at the park. Anyway, I think they are happy so good for them.

On a different note, I too have gained weight and hate it. But I’m starting to lose a bit now, so hopefully I can keep it up and be back to my previous weight by spring.

Yeah it was a podcast with Luke Bryan thats kind how they talk to each other .Luke and wife do prankfest over Christmas ,exploding eggs included and their sons wasn’t talking to her when they went out hunting and she was making too much noise on purpose – they also have a pet turkey (called Owl but its a physcho) and it clawed her leg and damaged the tendons .Him and Blake both have weird animals on their farms – Blake has Wildebeasts and Bryan has Kangeroos

It might be a joke. If it is I imagine it’s still a reflection of how he really feels or at the very least acts with his friends because that’s what ‘guys’ do right? Woman just nag and we put up with them, blah blah blah. Let’s just keep those sexist stereotypes rolling because they obviously do no harm at all (sarcasm).

I’m not even going to start on the implication that he would be meeting with his buddies if ‘the wife’ would let him, again, even if that’s a joke it’s appalling messaging from someone with a large fan base at a time when there is such a need for encouragement to do the right thing from anyone that one other person will listen to.

I have gained 25 pounds during the lockdown. I had two choices lose weight or buy new clothes. I invested in a knock off maxi climber on amazon and found a bunch of old Taebo workouts, as well as a really great Crunch high-intensity kickboxing, work out on YouTube. I also invested in a scale that reads BMI, Bone density, BMR , Etc. So I’m not just focused on the number of pounds,
I am down 13 pounds since January second. I’m still paying for Planet fitness because they refuse to pause my membership again ( they did it back in August for 3 months and they cant extend it again) but I’m not comfortable going back to the gym just yet.

I’ve also gained 25 pounds. I started a strict diet 3 weeks ago, and have lost…3 ounces. I keep starting the day with resolve, but in the evening, I want to eat anything that’s not nailed down. I really miss swimming at the YMCA, and I hate the cold. But your post made me see that I DO have some old exercise shows, & I have an online yoga subscription I’ve literally never opened yet. You are inspiring me to get more active today!! Congrats on being halfway to your goal..

      Wow, that’s great!

You think he’s using that as an excuse to delay the wedding? That’s the first thing that popped in my head

On the other side of this pandemic experience, I had covid pretty recently and was sick for six weeks. I’m still not hungry and having trouble keeping myself nourished. I’ve lost about 15 pounds (and was petite to begin with) and it’s only in my legs somehow so I look like an egg on toothpicks 😑 it seems to be bad on all sides here.

    • MyOpinion says:

@ The Lady, I am so sorry. That sucks that you had it. I hope you are better within the year. Due to what it does to your body, I know that it takes a giant toll on it. Be kind to your body and remember that time will help you heal!

    • april says:

I’m sorry too that you suffered with the virus. Get well soon!

    • Nikki* says:

That sounds super rough. I hope you soon feel strong and regain your appetite. Best wishes!

  9. Reindeer says:

Y’all. Try to be kinder to yourselves. It’s ok to gain weight.

  10. Amando says:

If he cut out drinking, he’d probably lose the weight quickly. Just saying… this guy is no prize Gwen.
