My working theory on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is that she’s been done with him and their marriage for the better part of a year, probably longer. She’s thought long and hard about the best way to detach herself from him and her solution is playing out in front of us. I have no doubt that Kim and her team leaked the first stories about the separation and impending divorce as a way to force the moment to its crisis. I also have no doubt that Kim wants Kanye to be the one to file for divorce, that she doesn’t want to get hit with the charge of “abandoning a mentally ill man.” So that’s where we are. Kanye has apparently moved a lot of stuff out of the Calabasas home they bought together, including 500 pairs of sneakers. Kim went on a girls’ trip to Turks & Caicos to give Kanye the chance to move his sh-t out, and so that’s what he’s been doing this week while she was out of the country. Kim’s sources also told People Mag that at this point, Kim and Ye have no contact:
Kim Kardashian may legally still be married to Kanye West, but she’s already begun living her life on her own. A source tells PEOPLE that the couple, who married in 2014, now have minimal communication as they continue to move toward an official split.
“Kim and Kanye continue to live separate lives,” says the source. “They have no contact.”
After stopping marriage counseling with West last month, the source says Kardashian doesn’t seem bothered by the idea of raising their four children — daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, who turns 2 in May — on her own.
“Kim stays focused on the kids and work. She is very busy and seems happy,” says the source. When it comes to officially ending her marriage, the source says “she has a divorce plan in place and will file when she is ready.”
The source further adds that “her issues with Kanye are a big part of the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which premieres March 18, and that she will likely “file for divorce when the season has aired.”
Yeah, I still feel like she’s waiting for Kanye to file first. The whole “she’ll file when the season airs” feels like an ultimatum to Kanye: file before me, or I will be the on to leave and you won’t like that. E! News’ sources make it sound like Kanye might actually do it too:

The insider exclusively tells E! News Kim and Kanye have “are completely done and no longer speaking.” At this point, the source says, “She is trying to stay strong and move on with her life.”
Though many people are aware of Kim and Kanye’s rocky relationship status, the insider explains that Kim has yet to initiate formal proceedings because she “is still working out the logistics of announcing the divorce.” Nonetheless, the insider says their separation is “completely official in her mind.”
Likewise, a second source shares, “Kanye is also completely done with the marriage and is moving on. He doesn’t care what Kim’s priorities are with holding off on a divorce announcement,” the second source explains. “He will file before she’s ready if he has to. He wants the divorce just as much as Kim does.”
If Kanye ends up filing for divorce in the next month or so, I think Kim will have played this perfectly. I know y’all won’t give her credit for anything, but she’s been really smart about this very narrow issue of how to leave him and how to minimize the public criticism of her actions. In my mind, she’s done the best she could to help Kanye and take care of him when he is manic, and she’s really tired of the fact that he doesn’t *want* to be a full partner in their marriage, or a full partner in raising their children. It is what it is.

He was never a full partner in the marriage or with the children. When they divorce Kim’s life will not change at all. This is just a formal announcement to what was already happening for years.
On the contrary, she stayed wayyyyyyyyy longer than I ever would. I also think she is very bright.
Same. I don’t love Kim K but i do admire her in some ways. She could have just coasted on a trust fund from dad but she has built something bigger than the privilege she was born with – that isn’t erasing the fact that she had multiple connections and money to begin with.
I would not want to be married to a mentally ill man who doesn’t want to stick to his meds. She will be better off without him.

So he moved out? I thought she would have left that house with pure joy,it looks terrible ,we once saw Norths room that had a little colour but it still looked so white and lifeless.
That house reminds me of the mausoleum in “Phantasm.” I keep expecting the creepy funeral director to peer around the corner of each shot.

She is 100% trying to get him to file first – she has to control the narrative at all costs in order to ensure they’re going into the final season of KUWTK and the beginning of the new Hulu series with the “long suffering single mom just trying to get by while pursuing social justice” story line is firmly in place.
Kanye’s illness has finally stopped paying off for their grifter empire and now they just want to scrape out the last bits of marrow.
They’ve lived separate lives the entire time.

Is there any kind of legal motivation for her to want him to file first? Will that help her in divorce proceedings or something? Or is this just about the narrative/PR aspect? No judgment, just curious. I’m so happy for her to move on from him.
No real legal reason. My ex filed first as did my daughter’s soon to be ex. Think it is more how it looks for Kim – she’s not the bad guy – than anything else.
The only thing I can think of is that if she doesn’t want him to be able to say that he signed any agreements while undergoing a mental health crisis. So she wanted to wait until he was more stable, but she’s only willing to wait so long.
People keep saying he doesn’t want to be an active partner, but he never did. He was absent when they were dating, when she was pregnant with the first, when they were engaged. He started out absent and choices were made.
Was this the real reason she was studying law? LOOL I am just kidding but hmmm I just hope the kids can come out of this okay.

I know she’s been checked out and they’ve had very little to do with each other for some time but they are still married, she wears his ‘designs’ etc. but she has been his dressing up doll throughout their relationship and I’m curious as to where she goes from here.
She wore a pair of his ridiculously hideous dinosaur-skull looking sneakers with a bikini in pix she staged in Turks & Caicos. So I guess he didn’t get to put that pair in the U Haul with all of the rest of them when he moved out in her absence.
Kim usually morphs into whatever man she is dating. She doesn’t seem to have an actual style of her own.
I don’t blame her one bit. Kanye is not taking care of himself; he refuses to take his medication; he publicly says hurtful things about Kim and her family; and he runs away to hang with his guys instead of trying to work things out.
I have bipolar disorder and I am religious about taking my meds. I have little sympathy for people who’ve been correctly diagnosed and given a treatment plan but then choose to completely ignore it. You’re a grown-ass human…take responsibility for yourself!
Not to mention that bipolar disorder gets worse the longer you go without treating it. Each episode damages your brain a little bit and makes it more likely that you’ll have worse episodes with less “baseline” time in between.
I loved Kanye and hate to see him do this to himself. And I’ve always liked Kim and think she’s a sharp lady. I feel for her, being in this situation, and I’m glad she’s finally getting out.
This divorce was a forgone conclusion from the day they married. Now that she and her family have built their fortunes on his back, she is discarding him and will move on to some other luckless rich man.
I wish men were shamed more for not wanting to be a full partner in raising their own children. The burden then falls to the other partner (usually a woman) by default, and most of us don’t have the resources to shift the burden onto other caregivers. It’s a bad deal, and IMO more men should be shamed for not doing their part.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have a written agreement that she would get custody of the kids, and he would just leave. Anything for her to to continue to milk it and keep all the attention on herself. These two famefockers had this relationship all planned out. It was scripted just like her TV show. It was as fake as her face and body.
So this narrative has played itself out, and now KK will milk it for all it’s worth. Personally, I think this was a BS relationship from the get. They were together for all the wrong reasons.
Didn’t she just post a pic on social media wearing a pair of his ugly shoes? She isn’t going anywhere. This is all to drum up publicity for their “final” season.
Yeah I mean why post a pic wearing his shoes? She’s so damn thirsty. Not only are they trying to get huge ratings for the final season of their show, they want those huge numbers to follow them to their new show(s) on HULU.
