I don’t even remember Andra Day making that much of an impact on the Oscar red carpet and I have no idea why? Maybe I just missed the fashion people on E!’s Red Carpet show talking about her, I guess. Andra really did try to serve a look and, in my opinion, it didn’t work out. I’m glad she tried and I’m glad she had some fun. This Vera Wang dress is actually preferable to me than if Andra had done some boring princess dress. At least she was trying to do something cool. I feel the same way about this Vera Wang that I felt about Zendaya’s Valentino – it would have been a better party dress, something for the Vanity Fair Oscar party, as opposed to the actual Oscars. And much like Zendaya’s look, I found the combination of flimsy-material and faux-bandeau top to be a bad combination. On the plus side, Andra has an incredible figure and she would be able to wear just about anything.
Lakeith Stanfield attended the Oscars in the London hub from the look of it. He wore Saint Laurent and was one of the best-dressed men, honestly.
Marlee Matlin in Vivienne Westwood. Marlee is a queen! And this Westwood makes her look so witchy and fabulous. In still photos, it looks a bit costume-y, but in motion, it was quite good.

I love LaKeith but I disagree on that outfit being good at all. He looks good. I like his hair. When I saw the pic at first, it was just on the top, and I was thinking, oh, he will look really good! But that ended up being a scroll down surprise, for sure. I know fashion people like it, and it’s hard for dudes to have any sort of variety, but there’s something about one-piece things like this. Although I guess because he is a dude and there is a shirt, it’s not like he has to take everything off to go to the bathroom. I guess that’s where my dislike of onesies comes from
I’m a huge fan of Andra and she looked gorgeous. So disappointed in her Oscars fashion. Why did they do that to her? (Or she to herself?) It looked OK in movement but in these photos, to me it looks cheap.
It’s very unsuitable for the occasion. She looks like she’s going to a club… or MTV awards maybe. Beautiful woman with a great body but she didn’t need to have her ass hanging out, a the Oscar ceremony it looks cheap.
I have to agree here. I don’t know why such a beautiful woman is wearing such a cheap looking dress. She’s too good for that dress. She’s classy but that dress is not.

Marlee Marlin looks fabulous and the dress is a winner!! As for Andra, Carey and Zendeya, those looks are bad, not a little bad but very bad. The material, cuts and design features missed the mark for the red carpet as opposed to an Oscar after party.
OMG, and Lakeith Stanfields looks incredibly sexy and well fitted on him. He is smoldering with his eyes and his clothing.

Marlee is absolutely ageless but I disagree about the dress. I think it overwhelms her a little and I wish it were a lighter color and design. It does fit well, but it’s kinda dreary in my opinion.

Swimsuit/dress.
That’s exactly what I thought. Looks like she’s wearing a swimsuit. I love the top without the cutout, with a flowy goddess bottom it would have been amazing.
Both Andra’s and Lakeith’s looks seem better suited for the Grammys or an Oscar’s after-party. They’re great, but style-wise a little off for the Oscars.

I liked the dress on Marlee, it didn’t wear her – she wore IT. I do agree it’s a little dreary as to color. Looked better in movement/on TV. Saw her on Kelly Clarkson last week. She’s amazing.
Andra said she wore it bc Billie loved lingerie so kind of like a tribute to her, so for that reason I liked the dress I think she looks good in anything tho lol her hair was amaze

Lakeith looks good, I really do not like Andra’s dress. Reminds me of something you might wear to a NYE party in 1999 purchased at one of those trashy mall shops.
Whenever a woman at the Oscars tries to wear something see-through or that has a lot of cutouts at the Oscars, I always feel like they confused the show with the VMAs or the Grammys. It it just me or do the Oscars have the reputation of being more conservative and more glam than those awards shows? I always find those to be more casual. Her dress would have been fine for an after-party had there been any (I’m guessing no) but here it’s just off for the event.
My thoughts exactly. Oscars are a gown kinda party, you can go all out but not in the sense that your butt is showing… more like Carey Mulligan. Wear a ridiculous dress but keep it classy
I feel the same. I think Andra got some really bad advise. But that happens at the first few award shows then most people figure out thier style. The Oscars should be classy IMHO.

Audra Day looked awesome — she came to slay and she did. It’s a tricky look to wear — she elevates it. On someone else, like a Kardashian, it would have looked cheap.
Love what Lakeith and Marilee (the sleeves channeling a Stevie Nicks ’70s vibe) wore too.
The design of Andra’s dress seems incredibly lazy to me. The draping doesn’t suit her body at all, the proportions are strange, and the styling doesn’t give it anything special. It looks like it was made for a much shorter woman.
I have to wonder if people like the dress itself or if she’s getting a pass on the haphazard nature of it all because she has a gorgeous, fit body that meets the beauty standard.

Andra’s fashion choice just doesn’t fit with my expectations for an Oscar worthy dress. It looks good on her but a little cheap looking. I actually even like the cut and drape of the dress but hate the fabric especially the sheer part. Something heavier would have been better. Sorry I feel like such a snob but its the truth.
