Billie’s new look & floaty sound is super beautiful & the blingy guitars are kinda taking me back to the late 90s, Cowboy Junkies or something.
There should be a trigger warning for snake-phobics on that thing tho 😉

  2. TigerMcQueen says:

Billie’s look is different and gorgeous, but the sound isn’t to me. I’m just not a fan of her whisper/singing.

    • Tulipworthy says:

Whisper singing describes her style perfectly.

      Not a fan of it.

      • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

        Same here.

Also, she looks totally depressed/sad in her cover pic, a complete contradiction to the title of the CD. She looks like she just had a good cry.

    • Veronika says:

I agree with both of you. While I appreciate that she does her own thing in the pop music world it’s just a sound/style that I’m not used to. I grew up hearing female pop singers with pipes like Whitney, Mariah, Christina Aguilera & Beyonce. And then came Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Lady Gaga, etc.
I don’t think every female pop vocalist needs to have that “belting” voice, but Billie’s voice is just so far in the other direction. How would she handle touring singing in that style?
Does anyone know why she sings like that, rather than in a lower & more comfortable register?
The whispered falsetto thing sounds like it could eventually strain her voice. I’m not a professional in that area though, so correct me if needed.

      • Lucy2 says:

I love big belting pop singers, but I also really like Billie’s music. I like the new song a lot, but don’t see it is that different from her previous stuff. Her look is definitely a change though.

    • HeatherC says:

I’m a hard rocker/metal head, so this isn’t my sound at all. Good for her for doing her own thing though!

    • Tiffany :) says:

Yes, her sound hasn’t changed IMO. It all sounds the same, her vocals never change.

      • Cat C says:

@Tiffany I completely agree. I literally bounced between the related singles & her old album trying to see if the titles were already there. They sound the same. That said, my kid will still love it. Smh

  3. Lauren says:

She looks a lot like Gaga with blond hair.

  4. serena says:

I don’t know, she is very beautiful (always was) but looks like 50 others celebrities with this look. Meh. I feel like the vibe and sound are kinda the same/or at least very similar / as they were before though?

  5. Normades says:

Love the Keifer and Jason Patrick Story. Also had no idea Jason had such famous family members!

    • ItReallyIsYouNotMe says:

I really enjoyed the article too and what stuck out to me is that they did not take the opportunity to talk about Julia Roberts because she was not in the room. Imagine if Justin Timberlake had taken the same tactic about Britney Spears. Way to keep it classy although presumably none of these people is seeking the media and PR attention that Justin Timberlake needed to promote himself at that time which I think is a huge reason why he talk Ed about something he should not have talked about but these days is so private about his life.

    • Sid says:

As a childhood and still now lover of The Lost Boys movie, I liked the story too.

ItReallyIs, ITA about them keeping it cute with regard to Roberts.

    • tempest prognosticator says:

I love vintage gossip! More, please.

      • Imara219 says:

I always wondered why she ran off with Patrick, what made them do it? So much more of this gossip is juicy and we have only scratched the surface.

  6. Zapp Brannigan says:

The Daily Mail (I know) have the Josh Duggar charges, downloading and possession, some of the images were kids under twelve years old.

  7. Merricat says:

I love Billie. I love watching her grow.

  8. Tracy says:

I kind of hate everything about Billie’s whole new vibe. Someone above me mentioned whisper singing and it grates for me. I liked that she was odd before and seemed to own it. This looks like she got Stepford wifed.

  9. SpankyB says:

I laughed so hard when Kathleen Turner turned up as the ex-wife last season. My first thought was “I guess they survived The War of the Roses” (great movie) .

  10. Debra Horn says:

I love Billie. But once I saw the snake…I just had to stop watching.

  11. Promising resources!! Thank you!

  12. Keepyourheart says:

Billie Eilish has asthma. I also have asthma and as someone with that condition you will likely have limitation in breath when it comes to singing – at least I do have the problem.

I admire people like Bey or Mariah who are clearly talented and can belt out like no other. But as someone with limited range and breath (talking about myself here) it is so good to see someone like Billie be successful because that really gives hope to alot of people like me who might be able to sing but do not have the „power“ in their voice like other singers. You just have to turn us alot louder 😉

Btw there are tour videos of her and she seems perfectly capable to also do that with her condition without loosing her voice. That is nice to see, too.

    • SomeChick says:

I did not know that. thank you for sharing. I think Billie has a beautiful voice. she is also very young. I look forward to seeing her grow in her artistic career.

  13. Ms. says:

“I took Ellen to the premiere and I was ushered out by security before the movie even ended and was told I was not allowed to go to my own after party for fear they would get pictures of me with a woman… she was warning me, ‘This is going to happen.’

“I was in a relationship with Ellen DeGeneres for three-and-a-half years and the stigma attached to that relationship was so bad that I was fired from my multi-million-dollar picture deal and I did not work in a studio picture for 10 years.”

I think that’s the big takeaway from the Anne Heche interview. Yeah, Ellen sucks, but it is so awful she was treated that way.

    • Elle says:

Anne was branded the crazy one. She was just another person with no power or actual agency. Her mental health was hold against her.Her brain rebelling to injustice became their weapon.

  14. Londonlook says:

She is growing up – in the public eye. I was fortunate enough to be at a tiny gig (about 200 people) a couple of years ago, just her playing the guitar, and I was blown away by how talented this girl was.
She is allowed to change and experiment with her look her sound and actually isn’t that so refreshing? Let’s give this talented young woman the space to evolve.

  15. Amando says:

I love her new song, but I’m bummed she is going the blonde bombshell route now. I liked that she was different and not sexualized.
