NY AG: The state is pursuing a ‘criminal investigation’ into Donald Trump’s business

U.S. WASHINGTON D.C. TRUMP DEPARTURE BORDER WALL

As soon as Rudy Giuliani’s fart-soaked office and home were raided by federal authorities, I’ve been in a good mood. It might take a minute for chickens to come home to roost, but it will happen. Not only is Rudy looking at a far-reaching investigation into his treasonous activities, but he likely has plenty of incriminating evidence against Donald Trump too. And that’s not all! The New York attorney general’s office is still probing the Trump Org for all of their financial and criminal shenanigans. We learned last week that there are open discussions down in Florida about how FL authorities will handle it if they have to raid Mar-a-Lago to serve an arrest warrant on Bigly. Speaking of!

The New York attorney general’s office said Tuesday that it is pursuing a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization, in addition to the ongoing civil probe.

“We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the organization is no longer purely civil in nature. We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment at this time,” Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for the office, said in a statement.

Attorney General Letitia James has been at the forefront of legal action against former President Donald Trump’s family business. The Trump Organization investigation stemmed from allegations made by Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, who alleged when he testified to Congress in 2019 that Trump had deliberately provided incorrect valuations of assets in official documents, NBC News has previously reported, citing a source familiar with the investigation.

James’ yearslong probe into Trump’s charitable foundation led to its dissolution in 2018. More recently, her investigation into whether Trump’s business had inflated the value of its assets for the purposes of tax breaks and loans came to a head in October when Eric Trump, the president’s son and an executive at his business, sat for a pre-election deposition.

This is an update from New York STATE, it should be clear. The state’s AG is probing Trump Org, and that’s separate from Manhattan DA Cy Vance’s probe into Trump’s finances. Cy Vance has all of Trump’s tax returns and all of his financial information. I believe the state is coming at him from another angle, the business and the fraudulent charities. It feels notable that the state and the Manhattan DA are running concurrent investigations and likely sharing information, just as it feels notable that the AG made this announcement about the probe turning to criminal matters. Delicious!

Yes, this is fabulous news! Its like Christmas morning in May!! It’s about time that Drumpf is held accountable for his criminal actions. They could probably find more evidence of his criminal actions going back more than 40 years. Drumpfs millions are all ill gotten gains as it is. I hope that this dissolves all of the supposed Drumpf millions and he is made to sell everything off at .10 to the dollar and he is left with nothing. Prison would be perfect for him as well. Could not have happened to at a better time as well.
Hey Rudy, I don’t think that you should be counting on getting any of your money as Donny has no intention of paying you, as well your disbarment.

And this is separate from the investigation into the mishandling of inauguration funds, for which Nagini had to sit for a deposition last fall and raged on Twitter about how it was a waste of our tax money to make her spend two hours answering questions when she could have been using that money for more important things – making videos of herself walking into rooms to plaster al over federal websites.

Tish James is a badass. And, just a note to any Manhattan Celebitchies, early voting starts June 12. I will be voting for Alvin Bragg for Manhattan DA. He will continue this work! https://www.alvinbragg.com/plans

If he goes to prison what happens to the Secret Service detail? Do they have to protect him in the yard?

It’s actually a really interesting thing to consider. How would such a high profile (in the sense of national security) be effectively and safely jailed? I feel like house arrest, with lots of guards and restrictions, or solitary confinement in a prison designed for individuals such as these.

It feel very European monarch being deposed, the idea of a former president sitting alone in a large house, eating by himself at a luxury dining table made to seat 20, while armed guards march up and down the hall.

  7. Snuffles says:

How much longer will the GOP continue to genuflect to him as their “true leader”? Will they continue when he’s in jail? When he’s dead?

    • Seraphina says:

Unfortunately as long as he has a large base of voters they will continue to support.

  8. Merricat says:

In prison, he’ll probably have to use Tang as a powder base instead of going for a spray tan.

    Knock knock.
    Who’s there?
    Joe.
    Joe who?
Joe ass is going to jail, Donald.

  10. Becks1 says:

    GET HIM!

And isn’t SDNY investigating him as well?

    • Lucy says:

SDNY is who got Rudy, so I feel like there has to be an investigation there as well.
I’ve read so many stories about a prosecutor’s office working to flip Allen Weisberg (? I can’t remember the last name), Trump CFO. I can’t remember which office is doing that off the top of my head.
The karma bus is gaining steam.

    • Jaded says:

Yup – Trump got Bill Barr to fire SDNY prosecutor Geoffrey Berman, but he initially refused to step down. His suggested replacement was a VERY Trump-friendly Jay Clayton, chairman of the SEC. That raised a LOT of hackles so Berman was replaced by his own chief deputy, Audrey Strauss, who seems like a bad b*tch and gets stuff done – e.g. in January she announced a $180 million fine on Toyota for violating the Clean Air Act. I’m sure Trump is still very much on her radar.

I feel like every agency, state, DA, etc out there in an area where he’s done anything is looking into him and the whole organization. As they should, as he’s been a criminal and a cheat his entire life.
The funny thing is if he’d just stayed out of politics, he and his loathsome children could have likely continued their grifting for a very long time, but his ego drew a spotlight onto all of it, and now everything is being brought to light.

“The funny thing is if he’d just stayed out of politics, he and his loathsome children could have likely continued their grifting for a very long time, but his ego drew a spotlight onto all of it, and now everything is being brought to light.”

this, completely…but I also think he didn’t expect to win. he figured he’d lose, he could gripe about it being “rigged” (because he – and his deplorable base – THRIVE on grievances), keep his base of supporters and his Twitter followers, and make more money off of it. but Putin had other plans and Dumpy wound up in the spotlight. then, of course, his ego took over. he couldn’t just occupy the WH for four years and keep his head down, signing whatever Turtle McConnell put in front of him. he HAD to be #1, in the news and on people’s minds ALL. THE. TIME. and that was his downfall.

I want to be happy about this but…around these parts, people will always believe that their leader / god is being unfairly locked up (persecuted just like they are) and they will do anything to stop it. In my head, I keep hearing a future history book narrator saying, “The final straw came when criminal charges were justifiably brought against Trump but he had already convinced 70% of the GOP base that it was effectively imprisioning the rightful president and it became akin to another “Assassination” of an Archduke…”
Sorry…I just don’t put anything past him or the people who follow him. PTTD (Post-Traumatic Trump Disorder)

    Good!!!!!

  13. Aimee says:

I seriously doubt he will ever see the inside of a cell. This MOFO has gotten away with sh$t his entire life. He even managed to convince MILLIONS of people to vote for him for President of the United States. There is something seriously wrong here.

I would love to see him pay for his substantial crimes but I just don’t know if he ever will.

  14. Joanna says:

    😂😅😅😂😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  15. Jess says:

This is great news. Throughout Trump’s administration I hated pinning my hopes on any white men (Justice Kennedy, Mueller, etc.), but I will always put my faith in Black women. It’s not fair, but the truth is they’re the ones (along with other women of color) who get sh#t done and drag this nation forward.

  16. The Recluse says:

Well, they did get Capone for tax evasion, so I’m optimistic.
