  1. one of the Marys says:

She looks defiant about looking so poorly put together

    • Impress says:

That’s her thing. Look like hell and get big mad when people critique.

      • Renata says:

Then why critique it? It’s been 10 years, surely everyone knows she’s not shooting for a conventional aesthetic. It would be news if she was coloring within the lines but this isn’t news. It’s just being grouchy that Lena is playing her own game and didn’t invite you.

      • minx says:

You can just see it in her expression…she’s daring everyone to slam her. Then she can whine about how mean people are.

      • Tanguerita says:

@Renata Lena, is it you? almost didn’t recognize you, but then you opened your mouth.

    • whatWHAT? says:

surly, too. she looks SO unhappy/uncomfortable with what she’s wearing.

if SHE hates it, it should be no wonder to her that EVERYONE hates it.

and it’s NOT her weight. Melissa McCarthy is overweight and used to be MORE overweight than she is and she always looked nice. Dunham goes out of her way to look ridiculous, wearing things that are not flattering, mixing and matching, etc.

this is no exaggeration, she dresses like my niece did when she was 8-9. printed skirt, rainbow leggings and some sparkly top. it’s cute on an 8-year old. not so much on a full fledged adult.

    • Cws says:

She looks like a pouty 8 year old.l, particularly with that god-awful bow on her head. If a six-year-old looks better wearing something…like a bow, I really don’t recommend it.

    • The Recluse says:

It is possible to dress well. She just has odd tastes in clothes. And I don’t like that other dress the other actress is wearing either. Is that a whopping big fat bow on the front?

  2. Nev says:

    Stop this.

  3. Lexilla says:

She’s problematic, I know, but I never really mind when women defy red carpet rules.

    • Hannah says:

Agreed! Let her have fun. Color outside the lines.

    • surf says:

I get the “theory” of ensemble & personally love vintage mixed prints meets comfort.
The dress thingY could have been a longer bias cut longer gown of sorts w some “fall” vs wrapping paper effect.
Tis fabric swatches w no design. Fail.

    • Sally says:

I generally have a weird soft spot for her. She’s a horrible person, but she’s the only female director I know who has gotten away with things similar to what the male one’s have gotten away with. It feels like progress in a very cynic way.

      • Lily says:

        I hear what you’re saying. There’s a fabulous quote exactly on this…

“We will only truly be equal when there are as many mediocre women in positions of power as there are mediocre men in positions of power.”

    • whatWHAT? says:

yeah, but she looks like SHE minds.

her whole shtick is to wear something she looks terrible in and then complain when people drag her. it’d be one thing if she looked HAPPY, like she was enjoying herself and her…uh…”ensemble”…but she looks pissed, like SHE can’t even believe how ridic she looks.

I have no problem letting people “have fun” with what they wear, but does she look like she’s having fun? she looks uncomfortable and annoyed.

      • Sue says:

Exactly. Emerald Fennel is a perfect example of someone who colors outside the lines with red carpet fashion and is clearly enjoying it.

  4. KNy says:

Honestly, I can hardly see past the hair. It’s like the hair of a 6 year old girl who got a hold of the scissors and cut her bangs herself, who also happens to refuse to let her mom brush her hair.

  5. Jules says:

the pouty pout is too funny

  6. Elaine Stritch says:

Her posing on the red carpet is always the most cringey. She’s usually trying to do some open-mouthed/sexy/ennui Vogue model thing and it’s painful to see. Her MET Gala carpet photos are the worst…

  7. Tiffany says:

I thought Mark was already married.

  8. Katie says:

<> I kind of like it?

    • Anners says:

I went to the link of how it was originally styled (similar sort of print Oxford underneath and white lacy tights with brown lace up shoes) and quite liked it. I don’t hate this on Lena, but the hair and vacant expression are really detracting.

    • Keats says:

Ok I definitely do not like it, but the photos took a minute to load so my mind was racing with anticipation and this was…not that bad? A bunch of functional clothes present, no complaints!

  9. Darla says:

God no, Phoebe was the worst friend. Remember what she did to Ross regarding evolution? I couldn’t be around her for five minutes, and I think she’s a psychopath. I once read that you can view Friends as being about five crazy people, who drive one normie (Ross) out of his mind over a period of years. lol. I can see it.

    • Renata says:

Ross is the normie? Come on. He’s a self important gaslighter. How can a man who downplays his gfs career be a normie, is the bar that low for men?

      • Darla says:

        It’s a joke Renata. Chill.

      • Hannah says:

Friends was all kinds of messed up, but yeah. The bar is that low.

      • Renata says:

Really? Don’t see a punchline. Anyway since we are using the term joke so losely then I was joking too.

      • tealily says:

@Renata lol! I’m with you one Ross.

      • Mcmmom says:

I’m with Renata on this – Ross always drove me nuts. I liked Chandler the best because he seemed the most like a real person. Like….I could imagine knowing him in real life (he worked in IT or was a systems analyst or something). Lisa Kudrow seemed like the most normal person, but Phoebe was so off the wall with a little bit of an edge to her that I couldn’t imagine being around her for long.

My 14 year old daughter is so excited for the reunion. She is always surprised when I know a piece of Friends trivia and I keep reminding her that I watched the show the first go-around.

    • Mtec says:

Joey is the best friend. Aside from the mooching, he always put others first. Phoebe is my favourite, but she even admitted she likes playing the puppet master of the group.

    • Eenie Googles says:

WHAT?! Ross is the biggest douchebag!

He is the least likeable of the Friends.

    • SpankyB says:

I laughed so hard with that evolution bit. Poor Ross was speechless.

  10. Soupie says:

Phoebe was the best “friend” on Friends and in real life the most interesting and creative overall.

  11. thecookingpan says:

I’m beyond horrified that anyone would consider hiring Kevin Spacey. It is beyond an insult. The article brought tears to my eyes.

    • whatWHAT? says:

I felt the same way when I read that this am. like, WHO wants a comeback for him?!

      • EllenOlenska says:

Ever notice how in the great wave of “ me too” predator outings the only one not making a comeback is Bill Cosby? And Jeffrey Epstein. The straight white guys are all well on their way back. I guess Spacey was next….(and yes, it’s disgusting. Now that I’m older I have noticed the way the patterns work, when I was a younger activist I really believed things would change more quickly than they do)

      • whatWHAT? says:

eh, that’s not completely true. Harvey Weinstein isn’t coming back, and I’m betting that Danny Masterson won’t be making a comeback either. but overall, I do agree with you. mediocre white men always seem to fall up.

  12. L4frimaire says:

I like prints with stripes as a concept, but this look isn’t pulled together well. The shirt looks too big and the the dress is a little too tight. The look is too juvenile, but then so is Dunham.

    • whatWHAT? says:

yes on the sizing being wrong.

along with what I had written above about her “fashion” choices, that’s another thing she does to deliberately elicit criticism of her outfits. she will wear something that is too small for her and then accuse people of fat-shaming. and I’ll say it again, Melissa McCarthy is overweight but always looks good, one reason being she chooses the correct size of what article of clothing she wears.

      • L4frimaire says:

Exactly. Melissa McCarthy dresses like a grown woman. Aidy Bryant’s wardrobe on “ Shrill” looks cute and fashionable, and fits her. Regardless of size, clothes should fit well and she has the money to get custom tailored or a good stylist.

      • Normades says:

Aidy has FANTASTIC style. Of course you can have a fuller figure and be fashionable, have fun, and look fabulous at the same time.

I agree Lena just seems like she’s trolling.

  13. Rose says:

Who made Lena the “voice of a generation?” Her attention seeking antics remind me of my toddler.

  14. tealily says:

    Honking for The Linda Lindas!!

  15. K says:

Lena does nothing but bore me. Kevin Spacey is utterly terrifying and he must know so many terrible things so many terrible people.

  16. Soupie says:

Lena Dunham makes herself ugly and unstylish to get attention, but the real issue is she doesn’t love herself so her outer appearance reflects her self-hate and inner chaos. She knows this and that’s why even people like myself who would otherwise have compassion, don’t really feel much of anything for her besides revulsion.

    • Shoop says:

      Yeah, you sound real compassionate

      • Soupie says:

Hi Lena/Lena’s friend. Actually I am. If you were a regular on the Celebrity site you would know that but you’re probably a newbie so I’m going to ignore your criticism.

      • Kkat says:

Bunny wrote this up above and I totally agree
Lena is a total piece of crap. She is ugly inside and out

“(Bunny quote)Remember when Lena Dunham publicly shamed and demeaned a woman who was raped by her friend by insisting that the woman was wrong?

Remember Lena Dunham’s racist behaviour that caused Zinzi Clemmons to quit Dunham’s Lenny Letter?

Remember Lena Dunham’s utterly baseless smears of Odell Beckham Jr?

She’s trash, regardless of her expression, clothing, etc.

        Nothing she does is interesting.”

      • Soupie says:

Haha Celebrity I meant Celebitchy. Anyway, wow I had no idea so many people had such strong feelings about Lena but it makes sense. I wish she would seek therapy to heal. It CANNOT be any fun to be her. I’m not saying that mean-spiritedly.

    • Midge says:

There’s definitely a self-loathing. It’s like she tries to look bad so she doesn’t have to try to look good and be disappointed by it. Also, and this is written above, she does it get a reaction so then she can be the victim.

  17. lunchcoma says:

Ugh, I thought Lena had finally been canceled. There are so many talented people who aren’t harmful…

  18. AnnaC says:

One nice thing about her outfit..I like the boots. Probably ridiculously expensive but they look comfortable.

  19. Willow says:

Kevin Spacey is exactly the kind of person that cancel culture should be used for. But because he is a white male with money and connections, and hasn’t been accused by multiple people in court, he will be ‘forgiven’.

    • The Recluse says:

He’s toxic. He should never be rehabilitated. I think Anthony Rapp is still part of the case against him.

  20. Jayna says:

Horrendous. I sometimes think she can’t wear an outfit any worse than the one I’m seeing her in, but she always proves me wrong. Exhibit A is the above outfit. Fugly.

  21. TeeMajor says:

She looks disgruntled and bad as normal. She’s such a attention seeking troll.

  22. Myjobistoprincess says:

She knows it looks bad and it’s like she wants to look bad. I feel she doesn’t want us to think that she would try to have something nice to present herself in, because there’s a fear that the media might be trashing something she really viewed as nice. The ego here is hurting and also posh-spice-babe-look-alike posing beside her is unfortunately not helping either… so she went with the contrast. I feel so much hidden anger or discomfort coming from her when I see her – I don’t like it – mental health is important people, get help if you need it!

    • Ann says:

I agree, she wants to give off an “IDGAF” vibe with her outfits so that no one thinks her feelings are hurt when people criticize them. I used to find her goofy ensembles fun and kind of fearless, but this is different. There’s nothing wrong with any of it in concept, but it doesn’t fit her, she looks kind of unhealthy and has a grim expression. If you’re going for “fun,” you need to look like you’re having fun, and she doesn’t.

But as for Billie Piper, she has a great figure and is obviously very pretty but she’s trying way too hard with the sexy expression. I’ll take that over Lena’s look any day, but it’s still annoying. I’m getting tired of actors posing with their mouths half open.

  23. Jenn says:

When people are completely covered up like that, I just assume it’s psoriasis or lupus. I would not be surprised if LD has lupus. I didn’t recognize Billie Piper next to her, though! Wow, she looks terrific! I’d be pouty if I had to stand next to her, too.

  24. EduBois says:

Here’s another! This racist is a disgrace. Stop promoting racists.

  25. Thirtynine says:

I’m here for the LindaLindas. ‘Racist, Sexist Boy.’ Loved it.

  26. Aitana says:

Lena D. is the absolute worst. Doesn’t everyone know this? Saying what she wears on a red carpet is ‘a lot’ belies there are expectations of her to dress appropriately when she hardly ever does. Isn’t it best to ignore Lena D. & maybe only comment when she does dress appropriately?

  27. Penny says:

She dresses like a toddler picking out her own clothes.

  28. Chloe says:

Remember in the <2000’s when people wore what they wanted (ie not the same 5 designers) to award shows and everyone didn’t look exactly the same? I do and I miss it!

  29. amiloo says:

I legit thought Mamie Gummer and Grace Gummer were the same person until I read that article.

And I don’t know much more about Mark Ronson than what I learned in his Architectural Digest home tour, but I LOVED HIM (and his home) in that video.

  30. JanetDR says:

Lena’s outfit reminds me of what the character Nell wears on NCIS LA. At first, when her look changed I assumed she was pregnant (and she wasn’t on camera for awhile there). But it’s still going on and it’s an odd (to me anyway*) combo of pinafores and bulky shirts that don’t match and aren’t remotely flattering – sort of sister wife style.
    * I don’t think pinafores are odd – I have several – I like a layered look.

  31. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

She’s a sullen, bottomless, attention-seeking pit of misery.
