We’ve heard of several celebrities welcoming babies during the pandemic when we never knew they were expecting! I’m thinking about Mindy Kaling, Constance Wu and Naomi Campbell. People Magazine has a whole slideshow of celebrities who hid pregnancies and of course I missed a bunch. Add Emmy Rossum to that list! I saw a post on Twitter of her pregnant and announcing the birth of her daughter and thought “huh, I forgot she was pregnant.” I didn’t forget! She just never told us. Here’s more:
Emmy Rossum secretly welcomed a baby girl with her husband, Sam Esmail. The actress announced the news with photos from her pregnancy via Instagram on Tuesday, May 25.
“5.24.21 On a sunny Monday morning, at 8:13AM, we welcomed our daughter into the world,” she captioned the maternity photos.
The Shameless alum, 34, and the Mr. Robot creator, 43, got engaged in August 2015 after two years of dating. They tied the knot in May 2017.
That’s a boss move to just show maternity photos and a footprint to announce a baby. As Kaiser often says, the pandemic has been the break a lot of celebrities needed to have children without worrying about filming schedules. Checking Emmy’s Instagram, the last time she posted a full body photo was in October and that was from far away. It would be great to get little hand or feet photos and news on the baby’s name but I have the feeling that Emmy will be keeping that close to the vest too. She shares some details about her life but she’s generally a private person. I’ve always liked Emmy and Sam together and I’m so happy for them!

I don’t like Emmy bc she is the type to snap her fingers when she talks to the crew, but even I am not so cold hearted to not say congratulations and wish her and her daughter good health. Just don’t teach her Mama’s bad manners

I’m still so interested in Mindy Kaling and her babies! In theory I totally respect her right to privacy and not taking about it, but in practice I’m like please give us a hint. 😂
