Shar Jackson: K-Fed doesn’t care that he’s gained weight

Shar Jackson, the mother of Kevin Federline’s two oldest children, has confirmed what we’ve all long suspected: K-Fed doesn’t give a rip that he’s fat. He’s gained God only knows how much weight in the last year or so. I’d ballpark it around fifty pounds, residing mostly north of his legs, with the vast bulk of it chilling around his midsection. Where a female celebrity would have gotten all sorts of crap for gaining that much weight so quickly, K-Fed hasn’t felt the same heat. Why? Well partly because he’s a man, but mostly because he’s K-Fed. He’s a Q-list celeb, so who cares? Britney Spears gains weight but at least she’s famous enough to warrant the discussion. K-Fed’s gotten off the hook because there’s only so much you can say about him.

Which doesn’t mean it isn’t interesting. This is probably mostly because I’ve been on a super strict diet for the last six months, but I can’t help but be really fascinated by whatever’s going on with K-Fed. I mean he’s made no explanation about it – not that he owes us one. But he’s just started sporting billowy shirts and that’s about it. A weight loss component has been added to his upcoming reality show, with VH1 telling him to lose 45 lbs. And another company offering him $2.5 million to endorse their weight loss pills. But it’s hard to tell if he’s really losing the pounds, because Shar flat out admits Federline doesn’t care.

Talk about Kevin Federline’s ghastly weight gain all you want.

“He doesn’t care,” his ex Shar Jackson told Usmagazine.com at HBO’s post-Emmys party in Los Angeles Sunday. “The beautiful thing about him is that he could care less.”

She said the 31-year-old dancer-turned-rapper is doing “good.”

As his ex Britney Spears continues her Circus tour, he’s been on the road looking after their sons Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3.

Jackson said that he still manages to phone the two children he has with her: Kori, 7, and Kaleb, 5.

“He calls them all the time,” she told Us. “They have good long phone conversations. I’m like, ‘Ok, that’s good. Hang up the phone ’cause we have stuff to do.'”

[From Us Weekly]

It’s good that Kevin doesn’t care about his weight gain in terms of stupid superficial stuff and what people are saying about him. He might want to care in terms of his health, but it’s not like he’s going to drop from a heart attack tomorrow. But he’s carrying a lot of weight in the midsection and that’s a huge precursor to diabetes. Stomach flab is the most dangerous fat. I’m sure that’s not news to him. Clearly he’s not working on his dance career anymore, he’s in a relationship that seems stable and happy, and he’s got some projects going with reality TV. I will find it pretty interesting to see if he really does lose weight for his show, and if so how much. Rarely do you see a male celeb struggle with such rapid weight gain. But it is sort of obvious that he doesn’t care, for better or worse. But you’d think $2.5 million would help him pretend to.

    OBVIOUSLY!

Love he is carrying take out food in those pictures.

  2. rzrlvr says:

Wow. She’s like five feet from him in both those pictures. That’s not good. Wonder how long paradise will last once they’re not britney’s babysitters anymore?
He seems like he’s holding out for the best money he can get to lose the weight, rather than not caring. I don’t see how someone who’s shown themselves to be rather vain in the past can do a complete 180.

I’m not usually a nitpicker on grammar, but THIS…

“The beautiful thing about him is that he could care less.”

annoys me to no end. It’s “COULDN’T care less”. if you say “I could care less” that means that you DO care a little bit.

if you say “COULDN’T care less”, that means there’s now way to care any less than you already do.

grammar lesson over, back to business.

why should he care? he’s living a much more comfortable life doing nothing than a lot of people live working their asses off.

  4. Justalark says:

I’m surprised that the weight gain doesn’t bother his girlfriend–at least from the health and fitness perspective even if she doesn’t mind his changing appearance. After all, she is a professional athlete, so she no doubt is pretty strict with her own food intake and exercise regimen.

  5. Green Is Good says:

Of course he doesn’t care he’s fat. He’s got that monthly alimony and child support to keep him fat and happy.

I can’t believe this tub-O-lard used to be a dancer.

  6. Ophelia says:

@ Praise St. Angie- I agree with you! This has bothered me since I was a kid. I live in the south and everybody seems to phrase it that way. I stopped trying to explain it when I was 12 or so. Yes, I am a grammar nazi. 😀

  7. Sudini says:

I think he probably does care. How could he not feel bad about going from being totally fit from dancing, to this? I’m sure he feels icky, but just doesn’t want that to show.

I’ve also wondered if maybe he blew up on purpose so he could pitch a reality show or get an endorsement to lose weight? That’s just an extreme amount of weight to gain in such a short time. To go from one extreme to the other like that..something’s gotta be up (emotionally, metabolically or monetarily motivated).

  8. yadira says:

The girlfriend probably doesn’t care that she is dating a “mattress” since he is probably giving her a cut of Britney’s $$$

  9. susan says:

that’s far more than a 50 lb wt gain. I would put him north of 300 lb, suggesting 120+ weight gain since Britney days.

  10. uiot says:

50 pounds? i’d say more like 100, from his fit days.

  11. Cinderella says:

He doesn’t care because he’s going to make a lot of money when he loses it. He’ll be the nation’s next Jared.

  12. clare says:

    Not another celebrity reality show!

  13. ! says:

“Jackson said that he still manages to phone the two children”

Well how benevolent of him. He still manages to have time to CALL his two other children! Dad of the year!

That being said, I don’t really care if K-Fed doesn’t care. He’s still a fat fuck.

  14. Wresa says:

@ !: I was thinking the same thing. Long phone conversations? What a close bond he must have with his other children!

  15. Sana says:

One day when Shar’s kids are 17 or 18 he might visit them.

  16. GatsbyGal says:

If only he would wear smaller, more size-appropriate shirts. I hate it when fat guys wear huge, tent-like shirts, and those stupid wind shorts are the worst. I know he doesn’t care about being fat, but he could at least care about dressing a little better. He’s a grown man now AND a dad, it’s time to put the t-shirt tents away.

  17. Lway says:

Kevin is just gross. he has taken the phrase “letting yourself go” to a whole new level. eeewww

What is petite little Victoria still hanging around for?

  18. la chica says:

“Where a female celebrity would have gotten all sorts of crap for gaining that much weight so quickly, K-Fed hasn’t felt the same heat.”

i disagree with this assertion. K-Fed has faced all kinds of criticism and finger-pointing for his weight gain, despite being only a Q-list celebrity. i think it’s refreshing that he doesn’t give a crap.

  19. Popcorny says:

Yup, I think too that he’s gunning for a reality/weight loss program.
It is difficult to understand how a person would gain so much weight so quick (without a medical issue).
And yep, there is a bit of a double standard for women and men in the weight gain area.
Partly because men are more physically attracted visually than women and also that extra weight on a woman causes more shape difference than in men (example:the waist, men aren’t known or desired to have indented/hourglass waists/figures).

  20. TaylorB says:

Sana wrote: “One day when Shar’s kids are 17 or 18 he might visit them.”

By that time he will have to visit them, to sleep on their couch and borrow money.

  21. blkgurlwithwings says:

….maybe he’s prepping for an episode or “B- Celebrity Survivor” or “The Biggest Loser in more ways than one!”

  22. trichster says:

@ Praise St Angie- I never knew! And I am a grammar nazi too- I never say that but if I did, I would not have recognized the difference. Love the lesson!

    @ !; laughed out loud.

Am I the only damn one who kinda likes K-fed? Ya, he looks like a total lard ass, and last week I was in Italy+ their magazines are covering this extensively. But it got me ti looking @ his old photos and thinking…. Ya, he is pretty hot. And then how he stepped up w the whole Brittney thing/- he seem alright to me. And he looks cute enough even as a lardo.

  23. 4Real says:

Leave his big ass alone. Why does everyone love Ruby but hate KFED for being big? I’m with you Trichster, I’ve always admired him too for taking care of those 2 little tots when they needed him. He’s still the primary parent. Brit would be big too if she didn’t have to maintain her bod for her career.

  24. Jen says:

Why is Shar Jackson such a doormat? The guy blew her off while she was carrying his child, yet she still defends him. He’s a loser, and she’s as much a loser for constantly defending him. It’s pathetic.
