Prince Harry criticized for ‘running to his lawyers like a Hollywood star’ lmao

Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle visits Edinburgh

One of my absolute favorite things about all of the drama between the Montecito royals and the Salt Island royals is that the dusty saltines consistently get their panties in a bunch about people behaving professionally and responsibly. Like, of course Meghan kept written records of how she was treated. Of course she kept a paper trail of the abuse she suffered. It happened at work. The dusty saltines were also really mad that Harry went into the Sussexit negotiations with a list of stuff they needed to work out and clarify. Remember that? They were so mad that Harry actually came into that meeting wanting concrete decisions to be made. And now that the Sussexes are out of the Windsors’ grasp, apparently it’s totally bad form for Harry to… like, have a lawyer and correct libelous claims.

Royal author Phil Dampier has slammed Prince Harry for ‘running to his lawyers like a Hollywood star’ after threatening BBC with legal action over reports he didn’t ask the Queen about calling his daughter Lilibet.

Appearing on The Royal Beat, available on Royalty TV, the veteran royal correspondent branded the Duke of Sussex’s threat of legal action against the BBC and other media outlets as ‘absolutely extraordinary’ – adding ‘this is what worries me about him.’

‘Whenever something critical appears he runs straight to his lawyer,’ Phil Dampier explained. ‘It’s very LA. It’s OK for Hollywood stars, but not to solve a family feud…I think the BBC correctly reported what she had told her royal aide to say, which was she hadn’t been asked in advance.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Yeah, Harry had his lawyer threaten the BBC over their reporting because the Queen’s courtiers were actively briefing against him and claiming that he never spoke to the Queen about Lilibet’s name. It’s not “an LA thing,” it’s the professional way to behave, especially when the Sussexes are dealing with racists, liars and a–holes. But that isn’t the only thing Phil Dampier was upset about! No, he apparently has many concerns over the Sussexes’ Spotify deal:

Back in December, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed the dotted line on a multimillion-dollar deal with Spotify. Six months later, many are craving the content they’ve yet to deliver. Through their Archewell Audio imprint, the couple signed a reported $25M deal with the platform to produce podcasts and other programming “that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world.” Thus far, however, they’ve produced a three-minute trailer and their 34-minute Christmas Special, which premiered shortly after news of the deal went public in December.

The couple are also currently on parental leave after the birth of their daughter Lilibet two weeks ago, leading observers to believe they won’t be providing fresh content anytime soon.

“We’re being told they’re having up to five months off and people who are paying them a lot of money will expect something in return,” insisted Royal author Phil Dampier to The Sun. “They seem to be using up a lot of ammunition very early and putting a lot of stuff out there in terms of deals and agreements with lots of firms. The question might be asked whether they have too much on their plate.”

[From Page Six]

I mean, maybe they do have too much on their plate? But why is it any of Phil Dampier’s business? It’s between Spotify and the Sussexes. It doesn’t involve the royals whatsoever. It’s a business situation and no one has any idea what’s happening behind-the-scenes. You know why? Because Harry and Meghan aren’t doing twenty million “announcements” about what they will do eventually, nor are they making announcements about their plans to be keen eventually. They actually like to work on stuff quietly and come out with a finished (or nearly completed) product.

How fast did TOB run to his lawyers about the documentary saying his office briefed the bm that he was concerned about Harry’s mental health??

    • MsIam says:

I guess strong arming the media not to run things you consider unflattering is “royal”. Again these sycophantic media airheads , aka the Royal Rota are so tiresome!

    • Lorelei says:

He left a William-shaped hole in the wall because he ran to his attorneys so fast claiming that his “civil rights” would be violated if a publication dare mention the Rose Hanbury affair!

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

LOL I’m picturing Wiley Coyote doing this with the Roadrunner just watching with that “grin” on his beak

Just substitute TOBB and Harry in the respective roles 😊

    • superashes4 says:

I believe the answer to your question is less than 24 hrs. I think he took a little more time than that to actually brief against his mental health, however.

    • PEARL GREY says:

How fast did Kate run to her lawyers to threaten Tatler into editing their article? It’s standard royal procedure when they use lawyers to clean up their mess (even when the story is true) but it’s too “Hollywood” when Harry and Meghan seek legal help to defend themselves against lies. The press know what their anti-American readers want to hear, and labelling everything Harry and Meghan do as “American, Hollywood, LA” is like waving a red flag to a bull for xenophobic British people. It’s an easy way to inflame their target audience.

    • Sunday says:

That’s exactly why he’s making these comments. The entire ill-advised “offense” for the RF consists of projecting onto Harry and Meghan every single false step the RF themselves make. So, William/KP were obviously the ones who complained about the Omid quote, therefore Harry and Meghan must be guilty of that in a worse way.

    • notasugarhere says:

Ex. A recent negative article about Kate in the Telegraph was removed within three hours. Never complain, never explain my foot.

  2. Guest says:

The media is beyond mad that they know nothing about meghan and harry are doing.

    • Yvette says:

Agreed. I think that’s what chafes them most. They have no idea what’s going on with Harry and Meghan. No insiders they can bribe. No ‘Rose bush pruning’ style blackmail on Harry. They have nothing.

  3. MsIam says:

This old fart! (I don’t know if Phil is really old or not, lol) The Sussexes just announced another major hire for Archewell Audio. So why is he “worried” about when their content will come out? I see this comment a lot among the concern trolls. Ridiculous!

    • upstatediva says:

Plus, Obamas also have a Spotify deal, and it took them time to come out with their first pod series, MO podcast came out last summer. Nobody should be worrying about Sussex pockets, deals or their work. Frankly, every time they announce some work product (Hello, THE BENCH!!), nobody knows about it in advance. The RR are ridiculous. They do not like being called on their BS.

  4. Chica1971 says:

@LIZZZIE.. they remove the info immediately and quietly turned the trolls on Scobie

  5. Vanessa says:

It’s called accountability That’s what is scary this people for so Long they were allowed by the palace to spread lies by Meghan and Harry with no one defending them or correct the lies . This royal reporters are afraid of being sued by Meghan and Harry

    • LaraW” says:

      Dear Mr. Dampier:

Are you in need of representation? If so, may I recommend the firm Schillings for your needs? Though I believe they will decline to represent you due to conflict of interest. In which case I must leave you to find your own counsel.

      Kind regards,

      LaraW”

  6. lucy2 says:

It’s so funny they try to slap the LA/Hollywood label on everything, considering H&M don’t even live there. Isn’t Montecito a couple of hours away near Santa Barbara?

    • Xara says:

Beverly Hills to Montecito is 87 miles. So yes, about 2 hours depending on traffic of course.

  7. Rapunzel says:

Too much on their plate? No it just looks that way compared to TOB and Katie Keen, whose plates can’t handle more than a grain of rice or a crumb from a dusty saltine.

  8. Golly Gee says:

Tell the truth, don’t get sued. So simple.

  9. Merricat says:

No reason to be afraid of being sued unless you’ve done something that warrants a lawsuit.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Yes, exactly!! Will not report actual truth or try to rewrite history yet they are constantly being criticized by every step they do or do not take. They are truly scrapping at the bottom of the barrel with this latest spiel!!

  10. Margaret says:

Like Noone remembers the harry is fragile comment from willie, after the SA interview. I find all the rehashed old smears to be extremely boring, and pathetic, almost as pathetic as the ED looking, euro trashy, old ex Model that Noone knows, being quoted about the Sussexes, whom she doesn’t know. How pathetic was that?.

  11. Becks1 says:

iTV and Omid Scobie say what?

  12. Snuffles says:

It was a year between the Obamas signing their Netflix deal before their first documentary was released. Projects take time. The people they are working with in the entertainment world know this. In the meantime, Harry and Meghan have been dropping other successful projects (children’s book and Apple documentary) that keep their profile high. Not to mention the ENDLESS whining of The Firm keeping Harry and Meghan on the tip of everyone’s tongues 24/7.

Trust me, the Netflix and Spotify people are thrilled to bits. Harry and Meghan are hiring top notch people and their projects are steadily moving forward.

Maybe salty island should question why neither of Kate’s or Will’s announced projects have done anything significant.

    • lucy2 says:

Exactly. And I’d rather people take their time and do a good product than just throwing content out there just to have it.

    • Plums says:

I mean, it was years between the announcement of an Apple documentary collaboration with Oprah and the release of “The Me You Can’t See”. Making a quality production of anything takes time.

    • Lorelei says:

And the timing of *everything* was thrown off by the pandemic. Tons of projects have been delayed; it has nothing to do with H&M.

  13. Becks1 says:

Also, quality podcasts take time to put together .I think even Celebitchy said once that she was surprised at how hard it was in the beginning to put together their podcast and that there was more to it than she had anticipated.

I am sure Spotify is fine with the timeline. My guess is the Sussexes agreed to put something out in 2020 – hence the Christmas special – and I’m sure there is something in the contract about the next release .

    • Snuffles says:

The RRs are just hyperventilating at the prospect that Harry and Meghan will go dark for their parental leave and their shaking the trees for ANY crumb of information on their plans so they can spin their fan fiction from it.

That’s the key to RRs writings. They can’t write complete falsehoods. They need a kernel of truth they can use as a prompt that they can spin and speculate wildly from. Then use those ass covering phrases like “it is understood”, “sources in the palace say”, “a friend of” blah, blah, blah.

  14. equality says:

So what do you call it when KP calls out the lawyers for affair rumors, Tatler articles, ITV doc and botox? That affair and botox stuff definitely sounds “Hollywood”.

  15. Rapunzel says:

So Meg’s problem is she’s a Hollywood diva who intentionally seduced Harry so she could marry him and take him away from his “family” to Hollywood so she could be a big celebrity using his fame…. but she’s in over her head in Hollywood and doesn’t know how to do that work? Even though that’s the work she did most of her adult life?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  16. Amy Bee says:

The press are complaining about Harry and Meghan not releasing new podcasts because they’re thirsty for content. As for Harry going to his lawyer, why shouldn’t he? The press just want to get away with lying and Harry won’t allow it.

  17. Dee says:

Hollywood star? Please. He’s an international star. And the Duke of Clench can’t stand it.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Well said!! They are international stars, both Harry and Meghan. Harry was an international star with the Invictus Games, but now that he is no longer part of The Firm, he is an easy target for having not produced anything during a pandemic? Except the VAX LIVE Concert, or the recent trip to England for the awards ceremony for WellChild?

Please tell us Phil Dampier, do you mean these two recent events that he participated in, the last one in your own back yard, that hasn’t been promoted or produce? Or the fact that they have welcomed their second child yet TOB and Keen Guevara p, who took five years for a mail in survey that produced what results? Changes to early childhood development? No, nothing…..I thought not.

      • Eurydice says:

Yes, VAX Live which raised over $300 million when the original goal was $50 million – a documentary with Oprah, a best-selling children’s book, a deal with P&G to provide products for homeless women and children, delivering food to homeless veterans – just to name a few. While William goes to football games…

  18. OriginalLala says:

People who complain that H&M haven’t already completed audio/film projects obviously have never actually worked on large-scale projects before- quality takes time. But I guess when you’re used to Katie Keen and Baldimort……

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

@OriginalLala I don’t know about Baldimort–we’ll have to wait for him to actually do something before we can judge. But Keen understands that quality takes time. That’s why it took her 8 years to come up with a 5 question survey. Each question was lovingly crafted over months & years.

  19. SH says:

Spotify likely already got their return on investment with the Holiday special alone. The money was to bring new users to Spotify which would have happened when everyone went to Spotify for the holiday special and the value of the global media reporting when the deal was announced. Now their podcasts actually need to be quality. They just hired their head of audio so I’m not expecting anything until 2022 except for maybe another holiday podcast with an announcement of the launch of 2022. I expect we will see them use this platform as well to lead into the Invictus Games in addition to the Netflix doc.

    • equality says:

And Harry on Armchair Expert brought attention to an existing podcast also.

      • Becks1 says:

Harry being on Armchair Expert was a smart move because it showed how good he is at engaging in the podcast medium – even dax at one point was like, who is doing the interview here? Podcasts are tricky for me, some I find very engaging and some I find boring and its not always just about the subject matter. but when all you have to keep you interested is someone’s voice, and how they may interact with anyone else on the podcast – it has to hit a sweet spot so to speak. And I think Harry showed with the AE podcast that he is going to be able to do that.

I don’t expect him to host every podcast, but I do think we’ll hear more from him in podcasts and I think he will be very good.

      • Eurydice says:

I think it was reciprocal because Dax was already very popular. And Dax was just making to switch to Spotify himself, so it was clever PR all around.

  20. Eurydice says:

Holy Moley, how many royal biographers are there? Poor Phil, so worried about Harry’s lawyers – it must keep him up at night.

    • Lori says:

There seems to be alot of mouths to feed over there on the Royal gravy train. I would suggest to Charles, when he truly starts slimming the Monarchy, he start with rat control. There no need for him to be worried about the weight of his actual family on the balcony, when the pitch forks and torches of the Royal Rota are holding the thing up.

      • Sid says:

Meghan marrying into this circus really made a lot of money for a lot of people. There is a royal photographer who was complaining that he wasn’t able to access the government support programs during the pandemic, because he had just had the three best financial years of his multi-decade career. Those three years coincide with Meghan’s arrival. A bunch of new self-proclaimed experts who never covered the BRF before were able to jump in and make money too. And now it’s drier than a desert.

  21. Abena Asantewaa says:

They are aching for a podcast, so they can have more material for their smear campaign. Pathetic! Spotify knows the timeline, and are not concern. Why are they not focusing on The Left- Behinds, Bea is pregnant, Eugene had a baby, Fergie is a Youtuber, Zara and Mike- I don’t – believe in BLM Tindall, The Fiestas, The Cambridges are,,well……?

    • equality says:

The Cambridges are big-time YouTubers now. What happened to that story?

      • JT says:

@Equality That’s what I want to know. Putting up a YouTube video is a hell of lot easier than making a documentary or a podcast series. Shouldn’t he be shaking down the Keen’s tree for more content? They’re the ones who need to be babysat in order to produce anything.

  22. L4frimaire says:

Its so funny what these Royal reporters choose to complain about. Regarding the legal letters and lawyers, they’re frustrated because it shuts down narratives and the press can’t run with these stories unchecked. They need to put up or shut up now. They’re not acting like Hollywood starlets, more like a major brand and business that protects and defends their interests. As for Spotify, he neglects to mention that the Sussexes just hired a top notch podcast producer, and while they haven’t dropped their own content yet, they have been promoting Spotify.Remember Meghan in the lemon dress? That Armchair Expert interview Harry did with Dax Shepard was part of Shepard’s announcement he was moving to Spotify, and Harry brought in the listeners. The fact of the matter is these salty bitter folks are starved for Sussex content. These brief little visits from Harry shut them out and gave them nothing. As for being overextended, maybe that’s why they’re taking an extended maternity leave. Time to pause and settle, but unlike the royals these salty folks cover, there is no way the Sussexes are just doing nothing.

  23. Bettyrose says:

My gawd that picture of Harry. I know he’s a married family man now, but I still got eyes.

  24. Mina_Esq says:

Lol has this guy ever seen a contract? It usually sets out timeframes for fulfillment of terms. He needs to relax. Remember how Shonda Rhimes signed a deal with Netflix in 2017 but Bridgerton wasn’t released until 2020? The streamers know their business and the fact that good content takes time.

  25. beff says:

I’m old enough to remember Wills having his attorney contact ITV about the documentary that aired last week regarding Omid’s comments. They cannot help being the world’s biggest hypocrites in the history of ever.

  26. Izzy says:

William’s rose garden has entered the chat.

  27. Over it says:

Why are the British media dogs like Phil so pressed about the irrelevant ones? You told them to go . They are irrelevant. They left. You have your keens. Are your white keens not producing anything for you to follow? Well then maybe the British taxpayers should stop paying for them. Harry and Meghan are private citizens paying their own bills. What happens between them and the companies they work for or with is just that , between them. Stop printing and saying lies about Harry and Meghan and the lawsuits would stop. It’s simple logic but I forgot the rat media in the uk doesn’t do logic or common sense

  28. Margaret says:

I am down with the Sussexes using lawyers to deal with the lies and bullying. If the the liers don’t like it then stop the bs. I love the unsilencing of the the Sussexes. I respect those who stand up to injustices, no matter who the bullies are, family members are no exception. They do not get a free pass to destroy you, and cry foul when you fight back. Blood is thicker than water only when it is a fair and level playing field.

  29. KT says:

Ha! The reason that they’re so pissed about the libel suit is that it totally spoils their game.
They now have to prove that the story is true, but the only people who can actually prove it are the people on the call – Harry, and The Queen.

No-one is silly enough to think that The Queen herself is going to be called to provide evidence on this matter. You simply do not cause HM that kind of embarrassment. So the case is gonna end up showing that the source is a senior palace official who didn’t actually know the content of private conversations and was acting under their own initiative. Can’t possibly have The Queen shown in court to be ordering courtiers to brief against family members to the press. The Queen is above such petty rumour-mongering. (I actually truly think that she didn’t, anyway – this whole situation has the smell of courtier overreach – but even if she had, can’t possibly confirm that in court.)

  30. Over it says:

Phil and the rest of his friends of carnival of so-call royal experts are hungry. Times are hard . Harry and Meghan run a tight ship and nothing is getting out that they don’t want out. So what is the British media to do? Willy and the rest have no Sussex information to share so the rats are going crazy. If I were the keens I would be careful, because with a dry Sussex well the rats need to feed somewhere else.

  31. S808 says:

I’d call my lawyers every time. Their money is long enough for it. As for the podcast, RRs just want some content to write about and it’s easier to harass the Sussexes then demand W&K perform and not be a snooze.

  32. Jenna says:

The British royal machine just cannot quit its love affair with irony.

Let’s talk about the $1,300 an hour lawyers Bonnie Prince “That’s Not My Hand” Andy hides behind every time the US Attorney tries to make good on that promise he’s repeatedly made to “cooperate” with the Epstein/Maxwell investigation.

    ((grabs megaphone))

BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY, YOU HAVE ACTIVELY ENABLED AND PROTECTED A CHILD-ABUSING SEX PREDATOR IN YOUR MIDST.

But of course let’s make it a priority to take down the uppity brown woman who supposedly made all those white ladies cry.

  33. Isabella says:

Hilarious that the outraged reporter doesn’t pretend to know if the BBC report is right. Does a sneaky “I think.” The only beef is Harry went to his lawyers, which Will & Kate do on a whim. Too bad Meghan didn’t correct the crying story right away. That won’t happen again.

“I think the BBC correctly reported what she had told her royal aide to say, which was she hadn’t been asked in advance.”

  34. The Recluse says:

They won’t be happy unless H & M are impoverished and dependent on the royal purse for their pay checks and are subservient to the courtiers and the press. They can all go jump.

  35. LRob says:

This is not a Hollywood thing, Phil Dampier; it’s a professional corporate thing. It’s how professional global companies invest in reputation management. You spread rumors and lies; they gather receipts and call you out in lawsuits, public statements, public interviews and court. The rest of the RF need to accept that H&M have built a professional global business and will protect themselves, their partners, their business and their family accordingly. Come out into the daylight RRs and RF; come ready to play a new game.

  36. Monica says:

If Phil is so concerned about solving the BR family feud, maybe he should keep his sniping out of the press.

  37. Agreatreckoning says:

I’m laughing because the DM article referencing Dampier’s commentary about Harry is from June 18th. Then, lo and behold, not long afterward, Will/KP is threatening legal action against ITV and Omid’s comments.

  38. Calibration says:

the press don’t want to be accountable. That’s all this is about. I just deleted the BBC app from my phone, I’m so disgusted with them.

  39. blunt talker says:

The Sussex family has every right to stand up for themselves when something is said on Salty Isle that is incorrect-The UK media evidently don’t understand the business practices of the USA-Legal representation is necessary when one is falsely accused or smeared in the press-the people who bring these actions are called LAWYERS. Lawyers tend to matters their clients requests-

  40. Mooshe1 says:

The carnival of clowns act as if they work for Spotify. The taxpayers aren’t involved so the clowns need to follow protocol and stay in their places. They have tax paid royals like Andrew to think about

  41. Curious says:

Meghan could not sue while they was working as royals. everything had to go through the courtiers. and she was denied her human basic rights. then we had the press saying, as long as you live off the tax payers money, its their right to know everything about them, they want pics of her first born. then H/M stopped being royal workers. so no tax money is being used on them. and the press is still demanding pics of her Lili Diana. but now they are just private citizens. they can’t or should not be allowed to make press headlines demanding private citizens should should allow them in their lives.Meghan is allowed to sue now that she is a private citizens. this gossip they write about her ,the press should be held accountable. the more the press write negative things. the more people see how nasty they are.
