Jason Sudeikis steps out with his new girlfriend/old friend Keeley Hazell

42nd Toronto International Film Festival - Kodakrome Premiere

Olivia Wilde moved on from Jason Sudeikis quickly, perhaps even with some overlap. She officially began dating Harry Styles back in January, and “sources” have not shut up about how Jason has been pining away for her, that he’s desperate for her to dump Harry Styles, that Jason is completely obsessed with her. Alongside those stories, there were a few gossip items about how Jason has actually been seeing other women too, like his old friend Keeley Hazell. Well, Keeley and Jason stepped out this week in New York together for a People Mag-exclusive pap stroll.

Jason Sudeikis and Keeley Hazell’s relationship appears to be heating up. A source close to Sudeikis, 45, confirms to PEOPLE that the Ted Lasso and Horrible Bosses 2 costars have “been seeing each other.”

“They’ve been dating for a little while now,” the insider adds. “They’re just having fun. It’s nothing serious at this point.”

Sudeikis and Hazell, 34, were also photographed out together for the first time since PEOPLE confirmed they were casually dating in February. Stepping out in New York City on Sunday, the couple were snapped with their arms around one another as they took in the sights of the Big Apple.

A source told PEOPLE in February that Sudeikis, who split from longtime partner Olivia Wilde last year, had been dating Hazell. The two “knew each other from many years ago,” added the insider, who said at the time that the actor wasn’t looking for anything serious.

Hazell, a model and actress, met Sudeikis on the set of 2014’s Horrible Bosses 2, where she played Chris Pine’s assistant. She can also be seen in a few episodes of Sudeikis’ Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso as Bex, the girlfriend of Anthony Stewart Head’s character, Rupert. The show includes a character named after Hazell: Keeley Jones, a model played by Juno Temple.

Oh wait, all this time I did not realize that Keeley Hazell is Bex on Ted Lasso. I did not put that together at all. So… Jason and Keeley have been friends for years, he hired his friend for this smaller role in Ted Lasso, his relationship with Olivia ends and now Jason is seeing Keeley and sources keep saying he’s obsessed with Olivia. It’s all very… odd and interesting. Anyway…

She’s cute and Ted Lasso is my fave show right now.

    That’s all I’ve got

I can’t recommend enough the show Trying, so warm and funny! I think Ted Lasso fans will appreciate it!

  2. Lena says:

Hmmmmm…the plot thickens, as they say.

Good for him. July 23rd, season 2!

  4. Driver8 says:

Love Ted Lasso. Love him. She’s cute. I hope they’re having fun!

Based on her previous relationship PR, I don’t quite buy the story OW is trying to sell on JS pining away for her, so good for him.

Ted Lasso is amazing and I’ve rewatched season 1 three times already and I see something new every time. One of my favorite non Coach Beard scenes (because let’s be honest, he steals every scene he’s in) is when they are at karaoke and Rebecca is singing “Let it Go” and Roy is in the background singing along. Can’t wait for July 23.

    • E.D says:

Coach Beard is a GOLDEN GOD.
And Roy – gah, he just kills me.
I also get a real kick out of Higgins and his understated humour. Look out for all his mannerisms on rewatch number 4. His physical comedy is very clever.

      • JULIE says:

Coach Beard who can play chess on an imaginary board. And sing Gaga karaoke. My fave.

Nothing really to say about this other than Olivia Wilde moved on, and now so has he, eh.

I’ve heard so many good things about Ted lasso- but I watched a trailer and it seems tk be about football which I hate?! Is it really that heavily football focused?

    • Tiffany :) says:

The plot centers on the sport, but Sudeikis’s character doesn’t know much about it! The show is about how you face life’s challenges/fish out of water, and they just use the coach of a sport to illustrate that point. I don’t follow football/soccer, but I still loved the show.

    • Oh-Dear says:

Football is the vehicle for the story (failing team needs new coach, coach is unconventional but inspiring, players are mix of douchebags, aging players versus young egos, and unseen heroes, the regular American movie tropes of redemption and learning lessons), but it is about relationships, men becoming better people, optimism, etc. There are locker room story lines and the story of the season, but it is mostly a character-driven.

The female characters and Coach Beard make it very worth giving it a chance.

I mean, it is technically about a U.S. football coach going over to the UK to coach a Premiere League football team. If you really HATE football, maybe you wouldn’t be able to get past the scenes of men kicking a ball around.

But that’s just the surface and supplies some funny fish-out-of-water jokes. The show is really about how to live a kinder, more supportive, more community-oriented life. It deals with navigating interpersonal conflict, dealing with bullies, facing your own mortality/weakness/faults, reinventing yourself… It’s brilliant and warm and super funny.

      • Oliphant says:

Thanks all!! It definitely sounds like it’s about a lot more than just football from what you’re all saying so I’ll give it a go tonight- thanks for the input! 🙂

    • ClaireB says:

I enjoy watching soccer because my kids play it, but I was going to give Ted Lasso a pass because I hate sports movies. After everyone raved about it, I gave it a chance and absolutely loved it! As soon as I finished the last episode, I went back and rewatched, then got my mom, son, and husband to watch too. It’s much more about the power of consciously choosing to be compassionate and honest than it is about sports.

I have zero interest in the sport, and I absolutely loved Ted Lasso.

The “Jason’s sad about Olivia” wasn’t planted by her team. It was a narrative that tried to make her look like the bad guy in the breakup, leaving her long-time partner brokenhearted. It was tabloids being tabloids. They make assumptions and run with it.

It’s funny how it was used to hate on Olivia when people thought it was true, and now it’s being used by people to hate on Olivia now that they think it is not true.

  8. The Artist Formerly Known as Valiantly Varnished says:

Sounds more and more like they both had overlap at the end of the relationship. But that Jason is playing the PR game to be look like the injured party.

  9. Merricat says:

Ted Lasso is just right for our times, coming out of the assholery that characterizes the previous U.S. administration. After 4-5 years of people being contemptuous and ignorant and selfish, it’s lovely to have a show where people want to be kind, want to be better. It’s an antidote.
