Cleaning products including a spin mop, a calcium deposit remover and more

Amazon_CornerShowerCaddy
From CB: Last week I got this corner shower caddy for my walk in shower. I can’t believe I have one of those now but it didn’t have enough storage before. My toiletries look organized now! It was easy to put together, looks nice and seems sturdy. I also ordered another one of these excellent cell phone holders from Lamicall, this time for my son’s car. I’ve been planning to deep clean my house and so I have more products for that this week. Here are some more things Hecate and I are looking at on Amazon.

A trusted lime and rust remover to clean coffee pots, washing machines and more
Amazon_CLR
From CB: I’ve been thinking about buying cleaning tablets for my washing machine as my dark clothes are getting white stains on them. I looked through reviews for those and one person recommended CLR instead. This multipurpose cleaner is so affordable at under $5 for 28 ounces. I’ve ordered it and am excited to get my washing machine working well again. This has 4.6 stars, almost 7,000 ratings and a B on Fakespot. Reviewers say it cleans rust and calcium stains really well. “It immediately made my calcium scum dishwasher 90% cleaner. My clothes washer repairman was the one who told me about it.” “I use this about every 6 weeks to clean out my washer. ONE empty load with CLR and the rust was gone!” “It works like magic and clean my hot water pot in exactly 2 mins.”

Patches to reduce fine lines and wrinkling
Amazon_WrinklePatches
From CB: I’ve noticed in photos that I have these deep lines between my eyebrows. I don’t want to get Botox yet as I’m afraid it will make me look too different. I was looking at patches called Frownies designed to reduce the depth of those lines, called glabella lines. You pull your skin tight and apply them for several hours or overnight. However I opted for these patches by Blumbody which can treat more areas of the face. Last night I used them for the first time and I really did notice a difference in the morning! Plus I barely noticed them on my face and was able to sleep as usual. People say that they’re astonished with the results. These have over 3,000 ratings, 3.7 stars and a B on Fakespot, which is similar to Frownies. You get 165 patches for $17. Reviewers write “I’ve been using these patches 5 days a week for a month and the difference gets more noticeable every week! I had tried Frownies and they were horrible compared to these and Smoothies are more expensive for less strips and less variety.” “I am 51 years old and people have asked me several times if I do Botox.” “A Botox alternative that‘s not only super cheap, but also delivers results over night?? ‘HAS to be too good to be true’ I thought when I ordered these.. but I stand corrected.” “I wore 1 patch over night (because that’s all I needed for my scowl lines), and they are completely gone. I may just be lucky, but I am 6 days out from wearing a single patch over ONE night, and the lines are only just now starting to reappear.”

A spin mop that’s better than O-Cedar and comes with three mop heads
Amazon_SpinMop
From CB: I have a Shark steam cleaner but honestly I don’t use it enough and consider it a pain to clean the floors. I keep seeing YouTubers with the O-Cedar mop, but that has a lot of reviews calling it flimsy and small. This spin mop by Aootek comes with three mop heads and a bucket, similar to the O-Cedar model, that keeps the dirty water separate from the clean water. I’ve ordered it but haven’t tried it yet. It’s competitively priced and has over 8,700 reviews, 4.4 stars and a B on Fakespot. Reviewers say that it’s lightweight and makes mopping easier and faster. “I usually use a steam cleaner, however this is just as good when you use hot water and so much easier.” “I have been amazed how great this Spin Mop is. I have tried other floor cleaners and this one is the best. Others left streaks, were too wet, and hard to move. This Spin Mop is not too wet, easy to move and the floor looks clean and no streaks”

A cordless vacuum and mop all in one
Amazon_VacMop
From CB: I just found out that Shark has a vacuum and mop all in one! It’s called the Vacmop, it’s light and rechargeable and uses disposable pads which are currently .80 each if you buy a 30 pack. You can reuse the pads if you’re just doing light jobs and not cleaning your whole house or a large wet spill. This has over 15,000 ratings, 4.5 stars and a B on Fakespot. People say it’s easy to setup and use and that it both vacuums and mops well. “I like how it scrubs the floor while also picking up small debris. In the past I have used the Swiffer WetJet product and though it left a shine on the floor, it dragged dust and debris across the clean surfaces. Also I always had to buy refill cleaning fluid bottles with the Swiffer but what’s great about the Vacmop is you get to put whichever cleaning fluid you like.” “Absolutely love this product. Great suction power and pick up ability! My floors look awesome in half the time versus sweeping and mopping!” “I’ve now used this on my whole house and I LOVE it! The suction is awesome, all those little crevices that dirt always stick in comes clean with the suction power. The spray mop is awesome and the cleaner leaves your floor clean and shiny.”

Roll on essential oils for effortless self care
Amazon_AromatherapyOils
From Hecate: I use essential oils in my Saturday soak baths but I don’t think I use them effectively enough in my life. Ever since CB introduced me to the Migraine Stick that’s worked so well in my pain management, I’m completely sold on oil roll ons. I just bought this trio of oils for Stress, Balance and Sleep. Each roller uses a combination of oils to help the user relax. They smell so good. I only just got them and I’ve used the Balance and Stress so far. They instantly calm me down when I put them on. The only thing I’ve noticed is the scent doesn’t last long. I know I’m absorbing the oil but I’d like to be able to get whiffs when I lift my wrists. The trio cost about $13 but I used the 5% coupon Amazon is offering right now. The rollers received 4.5 stars from 935 reviews. Fakespot gave them a B. Commenters said both the oils and the price help with their stress, “For the price of $13, you get three roll-on essential oils that are really decently sized and smell AMAZING. As a stressed out college student during the pandemic, these have really helped me and I’m so grateful for them!” Another said the sleep roller really helped, “My favorite is the Sleep one. It have really helped to increase my sleeping hours.” I haven’t tried the Sleep yet because I’ve been having some Migraine issues so I’ve been leaning on the Migraine Stick at night. But I can’t wait to try it.

A clean/dirty dish magnet to reduce confusion in your house
Amazon_DirtyCleanMagnet
From Hecate: I am very fortunate that my family is fairly good about putting dishes in the dishwasher (fairly, let’s not give out any awards). However, there’s always a question of whether the dishes in the machine are clean or not. And guessing usually leads to the clean dishes getting dirty and having to be rewashed. So now we rely heavily on our clean/dirty magnet. Ours was a gift my son’s friend made, a beautiful piece of two-tone glass. But I love how sleek this one from Amazon is. Plus it’s stainless steel so it would match nicely if you have a stainless finish to your appliances. The little slide would make it so easy. It’s normally $13 but right now it’s on sale for $9. It earned 4.9 stars from over 7,000 reviews and Fakespot gave it an A. Some reviewers said it stays put, “I love how it’s hard to take off so if there are children running around they cannot take it off the dishwasher, it’s designed great.” And kids can’t play dumb anymore, “it’s something so simple but my little ocd heart loves seeing it and knowing the kids now have no excuse to unload/load the dishwasher with the common line of “I don’t know if it’s clean or dirty.”

A tie dye kit makes a fun craft project
Amazon_TieDyeKit2
From Hecate: I know tie dying is really easy but somehow I always seem to mess it up. I love kits like this because it comes with all the accessories and a user guide for inspiration. There’s something about summer that gets me excited about tie dye. It’s such a great summer activity. I tend to overdo it and soon I have socks, headwraps and bras that embarrass my kids. The kits come in six different color combos and they’re usually $20 a kit but this week they’re on sale ranging from $8-$17. But you can make several items from one kit so that’s a pretty good deal. Over 5,700 reviewers gave these 4.8 stars and Fakespot gave them a B. Reviewers say the products hold up well, “Easy to use. Have held up well to multiple washes,” and “Great product! Easy to use and the colors set nicely! It also had a great pamphlet with dying techniques that was very helpful!” Maybe I’ll make some pet collars or harnesses. Pets don’t get embarrassed!

I remember CLR adverts were constantly on TV when I was growing up as a child in Canada. They made that stuff look so magical!

  2. faithmobile says:

CLR is magic! Nothing gets the soap scum off the shower glass like it but it smells toxic. For porcelain I swear by Bar Keepers Friend. My house has natural wood floors so wet mops are out, however i’m still looking for the best way to clean my old linoleum kitchen floor besides scrubbing on my hands and knees, any suggestions?

    • tealily says:

I love Bar Keepers friend too!

We have a Shark steam mop that works well on our kitchen.

      • BothSidesNow says:

I am going to have to try than, and possibly with a power tool with a pad. The water here is awful and my enclosed glass shower looks awful!! Plus, I can’t stand the taste of the water or ice cubes due to the taste, and the water has a RO system. We have tried everything, so Bar Keepers it is!!

      • Nikki* says:

Another Bar Keeper’s fan here. I use it on my porcelain sink, and my awful glass cooktop.

  3. Giddy says:

I just ordered most of these items! This list really hit so many of my needs. I’m very interested in trying the essential oils. A tip I can give my fellow CBers is to use vanilla essential oil to combat mosquitoes. A drop on each wrist, the back of the neck, and your ankles, and you’ll be protected! I’ve used this for years and don’t remember my last mosquito bite. Living in central Texas that is really something. It’s safe for children and my morning application lasts all day, although I do reapply after swimming. You’ll smell good and be mosquito free!

    • BothSidesNow says:

Wow, I am going to have to try that!! The mosquitos here in Texas are bigger, thirstier and more aggressive than the enormous wasps we have!

  4. Becks1 says:

bought the magnet – we have a problem with the dishwasher, lol. I hate emptying it for some reason (I’ve timed it, it takes me like 3.5 minutes to empty it, but I hate doing it, I think because it’s one of those things that you constantly have to do?) and so if i see its clean I’ll put off emptying it and i’ll put my dishes from the day in the sink and then before the boys get home from school or wherever I’ll go to empty it and realize…..it was dirty the whole day but still full, so now I need to run it, and then the dinner dishes pile up and it just becomes a whole thing.

This happens about twice a week, lol. You would think I would just check but nope. So yeah, getting the magnet, haha.

I have the tie-dye kit – it works pretty well. Its really easy for kids to do so thats the best part.

    • SpankyB says:

The best fix would be to have two dishwashers. Use the clean dishes in one, then put the dirty dishes in the second. You never have to put dishes away again. LOL

      • BothSidesNow says:

That’s a great idea!! Now I want a second d/w!! I hate emptying the d/w, because things never truly fit back where I took the tupperware from. And the don’t dry, which I have to dry by hand.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

Taking all the dishes out of the dishwasher and putting them away along with doing the same for clothes in the dryer or 2 boring tasks!

  5. Jocelyn Cox says:

Anyone thinking about getting some deep cleaning done needs to find gocleanco on instagram. Some of her reels and stories are so gross. Lots of great tips. She has really blown up over the last year and now her feed is a little sponsor-ish, but definitely worth looking at her older stuff.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Damn, she has some amazing tips!! I am constantly spilling coffee on me!! I can’t believe that her tip works by putting the clothing in the sink, drop a dishwasher tab and after 20 minutes, wring and wash!!

  6. Doodle says:

Please be careful with clr. I used some recently and accidentally mixed it with another cleaner when trying to get a stain out of our bathtub. I created fumes so horrible I couldn’t breathe and long story short my husband ended up calling 911. We had a fire truck and two ambulances come to our house – turns out they get calls like this all the time because of clr and reactions.

    • BothSidesNow says:

You are absolutely right!! My neighbor in the early ‘90’s was using a cleaner and mixed bleach with it. She was home alone and she died to it. Never mix any household chemicals! She was 30, left a husband and two adorable small children.

  7. SpankyB says:

I used Frownies years ago when I first started getting crows feet. They do work. I’ll have to try the new ones. Frownies were a little uncomfortable, I would wake up in the middle of the night and rip them off.

    • Celebitchy says:

I’ve been wearing the Blumbody ones all day on my forehead and I wore them all over my face last night and didn’t notice them at all!

  8. tealily says:

Wow, this is like a “things tealily has been meaning to order” post! I appreciate the rec for the phone holder. My last one broke almost immediately and I still haven’t replaced it. Also ordered a dishwasher magnet. I’m going to hold off on the shower shelves for now, but noting the brand! I’ve been debating if I should get a suction cup one or not.

    • BothSidesNow says:

I purchased the shower tower from The Container Store and I love it. Though my shower is medium sized so I don’t want to take up too much room.

      • tealily says:

Good to know! It’s one of those things, I’d like to get a “nice” one, but plastic probably is best for a shower situation. I just hate accumulating more plastic stuff.

  9. alsf says:

I wear frownies, but will look ata blumbody too. so far I only need them for 11s but that will change. Maybe it will help with my developing crow’s feet.

frownies can be a little stiff, but I also sleep in a eye covering which lays over the frownies so they don’t bother me.

    • BothSidesNow says:

I am going to have to try these as I have a very deep wrinkle just between my brows from looking at a screen all day. Plus I have noticed a deep one developing at the top of my forehead. I hope they work!!

They have neck ones!!! Yay!!! I am getting some of those too!!!! Yay!! Thank CB for these great products!!
Plus, you can subscribe for the facial set as well!!!!
