Prince Harry’s memoir ‘will be hugely damaging to the House of Windsor’

09-03-2020 Commonwealth Day Celebrations Westminster Abbey 2020...

Prince Harry is currently working on his memoir, which will probably be completed and ready to print by the end of this year. I can’t help but think about all of the bullsh-t that came before this. As we’re sitting here in mid-July 2021, the British media has spent the past 18 months smearing Harry, smearing his wife, racially abusing his children and lying about everything. In the years before the Sussexit, the Windsors and the British media were actively trying to make Harry and Meghan’s lives a living hell, with the express goal of ending their marriage and shipping Meghan back to America (I’m not joking). They drove her to thoughts of suicide and self-harm and then they kept piling on abuse. And then, after Meghan and Harry had gotten away, the Firm still stripped them of their royal patronages and told them they couldn’t use their HRHs.

And now Harry is going to talk about everything. Maybe he always would have talked about everything no matter what. But one way to look at it is that his family left him no other option but to burn every f–king bridge. And that’s what really scares the Windsors and the enablers, because they can’t war-game a delicate situation to save their f–king lives. Harry has nothing to lose on Dusty Saltine Island. He doesn’t give a sh-t about harming the monarchy at this point. There’s nothing left for him there.

Prince Harry’s explosive memoir about the royal family will only ‘further damage’ his relationship with his brother and father, an expert has claimed. The Duke of Sussex, 36, has been secretly working on a book for nearly a year which he has since sold to Penguin Random House. It will tell the story from his childhood growing up in palaces, to his time in Afghanistan and his decision to leave the royal family in 2020. Sources close to Prince Charles said Harry’s father was ‘surprised’ at the news and that the royals had not been warned that a book was in the offing until the news broke tonight.

Speaking to FEMAIL, royal expert Robert Jobson said the book will only ‘lead to conflict’ and will be ‘hugely damaging to the House of Windsor and Monarchy as an institution. The author, who wrote bestseller ‘Prince Philip’s Century’, added that Harry is already ‘rich and famous’ and the book serves no purpose but to ’cause damage’.

‘As night follows day, this was always going to happen,’ he told FEMAIL. ‘It will become an international bestseller, but at what cost to the monarchy? There will be nowhere to hide’.

He also compared Harry to his great-grandfather’s brother Edward, who abdicated so he could marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. ‘It is not the first time an “exiled” senior royal has written a memoir, the former King Edward VIII wrote one. His book “A King’s Story: The Memoirs of HRH the Duke of Windsor, KG” was published to a media storm in the 50s. It caused a sensation. But this is bound to cause mayhem amongst the House of Windsor. If Harry, which seems inevitable, goes into detail about mental health issues involving his wife and alleged racism at the heart of the royal family, it will be hugely damaging to the House of Windsor and the Monarchy as an institution.

‘Harry is already hugely rich and famous so apart from damaging his family – which a book like this will inevitably do, I am not sure what he is trying to achieve. Whatever he says will lead to conflict. No wonder there is a rift between the royal brothers and problems with his father. How can any bridges be built when he is doing this? ‘.

[From The Daily Mail]

“…It will be hugely damaging to the House of Windsor and the Monarchy as an institution…” GOOD. “How can any bridges be built when he is doing this?” That presupposes the idea that Harry cares about building bridges with his family. He does not. Not at this point. Not after what they did to his wife and his children. “At what cost to the monarchy? There will be nowhere to hide.” It’s always funny when one of these commentators accidentally tells the truth. They’re not really worried about familial relations between the brothers or between Charles and his sons. They’re worried that Harry and his story have the power to do a massive amount of damage to the monarchy. Oh well! You f–ked around and now y’all are gonna find out.

Hilarious. Oh, my god, I am laughing so hard.

    • SaySo says:

Yes, the fact that the first thing they do is mention how damaging this will be, goes to show that they have so much wrong to hide that they don’t know what to say to get ahead of it all. Wow, I can’t wait.

      • Grumpier than thou says:

I find it very strange that the books these ‘royal journalists’ constantly write about the claimed ins and out of the monarchy are absolutely fine, but Harry’s on the same topic will be so destructive. It’s almost like their books might not reveal the whole truth? Not to worry, am sure none of them intend to write any more biographies

      • Guildish says:

        Ummm….

So it’s Harry’s memoirs which will bring down House Windsor …

Ahhh wellll …. keep on, keeping on Randy Andy.

      • anance says:

The Wessexes should write their book. Bet Edward knows where the bodies are buried; his section on Andrew will be explosive.

“Even as a young pre-teen, Andy was interested in the little girls in our group. At one point, the aristocrats stopped allowing them to attend our playdates without their “gun-toting male nannies.”

      • Lilibetp says:

If the truth can harm the monarchy, then the monarchy deserves to be harmed. It was one thing for them to treat the married-in badly, but when they do this to their blood relatives, it’s another thing entirely.

      • observer says:

Anance, I laughed. also i agree

      • PrincessK says:

Some anything damaging the reputation of the royal family should be swept under the carpet? Brexit Britain is so desperate for the glory days of old, it is very unhappy to accept multicultural Britain and the Royal Family is one of the last institutions that symbolises the glory days, which is why they are happy to defend silent Andrew. So the lesson is you can do absolutely anything behind closed doors as long as you don’t let the world see the dirty linen.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Welp! There goes the invite to Sandringham this Christmas!
Oh what, oh what can the Sussexes do instead!

      LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! GOOD FOR HARRY!

Frankly, I think he should’ve just done it and let the PUBLISHING DATE/ARRIVAL IN THE BOOKSTORES speak for itself!

      • Merricat says:

I think that was his plan. The info was leaked, so they came out with the announcement.

    • marehare says:

I read all the racist attacks on Megham and also the fact that the House of Windass never ever publically supported her or called for the attacks to stop. I’m with Harry and Megham and glad they are safe here in the US. The Royal House is a racist house of hate. Look what they did to Diana. Her husband cheated on her with that old bag and hated Diana because she was more popular than all the others. Royal family are racist as hell and Charles (heavy drinker with red face) and Prince Billy ( cheater, angry racist like daddy) will never be loved like Harry is. Harry is the best to come out of that house of hell.

      • Jaded says:

How do you know Charles is a heavy drinker? Just because his face is red? It’s because he has rosacea.

    • superashes says:

Right? Isn’t it great that this also lines up with that bullshit bullying investigation? He should just title the book “Receipts, Motherf*cker”

    • Christine says:

Just think, one heartfelt apology and this all could have been avoided. I am giddy at how precisely karma is serving up her retribution. I haven’t witnessed a better example in my entire life.

  2. SarahCS says:

I mean at this point we can totally write these ‘outraged’ stories with a simple computer algorithm where you just type in the specific event – ‘Harry writes memoir’ and the computer does the rest.

The assumptions they all make are astounding, never mind the outright lies – ‘exiled’, err, I think not. That WAS the plan but it blew up and Harry skipped out of the country with a smile on his face and not a backward glance. Just a bit different to Nazi Edward I think who they needed to push away quietly before too much could be exposed.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

SarahCS, they use exile and bring up Eddie and wife to intimate that H&M are pathetic hangers on, who beg for any spare tuppence the brf will give them. I always think they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel when they’re forced to do this. They keep trying to make Harry something of a Nazi collaborator and Meghan as the woman who led him astray. How stupid do they think the people of the world are? Geez, these people really need to find a new topic.

  3. atorontogal says:

What are they so afraid of? The truth? The “experts” should know that the RF have nothing to hide, so why all the panic? 😀

    • lucky says:

That’s what I keep thinking! They are saying there are so many skeletons in their closets that they are freaking out, rather than, ‘we are so happy for harry and are thrilled to read his book,’ which would read as a supportive functional family. They are working so hard against their own interests, eye-roll.

      • JT says:

Exactly. Why would this book be damaging to them? Especially as they all came that everything was all hunky dory and perfect before Meghan came along. The happy trio anyone? The firm knows they treated Harry like trash his whole life and are scared he’ll tell the truth.

    • Jay says:

They are definitely doing Harry’s publisher a huge favour by wringing their hands so publically! They are basically admitting “Oh no, this will ruin us, because we have done so many terrible things.”

      The royals have no chill.

And it really irks me that they keep trying to compare Harry to Edward and Wallis, not the least because Harry never abdicated a damn thing, but also because by all accounts, Edward still wanted the trappings of the monarchy and allowed himself to be paid off to go in exile. Harry and Meghan chose to leave and make their own way.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Let’s not forget, in that last speech Harry gave before leaving, he said, “If you knew what I know….”

Well…looks like he’s getting ready to let us know!

    • Riverandtree says:

@atorontogal exactly! Why can they not see how bad they look through their reactions to this news? What did you (BRF, british media) do to him that has you so convinced this book will just be a nonstop reveal of negativity? Nothing Harry and Meghan have done or said makes me think Harry’s book will be a blame game type of memoir but the reaction of the press is very telling.

      • ElleV says:

agreed – this is an over the top reaction to what will probably be a softball book (just like finding freedom was) – but i guess rrs have to frame it that way because no matter what they’re gonna act like whatever harry writes is the MOST DAMAGING BAD THING EVER

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

ElleV, that would be a great advertising campaign tag line! Not true, but very funny.

  4. Mac says:

We all saw the BRF’s racism in real time. They should be shook about that, not Harry’s book.

    • L4frimaire says:

This right here. They have collective amnesia and denial in the UK, like we didn’t see the constant nastiness and racism directed toward Meghan day in, day out.

  5. MsIam says:

I mean how obtuse can Jobson be? He basically said there is racism and mental abuse at the heart of the royal family but he’s worried about the damage to THEM. And they wonder why Harry is writing a book. Harry must have felt like he was swimming in Jello living amongst that bunch.

  6. Amelie says:

This reaction is so hilarious. It only is damaging to the Monarchy and RF if they did anything wrong. If they conducted themselves well then they’d have nothing to worry about. You only worry if you have something to hide.

But the tweets from rota rats saying they will fact checked Harry’s lived experiences is just first rate. Like eff off.

    • Harper says:

They are writing the headlines now: The 1,728 Lies Harry Told About His Childhood.

“Harry’s charming tale about losing his favorite stuffed toy Tigger in the river during a summer vacay in Balmoral may have touched the hearts of readers, but according to ex-Royal Nanny Stern McBritches, Tigger was most definitely not Harry’s favorite toy that summer. “I distinctly remember him preferring his stuffed doggie BowWow more than Tigger. In fact, Harry would never take BowWow anywhere for fear of losing him, whilst he was much more careless and rough with Tigger and noticeably less protective. Harry’s tears over losing Tigger were easily soothed when he was reunited with BowWow. Diana made sure that a replacement Tigger was flown in from London by the end of the next day.”

      • Ann says:

        Stern McBritches. LOL.

      • GRUEY says:

Omg I’m laughing so hard at this because you know it’s coming and the derangers will be making each of these out to be actual gotchas. Meanwhile Charles out here straight up being Cain to Edward in the full light of day.

      • Christine says:

        I am on the floor!

      • Lori says:

I believe the royal nanny at the time was Tiggy McBangsChaz, so they probably dont want any of those stories out either.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

        Hahaha…Love it, Harper!

  7. AVEA says:

It makes me so happy that the Windsors their courtiers and the British media are so in the dark about what he’s going to say in this memoir they just assume the worst, they are so scared lol. They just confirmed to everyone that damaging information about them exists and I cannot wait to see what mistakes they’re going to make in trying to cover their asses

  8. Izzy says:

But from the description of the book, it sounds like it will be much more about his journey as a human being evolving, and less about dropping truth bombs and receipts on the RF. Why are they so hysterical already? “Nowhere to hide”? What do they have to hide? I thought they were very much not racist… 🙄

    • Jais says:

I’m curious bc I think there will be truth bombs but not the expected ones. Like things that happened when he was younger that we wouldn’t even imagine.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

There was just a piece on The Today Show about this, and it *does* sound like it will be Harry’s personal journey of growth, and that he DID speak to The Palace about it beforehand.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

(The OG) Jan90067, I watched a two of the clips. One talked about the book being about Harry’s personal journey, the other with a “royal expert”, Daisy someone, hyped it as a tell all. She also started nit picking saying that although they said the proceeds would go to charity, they didn’t say if advance (supposedly $20MM) AND the royalties would go to charity and H would need to clarify that. What? They said proceeds. What is the definition of that in England, ’cause this American doesn’t understand?

      • Feeshalori says:

Oh, please with these royal “experts” nickel and diming him to death. Charity begins at home and Harry has to keep some of the profits for his mega security and for his livelihood. It’s admirable that he’s donating to charity from book sales, but he is a working man now and not living on that rarified royal air anymore.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Izzy, that was what the initial public statement was, it’s the life of Harry and how he came to be the man he is, there was no mention of it being a book to blast the royal family, The Firm or the men in grey.
I don’t understand the hysteria over a book that will probably not be a book of secrets. What a bunch of idiots!! Hope to see they start handing themselves as they release information on their own, as we all know that the royal rats love to stir up hatred and smear campaigns, that never end.

    • Jaded says:

@Izzy – I agree. I think if he drops any bombshells they will be about himself and his efforts to work through his mental health issues. It’s been a long, tough road he’s traveled to get to where he is today – parent’s messy divorce, Diana’s death, repressing all those feelings of sadness and rage over the years. Meghan was the one who led him out of the darkness and urged him to get therapy so I’m sure he’ll tell the story of his journey to love, marriage and fatherhood.

    • Nic919 says:

I agree. This overreaction tells us that the Windsors have a lot to hide, because the description sounds a lot like what Harry did for the Me You Can’t See program where he spoke about himself and barely mentioned anyone else.

I don’t see Harry doing a tell all and bashing his family so openly, not with his grandmother still alive.

      • Rapunzel says:

My theory: the RRs are desperate to expose the BRF for the money and wish they could go scorched earth. So they assume Harry must feel the same way.

    • Ann says:

Saucy&Sassy, would that be Daisy Goodwin by any chance? She’s the main writer/creator of “Victoria” and also wrote “To Marry An English Lord.” She also moonlights as a Royal Expert. She’s actually very smart and accomplished so I don’t know why she gets mixed up in covering this nonsense. I guess $$$ talks, but she has plenty of it already.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Ann, I think that’s who it was. The name didn’t mean anything to me. She just joined the band wagon as the rest of the nut jobs in BM. I don’t understand any of them.

  9. Izzy says:

They are SO MAD they can’t write this book and make bank on it.

  10. A says:

This is when they finally reveal Prince William is actually Bat Boy, right? Since the BRF is so not racist and the Firm is so well-run and not at all a nightmare, that’s gotta be the secret they’re worried about.

  11. Seaflower says:

Karma is such a b*tch BRF and RR, and it is best served cold (with a nice glass of bubbles overlooking one’s Montecito gardens as the children and dogs run freely)

  12. Ariel says:

How How How- do none of these racist people understand that when you frame the discussion NOT as – racism is bad- but as- exposing the royal family’s racism is BAD, poor royals, you paint a giant neon RACIST sign on yourself.
Every opinion they utter should be labeled as the opinion of a racist, and judged accordingly.

  13. Becks1 says:

They keep telling on themselves, don’t they?

Why should this be so damaging to the monarchy and the House of Windsor? are you telling me….they have something to hide? Something to be ashamed of? That they are racist and bullies and toxic and abusive?

If not, if everything was hunky-dory as the royals claim, then what could be so damaging?

    • JT says:

All this outrage is just making me ask what did they do to Harry? And not just in recent years, but how did they treat him as a child? This hoopla over a memoir makes me think there were some really dark things happening in Harry’s childhood that the firm doesn’t want to get out. Harry wasn’t as protected as William was and still is. I don’t know if Harry is going to get into it, but something happened. Maybe they will start revealing secrets again like in the run up to the Oprah interview.

      • Jais says:

Just said this up thread @JT. I’m real curious bc the dark stuff in this memoir might come from places not expected, having nothing to do with Meghan.

      • JT says:

@Jais I think there will be some big bombs, but not the ones that people were expecting. Maybe even some truths that the family didn’t even know about. Harry’s lived a fascinating life, but there is so much that isn’t known about him. I’m really curious about this book.

      • Becks1 says:

Yup…..the outrage over this and the Oprah interview just makes me think…”what the hell did they do to him?”

    • Nic919 says:

This nails it. And we predicted this yesterday as soon as the news came out.

If House of Windsor was smart they would issue a statement saying they look forward to his memoir and shut down all the hysteria going on with the rota. But they won’t.

    • anance says:

@Becks It doesn’t have to be about H&M–He could title it “What I Saw”

  14. taris says:

there’s such an unusually large spotlight on harry (and meghan) and on everything they do. they’re really not at all like other public figures. the slightest thing they do ripples through the world even if they don’t mean it to. any other person announcing a book wouldn’t be this big a deal. i honestly struggle to think of a single ‘famous’ person out there whose every move is scrutinised and criticised and opined on by millions of people who don’t even know them at all.

now, of course, harry is a prince of the house of windsor – it’s reasonable to think a memoir of his will certainly reflect on the other royals, sure, but this is *harry’s story*.
for years other people have spoken for him (without his consent for the most part), and on the occasions that he has spoken he’s really given snippets and anecdotes and such. this is his opportunity to go through his entire life with a fine-toothed comb and get really personal.

yeah, i’d be scared/annoyed if i were at the palace right now, but i truly don’t believe it’s harry’s intention to be petty and vindictive. regardless, he clearly feels there are things that need to be said, so … i pity the collateral at the palace.
the only high point for the windsors next year will be the jubilee. then, after that harry’s revelations PLUS S5 of the crown. oh my…

  15. anniefannie says:

The old adage “ it’s only a game if everybody is playing” comes to mind.
Harry isn’t playing, he’s moved the ball and it’s going to be a glorious spectator sport watching the RF scramble to try to retrieve it. Watching their impotent efforts will only exacerbate their self imposed problematic issues and I’m glued to watching their destruction …

  16. Lori says:

These sulky water signs (William and Charles) really have no idea what its like when a virgo goes scorched earth. He has the same birthday as my dad( different year) who is a quiet man, meticulous in details and warm and engaged. But go ahead and FAAFO, they never forget all the details that lead them to the explosion.

    • 809Matriarch says:

I always thought the fire signs were dangerous. Virgos seemed rather harmless to me. But I’m not into that anymore. Still Virgos are dangerous huh? Welp some folks you just gotta show ’em better than you can tell them. Harry said, I asked for calm from the BP as a boyfriend, as a husband and as a father…

    • original minny says:

Also, Billy has Pluto square Pluto in his transit chart. This is a really really challenging transit- lots of breaking down, transformation, death process stuff (figuratively speaking). He’ll need to work with the energy or have the energy work on him. Pluto -by the way is ruled by Scorpio. Sun in Scorpio is his -father and Scorpio/Pluto rules Harry’s 10th house of career and reputation. No truce indeed.

    • Ann says:

Hey, what do you have against water signs?! LOL. I have multiple Cancers in my family, all very different, and they aren’t particularly sulky. Also, my son is a Pisces. I mean sure they sulk once in a while, but don’t most people?

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Lori, I’m a Virgo and one of my brothers is, too. We like people and laughter and are really quite reasonable people so we will let a lot pass. If you cross our line–well, let’s just say it’s not pretty. We use our words and completely annihilate whoever crossed it. You do NOT want to deal with a pissed off Virgo.

  17. Amy Bee says:

I think also part of the outrage from people like Jobson is that Harry writing his own book prevents them from writing their biographies about Harry. Those concerned about Harry writing his book so soon should bear this in mind. Next year being the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee means the royals books coming out next year would be about her reign not Harry. Late 2022 is the the right time for Harry to get out his story.

    • Merricat says:

Yes, it’s brilliant. Why should he let them write his story?

      • Brilliant x infinity. It’s his life. He speaks for himself, he lives it. And yes to the “biographers” not getting to make money off of him. Comeuppance x infinity. Thank you Celebitchies for pointing this out.

    • booboocita says:

Oh, trust that after Harry’s book is published, there’ll be a rash — pun intended — of books from the RR rats quoting the book and opining that “what Harry REALLY meant was …” and “poor Harry will have little true recollection of events, given his tender years when the event happened,” and “his memories are colored by what Meghan has persuaded him to believe.” Jerks.

      • Babz says:

I’ll bet that these “biographers,” particularly Angela Levin, are having major panic attacks right about now. She’s styled herself as being so knowledgeable about him, but she spews lies – vicious ones at that – every time someone points a camera or a microphone at her. She met with him about 15 minutes, wrote an unauthorized book about him, and that’s it. Once this book is published, she won’t be of any more use to the tabloids. Jobson is another low life, who sees his dreams of a lucrative bio blown to hell. It serves all of them right, but we’re going to have to put up with a year of them shrieking as much garbage as possible. In the end, though, we know who will win this battle – Major Wales. They brought this on themselves. To paraphrase a certain politician (as much as I despise him) “They were warned, they were given an explanation, and yet they persisted.”

      • Merricat says:

I think that anyone who believes a secondary source without evidence over a primary source is a fool.

      • LMR says:

If Harry were to go scorched earth on anyone, I hope he starts with that bitch Angela Levin.

Line up and debunk all the lies she told about him, and add that she doesn’t know the first thing about him or anyone else in the royal family. It will blunt any future books that she writes.

  18. Harper says:

Dimbleby’s biography of Prince Charles is 620 pages of his life in the palace and he’s still in the line of succession and on the balcony. But Harry’s memoir is going to be the damaging one. Why is that, I wonder?

  19. lanne says:

I thought he was just the spare and he doesn’t matter? Why should a book written by a second son cause such a kerfluffle? Had Princess Anne written a book, the world would have likely gone—which of the Queens kids is that?

The only reason why Harry’s book is a mega story is because of how the royal family and the media treated him and his wife. The royals, ratchets, and right wing media have only themselves to blame.

    • Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

I just said something similar to this on Twitter. If the Royal Family and the British media hadn’t gone out of their way to smear Meghan in particular, this wouldn’t be happening. They didn’t expect Harry to defend his wife, they expected him to act like Prince Charles. The more they smeared her, the angrier Harry has gotten. You are so right, they have no one to blame but themselves.

      • Myra says:

In hindsight, the half in half out proposal wasn’t such a bad thing. Personally, I’m thankful they rejected it.

  20. Sofia says:

As I said in the other post, if people (both fans and rota) are expecting Harry to go “William does cheat on Kate and here’s who he cheated with” or “Charles is the most useless father to ever walk this earth. Middle fingers up towards him!” are going to be disappointed. At best I think it’ll be “Finding Freedom” like and at worst, Oprah interview like. Express disappointment in them but still have sympathy for them. He won’t be spilling any of their secrets.

Edit: That being said, there may be some illusions like “Meghan was chucked under the bus to cover for some other family members” but that’s it

    • MsIam says:

You really think after his brother is alleged to have called his wife a bitch, sociopath and a narcissist that Harry is going to hold back? For what reason? He held back on the Oprah interview and you see where that got him. Its FAAFO time now. He’s given these toxic people plenty of chances and they’ve only doubled down.

      • Sofia says:

Because no matter how much some people want Harry to go scorched earth, he hasn’t and most likely won’t. The bullying claims came out before Dax’s podcast and TMYCS and Harry was still cordial and sympathetic towards them. William wasn’t even mentioned in the latter. And William and Charles’ affairs have nothing to do with Harry and his story. If you want that then I’m sorry, you’re going to be waiting and wishing for a bit.

Harry also respects his grandmother too much. So he will hold back if only for her.

      • Harper says:

Dax’s podcast and TMYCS and James Corden are all a certain kind of media but a memoir allows one to get into all sorts of lovely details and timelines and it’s all there in black and white, easily accessible at all hours of the day or night, easily referrable when a rota rat starts insisting otherwise.

I’d suggest reading a previous royal bio or two and you will discover all the gory details hidden in those pages., especially one of the Charles and Di versions. Sleeping around, angry confrontations, Diana cutting herself, hurling herself down the stairs, vomiting till the point of fainting on Royal tours, sneaking lovers in and out of the palace — it’s all been released and still there for anyone to pick up and read.

And what does scorched earth mean other than telling the hidden truth about what happened, which Harry and Meghan already did on Oprah? The skin color conversations, Charles refusing to take Harry’s calls, the Palace basically telling Meghan to go away and not bother them with her suicidal breakdown. I mean, what more are people expecting? Wasn’t any of that scorching enough already?

      • Jais says:

@harper- very good point. Harry isn’t going out of his way to go scorched earth, but just by telling his truth, matter of factly, it will be scorched earth. He’s going to give details into a very rarefied world that survives and functions by staying in the dark. Harry is lighting a match just by writing about his life, regardless of anything.

    • Babz says:

I honestly believe the earth he will scorch will be the earth under the feet of the tabloid media. He has hated them his entire life, and has lived through their abuse of the two women he loves most. He has sued them, he has warned them, he has done everything but put out hits on them, and they still won’t stop. His fury is reserved for them. The family is a separate issue for the way in which they abandoned him and his family, but the RRs deserve his rage and I think he’ll give it to them. Maybe once Gran is gone, there might be more written about the family abuse and the mental health damage done to him and Meghan. I, for one, want him to burn that trash media down to the absolute ground. They deserve no mercy.

      • Sofia says:

Yeah the media and the courtiers are the ones who should be scared. I don’t think Harry wants to really go in on his family even if only and ONLY for his grandmother.

Or I could be wrong and he says “so here’s everything terrible Charles and William said along with dates and times”

  21. KT says:

Just a note: this book will be released be next September/October in the run-up to Christmas.

I can guarantee you that now because it’s when ALL the biogs and memoirs are released. They make for popular Christmas gifts and there’s a week or two where they all land in the release schedule.

Plus, it may be written or partially written but it will need to be edited and fact-checked and the lawyers will need a fine-tooth comb to make sure there’s nothing problematic in there. That all takes time.

    • Snuffles says:

Correct. His draft deadline is October and most of it is done. The rest is editing, fact checking and lawyers combing through everything to make sure they can’t get sued.

    • Amy Bee says:

This is true. Andre Agassi’s book which was ghostwritten by the same guy who is helping Harry with his, came out around that time. I remember because I got his book as a Christmas gift.

    • Merricat says:

      Yes, exactly.

  22. Snuffles says:

Like I said I’m the other thread. Harry’s life didn’t exist in a vacuum, so the members of the royal family WILL be discussed, but probably as it only pertains to him. Which is enough to make them shit the bed. But other family members dirty little secrets (like extramarital affairs, dodgy business dealings, Andrew and Epstein) won’t be brought up because it has nothing to do with him.

I don’t know who’s more freaked out. The family or the royal rota. Because while I think Harry will pull his punches when it comes to his family, I think will unleash hell on the tabloid press.

To quote comedian Katt Williams “You shouldn’t have been talking shit.”

    • Becks1 says:

” Because while I think Harry will pull his punches when it comes to his family, I think will unleash hell on the tabloid press.”

This is what I think too – the press is freaking out because Harry isn’t going to hold back when it comes to them. and I think he’s going to name names, and the press can only cover up for themselves so much.

Remember in the Oprah interview, when Harry mentioned that the reporters came to holiday parties at the palace, and some RRs were like “thats just a flat out lie” and then there were tweets from Palmer about a party…..at the palace. I think we’re going to see a lot of that.

    • Merricat says:

      Agreed

  23. bub244 says:

I truly hope this is the spark that ends the monarchy. Please.

  24. original minny says:

    4 Points:
    1st- Harry is a SOLDIER.
    and
2nd- Good soldiers are strategic and tactical
    which means
3rd- Harry understands that the victors WRITE the history- (Jobson knows this)
4th- Jobson also knows that Edward- Duke of Windsor is WILLIAM-ALL.OVER.AGAIN-FULL STOP
The RR and the BRF know this. If the monarchy implodes it will be because of Billy.

    • Thirtynine says:

Actually, your first point there is what I’m interested in. I don’t think I’d be surprised about anything the BRF do or have done now, however low. But Harry always talks about his years in the Army as critical for him on his journey. I’m really interested to hear about his tours (as much as he can share) and starting Invictus and Sentebale. I’ll definitely be buying.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Me too. Those are the interesting stories to hear. The Army years were critical for/to him. There was a lot of speculation about Harry returning to royal “life” after the army. Even Angela Levin speculated on it. Of course, once he married Meghan, she had to write/talk about how Meghan wouldn’t “let” Harry live outside the royal family because????. Then when they left, Levin had to write/talk about how Meghan wouldn’t “let” Harry return because????. B*tch (Levin) has always talked out of both sides of her completely clueless mouth. The “royal experts” probably have their own Lies of the Week Club and pay each other out for who comes up with the most lies. Questioning Harry & Meghan’s integrity in any way, shape or form is incredulous.

@original minny, love your points. Has there ever been a time that WillIago has complimented/praised Harry’s service & hard work/risk he showed while in the army?

  25. equality says:

It will be highly amusing if the RR’s start putting out some of the things about the family they think that Harry will reveal and his book does not detail any of it.

    • swirlmamad says:

Basically, exactly what happened with Finding Freedom, part 2. Only more crazed and unhinged since this book is officially coming from the horse’s mouth.

  26. Ashley says:

I’ll wait and see. The abdication of a nazi sympathizer King didn’t destroy the House of Windsor, Philip’s racist comments caught on tape didn’t destroy then, Diana revealing everything didn’t destroy anything as well.

Oprah’s interview made the royals pissed for 48 hrs but their popularity has already bounced back to pre-interview levels.

    • equality says:

It makes you wonder how awful something is that Harry knows since they think he can destroy them. But it’s still dumb because, unless they were all in on something, there is a line to the throne and one can abdicate like Edward.

      • Snuffles says:

I personally think there is MEGA dirt on William that they used Harry to distract from.

      • Jais says:

Agree @snuffles- I think Harry will discuss being a scapegoat and it will be a fine line. He can say it was to protect the heir but eventually people will ask what was the heir doing that needed so much protection. I don’t think Harry will explicitly out William’s secrets but there’s no way they won’t be implied. Perhaps it will get American journalists investigating in a way they haven’t before.

      • Babz says:

@Snuffles, I agree. William is up to his neck in dirt, both personal and financial. I still believe there was something terribly hinky about the Royal Foundation money that caused H&M to pull out and start Sussex Royal. There has been speculation that the C’s tried to fold the money from the Hubb Cookbook into the foundation for use elsewhere. There was no way in hell Meghan was going to let that happen. She cared about those women too much, and poured her soul into that project because she cared about them. She wasn’t going to let it get dragged down into murky Royal Foundation shenanigans. As for the personal dirt, William might as well be buried six feet deep in that mess.

      • Babz says:

@Jais, I have dreams of Ronan Farrow taking on that investigation! He would lay it completely bare to public scrutiny, and they’d never recover!

      • Jais says:

Right? @babz -Harry’s memoir will def get people talking. I’ve always read here in the comments about the cambridges trying to divert the cookbook funds away from the hub kitchen but does anyone have any links to news reports that allude to this? I’m not doubting it but am wondering what actually got reported at the time.

      • Babz says:

@Jais, I remember there being lots of talk about the cookbook funds on Twitter at the time. No specific links, but lots of chatter. It may have been mentioned here, too. That’s why I used the word “speculation .” It had the feel of “lots of smoke, etc.”

  27. TigerMcQueen says:

First, if the House of Windsor is worried the book will damage them, maybe just MAYBE they should have refrained from sh**ty behavior and be upset that the sh**ty behavior happened instead of being upset someone might say “guess what, this sh**ty behavior happened.”

Second, the book will probably not be one of ‘bombshells’ meant to harm the palace. Harry’s not going to throw dirt just to throw dirt (and for all the bombshells he tossed, he’s actually been quite gentle about it, it’s been on point about his journey, and it’s the RR that freaks out no matter what he says). The book is supposed to focus on Harry’s personal journey, and he’s talked about this some, this journey of both his mental health and also of his eventual recognition of his privilege as a wealthy WM and the own bias he had that he had to confront and work to change.

So while I don’t think this book will toss around bombshells meant to destroy Windsor, I DO think Harry will shed light on some incidents in the past. And these have the ability to do damage but only if the palace refuses to admit them or confront the fact they were wrong.

Specifically, the Nazi Brownshirt costume. And I think Harry will take full responsibility for his role in that and what he learned since then…but I also think it will finally become more widely known the role that Elegant Bill played in it, what Elegant Bill’s costume was, the whole grossness that was the ‘natives and colonials’ theme in the first place, and how he took the brunt of the blame to shield the heir from bad press.

Things like that. You know, things that put to lie the ‘very much not a racist family’ lololololol.

    • Ashley says:

Yeah this. If anything it will make people revisit things that maybe sorta seemed ok in the early to mid 2000s and be like “wtf?” And the royal families silence in that and never owning up to anything will be their own damage.

But Williams costume at that party was allegedly a lion. Unless that was a lie and Harry explains that, then i don’t know what he can expose. The worst is that William and their minders laughed at Harry’s costume and never told him to take it off?

      • JT says:

@Ashley From what has been said in this site for years, William’s costume wasn’t a lion, he was dressed up as a Zulu warrior. Hence, the natives theme. I don’t know if he was in full on black face, but he wasn’t a lion and that’s why they had to distract with Harry. The firm protected William, lied for him, and threw Harry under the bus. Again.

      • TigerMcQueen says:

Supposedly, Elegant Bill was in all black (including black tights) with animal skins draped over him. Lion my a**.

He also encouraged Harry’s costume and thought it was a great joke. This coincides with an era in which Elegant Bill and his friends were quite the partiers with rampant drinking and drug use (at Chuck’s home no less), and yes, Harry took part. Yet only Harry paid the price publicly for these excesses too.

      • Keri says:

Yeah. Apparently, it was reported that an employee at the costume shop witnessed Bulliam picking out and pressuring Harry to wear the Nazi costume. The employee later spilled to the tabloids. Penny junior is on TV record admitting that Harry was regularly used as the scapegoat to protect William.

I find it fascinating that the tabloids used to out Willie’s antics with glee, despite him being the heir. Back in 2015 there was an article by the tabloids outing Willie as impossible to work with and that Kate and Harry and the rest of the KP staff were forced to walk on eggshells around him. He apparently fired people left and right when they did not kowtow to him when he was in dictator mode. Fast forward to 2021 and the total press turnaround/about face is stunning.

      • Amanda says:

“Things that maybe sorta seemed ok in the early to mid 2000s” — a Nazi costume wasn’t “maybe sorta ok” to the vast majority of people anywhere just fifteen years ago. There was explosive outrage, as there should have been, and Harry issued a near-immediate apology.

It’s so weird to me people think 2005 was some ancient era before civil rights or something.

  28. Lizzie says:

Oh look, another rr getting attention on the backs of Harry and Meghan. Disgusting, what a low life.

  29. Aphra says:

    “Nowhere to hide”
Soooooo telling. I suppose they can hide behind the Queen’s solid gold piano if things get really rough.

  30. equality says:

Funny how they are still trying to make the Harry is like Edward thing happen still. Edward abdicated a throne; Harry left as 6th in line. Edward was still supported financially and Harry is not. It’s highly amusing how Harry has enough money, he shouldn’t have to write a book. Don’t they royals have enough money? Why do they need to keep coming up with new gin lines?
The funniest thing is that the RF themselves helped to make Harry the popular one by constantly throwing him into the press. He was the one who had his mistakes highlighted and learned better and apologized. Will got protected so was seen as boring.

  31. Curious says:

doubt he will write much about the royal family. i think he will be writing about his experience. how his life was from a child . he will talk about his mother . he have a lot to talk about about things he done . his growth and so on. and of course things that happened when Meghan enter his life. he will speak of the aides and the courtiers and the negative treatment he received . the press will be a part of his book. will he mention who said the part of the skin tone?. NO ,he promised never to tell a soul who said it .( he was smart in his wording by saying its not his grandparents , he left the public to make up their minds. since there is only Charles and William who had anger towards him and his wife.)Harry lived a busy life, working for the royals, and also doing his own work. for a man that young ,he got tons of things to write about in his life, meeting so many heartaches along the way. people that changed his life Invictus games open his eyes to how people are always trying to be their best no matter if they don’t have an arm or arms or a leg or legs . these things made an impact on his life.harry has also seen lots of suffering up close..i am happy for him to put his experience into words and in a memoir, cause that is his life. there are lots of things he did private with no camera around.

  32. Over it says:

Kaiser, you kill me.lolol. Robert who wrote a book about Philip and continues to make money off telling lies about Harry and Meghan now doesn’t see the point in damages to the institution. The only people from that institution that are allowed to be damaged and destroyed by any means necessary are Harry, Meghan and their children. Well fuck all of you. I hope he brings the slave starting institution to its knees. Sink or swim Windsors, sink or swim

  33. ElleE says:

Anyone see Annihilate Levino’s twt? lol. She calls herself Harry biographer in her official bio so she may be out of the grief porn biz with an announcement of a forthcoming memoir.

So much of the Royal family fan fic universe depends on this really, the BRF family never telling their own stories – they spin their Wattpad fan fics unchecked.

Harry’s book will be the Oprah interview x1,0000.

They were so worried about Meghan, but just like the Oprah interview, where Meghan was like any married-in with a supportive spouse: “she made me cry but I think that she is a good person” and Harry was like, “My Dad stopped taking my calls, cut me off and then my grandmother’s secretary told us to turn around when we were on our way there from the airport after a long flight and she invited us to stay, yeah so…” This is his family, he knows everything and he is just like them: he is kind like his mother, he is ruthless like his father, he is political, he is brave and tough, he is British and he married an American (and this is impt.) bc he has an affinity for what being an American represents (this goes back to his mom? Obamas?) This makes him something that the BRF, RR and P.Morgan has never seen – he was there all along, they just believed their own “mentally unstable, questionable parentage, just like his mother*” fan fic, to their detriment.

*they like to question Diana’s parentage too!

  34. (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

They never THOUGHT Harry would go full nuclear winter and blow it all up. So they felt free to write whatever they wanted to gaslight Harry: “Recollections may vary”. “No one ever said that”. “We are very much NOT a racist family”. Mmhmmm….

Lots of wine, popcorn, and a biiiiiiiiiiig couch waiting and ready to go. Anyone want in? 😄

    • booboocita says:

I’ll bring Lindt chocolates. Or should I bring Cadbury or some other UK brand?

    • Jay says:

If the lead up to the Oprah interview is anything to go by, we can probably start in on that popcorn early – this family has a history of panicking and leaking stories that end up as hilarious self owns.

I’m just imagining each of the palaces and their various staff members frantically running through all the terrible things they might have said to Harry or done to Harry, and how they can best shift the blame to another branch of the family OR try to hurt Harry’s credibility (but what about when he wore that Nazi uniform, huh?), all unintentionally drawing a big bullseye around their own actions. I have a lot of faith in their ability to be an utter clown show. It’s gonna be a wild ride!

🍿( I like to put chocolate raisins in my popcorn, but I’ll get my own bucket if that’s not your thing…)

    • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

It’s all good! I’m ready when you are! 😄.

Jay, try Trader Joe’s chocolate covered blueberries in with popcorn… heavenly!! I’ll share mine so you can taste 😊

  35. Merricat says:

Perhaps most amusing of all, the tighter the rota/royal family clutch those pearls, the more people will buy the book, just to find out.

  36. NotSoSimpleTaylor says:

Do the idiots managing The Windsor family realize that this reaction coming out only makes people want to read the book more? They’re already scrambling to hide things and Harry hasn’t said a damned word yet.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

NNSTaylor, I find it amusing as hell. They went all out before FF was published, then they went all out before the Oprah interview, and now it appears they are going all out before H’s book is published. And every time, they do damage to themselves. How many times do these people do the same thing with the same result before they realize that what they do doesn’t work? Wow, doesn’t anyone in those palaces see beyond the end of their nose?

  37. Bettyrose says:

Looking forward to getting the release date so I can schedule a vacation day.

  38. Athena says:

The Windsors will all tell on themselves in anticipation of what Harry will say. Someone will spill the beans about the skin color conversations only for it not to be covered in Harrry’s book.
As someone mentioned this reaction is a guarantee of success for the book. When are these people going to learn?

  39. Chill says:

The monarchy is reaping what it has sown.

  40. Rnot says:

While I’d love for this to be “Harry’s Book of Receipts” I think it’ll probably be more introspective. The mere existence of the book is likely to provoke the royals/royalists into defensive explanations that are actually confirmations. They can’t help telling on themselves and now they’ll have a whole year to do so.

The book may also be a form of insurance. If the bullying investigation isn’t transparent then the book drops the receipts. Or it may be a vehicle to drop all the receipts on the media after the Mail lawsuit is finalized. I think Harry still has a years old lawsuit pending related to phone hacking too. Using the book to expose the media would align with his work on misinformation.

  41. booboocita says:

At this point, I’m half hoping that the book is less about the RF (“I’ve said what I wanted to say”) and more about his experiences with the RR rats. “Who is that Angela Levin weirdo who speaks and writes about me as if she knows me?” “What is the odd obsession of Piers Morgan with my wife? Leave her alone! She’s mine, not yours!” I have to wonder if fear of him speaking about British media is half the reason for the outrage.

  42. PoppedBubble says:

What I find interesting (along with what everyone has said) is this sentence, “If Harry, which seems inevitable, goes into detail about mental health issues involving his wife and alleged racism at the heart of the royal family…”

So M&H talk about about their mental health issues and it’s taken as fact, while being called liars about everything else, but they talk about racism and it’s only referred to as “alleged.” We see you.

  43. TheOriginalMia says:

Lordy…the RRs/BM will release more tidbits on the royals than what we’ll see in Harry’s autobiography. I doubt he’ll spend much time spilling tea on that bunch, but they will most definitely leak their own dirty laundry over the next year.

    • L4Frimaire says:

I hope he fully excoriates the KP staff and their leaking and nastiness. Also a few choice journalists, especially Will’s go to’s. Also some of the info about phone tapping and private investigators.

      • Jais says:

Yes, I really hope he discusses what happened at KP. Not sure how the legal stuff of that works. For example, if he says, Jason Knauf did something, he would need proof, yeah?

  44. TabithaD says:

It’s odd, isn’t it, that everyone’s first reaction is to say how “damaging” this will be.
It makes you wonder what on earth they’re scared of. There must have been some truly awful stuff going on behind the scenes.

  45. L4frimaire says:

The royals could have gone the Cold War approach, given them space and grace, but no, they had to keep poking the bear.

  46. jazzbaby1 says:

Already today a PR flack mentioned that Charles is worried about what H might say about Camilla. Huh. What could THAT possibly be about, I wonder?

    • Rnot says:

Maybe Charles is just worried about any reminder of the pain that their affair caused to his wife and young children. He’s focused on making Camilla queen and he’s invested a LOT of time and effort into rehabbing their image.

    • Eating Popcorn says:

I seem to be a constant Chaz defender (?) but I am guessing TOB through that out there. I don’t believe Charles is worried at all. Chaz has survived tampon gate – Harry’s book will definitely not come close to that scandalous. Whatever Harry says the RR will criticize.
      Harry: The sky is blue
Daily Fail: Harry & Meghan continue to make money off of the sky, Prince Baldington is enraged, Kate, who has never put a foot wrong, is the rock on which Baldington relies

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Eating Popcorn, I would change the last few words: Kate, who has never put a foot wrong, is the rock on which Baldington sets is drink.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

@Eating Popcorn, I find myself in the defending Charles camp too. He’s been through worse and he of all of them risked his reputation to be with the woman he loved. More so than Edward who abdicated- to me. Charles hurt people badly on that road and people hate/dislike him for it. But, he did it. Charles understands more than people give him credit for.imo He’ll do things that will p$ss people off and will follow the grey men’s protocol for the sake of the monarchy which I think is also foolish. Will & Kate have been the ones who have had the jealousy issues all along. KP (Will/Kate) is where the problems started with their jealousy & lack of work ethic.
LOL at your blue sky comment. I’ve been blue skied is a phrase I’ve used. Very similar to your example is something that happened to me. Baldington relies on the fact that Kate & Carole are so enamored with the “prestige” of the Royal Family, that they are willing to do anything & everything asked of them. No integrity with those three at all.

  47. Catherine says:

Hugely damaging? I dare not hope.

  48. Stelly says:

Lol! The interview wasn’t enough to get back at those bitches. We’re here for it Harry! Burn it all down.

  49. adri3nne says:

The royal family had 4 years to work with the Sussexes and fix this situation. They chose to smear them and run them out of the country instead. They can’t have possibly thought Harry and Meghan (but especially Harry) would just quietly walk away and never talk about what they did. Looks like those chickens are coming home to roost and I am here for it.

  50. equality says:

Replying to deleted off-the wall comment.

  51. jferber says:

The header photo shows a furious Harry as he and Meghan are ignored by William and Kate (and maybe Charles and Camilla?) on Commonwealth Day. Meghan is smiling pleasantly and Kate looks like an ice queen/ Disney villainess in that awful red hat and dress. To contrast this look with her maniacal laugh is scary. As Malcolm X famously said when Kennedy was shot, the chickens have come home to roost. The damage this horrible family inflicted on this beautiful couple will now rightfully come home to them. They richly deserve it.

  52. Noor says:

I thought the British Royal Family was already in self inflicted mode for several years.

1.Prince William threw Prince Harry out of Kensington Palace while his wife Meghan is pregnant.
2, Prince Harry is “exiled” to Frogmore cottage, cut adrift and isolated.
3 There were Palace talks of shipping Prince Harry and his wife and child to Africa for several years
and …the list can go on

  53. Shannon says:

Wow.., there’s a lot of fear going on in that DM article. Lots of fear.

Interesting, I didn’t think Harry would publish a memoir until QEII died. But, it’s incredibly strategic to release it before. The Queen is still driving a car, which was a deliberate photo op on her part. A subtle message she’s still at the reins. Clearly, she needs better PR if she’s going to get her message across, but the fact she tried (or someone did) is telling.

  54. Carrie says:

But … who leaked the news? How did pg. 6 get the scoop?????
