Prince William is ‘increasingly concerned’ about the Queen with this Andrew mess

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have already traveled up to Scotland for their summer holiday. They rarely stay at the big Balmoral house – they stay in Birkhall for the most part, I think. From what I’ve seen of the British reporting, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have not traveled to Scotland yet. They rarely spend much more than a week in Scotland during the summer months, and some years, they’ve gotten away with only visiting for two or three days. Meaning, William is not at Balmoral with his father and his uncle Andrew. William is once again not really being included in the larger “crisis meetings” going down about “what to do about Andrew” and specifically, what to do about Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit. William is in the wind, perhaps waist-high in some rose bushes for all we know.

My point? William is pretty desperate to be included in the conversation about the Andrew situation, but I don’t think he is actually being included in much of anything. William tried to insert himself by pushing a story about how he wants to live at Royal Lodge. William also tried to latch onto the reporting about how no one likes Andrew’s lawyers. And we’re finally at this: William is very concerned about how the Andrew situation is affecting the Queen!

Prince Charles and Prince William are understood to be ‘increasingly concerned’ about the impact the lurid sex abuse allegations surrounding Prince Andrew will have on the Queen. The Duke of York has privately told his family the latest development in the scandal involving a woman who has accused him of “rape in the first degree” in the United States, “could take years to resolve”.

The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge, along with other senior royals, have become “exasperated” with the long running saga, royal sources have revealed. The future Kings are set to implore Andrew, 61, to “take immediate action” to address the worrying issues threatening to engulf the monarchy.

Charles, 71 and William, 39, are understood to be worried about the nature of the developing scandal as it threatens to engulf the monarchy at a time when the Queen has endured the burden of having to live the majority of the last 17 months in isolation, as well as mourn the passing of her beloved husband of 73 years Philip in April.

A royal source said: “First and foremost, Charles and William are united; there will never be a return to public life for Andrew. This has only been compounded with the lawsuit lodged this week. But they, along with members, are undoubtedly increasingly concerned about the affect all of this turmoil could have on the Queen. She has been through a great deal over many, many recent months and this is once again a most unwelcome distraction.”

“The family also have serious and growing doubts about the way such serious allegations have been dealt with by Andrew and his legal team, who seem to be at complete odds with one another on how to respond. Andrew has told them the latest developments could take years to resolve which has done nothing to settle the feeling of alarm.”

[From The Daily Mirror]

It feels like the bare minimum to say “we’re taking a stand on this, no return to public life for Andrew!” But honestly, they *do* need to say that, because if they left the Queen to her own devices, Andrew would have been back to public life a year and a half ago. The reason there’s a growing hysteria in the reporting around “the Andrew situation,” with various palaces leaking different stories is because all of these people are incredibly incompetent. People are genuinely trying to talk some sense into the tone-deaf Queen. I’m just not sure William is all that involved.

Bully Boy had better be worried about his own doings.

William is out for William. If Andrew’s mess takes out the monarchy Baldimort is jobless.

    • LaraW” says:

Honestly I think this is the issue. William looks out for William. However, he’s also proven himself to be incredibly short sighted, prefers preemptive PR strikes that have no strategic value, has no understanding of diplomacy (let alone law) and most importantly, is beholden to the press. If he were included in any talks, he would be leaking EVERYTHING to the press because out of all the royals, they clearly have him tethered to the invisible contract.

If William stuck his Other Brotherness into the matter, I would not be surprised if he ended making some kind of diplomatic mess with the US. And say some incredibly insensitive things about sexual assault. His wife thought it was a good idea to use Sarah Everard’s memorial service as a PR opp. William joked about covid and racism. I don’t think he’d find it difficult to say something that enrages every side in the circular room also.

      • Becks1 says:

Agree with everything you said here LaraW. William is looking out for William so he’s looking at this completely through that lens (to be fair I think Charles is also concerned about this only bc of the possible impact on his reign, hes not concerned about Virginia at all.) But given William’s reliance on the press and how he has nothing Sussex-wise to give them now, it seems reasonable to assume that he would be leaking information about Andrew and any discussions and it seems clear that the royals know that and so he is deliberately being excluded.

And that’s not even getting into the diplomatic side of this or just the general PR aspect. Who can’t imagine William or Kate doing or saying something that just makes this whole thing worse for the royals?

      • Sofia says:

        I agree

      • Dee says:

This. We have to stop giving these people credit for being smart and strategic. They are neither. Add in a lack of compassion and you’re looking at selfish, greedy, self righteous walking anachronisms.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

He doesn’t want the actual job, all he wants is the wealth and power that comes with it. Andrew is affecting his future revenue stream.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Digital Unicorn, hell, even TOBB could care less about his wife and his children for that matter. It’s all me, me, ME!!!! They are just freeloaders to him to throw under the bus at his convenience. I can’t stand the sight of him!!

Plus, we all know that Chuck is perfectly aware that his vile son is spilling his beans to the royal rats all to his benefit solely, it has been apparent for years!!

      • Christine says:

Honestly, at this point I am wondering what would actually change for Wills. He already phones it in, and the Windsor family is richer than God. The aristocrats he considers friends will still bow and scrape to him, just like in other countries where “royalty” has zero power, but it is still reported on, and drooled over.

Seriously, how would his life change, other than the FFK bit not being a thing anymore? He’s still going to do the barest minimum, and be really rich.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

      “William is out for William”

Oh yeah. This greedy TOBB tipped his hand by saying HE WANTS Royal Lodge. That’s not going to sit well with Ol’ Brenda. She is paying all of Pedo’s bills at this point. I think the only liquidity Pedo has is his allowance from Mummy, and what he can still whine for or scam off her “name” (£300K Bentley *cough*)

I don’t think Virginia is going to “settle” for anything other than her day in court, even if it’s settled in “absentia” because Pedo is afraid to show up.

SO NICE to see the BM has started looking/asking about this.

      • Harper says:

I agree that William shot himself in the foot by telling Wooten that he thinks he deserves Royal Lodge instead of Andrew. By going public, he gave Andrew and the Queen enough time to do whatever legal maneuvering is needed to ward off Bulliam’s “it’s mine, mine, mine!” tantrum.

I can picture the Queen, Andrew, and Fergie sitting around having their pre-dinner drinks last week at Balmoral and laughing about William thinking he is getting Royal Lodge. The Queen doesn’t seem to have much respect/interest in William; at best she seems to tolerate him. He is definitely not her favorite or even on the shortlist. Right now I suspect she and the Yorks will work together to keep William from getting his claws on the Lodge. It was the Queen Mother’s home and I bet Elizabeth wants to control whose possession it falls into.

  3. Pao says:

They are concerned for the queen but not the victim?

  4. Amy Bee says:

William is not concerned about the Queen, he’s concerned that Andrew could take down the monarchy. I think the Palace is under a lot of pressure from the press to leak information on Andrew, hence these stories from aides about him needing to speak out.

    • LMR says:

I do not want to defend Andrew here, but I hope he DOES drag the monarchy down with him. Andrew is exactly what the monarchy deserves.

I hope he digs his heels in on his defense, only communicating with his legal team. I hope the queen depletes as many Duchy funds as possible by paying Andy’s legal bills. His “brother” and the courtiers can choke on their own bile.

  5. Seraphina says:

I am just here to say that the second pic of Willy, the one where he looks like a Tic Tac is stuck on his upper lip – kinda sums him up well. I pic is worth a thousand words indeed.

    • Mich says:

That one and the anniversary pics Kate chose to release to the public (where she looks gorgeous but he looks absolutely terrible) make me laugh every time.

      • notasugarhere says:

Where she’s hyperphotoshopped and has a death grip on the tips of his fingers? I wouldn’t call that a good look.

      • swirlmamad says:

Photoshopped within an inch of her life to the extent she looks like a plastic Barbie doll. He just looks like death warmed over. I too am laughing that those were the “best” pics.

    • nina says:

With all his money, he couldn’t find a dentist who could have fitted him with a better suited implant? Does he ever look at that picture and goes: “Hmmm? I wonder if I can find someone to fix that.”

He already has a butter face, the ill fitting implant makes it worse.

      • Robin Samuels says:

        He bought yellow implants!

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

ANY competent dentist would’ve told him at the VERY least, you replace the TWO front teeth together, to keep the color matching. And *best* scenario would be to veneer the whole front to keep the color of his teeth uniform.

Then again, considering how this family tries to NOT pay for anything, or pay the least amount possible (lodging/hotels, vacations, airplane flights, cars, etc), I wouldn’t doubt this is the cheapest solution he could get, so he took it.

  6. Harper says:

Is it saying that Andrew and his legal team are at complete odds? Then surely Andrew is seeking to fight it and his lawyers want to settle and end it quietly. Or, Andrew’s plan is to avoid ever being served with the lawsuit and his lawyers say that is not how it’s going to happen. I wonder if he’s even been served yet as there was an article that said the legal team was waiting at Windsor to serve him last Monday but he bopped off to Balmoral instead.

    • Mac says:

It’s so obvious he should settle. Having this drag on for years would be untenable for the BRF.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

He will probably never set foot off a royal property, in fear of being served.

    • Jaded says:

He hasn’t been served. He’s so surrounded by courtiers and security that it’s impossible to put the paperwork into his hands. If someone else were to receive it on his behalf it would mysteriously disappear. No, he’ll eventually have to settle in absentia or this will drag on for years. In fact I’d like it if it dragged on for years because it will continue to tarnish the already dirty reputations of most of the BRF and will ramp up even more once Maxwell’s trial starts.

    • nic919 says:

You can get an order for subtituted service if it becomes obvious that the Defendant is avoiding service. I suspect that his lawyers will end up accepting service on his behalf.

  7. Scorpion says:

I lovw how they tell on themselves. Heir Force 1 & 2 care deeply about the optics. Nothing more, nothing less. They give a shit about public perception and not the victims. They want Noncydrew to throw himself under the bus to save the institution from the reputational hit, it’s been receiving….

  8. Eurydice says:

I’d say the victims are more than exasperated with the “long-running saga.”

And if I were Charles, I’d want this whole mess cleared up while it’s still on Elizabeth’s watch. Screw Mummy’s feelings. The last thing he needs is to step into the kingship with Andrew hanging around his neck.

  9. Susan says:

For once, I am in agreement with William. This Andrew cover up stuff does NOT look good on any of them, and hanging together at the summer castle with their heads in the sand doesn’t help things.

  10. Here4tea says:

William is only increasingly concerned about William.

  11. Heidi says:

The part of this meltdown I enjoy the most is the fact that none of this would have happened if Andrew would have said:

“Yes, I slept with her, but I had no idea she didn’t do that voluntarily. Here is a shitload of money and now keep quiet.”

He really thought he was untouchable – and once you start lying, you have to stick to the original story.

    • myjobistoprincess says:

I agree he thought he was untouchable. But to say “Yes, I slept with her, but I had no idea she didn’t do that voluntarily. Here is a shitload of money and now keep quiet.”: is I think the worst scenario that could have happened. At this time, what we need is public denounciation so that victims no longer get paid for silence, behind closed doors. Abusers still think they only need status and money to get away with sh*t like this. victims need to get compensation in the light of day and the rapists, abusers, rich or poor need to be held accountable in the light of day also, for all to see, so that our girls, our boys, dont go through this abuse and arent scared of coming forward. His ego/denial and Giuffre’s determination is what i hope will set Giuffre free and set an example also.

  12. A says:

Didn’t a little girl find a sword in a lake a few years ago? I’m just saying, British people, you have a very solid option waiting in the wings if y’all decide it’s time for a monarchical update.

  13. Merricat says:

So is William suggesting the queen is no longer competent?

  14. Woke says:

Honestly, I always thought it’s a mix of the queen protecting her son and the establishment protecting him because he has dirt on powerful. They could have done the harshest thing, stripping him of his HRH, military honors, and patronage and send him in exil in some remote location but they were all arrogant enough to think it would just go away. It would have be seen as them distancing themselves from him. Now they stuck with either show unity or every court trying to distance itself and it’s actually hilarious.

  15. Here4Tea says:

That was in Sweden, sadly. Here’s an article about her. It is a joy to read. She is quite regal!
    https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/oct/19/experience-pulled-a-1500-year-old-sword-lake-saga-vanecek

    • Izzy says:

There was also one in England, apparently.

    • Lili says:

Aww i love the story, written from her perspective that is cool

    • Ann says:

Isn’t she full of beans! That’s quite a story. But I wouldn’t want my kid touching that rusty thing either….looks a little dangerous. Amazing.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

I love that story! It is a joy to read. So many good parts in it.

      Loved this-

“People on the internet are saying I am the queen of Sweden, because in the legend of King Arthur, he was given a sword by a lady in a lake, and that meant he would become king. I am not a lady – I’m only eight – but it’s true I found a sword in the lake. I wouldn’t mind being queen for a day, but when I grow up I want to be a vet. Or an actor in Paris.”

      I am not a lady-I’m only eight…dying at that.

  16. Jay says:

William is “exasperated” with the criminal doings of his uncle in the same way he’s “bored” of racism – only insomuch as it’s something that makes his life slightly less comfortable, and only if he thinks he can get a pat on the head for mentioning what should be obvious to all.

    • Merricat says:

It’s revealing, isn’t it, that William has feelings of boredom and exasperation regarding issues that most people associate with more emotional depth? He is inconvenienced by the pain of racism and sex-trafficking. Super.

      • notasugarhere says:

I’d posit he feels inconvenienced by having to pretend to care about things like racism and sex-trafficking. No doubt he feels quite put upon by the stress of the playacting, and being ‘forced’ to go out and put on a show. As someone wrote yesterday, he and Kate are the same person when it comes to all of this. Shallow as a puddle.

    • Shawna says:

That jumped out at me too. Gives real credibility to it coming straight from PWT.

  17. Shirley says:

I don’t understand why anyone would think that William wouldn’t be part of any discussions about Andrew. He is next in line to take over if anything should happen to PC.
There are more negative comments here about William than there are about Andrew who is a vile person that should be sent to jail for his actions.
Meghan is not the only person that has been hurt by the Monarchy. She appears to be doing well.
The victims of Andrew are the people that should receive sympathy.

    • Merricat says:

Lol. Who here is being unsympathetic to Andrew’s victims? We can’t wait for Andrew to show some kind of accountability. Meanwhile, William has been incredibly vile to his sister in law, so no, no sympathy here.

    • notasugarhere says:

William is never part of any real work or discussion. He always gets his hacks to spin stories about how he’s engaged, how he’s taking charge and handling things. When in reality, as Kaiser writes, he’s waist deep in the neighboring rose bushes and doing nothing to solve anything but his own immediate desires.

    • Over it says:

Because Shirley, william doesn’t have discussions, he stamps his feet and throws tantrums like the bullying man-baby he is , cause he always only does things to get what he wants. If he was doing it for the real victims in this case, the innocent women that suffered, then I could understand where you were coming from. However he isn’t. Willy only cares About Willy and it’s because of that behavior why he couldn’t put his brother feelings for his brother happiness ahead of his own needs and be a decent human being. The same way now he isn’t thinking of Andrew victim’s, he is thinking how this affects him becoming the big bald king

    • Jaded says:

Because William is a classic narcissist. He’s a bull-headed, self-obsessed and utterly useless human being who lied and leaked and bullied his own brother and SIL via the tabloids out of the BRF and the country. He doesn’t work, he only pays the minimal amount of lip service to his patronages, his diplomatic skills are completely lacking and his marriage is in shambles. All he thinks about when it comes to his vile Uncle is “how’s this going to affect me”.

      • Kalana says:

He’s a Trump part two in the making. I really think William is going to be a mess that makes Andrew seem mild, as he becomes Prince of Wales and eventually King because no one will get him under control.

      • Robin Samuels says:

Where do I send your trophy for this fine comment?

    • RoyalBlue says:

Welcome to the site Shirley. Baldimort is excluded from major discussions and decisions and for the Monarchy’s sake, he should not be invited to the table because he can’t control himself and is usually incandescent with rage.

He is also very lazy and hasn’t earned his stripes as yet to sit at the big boys’ table.

    • Maria says:

And Harry and Meghan were also victims of William’s campaign to endanger them and minimize them and smear them. Remember, Meghan almost took her own life while pregnant and William played a role in that.

We talk about William more because William is painted so well in the British media. The perception of him being as complicit in this system as Andrew hasn’t caught up yet. Anyone who needs it established for them that Andrew is horrible hasn’t been paying attention to him for the past 30 years.

  18. Sunnyvale says:

Ofcourse he is😏this fool is worried (as he should be) because old frail granny’s whole image is being tarnished by her continued association with her pedo son. The institution is only surviving on that facade. Billy was hoping to use her to gain some PR points(“the dutiful grandson who is selfishly NOT leaving his frail granny who’s in her last years..) he’s just worried because he too has skeletons in his closet..

  19. Robin Samuels says:

Prince Wiliam is all about Prince William and ascending the throne is his only focus. He’s grooming Prince George, staying close to the Britsh Clown Car and the Tory Party. He may need a larger home to store all the skeletons he’s accumulated over the years. I have zero sympathies for the Un Royals. Karma truly has her work cut out for her with this motley crew. God Save the People of the United Kingdom because the Queen believes her wealth will save her and her offspring.

  20. Reia says:

William is making things worse look at his own PR team. They respond to bait and have really thin skin to comments. William needs to stay away from this but won’t because he wants to be the shiny knight here.

  21. Likeyoucare says:

William isnt involve during H&M royal exit because the rota mention he didnt want too as his feeling got hurt.
Now, maybe no one want him to be there. He must be not qualified to make any decisions, or no one believe or trust him, or there must be something wrong in his head.
