Since the start of Bennifer 2.0 in the spring, I repeatedly said that I wanted them to last until the Met Gala, which is next Monday. But that was before Ben Affleck was scheduled to appear at the Venice Film Festival to premiere The Last Duel, with Matt Damon and Jodie Comer. Some of us theorized that Venice might be the site of Ben and J.Lo’s first red carpet appearance of their relationship revival. Back in the Bennifer 1.0 days, they walked tons of red carpets together, with Ben growing more and more orange and groomed with every carpet. Nowadays, it’s different. And yet still the same!!
Ben and J.Lo have just arrived, today, in Venice. The Last Duel is scheduled to premiere on Friday, which I think we can assume will be Bennifer’s First Red Carpet (in 2021). I like the pacing on this – back together in April, vacations in the US and abroad, yacht butt-rubbing and now this, red carpet official. Ben seems very pleased about it too, that he’s got his girlfriend there to support HIS film. He looks like the cat who got the cream.
I can’t believe we’re truly getting Bennifer In Venice for their first red carpet. I’m so happy!!! And of course J.Lo is wearing white lace. How… bridal. Look at that diamond bracelet too! Is that the one Ben gave her years ago?

Post-Labor Day and we still have Bennifer 2.0. I’m happy.
I am happy for them. Looking back, J-Lo handled the breakup with Ben in a very dignified manner, even though he behaved very badly. I think she has always loved Ben. They seem like they are good friends too, protective of each other, and their children. I want them to get married!
She married Marc Anthony three months after they broke up lol. I don’t know if I count that as “dignified.” She can’t be alone for a second. I understand he cheated on her with strippers or whatever but she ran straight into the arms of another man. I understand she was likely heartbroken, but that is her MO. She always has a jump off.
IIRC, she went to a psychic after she and Ben broke up and the psychic told her she was going to meet the man of her dreams or something like that. So all she had to do was cover any glaring holes with pink gauze when she met Marc Anthony.
Those shoes look so painful. Wasn’t she in an ad recently in Venice too with un-walkable shoes? I just can’t understand how we went from Louis XV wanting to elevate his height and his stance a few centimeters to this.
They are the prototype of couple where the woman goes all in with make-up, designer clothes, mild face enhancements, stilettos and the guy is dressed like he has a relaxed day at the cool office and a back tattoo.
Actually I was thinking those shoes look comfortable and well-fitting, as much as is possible with stilettos at least. The worst is when there’s a gap between the arch and sole. I looked at the way her shoes are fitting her feet and thought — that’s what money can do.

I had a heffalump slob of a boyfriend who made lots more money than me, who had all sorts of ideas of what was sexy for women to wear. I remember asking him once what he wore when he wanted to feel sexy and seeing the blank look on his face.
I actually like dressing up and remembering wearing fishnet stockings and heels on a date and spending about $100 on both. With his higher income he spent zero, showed up in jeans and a t shirt, we of course split the dinner bill because women’s equality, and he was too cheap to take a cab home so I was hobbled in these heels I couldn’t walk in.
Jen has said that dressing up and choosing looks is one of the most fun things about her “job” and I think that’s great. But it irks the living daylights out of me that women spend to the high heels on shoes that you can’t walk one city block in without pain and risk to life and limb.
Yay! I am so much more excited about a red carpet event with these two than pap pics of them shopping or something lol.
The Duchess of Cambridge should take note – that is how to wear a lace dress without looking like you’re wearing a doily. Jennifer looks great.
I was going to say doesn’t look bridal to me more lace tablecloth. And funnily enough very conservative (except those achy looking shoes). Not that I miss her crop tops. But it’s not the red carpet yet so we’ll see what she comes up with. Just I hope they don’t suck all the attention from Jodie Comer since I think she is the real lead of the film. Ben (I think)just has a small part as a blonde royal.
Agree! But Jennifer Lopez is just innately more stylish than Duchess Buttons so I think this dress on Kate would be the usually doily fare.

She’s richer than him but he’s more respected than her in the industry, the guy got 2 oscars, some golden globes, baftas and all the most prestigious films awards. Jlo always wanted that kind of acknowledgement and respect. I think she started well with selena and out of sight and if she had kept doing those kind of movies instead of rom coms she would have been taken more seriously
Do you actually buy white male merit? Venice means more? Paltrow, Matt, Jen L. have what they have because they are white. Period. There is nothing more to it.

Yeah I agree. I don’t understand the “he hasn’t look that good in years” comments. He was a mess in 2017-2019 but he has been looking great since 2020 at least. It’s just sometimes he’s well groomed and dressed and sometimes he doesn’t care

Are they doing this in Venice and not the met gala because that is filled with influencers this year and at the sane event they’ll seem even more old school and out of touch etc? I do wonder if that was a factor here

Ben I don’t think has ever been to the Met Gala. Doubt he would go honestly. He’s not a fashion guy. That’s more JLs love. If he goes, I’ll be kind of shocked. He wants to be known as the serious actor/writer/director, not as the guy who goes to the Met Gala.

Some people say that because Jodie Comer is the lead in the movie and hopes for an Oscar campaign it’s not appropriate for Bennifer to debut their relationship there and outshine her. But I for once think it’s totally fine for Bennifer red carpet debut to be at Venice Film Fest, cause even though Ben’s role in the movie is relatively small, it’s very much his movie too, he wrote the script with Matt and Nicole Holofcener and I’m sure they hope for an Oscar campaign too. Besides Ben is also an executive producer on the movie. So I say bring it all Bennifer 😁
Also Jen and Arod red carpet debut was at the Met Gala a few years ago so it’s better that Bennifer would make their debut at the Film Festival.
