I had tickets for Elton’s tour the first time around it was announced and, I am still salty I did not go. Still. And its been almost a year.
Does dating someone who makes you look even more odd a type. Because if it is, Renee has it.
The only dude that didn’t was the musician with the killer hair she quietly dated for a few years. I liked that coupling.
Why are Renee and Ant an odd couple? I think they’re both very good looking and he seems to be a nice person, he does good things for people on his show, right? Go Renee! She’s had some crap relationships in her lifetime I think.
As for Bill Maher. Ugh. I just recently finally broke up with him. I really loved the premise of his show and the guests are usually very smart and the conversations are honest and thought provoking most of the time. But he is NOT funny. I had to finally stop with his last rant about fat people. He pretty much thinks they’re the ones who are dying of covid and it’s their fault anyway. As a ‘fat’ person, it gets pretty tiring being constantly told through media that your life isn’t worth as much as the next person. We’re here, we exist, we have relationships and we need clothes just like the rest of you.
He’s so much more like Trump than he’d ever admit. No wonder they have such a love/hate relationship.
He’s also a misogynistic, racist a-hole who loves to talk about women’s and racial issues, but never lets the woman or person of colour talk about it without interrupting or talking over them.
Jessica’s jumpsuit has 80s vibe to me. I may have worn one similar back then…
No one is talking about how Renee doesn’t look like Herself anymore so I guess her face bounced back from whatever she did a few years ago. And I fail to see why ‘Instagram official’ even matters when you’ve been papped together constantly like a those 2. Or for that matter whether ‘red carpet official’ means anything When you’ve been papped and on IG together before.
She looks like Renee Zellweger.
She resembles Renée strongly.
Something happened and her looks did change and no one would talk about it. In fact, they avoided the topic of asked on odd ways. It was very strange and never got addressed directly or with any denials. Just avoided in ways that left more questions.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Renee. She wasn’t that classic bombshell beauty the studios were looking for, and i feel like she absorbed that negativity (more than most) and I really hate that. She’s always had an air of sadness and vulnerability that—while it works in her favor, acting wise—I’ve always hated what it probably did to her internally. Then again maybe I am internalizing her role in White Oleander. She was AMAZING in that, as were all the actors.
I’ve always thought the dramatic weight gain/loss of the Bridget Jones movies did a number on her body and metabolism, which she tried to address with facial tweaks, and this was the result. She’s still a good looking woman, but she looks (IMO) very different from her younger self. (and I’ve also always wondered why she was the chosen for the role. Bridget Jones wasn’t heavy set; she just wasn’t hollywood thin, so plenty of actresses could have fit the role without dramatic weight gain, even perhaps a British actress. What was the story with that anyway?)
Yes, I always wondered the same thing about why they had her gain so much weight for the role. Having read the book, I had the impression that Bridget wasn’t overweight, just obsessed with the scale and how many calories she consumed every day. The way she was portrayed wasn’t at all how I pictured her.
If I remember, she was supposed to be about 135 lbs? I’m 5’3” and that weight on me is around US size 6 or 8 and I feel good. But it’s all relative. Renee Zellweger has such a small build that on her 135 lbs looked chubby. (Honestly after the pandemic I’d love to be back in my size 8 jeans. Working on it).
Betty rose tons of British and Australians play Americans so why not an American play a Brit? Renee however is naturally twig thin, it would have been easier for her to have a fat suit than gaining 30’pounds herself. Just because men gain and lose for roles doesn’t mean women need to. She had the perfect self deprecating vibe for the role though. I thought she was great.
@Lena – That’s true, but the U.S. film industry is bigger than the British and Australian industries combined. I think she was fine as Bridget Jones, don’t get me wrong, although English accents are hyper-regional and I always wonder if Americans pull if off well to English ears. There are some British actors (cough cough Sean Connery) who never managed to learn an American accent.
She wasn’t even overweight in the Bridget Jones movies. She looked perfectly normal, just not like the Size 2 she had been before or that her character wanted to be.
IMO she looked different for a while, and looks like herself again. When she looked different before, I thought she had some eye surgery to help her vision, but I guess not.
When Bill Maher said “Nxxxxx” I was done. To justify as something that comedians don’t have control over is just ridiculous. Everything about him screams narcissist a-hole. He’s not the only smart person in the world. We can listen to other people and survive!

I haven’t been paying attention as to what makes them odd. Jessica’s jumpsuit I was really feeling until I scrolled down. Like from the hip/crotch down it takes a left turn. But the color and the top buttons, I like that.

People don’t do enough research on Pratt. He really is a piece of work. He isn’t your average bigoted white boy. I think Celebitchy was one of the few places where I found people criticising him and not drinking the PR kool-aid.
Yeah, I am not going to give Pratt any passes. He seems like a douchey frat boy.
As for Bill Maher, I don’t always find him funny but sometimes he’s great and I still appreciate his great bits, the best one being the rant where he calls Trump voters “Whiney Little Bitches.”
I like Renee and Ant together. She doesn’t have a type and I like that. Good luck to them!Chris Pratt isn’t the worst ever but his appeal is that he appeals to middle , Christian America. I’m from there and they eat that good ol boy, flag and Bible waving shit up. IMO it’s all pandering to that base and it works. I think Bill Maher has good points and does a good job of calling out BS. His guests are interesting to me too. Guess that means I’m not part of the woke Twitter crowd he goes off on lol.

Always liked Renee and found her incredibly talented even when a very young actress. Her Oscar was way overdue. I think because she’s not part of a power couple, she hasn’t been treated as well by the industry. Sucks. Wish her and the new beau happiness and luck.
