Will Prince Andrew ‘break cover’ & leave Balmoral to see Princess Beatrice?

Duke of Edinburgh death

Princess Beatrice made some appearances last week, and she looked quite far along. For some reason, I believed that her due date wasn’t quite here though. I thought she probably had another month to go. Apparently, she did check into the hospital last Friday and no one is really talking about it except as this very strange reference to Prince Andrew, who has been in Balmoral for a few weeks, hiding out and trying to avoid his legal quagmire.

Prince Andrew will have to quit his Balmoral hideaway if he wants to see his heavily pregnant daughter in hospital. Princess Beatrice, 33, was admitted on Friday. Husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38, was believed to be with her.

Andrew has been in hiding for some time on the Queen’s 50,000-acre Scottish estate as lawyers try to serve Virginia Giuffre’s sex abuse lawsuit on him. But he is now likely to make a 500-mile dash to see his eldest daughter who is believed to be in a London hospital.

A Balmoral insider said: “Prince Andrew obviously hasn’t wanted to leave Balmoral when lawyers are still trying to serve the lawsuit papers but his daughter comes first and he will want to be there for her. He could end up staying on the estate and waiting for Beatrice to come to him once she’s given birth. But I’m sure he will want to go to her.”

Andrew has appeared to play a game of cat and mouse with the legal team acting for Ms Giuffre, formerly Roberts — moving between his home in Windsor and Balmoral to keep out of their way. Her lawyers said they had delivered papers notifying him about her US civil court sex case to his 30-room mansion at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

[From The Sun]

This makes no sense. Andrew is not still actively dodging the process server, because the process server is no longer hunting him. The server delivered the lawsuit papers to his home nearly two weeks ago. There’s already been a court appearance about it, and a British high court has already ruled that Andrew was served properly. If Andrew is hiding out in Scotland, it’s because he’s a mess and he’s running away from his responsibilities in general. Which really sucks for Beatrice, because I bet she’d like to have her parents around at the moment. Edo is her husband, for sure, but Fergie and Andrew better show up when Bea gives birth, if she hasn’t already.

It won’t surprise me if he doesn’t go to the hospital. Too public and too exposed. Bea may not want her father’s brand of publicity when she leaves the hospital with her baby.
I’d say he’ll wait for Bea to go home and see her and the baby there.

  2. Amy Bee says:

Who leaked to the press that Beatrice was in the hospital and why?

  3. Zen says:

“Andrew’s 30 room mansion at Royal Lodge”. First time I’ve seen a tabloid reference the size of a Royals home for other than H&M. About time. Now tell us how many millions it cost and how many bathrooms it has. Its a historical building and on prime land so I’d guarentee worth way more than $14m.

    • Debbie says:

I think the BM is still too tactful about the way they discuss Andrew: “Playing hide and seek” and “his Balmoral hideaway.” I’m sorry, but that language is too cutesy for the allegations against Andrew. The BM used stronger language when Meghan touched her own pregnant belly.

  4. Esmerelda says:

What a disgrace, daughter in hospital/giving birth and he’s behaved so despicably that the story it’s still “Duke dodging rape lawsuit” – if she had a decent father, we would be here writing “congrats Bea, hope everything goes well”.
If I were his daughter, I wouldn’t speak to him. How can they live like this?

    • BothSidesNow says:

@ Esmerelda, yes, how can they live like this? PedoAndy is such a disgrace and everyone is more interested in him than his daughter. He really is a piece of work. He just doesn’t want to get papped. Maybe he will crawl back onto the hole he came from. We can only hope!

  5. Miranda says:

Does he…does he think that, if he doesn’t move too much, they won’t see him and will just drop the case? The American justice system isn’t run by T-rexes.

    • Becks1 says:

I’m dying. DYING. Because that’s exactly what he’s acting like! “if I don’t move, they wont see me.”

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Our dogs always did that thing: turn their heads thinking if THEY don’t look at us, WE won’t see them! lol. It was hysterical! We’d catch them chewing on something, they’d freeze and look away, being verrrry still. Then after this “standoff”, they’d chew again, we call their name, they’d freeze, look away… too funny! 😊

But yes…this is the mentality of this over bred/intermarried Benny Hill Bunch. If you can’t “see” them, they are home free.

      • iconoclast59 says:

Y’all are making me think of the old “I’m crushing your head” sketches on Kids In The Hall, where they’d hold their thumbs up in front of the other person’s face and say, “There’s NOBODY HOME!!” Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9ucJAV3rVU

    • TheFarmer'sWife says:

It’s like when a small child closes their eyes and thinks you can’t see them because they can’t see you!

    • Christina says:

You made me spit my coffee out!!! T-rexes!!! Bwahahahahaha!!!

Andrew and his team are so dumb, but not completely stupid. The people who read his version, who don’t know that Andrew’s lawyers have been engaged with the American justice system for weeks, are as supportive of the crown as Trumpies are of Trump. This is a strategy that’s worked for generations. The guy doesn’t know how to respond any other way.

      Andrew is no Harry.

    • Christine says:

      God, I needed this laugh!!!!

    • Debbie says:

Perhaps there aren’t any darting trees near the hospital as there are near mummy’s home; otherwise, he’d be in to his daughter.

  6. Megan H says:

They have the resources to make sure he gets there unnoticed. I bet this story is either purely fanfiction, or planted to distract from the fact that she’s already given birth and he’s already with her and Edo and baby.

  7. Sofia says:

First of all, I hope Bea and the baby are okay. Second of all, yeah he’s already been served so why is he hiding out? He’s not going to be arrested.

  8. Alexandria says:

One good thing is at least the Sun uses hiding and hideaway. It’s too obvious he is not going to cooperate!

  9. PrincessPossum says:

Was Beatrice the one that helped arrange his disaster interview a few years ago? It’s a shame to not have her parents’ support right now, but I do wonder what her view of the situation really is.

Eugenie is the one I have a soft spot for. Yes yes a life of enormous privilege and all that, but she seems to have a decent head on her shoulders.

  10. Harper says:

You don’t really need your dad at the hospital when you are giving birth. A visit afterward when everything is over to see the baby is nice and expected, but hospital stays are so short nowadays anyway.

What might be going on in that family is pressure to hold back the birth announcement in the hopes of overshadowing the next bad news drop regarding Andrew’s case. Which is futile.

  11. Eurydice says:

He’s dodging the press, not the process server.

    • Becks1 says:

Exactly. He is safe and protected at Balmoral.

I think though once the queen leaves in a few weeks he’ll have to leave as well, don’t they basically shut the house down when she’s not there?

      • Alexandria says:

Maybe he will follow his mama. At his age, back to following his mum everywhere.

      • Ainsley7 says:

They don’t shut it down right away. They usually open it up to tourists for tours and they have cottages you can rent. So, he will likely leave to avoid that.

      • RoyalBlue says:

Yes he will have to leave and follow mummy. Someone mentioned here a few weeks ago that you can’t arrest someone in the queen’s presence. I managed to find the excerpt below online.

‘While the Queen cannot be arrested, other members of the Royal Family can be, unless they are with her. The law also states that no arrests can be made in the monarch’s presence, or within the surroundings of a royal palace.’ So this is why Andy is sticking close to mummy. 🤣

  12. Rea says:

He can’t leave Balmoral. Because that is Scottish soil if he steps out of it and into English lands then he is fair game for the trial. The legal system is taking a while since its taking into account Scottish/ US relations. QE was smart to make Andrew go to Balmoral because it made the whole legal thing drag on longer had he been in his property.

    • Jaded says:

Of course he can leave Balmoral, Scotland has nothing to do with this as the alleged rapes took place in Manhattan, the US Virgin Islands and England. He’s been living at Royal Lodge in Windsor for ages, and has already been served there, but he’s just trying to avoid the press by remaining in Scotland. He’s been given seven days to appeal a High Court ruling which could pave the way for the start of his civil trial in the United States, but my guess is his lawyers will try to draw this out for months if not years. His best option is to fall on his sword and pay her off, then hopefully Charles will banish him to some remote location for the rest of his miserable life.

  13. Rice says:

I relented and I’m finally watching “The Crown” (I’m on Season 2). I know it’s part fiction, but my goodness, the factual parts are unbelievable and make me both hate them and be in awe of them. It’s a weird, unsettling feeling.

  14. Debbie says:

Question: Will Andrew “break cover” leave Balmoral to see Beatrice?

Answer: Not if there’s a cop in sight.

    • Lady D says:

There is a streak of cowardice running through them, the queen, Charles, Andrew and William. Are we really sure Harry is a Windsor? (jk)

  15. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Idk if this is a recent photo, but he looks really ashen. I hope he’s sweating bullets.

  16. Twinkle says:

I would be shocked if he left the protection of the his home to go see his daughter and new granddaughter because Andrew is a cowardly little bitch.
