Snoop Dogg gives ‘a lot of respect’ to Harry & Meghan for walking away

AFI FEST 2019 - Opening Night Gala - Premiere Of Universal Pictures' 'Queen And Slim'

Did you know that Snoop Dogg turns 50 years old this month? Crazy, right? I thought he was older than that, actually. He just seems to have always been around, always famous and always hustling. Snoop was probably promoting one of his many projects and he chatted with the Daily Mirror, a British outlet. Of course they asked him about Prince Harry and Meghan and of course Snoop had something to say. He was surprisingly diplomatic and warm about it, actually.

Snoop Dogg has invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle round for Thanksgiving….and promised to Drop It Like It’s Hot on the kitchen table. Hazza, 37, is a fan of the American hip hop star and the feeling is mutual.

Snoop, 49, who lives close to the royal in LA, tells me: “I said Prince Harry had big balls when he didn’t invite Trump to his wedding. And now, for real, I say he’s got an even bigger set of balls. Him and Meghan are living their lives like they want and that can’t be an easy thing with the whole world judging them. They got to live life their way – they get a lot of respect from me for that. If they want to come over for Thanksgiving dinner they are in for something special. They can come over to Snoop’s crib.”

Snoop was taught to cook by top chef and pal Gordon Ramsay , 54.

He says: “People didn’t think I could cook. They saw my cooking show and now they know that I can. I met up with my boy Gordon and he has taught me a few things.”

Talking about his friendship with Harry and his brother Prince William , he adds: “Harry and William are my boys. As soon as I knew they were fans I reached out to them and we‘ve been cool ever since.

[From The Daily Mirror]

“Him and Meghan are living their lives like they want and that can’t be an easy thing with the whole world judging them…” Nice, right? British saltines underestimate how much Harry and Meghan’s Sussexit narrative appeals to Americans. We respect the fact that they both walked away and are now living their lives on their terms. I hope H&M befriend Snoop and Martha Stewart. They can go into business together selling CBD products.

I love everything about these quotes and laughed out loud at “I said Prince Harry had big balls when he didn’t invite Trump to his wedding. And now, for real, I say he’s got an even bigger set of balls.”

Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart have collaborated on some things right? I don’t doubt he can cook. I’d love to go to his Thanksgiving dinner!

    • Ariel says:

Snoop and Martha have a cooking show- they have dueling kitchens- next to each other, decorated in each’s style- so very different from one another.
They both cook the same thing, then they and celebrity guests sit down to chat and eat and judge whose dish was better.
it aired on VH1 – and if you can find it- watch it- it is hysterical and delightful.
      I highly recommend it.

    • Becks1 says:

They’re hilarious together. They are so different but also seem to genuinely like each other, so its fun to see them together because its not just “oh look, its a rapper and Martha Stewart, haha, isn’t that funny, they’re so different.” Its more, “oh look, its Snoop and his friend Martha, having a good time together.”

    • StellainNH says:

Snoop has had a cookbook out for a few years. Some of those recipes are really good!

  2. Noki says:

That is very sweet of him. But is he confused about the Trump comment, why on Earth would H & M invite that t**d especially since unlike The Keens wedding they didnt have to invite any statemen or diplomats.

    • SH says:

They made the choice not in invite diplomats in part so they wouldn’t look obligated to invite Trump who definitely wanted to attend.
The British government would have been happy to use the wedding to try to further appease Trump as well as be sent themselves at a global event.

      • aftershocks says:

^^^ Honestly, @ SH and @Murphy, Meghan and Harry were not the ones who made that decision, as they didn’t have complete control over the guest list. None of us know exactly what happened behind-the-scenes, but I think from all evidence that M&H may have wished to extend invites to the Obamas and to the Trudeaus, whom they have friendly relationships with. But the British government, under feckless Theresa May, was overly concerned about Trump’s unpredictability and his Twitter-mouth.

As a result, the publicly announced compromise was that no political figures would be invited, outside of former prime minister John Major, who has close ties to the royals. There never should have been any public drama around M&H’s wedding guest list, but there was all kinds of drama, as we know. In fact, M&H preferred a smaller, more intimate wedding, which is why they chose St. George’s Chapel over Westminster Abbey. They clearly had to make some concessions regarding the guest list and the scale of the wedding. They didn’t have control over all of the arrangements, but what they had control over turned out beautifully.

Trump never ever said anything about wanting to be invited to M&H’s wedding! It was silly Theresa May who made noises about Trump needing to be invited, like an idiot, in part due to the specter of Brexit, and the need to make trade deals with the U.S. There is absolutely no tradition and no protocol for inviting U.S. presidents to high profile U.K. royal weddings! Why? Because the U.S. is NOT part of the U.K. Commonwealth. Doesn’t 1776 ring a bell?

The Obamas weren’t invited to W&K’s wedding because at that point, the couples had never met. The Queen had met the Obamas, but again there was no precedent to invite them to W&J’s wedding. The Queen chose to invite the Obamas to a state dinner the following month after the wedding, as compensation, and b/c she likes the Obamas personally. Plus, W&K reportedly had expressly asked the Queen if they could eliminate some political invitees from their guest list, b/c they didn’t want to invite a lot of bigwigs they didn’t know. Or else, they were being snooty. 😉

Historically, the Reagans were invited to C&D’s 1981 royal wedding. That was purely as a courtesy, in part because the Queen was very friendly with Reagan (she spent personal time with him riding horses). Even then, only Nancy Reagan attended. The security concerns alone, for a U.S. president attending a royal wedding, would be an inconvenient and totally unnecessary logistical nightmare.

    • Murphy says:

If that Thirst Monster had been in office when Bill and Kathy got married you better believe he would have called Carole at home in Buckleberry to get an in. (Whereas the Obamas probably couldn’t have cared less)

      • aftershocks says:

^^ See my above post, @Murphy. You are correct that the Obamas were not pressed about whether or not they would be invited to W&K’s wedding, for reasons I outlined already. It’s not protocol to invite U.S. presidents. Nancy Reagan attended C&D’s wedding, b/c she and her husband were invited as a personal courtesy, by the Queen, who was friendly with Reagan. But only Nancy attended.

I doubt any U.S. president, would ever attend a foreign function of this type. U.S. is not part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Even for high profile funerals of political figures, it’s usually the U.S. VP who attends. Part of the reason for U.S. presidents not to typically attend these types of functions, likely has to do with security concerns, and their busy schedules. Trump, of course, was an anomaly, as well as being allergic to reading briefings and doing responsible work.

If anything, it was Ivanka Trump who wanted to be invited (along with hubby, Jared) to M&H’s wedding. If by chance, an invite had been extended to Trump (never was gonna happen btw), it would have been Ivanka and Jared who showed up. Ivanka travels in the same circles as Misha Nonoo, and she and Jared were guests at Nonoo’s wedding to Mikey Hess. Beatrice, Eugenie, and the Sussexes also attended, of course.

BTW, Meghan, many moons ago had made a cold call to Ivanka, asking her to be featured on the Tig blog. Ivanka obliged, but outside of that one-time contact, they were/ are not friends in any way, either personally or professionally.

  3. Merricat says:

It makes perfect sense to me that Snoop can cook. Lol.

  4. Over it says:

Snoop I was with you until you mentioned william the bald being your boy. Maybe you didn’t get the memo but he is an incandescent, racist, bully.

    • swirlmamad says:

The Daily Mirror probably slipped that reference to William in there to appease their reader base, lol. William is WAYYYY too uptight for Snoop, lmao.

      • aftershocks says:

^^ Yep, I doubt Snoop is tight with TOB/ Burger King these days. LOL! Snoop must be referencing having hooked up with Wills and Haz in the mid-2000s when the young Wales bros were into rap music and brushing shoulders with popular celebs, because they themselves were so famous as royals, and especially as Diana’s sons.

Ironically, whether Snoop knows it or not, TOB and his wife, and their jealous insecurities, are the main impetus (along with tabloid BM) for Harry making the decision to escape the gilded cage with Meghan and Archie. Fortunately, they escaped with their lives and with their loving marriage, intact!

  5. Edna says:

“Snoop, 49, who lives close to the royal in LA”

Such a blatant lie. The Sussexes are in Santa Barbara not LA. It’s infuriating that the BM continues with these intentional lies.

Anyway, glad Snoop said what he said. Hope more folks continue to show their support for H&M.

    • Snuffles says:

I think the RRs are that stupid and don’t understand basic geography.

    • Noki says:

It just shows you the kind of idiots that they are writting for..folks who probably dont know the differences between LA and California.

      • bettyrose says:

Nobody outside of California really gets this, though. There’s some vague notion that SF is in a colder, more northern part of the state, but everything else is L.A. (Lived in SoCal – not LA – for 10 years, so I speak from experience trying to explain that to people out of state).

    • Midnight@theOasis says:

Subliminal messaging. Don’t you know Snoop is “Straight out of Compton.” Obviously H&M and their 50 bathrooms are living up in the hood near Snoop Dog.

    • Lizzie says:

I think they understand very well that Santa Barbara is not LA but that doesn’t fit their agenda trying to brand H&M as LA or Hollywood.

      • Snuffles says:

I liken it to a willful ignorance. They are making assumptions and have no desire to check their facts.

    • Nicole says:

What’s even more hilarious is that Snoop doesn’t live in LA either. A completely different county. He lives in a wealthy enclave called LaVerne. I feel like I need to poste a google maps the British press to get it. Southern California is HUGE.

      • JT says:

H&M are Hollywood but the Keens were just at a Bond premier. And wasn’t Buttons just praised for copying Meg’s glamorous, Hollywood sense of style?

      • MMadison says:

It doesn’t matter to these folks. What they’re trying to imply is that Snoop is Black so he isn’t of a certain social class structure that are familiar to the Brits. So the goal is to make the connection between Snoops social class and how Meghan/Harry are now living in that social class structure in America (i.e. not Royal). The Brits are all about class structure. They pretend they are not but it drives them.

    • Soni says:

And Snoop doesn’t live in LA either. He lives in a suburb called Diamond Bar like 40 minutes east. So even FURTHER from Montecito. Do British people enjoy their “papers” making them look so stupid?

  6. Rapunzel says:

I wonder what Snoop would say about the Middleton pot farm, lol.

    • Theothermia says:

Lmao he’d probably name the nugs “Middleton Mids” if their product is sub par (which it must be compared to California)

I’ve had some of snoops brand, great infused hot sauce

  7. Cait says:

I lost all respect for Snoop not that I had that much to begin with after he attacked and sent his followers after 65 year old Gayle King. She is a journalist and he was dead silent when all the White women Abigail Disney, Rose McGowan etc brought up Kobe Bryant’s rape trial. F*ck Snoop and he completely ignores his own daughter

  8. Harla says:

I’d love to see Meghan cooking with Snoop and Martha!!

  9. Amy Too says:

The CBD line should be called “The Royal F**kery Antidote”

  10. Basi says:

I love Snoop. This makes me so happy. Take that Baldimort, Karen Keen and the rest of the sorry lot.
Prince Harry and Duchess Megan have very powerful and cool people on their side.
Beyoncé, Oprah, Snoop, Glennon and Abby. (Some of my faves anyway!)

  11. Rin says:

Sorry, don’t mean to nitpick, but the Sussex actually live in Montecito. It is technically its own unincorporated community. It’s very beautiful and very affluent.

  12. Eurydice says:

The Sussexit narrative is a version of the American immigrant narrative – the idea that something about your country of origin isn’t working for you (culture, religion, economics, etc.) and you’re willing to set aside traditions in order to live the life you want. That doesn’t mean the narrative is true for everyone, just that it forms the general attitude that it’s OK to leave the RF behind and build a new life in the US.

  13. Theothermia says:

Lmfao the way he talks about Harry’s balls 🤣

  14. Agreatreckoning says:

I’m not buying that Snoop is talking to anyone at the Daily Mirror as much as I like some of the “quotes”. Ramsay may? have taught him some tricks but he’s not the one who taught him to cook. He told Ramsay in 2017 on an episode of The F Word that he was a chef before his show with Martha(first ep 2016). No idea about how he feels about Harry & Meghan. Most logical Something odd is going on. Looking at Halina Watts (“writer” of this story) twitter and her entries for September 15th and June 13th(Piers Morgan and Wootton) tells me all I need to know about her and she not being someone Snoop is telling things to. Cobbled together story for reasons?

  15. Wendy says:

Snoop is one of those guys who is way more than you’d first think (ie just a singer) – lots of interests and seems to know everyone. Very cool guy. Seems very down to earth and smart – bet he’s a lot of fun. H&M should go to his house for Thanksgiving. He can be Archie and Lilibet’s Uncle.

  16. Misskitten says:

I love that Snoop propped up Harry & Meghan to one of the British outlets. I’m sure Snoop knows about the whole racist BM/British Media/Bowel Movement harassment of Meghan. You just know that the editors were probably all grumbling about Snoop saying nice things but they know they can’t censor Snoop’s words without huge backlash. And besides how often do they get an interview with someone as big as Snoop?

  17. Matthew says:

I think the concept of a “Sussexit” from Britain is fundamentally understood in the American cultural psyche. Maybe more than the Brits bargained for.
